I will always default to a MJ's I have been to most of the restaurants in Scotland and always top notch

the service was good, staff were nice especially Abbie who took our orders and gave our food and drinks.

Great burgers. Took the wee man down and he loved it too.

Took the kids there for a burger after swimming. The burgers were really good. However, there was no ice cream for pudding and the waiter had our plates away before I'd even swallowed my last bite.

Great place for a bite to eat!! The food was great and the service was fantastic! Thanks to our server Holly who really looked after us!

Idiots that run the place seem to think the run street

Booked the festive 3 course meal with sharing barrel of cocktails @ £28pp for 4 of us and I have to say we were over the moon with our whole experience! Santa hats and crackers etc really set the night off. We were particularly impressed on how much value it was for the money and the food definitely did not disappoint, we would highly recommend!

Slow, brought wrong order and charged for food/drinks that didn't arrive. Poor!

Wow...please dont go here if you are in a large group. They have no idea how to process orders, deliver food or drink, or provide customer service. Our large group all ordered their food at approximately the same time, which was about 30 minutes after our first order of drinks...which had not arrived. When drinks were finally brought, it was one at a time by servers that looked and sounded a bit annoyed that we were spending money. We were served 1 drink the whole night, despite asking 3 or 4 times. Food...yes tasty but the wait was ridiculous. My partner and I ordered but our food was delivered an hour apart. The orders were chaos and didn't work, with wrong orders, returns and missing food being normal. By the time of leaving, there were items being charged for that hadn't been delivered, both food and drink. Even though it was argued that orders had not arrived, this place refused to accept they had made a mistake. Yes it was their mistake. Their ordering system was shocking and I feel sorry for those having to deal with this. Without our party this place would have been dead on a Saturday night...I can see why!

Went here 05/11/23 and I must say for how busy the restaurant was and how little staff (two at the front) they handled it very well, food was amazing as always staff friendly even though they were rushed off their feet, would 100% recommend

Stopped in for a quick lunch on the way home from a client visit. quick burger and a juice all of which was exactly as i expected, very tasty.

Second visit & didn't disappoint. Chicken & avocado on a bagel was fabulous. The waiter was very efficient, helpful & friendly

It wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Normally, when we get the food, we're blown away with the quality, but today, it was just an average burger. The service was okay and so was the atmosphere but we did go on a Thursday so I imagine it's better on weekends.

Great food, good drink selection, good background music and horror themed TV clips playing as it was nearly Halloween. Staff were very friendly and my order arrived super quickly. All with pretty views from the window of the older parts of Perth.

Friendly atmosphere with good food

Was in Perth for a meeting with a client, thought I would nip in for a quick lunch as I had 40 minutes on the car left. Table for 1 got myself a Pepsi and a Chilli Dawg. Large portion of food, the bun was nice and soft, very good quality dawg and a flavoursome chilli on the top. Left happy and full. Server Blair was very attentive. Definitely would recommend trying.

Quiet night so only 4 for atmosphere, everything else was great! Staff were brilliant and the food was excellent. Grandson suggestion so glad we agreed, even picking up the bill wasn't so painful!

Loved the decor, service and cleanliness. I had the rack of ribs which included fries, salad, corn, and Cole slaw. All pretty good with a cool presentation on a wooden Plank. Loved the classic rock on the sound system.

Not bad and great vegan menu but pricey for small dishes

As doon as we entered, we could smell that old cooking oil greasy smell had one drink and left.

Great spot for solo lunch. Particularly appreciated the music videos. Gave the place a good buzz.Chicken excellent as usual and even better with the Gin & Jam cocktail!

