A lovely small local Inn tucked away in Gairloch Bay with a very relaxed and casual welcoming atmosphere that serves an array of freshly caught fish at the local harbour. Our starters of crab, goats cheese and king prawns were lovely, this was followed by smoked trout, beer battered haddock and chips and langoustines which were delicious and the desserts didn't disappoint either. The staff were welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. The food and service on our visit last week deserve the five stars alone, but my only criticisms would be the lack of any side dishes on offer, particularly for the smoked trout and langoustine mains where the option of more than a couple of slices of bread would have been welcome for healthy appetites. While my fellow sweet toothed guests both really enjoyed their desserts, I would have loved the option of a locally selected cheese board. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

This is a lovely cosy wee bar. Some of the staff were nice and friendly and others were a bit unhelpful. We had food in the bar section because we had our dog with us. He sat under our table quiet and out of the way. However, the owners two dogs who are free to roam about the pub (no problem with that but maybe not when people are eating?), kept coming under our table and mooching at our food which was annoying and none of the staff or owners who were there seemed to do anything about this. Our food was a massive let down. It looked amazing but there wasn’t much flavour and slightly overpriced. My partner had the roasted lamb and it was overly salted and almost tasted sweaty. He was too polite to send it back. I had the fresh langoustine which was served cold, disappointing, and all it came with was salad and two small pieces of bread as a main meal. One of my langoustines was bad and black on the inside too. It’s a nice pub, but I think the food is very hit and miss.

We ate here twice. The location is stunning. Plenty of outside seating. Food is great. Would reccomend the fish & chips and the Langustines. Sadly on a down side the young man behind the bar was reluctant to let us have a table outside, could accommodate us at 8pm so I booked the boat shed for 6pm,on line,to then get a call from the young man saying it wasn't possible as the midges would be bad. We were then helped by a lovely young lady who couldn't have been more helpful. We ate at 5pm, outside and not a midge in sight. I would reccomend a visit when in the area as everyone else we met was great and happy to help.

Was looking to a seafood feast. Booked a table for four plus two dogs, we weren’t allowed in the room with a view because we had dogs ( it was empty) menu looked inviting, opted for creole caught langoustines with toasted ciabatta and salad as a main. Meal arrived promptly four on a plate but only one claw(?) cold with two tiny fingers of bread which wasn’t ciabatta. No clippers, no finger bowl. Langoustines were flavourless, and meagre, melted butter was perfect. Waitress was nice and helpful, I was British and didn’t complain. Bar manager was slightly too confident. Crumble being baked but not on offer as it was for the evening…. We were not tempted to stay after the mains. I was asked what I thought and I made a “meh” noise to which the bar manager looked at my plate and said clean plates were evident we’d enjoyed the meal ( I was hungry and the quantities were not balanced for a main meal) Regret not complaining at the time, I hate people who go away and write crap reviews but I get it now, I was too embarrassed and intimidated to complain at the time. My husbands burger was fine, my friends fish and chips were fine, the beers were lovely and the bar is quaint and cosy. But my langoustines were very disappointing indeed. Also heavy metal music not very relaxing ? We were the only customers, I have worked in the hospitality industry, you can do much better.

After some single track driving you come to the tiny village of Badachro. The Inn is tucked away at the pier with stunning views The staff were really helpful and fitted me in despite the place being busy. The specials board was full of seafood options and the oak smoked salmon was great. Never felt rushed and would thoroughly recommend

We ate here twice during our week in Gairloch, heaving on the Saturday night (you have to book ahead) but much quieter at weekday lunch. Lovely, genuine pub atmosphere. We ate in the super cosy bar both times, but you can book the conservatory that looks out over the water. Very good food. Fish tacos were amazing. Excellent fish and chips. My only complaint would be that pudding portions are strangely very small.

