Blackbird Inn in Perth & Kinross

The last time my better half was in the Blackbird ,was in 1958 when he was 8years old,he went there with his parents,his dad was ex POW who had been in Bulharry Camp,and was released in 1949,my partner William will be 75 next year,and hopes to have his birthday meal in the much changed restaurant,

A beautiful bar with such beautiful people always visit whenever in Scotland

Had a delicious lunch today at the Blackbird Inn. Anne and Jim are lovely hosts! Nothing was too much trouble and as we four adults had 2 infants in tow we needed 2 high chairs. Again, no bother. Would definitely recommend and revisit.

Just back from a birthday lunch. Absolutely fantastic food and service. Couldn't have been better. Really excellent food for the price. Would definitely go back again. Thank you to all!!

Went for an anniversary meal and we were not disappointed. The menu is part best described as no thrills, but it is all well cooked and tasty. I had a homemade broccoli and cheese pasta bake, my wife had crispy chicken. Both very nice, my wife was especially taken by the battered chicken, she loved it. I had a sticky toffee pudding with ice cream for dessert, my wife had alabama fudge cake which was also served with ice cream (both of us could have chosen cream). Both really hit the spot. Christmas decorations were up, they were fantastic, really set the ambience of the place. Kathleen was our server and Ann the chef came out to see us as well, these ladies are the soul of the place and a real asset for the business. We had a very relaxed evening, if that's what you want then try it out.

There is five of us who go round various pubs and restaurants once a month. We all had a lovely meal at the blackbird and the dessert was fabulous and we have all agreed that we will go back just for the apple pie.the waitress was very courteous and made use feel very welcome. A great place to go for food.

A friendly pub and I really enjoyed the food here - I thought it was prepared and served perfectly. Had steak one night, a salad another night and look forward to my next meal there

My wife and I stopped here for lunch - I had the chicken fillets and she had the gammon steak. The food was simple, but good quality ingredients cooked perfectly means we will definitely be back.

Our first visit to the Blackbird inn and I can assure you it won't be my last fantastic pint of 80/sh and the food was well presented and tasted fantastic and piping hot. ok, it's simple fair but well worth it. Staff are really friendly bar area and loos spotless. Would highly recommend a wee visit here 5 star all the way.

We had dinner at the pub and we loved it. Their cooking is excellent: lots of options to try and everything we had was homemade and very well cooked. But the best was the dessert: what an incredible apple pie they serve. The owners and the atmosphere are lovely. Definitely a perfect place for those staying in the camping nearby and seeking for a warm and comfortable dinner.

Super place for a cheeky little beverage while doing a circular walk from Alyth Square. Friendly, knowledgeable bar staff, super clean toilets and a great old-fashioned pub atmosphere makes this place a winner. Great for a solo traveler with a book as well. We only indulged in drams and crisps this trip but have heard good things about the food and are looking forward to eating here next trip. Plenty of parking outside.

The place was absolutely immaculate, and the staff very welcoming, but the menu was so dated and basic, when did you last see fruit juice as a starter?! The majority of the meals were definitely “ping” dinners! I had broccoli, cheese & pasta bake with salad & chips for £17.50, a tadge over priced! My partner had scampi & chips with veg also for £17.50, even though the veg were cooked to perfection the scampi wasn’t good quality. So, on this basis we definitely won’t be returning.

Lovely owners made us very welcome. Food was excellent, very tasty and great value for money. I would highly recommend the home made steak pie. Delicious!

Closest pub to the camp site, and reasonably priced drinks with friendly service. Would recommend popping through on a Saturday night for some live music. The only downfall is the food unfortunately. It's actually extremely cheeky how they charge the prices they do for bland, frozen food. £16.50 for frozen gammon and frozen chips! It's honestly a shame because it seemed like a lovely local pub, I just think the owners are unfortunately exploiting the fact that it's a small village with few options for eating out. If you're staying at the campsite, just cook there or go to the local chippy!

Fantastic meal with good drinks options. Food pricy but good, drinks very reasonable. Very helpful and attentive staff. Do not be put off by the appearance or decor.

We stayed at the fantastic Caravan Park next door and had lunch and tea here, Our Grandaughter and boyfriend came to join us for tea. What can i say we cleared our plates, service was good too. We will return.

Stopped of for dinner having passed on numerous occasions. Certainly wasn't disappointed, food was excellent using fresh local produce and cooked to perfection. Service was great also, I will definitely be back. Highly recommended a visit.

This is a wonderful, local pub. Friendly and welcoming. To put it in simple terms "a good crack". If you want the local feel, then this is the place to go. Did eat in the Restaurant on our last night and glad we did. Scrummy!