I rather liked Monterey Jack's but then I like ordering via QR code and paying upfront, it's quicker. I also liked it vibe; dark and rocky, yet lots of families and clean. I actually sat at a solo seat at the back of a literal wagon in the middle of the restaurant. I've a strong suspicion that during the day the outside tables and chairs are way more popular. Monterey Jack's does burgers, hotdogs, nachos and food in that TexMex style. That's a favourite of mine! I went for a chicken burger with mac cheese topping and atomic fries but I also paid more to make it skinny and lower the calories. What I got back wasn't small but I had plenty of room for a dessert later of meringue and ice cream The dessert was the best and the chips a bit of an anticlimax as "atomic" seems to mean with some jalapeno slices. Next time, if I'm back in Perth, I won't hold back and I'll order the nachos.

Les start with the ordering they only do QR code service that’s ok but Wi-Fi doesn’t work so ordered at the bar staff weren’t happy about that coffee was stone cold then ordered food I had chilli nachos sent back as chilli was frozen got a new one same again not happy hotdog very grisly and stale and once again cold went to pay bill and they wouldn’t take the cold food of the bill they took a student discount of £4 of our bill so we paid £60 for cold food and terrible service staff to busy jumping about drinking juice and high fiving each other I won’t be back

We visited 2 days ago this place and I have heard the best about Monterey jacks and I was looking forward to try the food . Unfortunately my experience was unpleasant the service was great but the food disappointing … I ordered the Texas cheese burger and it was saying double cheese double bacon and cheese sauce so I was expecting to be extra cheese but it was dry, the bacon way too crispy and the patty very thin it was like McDonalds quality… I pay 1,5£ for cheese on chips it was just a sprinkle of cheese … and my partner got Mac and cheese and sticky chicken but it was tasteless both .. 40£ to bin

The food was pretty good, was let down the burger a bit. Was just lacking cheese. Said in the description of the burger it was coming with cheese and cheese sauce. The mac n cheese was also a bit tasteless, lots of cream in it

Very good food and reasonably priced

We like it, the only negative aspect being that they are moving towards an app based ordering service, I like to see my money going towards the staff not needless unwanted technology.

The food was good, the staff were friendly but as you ordered through an app we didn't see much of them. The toilets were really poor, no soap or way to dry your hands.

It's a really good place to go for food with friends It has definitely got expensive since I last been there, however the food was great and also great service 🙏

First time here, lovely atmosphere but very dirty. I had a salad with a chicken breast, chicken was dry and very grisly. My hubby's burger was dry and cold. The staff member was more on her phone than attending to customers.

We enjoyed it so much that we returned a second time during our visit to the city. The place is very nice and welcoming, the furnishing style is very interesting. The staff is young and just all fantastic. Embarrassed with the choice of which burger to order. They are all great and so big I didn't know how to hold them. Absolutely a must-try place.

Food was okay? Passable at best. Overpriced as heck: as what it certainly lacks in taste, it makes up for in oily fat. Leaving a lingering greasy sticky like feeling on your teeth. Not very pleasant. The Patties were mediocre: thin. The Guacamole: slimy Shrek green. The Beef Tomatoes were so thin: they were transparent. The Chilli Corn Carne Nachos: decent portion, but it tasted the same: like a jar of sweet salsa. Quite disappointing. The fries? Decent. Overall: it wasn't fresh, and there was no taste. Which is a great shame, and an even bigger waste. The staff however were cheerful and nice. But I would not go again, nor recommend.

Was quiet when I was there but would imagine it's quite lively when busy...Will definitely be back

What a great place this is. We nip in occasionally when in Perth. So needless to say we went here in February. I had a chicken burger and we shared a side of mac and cheese. The food was really nice. The staff were friendly and our guide dog puppy was welcomed in. Great family place to eat

Great food, seems like service / staff always takes a while though. We love this place though decor is nice and kids love it.

Nice restaurant with a very nice ambient and decoration. The food is named very funny too.

Servers clearly don't care. Our table was covered in salt, had an old receipt on it, was dirty, we had no cutlery or napkins, the menus were filthy and it took a while to be served. We could see the servers chatting about something on their phones and we didn't get a smile or a hello from anyone. Just felt like an inconvenience to the staff there - it was 3pm so not busy at all. Food is okay, we weren't expecting anything fancy from a Monterey jacks so I wouldnt complain about the food, just the bad vibes all round.