We are so disappointed with our recent experience at the Badachro Inn, previously a favourite place to visit and now somewhere we will avoid and advise all friends and family to also take a wide birth! We were delighted when after being out West for a walk at the beach that they had a table available when we popped in around 5.30pm on Sunday evening, we were advised we would need to be away by 7.30pm but we thought that would be fine, as we ordered before 6pm! Our order was taken quickly, and our starters came relatively quickly too, however the plates sat on the table uncleared for about 15 minutes and our main course took a further 20 minutes to be served. While waiting we ordered some more drinks, two of these drinks were glasses of Pinot Grigio blush (a favourite that I have every-time we visit) when the glasses arrived I knew as soon as I looking at it that it wasn’t the correct wine as it was a dark pinky colour and upon tasting it, it was an unpleasant sweet rose wine! When asking the waitress she advised me that it wasn’t the Pinot Grigio blush as they didn’t have it and they’d just given us another rose!! I advised I did not like the wine and requested they change them for just a plain Pinot Grigio - I was pretty taken a back as I don’t think I’ve ever had someone just serving me another wine when they didn’t have the one ordered! Our food arrived along with the much nicer wine and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. When our plates for main were cleared we were asked if we’d like dessert so we said yes and continued to order. The dessert arrived on our table about 7.20pm and about 3 minutes later while we were half way through our desserts we were reminded that we had to leave the table by 7.30pm. The remainder of our time at the table was so uncomfortable, one of the waitresses kept coming into the conservatory to wipe the other tables and bang the chairs and there were comments being made of us still not leaving the table and we still hadn’t been given our bill!! When leaving I asked to make a complaint about the service, as had the main course been served quicker we would have been finished, so it just seemed crazy that the blame was been put on us as customers when the time was completely out of our control. The young girl I spoke to initially was lovely and apologetic, explaining that there was a shortage of kitchen staff, to which I said was understandable but still not a reason for being treated the way we were. Unfortunately the lady that came out to speak to me after the initial conversation with the younger girl was down right rude, asking me what my problem was and stating that they had done us a favour giving us a table and they should never have given us the table as we hadn’t booked… it’s so sad as it’s a beautiful spot and use to be an absolute gem that I recommended time and time again, but I walked away from that woman and will not return.

Went with family who live locally, for lunch. We had to book but - as with other comments - it was relatively quiet. The food was good. Quite simple but fresh. I thought a little expensive. (4 people with 1 small wine / 1 beer / 2 soft drinks + 2 starter + 4 main = £120 before optional gratuity). The setting is great. Staff friendly. Parking tight. Worth a visit. Will return on future visits.

We love this place, we don’t visit often enough ! Went for lunch on this occasion and it was absolute perfection. In arrival we were greeted warmly by a Friendly and attentive waitress/ barmaid , we were made very welcome and shown to our seat. We were also offered drinks quickly and checked on throughout our meal. The Badachro inn has a lovely atmosphere and is always warm and cosy, with great views from the dining area overlooking the bay. Overall It has a very homely feel. We were a group of 6 and had the Sunday lunch option with starters with one kids meal. I am a self confessed foodie and I really appreciate good food that someone has put time and thought into. I had the roasted cauliflower and miso soup starter, It’s really nice to see an underrated vegetable being used in a great way! Others had venison carpaccio which was also fantastic, and the calamari was perfectly cooked and tender. We had beef and venison roasts between us, one had chicken and every item on the plate was perfect. both red meats were cooked medium/ medium rare and very tender. crispy kale is one of my favourites so I was delighted to see this on a menu! The rainbow carrots both Looked and tasted great. The Yorkshire pud was perfection and The gravy was rich and full of flavour . Thoroughly impressed with our lunch . The kids meal was also great, a proper homemade burger with cheese , and crispy fries. Our meal was accompanied by a very nice Rioja. I skipped pudding but the kids had crumble and brownie and both looked fabulous. The brownie looked very fusgey and indulgent and I wish I’d ordered it for myself too! The chef is clearly very talented and it shows on the plate, and the staff at the Badachro clearly take a lot of pride in their work. It’s somewhere I wish I lived closer to as I would go there a lot more, probably the best pub/ restaraunt around the area. Can’t recommend a visit here enough .

An interesting pub/restaurant. It has hit and miss food which I think really depends on the dish and day of the week. We went a few times whilst up here and found it difficult to pin down. The staples are all pretty decent if a little Brakes-led. I think there are some passion projects on the menu, but it's just too long a menu to be getting things right. It also seems like they feel they have to put langoustines on even though I don't think we ever saw them. They'd be better doing a good plaice or something original than putting local delicacies on which they don't want to buy in.

Beautiful place for a drink on a nice day, right beside the sea. But very disappointing if you are looking for a gluten free meal, especially fish. Surely that’s not hard to provide? Surely? My only choice of fish was langoustines, which came with a tiny, tiny amount of salad, and no other carbs. I ordered it because out of the others offered I’d had lentils elsewhere the previous evening and I’m not a fan of steak. It was obvious that I didn’t know the technique to eat langoustines without the special implements, which they refused to give me because they thought I’d nick them! In my efforts one of the 6 langoustines shot out of my hand and fell on the floor. I had more problems getting some meat out of the claws and ended up with a very bent fork. I would liked to have paid half price for the course, but decided not to leave a tip instead, which I regret, as the waitresses tried to help. All decisions seemed to have to go through the chef. I wish I’d read some of these earlier reviews before deciding to eat there. I would prefer the staff to have been honest with me that the chef does not want to cater for people with gluten problems when I’d asked about what gf fish main course could be served over an hour before the meal. I would have gone elsewhere if I’d know, and they didn’t really need my custom. Now I feel frustrated and annoyed not just about the impact on me but because I may have put a damper on other’s evening because I felt I had to complain.

