Friendly service. Good selection of cakes.

We were just passing through when we stopped at this coffee shop. It is tiny but so cosy, we were welcomed in by a very friendly lady. It was our first Scottish breakfast ever and it was so good! Every product is fresh and local. The coffee was good! On our way out we took a strawberry smoothie, a raspberry smoothie and a home made shortbread to go. Also really delicious. I would absolutely recommend to go here!

Really good coffee, had pesto tomato and cheese panni and chicken soup ; you get two of those panini’s one just didn’t make it. It was delicious . Place is also dog friendly and is really welcoming

We have visited here while passing through a few times. Brought friends back here coming from Inverness, stopped for lunch. We all had various toasties with side salad with tea & coffee which were so delicious. We were going to have a cake too, they looked scrumptious,but we were stuffed after the toasties. Staff were really nice. We'll be back.

Ordered an Americano and warm enough while we had a brief stop when heading back to London on last Thursday night (23Nov). Nice and friendly staff (cashier?) - but don’t know what’s her name😅

My wife and I walked into this cafe for a mid afternoon snack and coffee . Welcome was non existent and although it’s tiny and was very quiet the staff managed to ignore us for 5 minutes. Eventually one approached us to take our order and when we asked for a menu , we’re told “ it’s what’s left in the fridge “ With local businesses struggling and places like this very dependent on tourist trade , not a very good impression, so we just walked out

The only place for a coffee we found in the afternoon since everything else was closed but we didn't regret it. Both the coffee and the pastries were delicious and the prices were good.

Very very sorry to say that their hot chocolate is watery and weak.

The employee or owner likes to pass rude comments. Made us feel unwelcomed. Seems to be pattern based on the comments. She is racist towards anyone that isn't white

Lovely place, very kind staff and delicious coffee 💕

We happened to walk into this cafe by chance with my aged parents for coffee and a small bite. We felt really unwelcome by the rude lady serving us. I am sorry if the color of my skin bothers you, but if you run a business treat everyone the same. The whole experience spoilt it for us and won’t be returning to this town ever.

A lovely little bistro, with delightful cakes! Friendly staff too. Highly recommended for breakfast, coffee or lunch.

Very cozy atmosphere. The Raspberry Cheesecake and Passion Fruit Cheesecakes are superb. The cappuccino and the tea are delicious and the service is very fast and friendly. Perfect start for the afternoon!

If you ate looking for a veggie breakfast this is the place to go food and staff were amazing

Visiting this lovely village for lunch. Stopped in for the Scottish tablet ice cream and a 1/2 strength cappacino. No problem. Staff gave me the coffee separately from the milk so I could goose my own strength coffee. Thanks for being understanding. Ice cream was delicious. Coffee just the way I wanted it. Thanks

We were just passing through on a coach tour and discovered this tiny gem. The service was friendly and efficient, and the food was delicious. Best chicken soup I've ever had! Warm, tasty and filling with the freshly baked wholemeal roll. Highly recommended. But be quick, it only seats about 10 people.

Looked a reasonable small cafe when we went in. Menu choice was OK for a lunch and staff seemed attentive. My wife and I ordered quiches which were heated, whilst the mother in law ordered a sandwich. All well so far but then there was a clatter and two quiches landed upside down on the floor. Looked like the server had taken them out the oven and dropped them as the plate was too hot. At the noise I looked over and the 3 staff looked round and saw me watching. The quiches were lifted but laid on a worktop not the bin. Eventually we received our quiches, new ones. But when we were eating I saw the server place the 2 that had dropped back in the display case beside tge others- uggh. My mother in law wanted to use the toilet, she is 95 and is not that mobile. She opened the door to head down to the toilet but was faced with a very steep stair so be warned this is not accessible. Would I eat here again - no chance. I did say to the server I was very disappointed she had done that but I don’t think she disposed of them.

Well folk’s! Being a Scot and with Mi Lass! Top quality foodstuffs. Excellent service and fair prices. (Unlike the other side prices of the town) Head towards this diamond for your foods

OK I suppose, they won't customize dishes: 🙄 ie.: you can't just get eggs and hash browns, you must buy and receive some other stuff as well even if you're willing to pay a premium and yet not eat the "black pudding" made from pork scraps.

This looked like a good place to get an ice cream, but looks can be deceptive. When trying to pick a flavour, my wife asked to taste the cranachan ice cream, not unreasonable given its an unusual flavour, and was curtly told 'we don't do tastes'. The ones we bought for the kids were tiny, not even a full scoop, and the server tried to overcharged me until I queried the total.

Nice little place on the main street with the basics such as locally baked cakes, coffee, other beverages, ice cream, and even gluten free offerings.

No frills coffee shop with many choices of drinks, cakes, pastries, small sandwiches, and both healthy and less healthy stuff.

The café is a bit crowded. The folk next to us were far too close. Service is lovely. The cakes are all made in house and are amazing! Breakfast roll was ok but everything on the breakfast plate needed more cooking. All undercooked and not hot. Sausages were sadly unpleasant abd undercooked. The egg albumen was clear. Café staff doing great but the chef isn't. Very reasonable prices.

