Great experience: tasty, accommodating, and cute! I particularly enjoyed the Brigadoon (stacked pancakes and bacon) which was lovely and well-presented. Would highly recommend!

Cosy cafe with nice decor and ambiance, but desperately needs a good deep clean and hoover. Berry waffles were really tasty, and the "highlander" (English muffin with haggis, bacon, poached eggs and hollandaise) was also nice but just a shame the poached eggs were hard and overcooked, and the hollandaise sauce was mixing with a sad, unexpected spoonful of watery coleslaw on the plate - maybe keep that with sandwiches/paninis etc? Scones and baked goods are always good here, would recommend those.

A cute, cosy little café with retro British decor and a good selection of simple but luscious British fare, especially teas and freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam. The 'Duke of Cambridge' or 'Prince of Cambridge' scones filled with berries are especially worth a try, and absolutely enormous for scones — with cream and jam, they can essentially constitute a lunch or dinner in themselves.

Cute little shop. Service is good and professional. But for a cake that cost almost £5, I kinda expect more from it. The frosting tastes very artificial like one you can get from a tub. I'd rather buy Tesco cake and brew my tea.

This is a beautiful little cafe with a lovely atmosphere. Staff seem attentive but very stressed and rushed off their feet. Cakes and scones looked delicious but was very off putting watching our food made with Tesco own brand items, when I pay between £4.50 and £7 for a Toastie, I do not expect to see the bread coming out of a Tesco own brand packaging especially right in front of us. It definitely made us wonder where the fillings were sourced from.

The atmosphere and decor are warm and inviting, service is very good, prices are moderate. The place is very compact -- literally a box on top of a box -- and the accessibility of escapes in an emergency would make a fire marshall (in the US) shudder but the brunch experience is very good. The sandwiches and foods are the kind that can be prepared fresh on hot plates and panini presses. There's something quaint and inviting about all that.

Visited for lunch as cakes and menu looked very appealing from the outside! Tables upstairs for 5-6 small groups. The service from the Indian lady was very polite. However the food did not really deliver on taste or quality (other than the lentil soup). We found a hair in one of the paninis! The cafe needs a deep clean as very rough around the edges. Visible dirt on the floors, carpets needing cleaned and area where food is prepared not very clean either! This place needs to shut for a few days and carry out a Deep clean!

Lovely friendly waitress . Not busy initially but still took quite a while to get baked potatoes. I had asked if coleslaw was home made as I don't like bought in stuff. When it arrived the coleslaw wasn't (I'm sure!) homemade and the potato was buried underneath so much of it . It was tuna and coleslaw and the potato was relatively small and everything was overwhelmed with the coleslaw which kind of spoilt it for me . I'd keep the 2 fillings separate tbh and maybe serve a bigger potato 🥔 Not sure why it's served in a glass bowl either ! Just a few tweaks and could be really nice 👍 Waitress was very friendly and helpful 🙂 Great coffee ☕ 😋

3 star review is the average of a stunning 5 star scone and a vile piece of carrot cake. The scone was honestly unforgettable, just delicious, the carrot cake was slathered in soapy tasting cream. The sponge tasted stale. Only one person was in front of me when I went in and I had to fight my way through a queue to get out. It does seem very confusing and a bit all over the place.

A lovely place in the heart of the town to enjoy light delights at a very reasonable price. On a blustery and solemn October day, I bought a cup of chicken soup and some breakfast tea. To my delight those provisions were accompanied with a fluffy and airy roll. If I have any major critique it is that I did not immediately see the sizable, atmospheric upstairs dining area, with its rustic wooden tables and old newspaper clippings plastered on the walls. The entire cafe seemed focused on takeaway, which is fine and makes sense given its central location, but I wish that I had been able to more clearly see the inviting dining area. There are a dozen satisfying cafes in St Andrews, but you will not be disappointed if you choose this one.

Waited 25 mins for a table after being told there was a 10 min waiting time. Decided to resort to takeaway due to waiting so long. Even then it took about an extra 15mins when there was no one in front of us!! The girl behind the counter was very slow in making one panini and two soups. The older members of staff came across very rude and clearly don’t have much experience in the hospitality business. Will not be rushing back any time soon, there are many other small cafes with polite staff and good food in St Andrews. Do not recommend!!