We’ve visited before, and even once stayed overnight. Back in the Highlands, we went with friends for lunch on a miserable day. We had booked a table in the conservatory. Magically, the sun came out briefly so we could enjoy the stunning view. There’s an extensive specials menu including local seafood. We had the prawns and calamari starters between four which was plenty. The calamari was delicious and the prawns nice and garlicky with a hint of chilli. Between us we ordered the crab salad, steak salad, fish and chips and burger. The portion sizes were good! The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Yes, you should book in advance! It’s a small place and it gets busy. If you turn up without a reservation then you might not get a table. That’s not the fault of the owners!

Ordered what I presumed to be their signature dish: langoustines. They arrived with a generous amount of incredibly gritty unwashed salad and a tiny quantity of some weird salad cream, served as though it was the most precious commodity on earth when in fact it was pretty tasteless. The large langoustines were good but very chilled so a bit bland. Also no implements were offered to crack the claws so you waste a lot of good stuff you’ve paid for. The salad was inedible though and so lazy. I didn’t complain because I was there with a small child and we needed to keep things moving. The staff were nice but they clearly don’t know what they’re doing. I would snd probably will go back there for a drink but not to eat. In a way, that may be the problem: it’s a delightful location and probably a transient clientele so they don’t have to try too hard to get the food right. Slight postscript: there were two adjacent tables of French people also eating and I found this pretty embarrassing. They clearly also were not that impressed. Sorry to give a bad review but really this could be done a bit better.

A hidden gem down one one the areas single track roads. Well worth seeking out. Friendly staff, really good food and a good selection of wines. Highly recommended.

Superfriendly staff, really good food, although we did expect a wider selection of fish/seafood than they actually offer. Definitely recommended, but make sure you have a reservation!

Table in bar for a supper while in the area. Welcoming to us & our dog. We counted as many dogs as people in the bar at one point. Friendly staff made us very welcome. Lovely atmosphere. Great local ingredients. Booked again to enjoy more...

What a find in the middle of nowhere! A real characterful pub, with an excellent restaurant. Welcoming and attentive staff, service with a smile, great menu and lovely food beautifully presented. There was even a beautiful view from the restaurant. What more do you want?

Good location but rather ordinary pub style food and offhand service neither of which justify the prices charged.

Incredible view across Loch Gairloch. Also a very fine fresh haddock and linguine dish for dinner. The waiter was entertaining himself and everyone with a very fine rendering of Johhny Cash songs. I fully recommend this pub. Nice beer too.

We booked to eat here while visiting the Gairloch area. We travel up this way regularly. Firstly, Covid precautions were non existent. Face masks are mandatory in Scotland and are required to be worn,by law, in pubs and restaurants. While customers wore masks the staff...

We spent an amazing evening here during the gorgeous weather in July 2021. Food was excellent, delicious seafood and cracking service. We then spend the evening having drinks on the terrace which is basically on the beach, enjoying absolutely stunning views across the water. Also...

This place is beautifully located but the positives end there. Absolutely no regard for covid rules. Staff and "locals" swanning about with no face covering. Toilets dirty and leaky. Food ok but quite overpriced. Table felt grimy. Place needs an attitude upgrade. Really disappointing visit.

This must be one of the worst pubs I have been in. Tables were filthy , floors were sticky and staff were uninterested. We ordered two drinks and could not find a clean table, then after using the toilets and actually feeling the stickiness of the floor , left. There are so many nice bars in this area, if you see it ... walk on by ! Giving it one star is flattering!!

Visited 3 times in 5 days and probably spent more on coffee than we did on merchandise (and Tiso is an excellent shop by the way). Excellent coffee, lovely cake selection and a truly fantastic full English/Scottish breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. View to the Cairngorms outstanding and our doggy companions most welcome.

Dreadful food. After waiting for more than 40 minutes our inedible burgers arrived. Mine had 2 pieces of lettuce and a dry patty that was inedible until I added barbecue sauce. By the time the sauce arrived it was cold so even less pleasant. My husband's burger had bacon that was so hard he couldn't cut it. And the same patty. I gave an honest answer when asked about my meal and suggested they needed a new cook. It was the worst meal I have eaten in years. I'm told it used to be good. Avoid it at all costs.

Fantastic to have so many GF options to eat. We both opted for GF pancakes with bacon and maple syrup and a coffee. The coffee was perfection and the pancakes utterly delicious. Big, fluffy and just THE best find in Inverness! Thank you ❤️