We were staying outside of Pitlochry on our way to Skye, our hotel didn't do food so we stopped in Pitlochry for breakfast We discovered Mackenzie's by accident but hey, what a nice surprise. The gentleman behind the counter was very welcoming and seated us immediately. Two full Scottish breakfasts were delivered quickly and were so, so good. They do cakes, bakes etc and the take away business was doing a great trade that morning People from all over the world were calling for food and drinks. I know now where to go in future

Rudest staff I have ever come across in hospitality. I took my 1 year old so and mother concession age to the cafe for ice cream. On arrival I went to the counter and said to my mum to sit down and put the buggy in the corner of the cafe. The women behind the counter shouted at us and said we couldn’t sit down as we only were having ice cream. The tables were only for customers having lunch between 12-2. Weird rule? My mum and son were exhausted and it was raining outside, sitting down would have been much appreciated it. I was very embarrassed and did not say anything but notice other customers looking at me. I ordered the ice cream anyway and the same women aggressively said to my mum to move and move the buggy and she was putting a table into the corner. I told my mum to wait outside and I struggled to pay whilst holding my son. I found it incredibly rude how we were addressed. I left feeling awful, another customer came outside and stated how shocked he was how the staff spoke to us and he said that the staff had very poor customer service when he was being served. I couldn’t agree more and I am glad we did not eat food here. I would have understood if there were lots of people waiting and not enough tables but there were at least two tables available and no one waiting behind us. Ruined my day and my holiday. Will never go back ever.

Coffees great, apple pie very nice and a scone which was either frozen and deforested or not fresh on the day as advertised. The raisins on the outside of the scone were like bullets and the middle powdery. Told the young waitress and she said “ That’s why you get butter and jam” I decided to literally bite the bullet and will never return. Arggggggg!!!!!

Perfect start for a weekend’s walking, Scottish breakfast. The local sausage in particular was absolutely delicious (note: it does come with beans, but I can’t stand them 😂) Good friendly service too and the cakes looked great

Their is two ladies was helpful and explained the items and patient with a good service. There is one guy who is not polite that affects the ratings.

Visited during Bank Holiday weekend visit twice, good quality, well cooked breakfast, hubby had sandwiches and homemade soup, which was very much enjoyed also, didnt try the cakes but looked delicious!

Very small for sitting inside. Also very busy. The apple pie was delicious but the coffee was a bit of a let down. They serve ice cream too but the place is small and the ice cream queue goes right between the tables where people are eating. I couldn't see an obvious solution to the problem but getting hit in the head with a rucksack is a distinct possibility.

Delicious lunch stop!! We stopped for lunch on our bus tour and we filled the shop with our group and we are still talking about how good it was and how friend the workers were!! Highly recommend!

Lovely cosy café, with delicious home-made savouries and cakes. Especially the cheese/caramelised onion quiche so tasty, baked that morning. And whisky/raspberry Arran ice cream is a must try 😋

A picturesque coffee chop in a picturesque town. The prices here are extremely reasonable, the drinks and food are delicious, and the service is excellent. It looks and feels *local* in the best sense of the word. A memorable place!

Stopped off for a lunch on way home from Grantown on Spey. We had 2 cheese & onion toasties, 1 tea and a small Diet Coke. £16. Wee bit pricey considering the surroundings aren’t luxurious. The toilets leave a lot to be desired. I notice from past reviews that customers have given negative reviews regarding them but nothing has changed......why not?? I felt I wanted to wipe my feet when I left the toilet. I realise the coffee shop is very limited for space, but really, a lick of paint and a tidy up would go some way to improving the facilities. Staff were pleasant and the home baking looked good, which is probably the saving grace in Mackenzies.

We were on a bus tour and stopped in Pitlochry for lunch and shopping. This restaurant has excellent choices for a quick lunch. People working in the restaurant are very pleasant and helpful.

No puedo entender cómo este negocio puede tener las pegatinas de tripadvisor. Parada obligada en este pueblo al venir de un tour. Todo cerrado a las 17 de la tarde, un frío terrible y entramos a tomar un café, ya nos contestó fatal diciéndonos que cerraba en 10’, que eran las 16.45 por favor ¡, le decimos que ok. Nos pone el café en un vaso take away, detrás entró el resto de la excursión, unas 15 personas y su cara era un poema. Menuda visión de negocio, que era una excursión y en 30’ nos íbamos. En un momento hizo una buena caja sin merecerlo. Café terroríficamente malo. Lo tiramos según salimos.

I bought an ice cream cone to-go from the nice gentleman. I asked for a local Scottish flavour and he recommended one that resembled whisky. Of course it didn't really taste like whisky. I enjoyed the ice cream while window shopping along the downtown street.

We found this little gem per chance via google as we travelled to Edinburgh from Fortrose, needing a coffee and wee stop! What a find, the most friendly welcome, wonderful coffee and great bacon rolls! One of us had a scone which was a delight!

Family of 6, 3 adults and three kids. We decided to go for the home cooked meal option while in Pitlochry and was desperately disappointed. Food was of the frozen variety. There were two of us who opted for the stovies... the potatoes were still brick hard! (They microwaved and mushed them up and sent back out) both left without eating! The £7/8 burger was also a frozen special so were the skin on chips. One of the group enquiried about the fish and again this was from the freezer. Breakfast was edible but only just. And potato scones were sloppy. All in all we regret choosing here.