The layout of this cafe was found to be very confusing especially as you have to wait in the same queue to eat in as you would takeaway. I would suggest moving the counter to face windows so there’s a clear divide between the two. We were horrified when one of the waiters (a tall blonde young man) was extremely rude to another member of staff who had printed the wrong receipt out for paying customers. The young man proceeded to snatch the receipt off his colleague, crumple it up in his hand and then threw it behind him on the floor before giving him a eye roll. This is no way acceptable to treat your colleagues like that and particularly in-front of queuing customers. Management needs to be taken seriously.

Waited 35mins for a takeaway panini and coffee!! If the food was worth the wait then fine, but due to the time it took to receive the panini it was rock solid and coffee was cold. Clearly a previous successful business now taken over by people that have never been in the catering business before; it takes hard work and graft to make this sort of set-up work. After waiting 30mins I complained, only to be confronted by front of house staff that come out of the premises and remenstrated with me outside the shop! Grow-up young man (no pun intended) - and don't be rude, there is no need for that sort of bad behaviour. I'd suggest you understand your business, get some advice from people who have done this before and work hard at getting timings right and learn to take feedback; I'd have loved to of had a good experience but I'd avoid this shop from now on; there are plenty more takeaways in St Andrews that have better scones, nice staff and far better service.

Overpriced cafe for less than average food. Morning rolls are expensive for a frozen bread roll and the egg was like a rubber bullet.. ordered a wrap and it was the size of a postage stamp with very little filling and folded up small to disguise the fact! I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.. monopolising the location and serving poor quality food. The staff not very good either not able to get the order correct for 3 people and just generally not very friendly. What could be a good little cafe is wasted by their food quality and extortionate pricing!

Most chaotic cafe I’ve ever been too. Got the order wrong despite reading it back to us, then brought out just one sausage on a roll (we ordered one each) and said they were away out to get more rolls (but that the sausages were ready) and then came back 5 minutes later saying they couldn’t get anymore rolls and did we want anything else instead. Needless to say we left after this. Avoid this cafe at all costs.

We queued behind two couples on arrival and had to wait about ten minutes to be served takeaway. One panini, three cakes and two drinks were all we wanted. One of the guys started cutting the bread in the shop and was told to take it behind to prepare. Over five minutes later, out he came with the panini and put it on the grill. Meanwhile, the other guy started serving a couple who'd come in behind us, who wanted two drinks. They were given them. As our server wanted to get to the cake counter to get one of the cakes, they were in the way but pointed out that they hadn't paid. Rather than telling their server, who was doing nothing, that he needed to sort payment, our server stopped serving us and started serving them. Only once he'd faffed about and taken their payment, did he start on our drinks: a tea and a white Americano; simple. By now, the panini had been in for fifteen minutes. One of our party, waiting outside, protested that we'd been waiting half an hour and one of the servers became threatening and came out of the shop to challenge him. Eventually, we were handed our order: an overdone Panini, three cakes with no serviettes or cutlery (for the sponge cake) and a white Americano... only ot was black. Only the tea,was acceptable. We were charged nearly £20 for this - although first given a figure of £14. Do not, under any circumstances, engage with this business: one totally incompetent server and one rude and unpleasant; neither with any idea how to carry out customer service.

Having enjoyed visiting this cafe before, this visit was a complete disappointment. It appears to have changed hands and the quality of the service and food has sadly deteriorated. Our meals were not served at the same time (3 of us) . Toasties were lukewarm and not worth the price! Salad was ok. Posters on the wall ask customers not to stay for longer than hour to allow other’s in but the service was SO slow we were still there 1.5 hrs after arriving. Tables are so crammed in that waiters have to squeeze past with full trays, narrowly avoiding hitting my friends head on 2 occasions. The menu also states they apply a discretionary 5% gratuity to your bill! Surely this should be left to the customer to decide based on their experience and not having to request this be removed if not satisfied. Won’t be back.

We had a warming stop for coffee in a freezing cold day in St Andrews - 3 flat whites and a cappuccino - coffee was hot and tasty.

Very pleasant bar serving a range of food. Early evening short visit with most tables occupied and with prompt service. A younger crowd started to arrive around 7 but vibe good. Will drop in next week to sample the fare