There was a black curly hair found in the food, it was then insinuated that it was my sisters, who has blonde curly hair as if it was planted lol. Awful service and an awful response to my complaint in the restaurant itself. I paid for what I ordered, including the blue cheese dip that came with the hair in it and left. The starters itself was good quality food but I definitely would not recommend dining here. As it’s possible that you’ll receive unhygienic meal and not even get an apology for their mistake. Just to make it clear, I never asked to be compensated for anything as I’m not a money grabber. Just don’t dine here.

I used to love this place but lately their customer service is terrible. We were waiting to be seated for long time even though restaurant wasn't busy, when we finally got the table waitress just ignored us and talked to people by the table beside who seemed to be her friends. Whan we decided we're not loosing our time and leaving she just took our menus and walked away. Without a word. Food is really good but you need to train your staff.

The staff were so nice and kind. The food had very big servings, starters were full mains, be careful if you are ordering two courses you will be stuffed.

Went into town Tue night place looked busy so thought we’d try it. 2 adults & 2 children. Friendly staff on arrival. Real confusion over clarifying meals so went up to the desk to clarify, Menu pizza, burgers, hot dogs style. Restaurant decor nice. Kids enjoyed their burgers. Pizza was bland but ok. Nacho order completely wrong, made another quite quickly (but was burnt & put off after first one). Cocktail nice. £70. Expensive for what we had & wouldn’t be in a hurry to return.

The food was absolutely incredible from a team who clearly love what they do! It is the type of place you can feel the good vibes in the air as soon as you walked in the door. We have visited MJs in Glasgow a lot of times but this one has blown us away

Came for lunch for 2 people. Restaurant fairly quiet. Could see one staff member at bar. Stood for 5 minutes at door. Found own table. Waited another 5 minutes then asked for a menu at bar. Then waited for another 10-15 minutes but still no service. Had to leave as running out of time for lunch before cinema. Very unimpressed at lack of service/welcome. Won't be back again.

Waiting over 15mins to be served, wasn't very busy and only 1 waitress serving, I'm assuming the manager was behind the bar and she was extremely impolite and rude to the waitress in how she spoke to her, when we approached the woman behind the bar to ask if we could be served she was abrupt and said somone will come when there ready, I would have left but I have a very hungry child who wasn't willing to leave to find another place to eat. Food was lovely when it arrived and hot, but service was terrible

Ordered from here and they got deliveries mixed up with no refund the persons order i received lived in a different town and burger looked very soggy and wet. This was 1st time ordered takeaway and got it completely wrong and would not order from here again especially with the prices not worth it and quite frankly perths a disgrace for food altogether everyone is talking about how bad all the takeaways are in for a place like Perth which is also the most run down town ive also came across

A few of us descended upon the establishment unannounced and were accommodated very quickly! We were very well taken care of and all of our food and drink was exactly as ordered arrived quickly and was delicious! Not a single problem with any part of our experience here!

We did not book but we're accommodated as walk ins. It took longer than expected to be initially greeted and seated. To begin with, it felt quite busy and it was noticeable the pressure this was putting on staff but nonetheless, our orders were taken quickly, food arrived promptly and plates cleared in a timely manner too. Staff were very attentive and friendly. The burgers were excellent. They came with fries included but we upgraded these and got loaded fries too. Will definitely be back 🍔

Nice space, especially at night I think it would be very cosy. Quite a lot of options on the menu- especially vegan and vegetarian. Person who served me said I couldn’t sit upstairs until the bottom part is full- meanwhile a few minutes later people were seated upstairs. As I was there on my own, I asked for the staff to hold my drink at the bar while I’m in the bathroom, and I would pick it up when I was back- when I got back my drink had been sitting on the table unattended. The burger had too much curry sauce to the point where it was hard to eat it with your hands. It may have been a one time unfortunate situation, so I would probably go back.

