This is a total rip-off. I went there with my wife for coffee and tea. The service was so slow despite having only six clients. We had a white coffee and tea with one chocolate brownie. The charge was £12.50. I have been here several times and always been satisfied. This place has changed out of all recognition and I will never return.

Quirky little place but the portions were tiny and the fish was super greasy. I don't like to leave bad reviews but I felt for the money we paid it was poor value and not of a great quality. Its a real shame as the location is great and the place is super quirky and interesting.

Lovely wee pub/restaurant/take away. On a day trip up to the East Nuek, we arrived at Pittenweem Harbour and thought we would try Chip Ahoy. We had been there years ago and it was good back then. Although busy, we were able to get a table. We ordered the chowder followed by fish and chips. The chowder tasted fantastic big chunks of fish, totties etc no complaints. The fish and chips again were great, big portions proper chips and the batter on the fish really crisp and not greasy. The lattes we ordered tasted nice and were hot. The decor was of paintings of the buildings harbours and boats in the local area which made it a really nice setting. The servers were polite, prompt and well presented. The toilets were clean and tidy. This is a great place to come and have a bite to eat in winter and summer. Plenty of free parking, with a carpark up the street at the West end of the Harbour.

My partner and I visited Chip Ahoy in Pittenweem last night for 3 takeaway fish suppers. Left £40 pound lighter and were treated like animals, we were told by the fish fryer to go over and take a seat and he’d bring over our suppers when they were ready. As instructed, my partner went over and I followed to be stopped by a woman whom I assume was the manager and asked where I was going. I said I was going to get my partner and she said ‘that should be ok?’ Which I found odd. I then went and sat with him whilst we were waiting on our takeout being brought over. We were then approached by a man who looked at us as if we had 5 heads, telling us that we could not sit at the table. We informed him we had been told to sit there temporarily whilst we waited on our suppers. Customers sitting opposite us even commented on the way we were spoken to and the looks we got. The woman behind the bar (same one that stopped me 2 minutes prior) gave us horrible looks the whole time we sat, staring at us. The same man then came over again and told us we couldn’t sit there so we moved. May I add that the seating area and chippy weren’t busy at all during this time. We then got up and moved to the takeout area to wait on our suppers, If We hadn’t paid £40 for our food which was extremely pricey for what we got then we would’ve just walked out. You do not treat customers like that 😂 absolutely ridiculous treatment, I think you should partake in a management course. The whole experience was very degrading, please treat your customers better in future. Left this review on Facebook and received an awful response from the page which reflected their unprofessional and lack of customer service skills.

We were really disappointed with the takeaway fish and chips from here. At £12.50 a supper we were expecting fresh tasty fish however, mine was completely saturated in salt so it was almost inedible whilst my husband said his had no flavour. The gravy and tomato sauce was watered down with vinegar too. I think you need to go to Anstruther or Crail to get the really fresh fish.

The staff are all really lovely with the exception of one man who I assume is the owner. We were in and ordered a few drinks (massively overpriced) and some dry, chips. A couple with a young child were sitting beside us and the lady took the child to change his nappy in the bathroom. Seemingly the changing station broke away from the wall and the child fell on the floor. Rather than apologising or enquiring if the boy was hurt, the owner berated the couple claiming he would have to pay £250 to have the station fixed. We sat in astonishment as this happened, not once but twice. The young couple were mortified and even offered to cover the cost, I've no idea why as the wee boy was well within the weight limit for such a station, but the owner aggressively stated "I'll cover your damage for you!" He should've been far more concerned for the safety of children in his establishment but never even asked if the child was ok. Utterly disgraceful. We won't be back. Given there is literally nowhere else to go in Pittenweem when the excellent West End Bar is closed this chancer obviously believes he can treat people badly and over charge for a poor product

Looking for langostines & they had them. Very disappointed once we started eating them. The were very dry, sometimes the leg didn’t even have meat in it. They served old seafood. The mussels & the hamburger were the only good meal items. The starter, prawn cocktail, was good. Ultimately, though, the haddock & the langostines were disappointing. The server was pleasant but not overly helpful. Had to ask for anything you need, including sugar when getting tea. Probably should have gone to Dory down the street.

Shockingly bad Ordered the langoustines, scallops, smoked mackerel and chips all to come at the same time as eating altogether as a family. Scallops were served with haggis and bread. Scallops were still sandy haggis was under cooked bread was stale. Langoustines served with garlic butter and oatcakes. Over cooked and god only knows what the garlic butter was more like runny dyed cream that stained everyone’s mouth yellow. Smoked mackerel was decent but no chips, peas or tartar sauce as described on the menu. Chips were very undercooked. Serving staff were pleasant until I mentioned the undercooked chips and lack of sides for mackerel. Cooking staff looked scruffy and unkept. If your going to be serving and charging decent prices you need to get it right, total disrespect to the beautiful seafood on your doorstep.

Food was good, brother and his wife had the Balmoral chicken which they said was good but veg were cold; my wife had two starters - mussels & a crab dish, again good; I had main course mussels & chips again good, but served with a slice of plain white bread, a more rustic type of bread / baguette would have been great to dip up the sauce. We ordered the haddock and chips which came with a small portion of mushy peas and pot of sauce. The fish was as fresh as if it had just walked through the door from the harbour, chips were perfect too. Our waitress was Joyce who, altho busy, made sure all customers got proper attention. She also had good knowledge on the drinks too and suggested a local whiskey to try. All in all it was a great experience and we both had empty plates! Adapted post - Rude rude rude staff! And apologetic comment to this review changed to a rude passive aggressive message when I didn't reply. Absolutely ridiculous! Would never eat here again. ** We usually go to the Larachmhor a good few times a month and it's always been decent. Good service and good food! Went there this evening. Was charged £16 for chips and cheese and a children's fish supper which was half a tiny fish and 10 chips. It was pretty horrible to be honest. The chips were very very greasy and hard, the fish was slimy and there was so much paper stuck to the bottom of them both. Very disappointed and definitely puts me off going back 😞 Wouldn't usually do a review but it was particularly disappointing. **

Busy chip shop, bar, restaurant. Seems to be the only fast food outlet in Pittenweem. Fish supper was excellent - had with red wine!

First visit today for lunch and it won’t be our last. Sits right on the promenade looking over the water. We had a lovely walk beforehand and worked up an appetite. I had battered fish and chip and hubby had steak pie and chips. Both meals arrived piping hot and delicious 😋 very good service.

Tasty.... My friend and I visited here fir the 1st time. Very pleasant surroundings, equally pleasant staff. We sat through the back which was very nice. The coffee was really nice but the Rhubarb Loaf.....well!! It was amazing! I'll definitely be going again

Group of 8 of us were out for food and drink and had booked here for an evening meal on Sunday. Unfortunately the booing and paying for meal system didn’t work because one item wasn’t available on the menu. So we had to re do our order. After an hour we were about to leave as still no sign of any food. Ainslie (assistant manager) started to look after us and if it hadn’t been for her exceptional customer service, understanding and support we would have walked out. Food was nice, mainly burgers and sides and all 8 people were filled up. So the beers, the food, the sides weren’t the star of the show but the employee- Ainslie, bravo