We were staying at the adjacent Caravan Park which was excellent. We decided to try out the Blackbird inn for a meal. Rather taken a back by the cost of breaded fish and chips at £16, we thought, oh well it must be good at that price, also on the hand written menu, Tartare Sauce, £1.50 extra per portion!!!!. When the fish and chips arrived we realised that it was frozen fish and overcooked, the chips were nice but oh dear a poor show in a place that is still decorated in the 70s; I know I've been there !! Not good, do not recommend and no, we won't be back, rather go further afield or make our own.

Found this place late in the day and it really was a last resort. We ate in the bar area which was an absolute dive. If we weren't so hungry we would have turned around and walked right out. Decor was very dated, it was brightly lit, no music, no atmosphere. Food was massively overpriced and the menu very basic. Traditional pub grub circa 1985. It was OK - a bit over cooked but the portions were big. Service was good. Would not return even if we were desperate. I still can't believe the prices. £17 for a scampi and chips or ham salad. Outrageous. Paid less in a 4 star hotel.

As others have mentioned, the pub itself is a bit tired and the food expensive, but it makes up for it in portion size and friendly service. I enjoyed my meal there.

We stayed at Five Roads caravan park, The Blackbird Inn was recommended to us to try We had a lovely home cooked lunch there . Would recommend here to anyone looking for a home cooked meal . Staff also very friendly

Expensive for what I got. Friendly staff, dated decor handwritten menu. Not busy. Saturday night and not many bookings. Conveniently right next to campsite. But I would cast my net wider in future I’m afraid.

Popped in with family and had a beautiful meal with a lovely selection of fresh vegetables. A homely and friendly atmosphere and would definitely be back.

Less than impressed by this place. Stayed at the lovely caravan park adjacent and popped in to have a pint before deciding if it was suitable for an evening meal with the kids. No. The smell of stale urine as we entered should have told us to stay away. The lack of interest in taking our drinks order then having to wait for it until the horseracing had finished put us clean off. A tired old boys boozer that needs an overhaul in decor and service. My advice, walk the half mile to the Alyth Hotel.

We stopped for a meal after a day out. Our meal was very well cooked to order by a lovely lady who served it to us with a smile.

We had a lovely meal, and very reasonablably priced. The meat pie was delicious, and the staff were extremely accommodating.

Went in for dinner with my 5 year old son.. as was stayin at nearby caravan park for the night.. owner was lovely and my son helped her set table she spent time chatting to him.. very welcoming.. I had the gammon which was freshly cut and was lovely best I’ve had in a while and son enjoyed sausage from the kids menu.. will Defo be back if in the area again

Stopped at the Blackbird Inn after a hard day in the saddle on a charity cycle run down from Stonehaven. We had been in driving rain and heavy wind all morning and we're greeted perfectly by the staff. Our wet clothes were put in the tumble drier while we were fed a great spread that lifted our spirits hugely. The staff couldn't do more for us and even hustled the punters for donations to our charity. Great homely place and thank you for looking after us!

The home made curry was shredded meat in a sauce from a jar. Very poor. Steak pie meat rather tough. Only cash or cheques accepted. No credit/debit cards. Staff slow but very pleasant.

We visited as a party of 2 adults and 4 teenagers (aged 13-16). There were no other customers in the lounge area where the meals are served but we could hear there were other customers in the bar area - although these in no way interfered with our enjoyment of the meal. We all ordered across a basic but varied menu - e.g. Lasagne, steak pie. Service wasn't the quickest but we weren't in a hurry and the food was cooked fresh and was very tasty.

The wife and I stayed in the 5 Roads Caravan Park next door and came here for our evening meal. The food is excellent and the service is extremely good. All for a very affordable price. We used the restaurant side, which, in January, was quiet, but no less pleasant. I would recommend this pub to anyone.

Second time for lunch in the bar which has more betting punters than diners but the food is ok, it's warm and friendly enough and dog friendly.

We stayed in the Five Roads Caravan Park next door and used the Blackbird Inn for the first time. As we had our dog with us we had to eat in the bar area, but there is a very nice lounge area otherwise.

Stayed at lovely 5 Roads Caravan Park perfect Inn right outside - disappointing experience barman couldn't really be less interested my normal usual drink was not as it should have been? Food was quite nice - but no options of pudding - she took placemats away shut at 8pm!! A man's pub we were told? Such a shame a perfect place that would go hand in hand with caravan park

My wife ended up with the runs service was very slow and over priced and I could of cooked it better my self will not be going again also was pretty unfriendly