Popped into the restraunt on the way through Perth. Warm and friendly staff and atmosphere, food was fresh and plentiful. Never been in Monterey Jack's. Left feeling cared for and highly impressed. I know were I am eating on my next trip. We Loved it

Great night/meal out highly recommend good range of cocktails and burgers always a gd night out

For the price my partner paid, the food was below standard. Service was slow, however this was because there was only one member of staff working FOH - if you don't have the staff to run efficiently, then you probably shouldn't open. The chips were clearly refried and the burger looked sloppily made. Also when asked what fries we would like we weren't informed that there would be an extra charge for skin on fries/sweet potato fries. When it came to the bill, there was an extra £1 charge, which wouldn't be a problem however we were so rushed into paying that we didn't even realise this charge was on there until after we had paid as we had not had time to check the bill.

We were 4 adults going for dinner, which was really nice. Good size portions and I think value for money. Ground floor level is wheel chair accessible and a lot of seating outdoors too. No parking as you're in the pedestrian area, but parking nearby. The staff were friendly too.

After a previous trouble free delivery, tonight was highly disappointing. Large order was cancelled without any communication other than when we looked on the app to check why it hadn't arrived. A phone call might have been better as you think your order is placed then sit waiting for it only for it to be canceled half hour after order placed. Just not good enough.

Great place to eat. Vast menu and good service. Food was very good. The restaurant was well kitted out in a US style, with lots of lit up bar signs and other interesting things. Recommended to anyone interested in such places. I believe Scotland has other such eateries as it is part of a chain.

Next to impossible to actually order food from the Perth branch, some days you can find them on just eat, others Uber eats, occasionally deliveroo, but most days of the week you just straight up cannot order food from them because for whatever reason they’re not online. No direct number to order from and no online orders from their website either. Shame too because they’re one of the better places to order from in Perth.

Really tasty burger with slaw and sauce and pickles. Pizza has nice thin crust. Good music playing. It was pretty quiet when we dropped in for lunch, but it looks ready for a party.

I know this might not bother a lot of people, but I have some sensory issues, however other people have agreed with me, especially once they feel the difference ("oh my god that's so much better!"), so who knows. The speakers that play music are crappy quality, which makes the music sound very uncomfortable (piercing) at the volume they play it at. I go there every time I visit perth as I really enjoy the food, and I've always asked for the music to be lowered down just slightly. Most of the time they do it, again, just ever so slightly (but taking it out of the painful range) but for some reason most recently the waitress said that it can't be done... I hope it's not because I got someone in trouble by asking previously! I've tried to be polite about it. Still, if the music can't be turned down just one or two notches for the 40 minutes I'm there, I won't be physically comfortable eating there unfortunately, unless it's warm enough to eat outside. If the volume can't be lowered due to company policy or something, I'd maybe suggest getting speakers that have some bass in them instead? Sorry for causing any hassle, unfortunately at that volume the music is painful for me which ruins the experience. As I said, I enjoy the food there otherwise and I'd still recommend it.

Excellent food and service. In particular Mya, our waitress. She sorted out somewhere quiet for us to sit with our choccy lab and looked after us. Definitely recommend a visit and ask for Mya everytime.

We have visited a few times over the past few weeks and every time we have been in it’s been great. The food is always lovely and the service is always great, Lucy was particularly lovely and great with my kids!

ABSOLUTELY one of the best places to eat if you like burgers or American style food. Not that it's all of that style but seriously the burgers are off the chart good eating. The staff here are great, and the place has a atmosphere to match. Also, the drinks section is pretty good, both alcoholic and non alcoholic. Plus, they have a vegan selection for people who are vegan (you know who they are as I'm sure they have told you already, 😉 just joking, dont come after me for that).

Absolutely fantastic meal. Piping hot, beautiful taste, service was great. Highly recommend
