The Fountain in Perth & Kinross

Visited with family twice this week. Good food, reasonably priced and varied menu. Visited many times in the past and always been consistently good. The staff are amazingly friendly and upbeat.

Nice little pub. Good food, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. What else would you need? The place is also dog friendly.

Had used this place for a quick lunch we ate outside and snacks were ok , we went back for dinner as it was a simple menu for 15 people , the pub itself was dirty the toilets were filthy and hot tap water burnt me , the high chair provided was not fit for purpose so we couldn’t use it the baby changing mat was burst and dirty so we also wouldn’t use it so we had to change a baby in the dirty ladies toilet , the staff were lovely and kind shame the establishment let them down as they work hard …shame on the owners

We had great fun in this local bar. Everyone was very friendly, and we enjoyed speaking to the people who live here. Prices were really excellent, compared to the tourist traps nearby.

This was a fantastic wee find in Aberfeldy for us. We were there for my son's stag do. The food was good honest pub grub and absolutely delicious, fairly priced and served quickly. The team in the pub made us feel really welcome and nothing was a bother for them. We would deffo go back again.

Struggling to find a place to eat in the village so popped in here. First impression was it's an ok pub in a small village. I ordered a veggie burger and chips and that's exactly what I got... An old fashioned vegetable burger in a bun and a big portion of chips.... Sometimes plain food is just what you need... No halloumi burgers of sweet potato fries nonsense. Anyway simple food served by an extremely happy and helpful barman made it an enjoyable bite to eat at the end of a day sightseeing. Glad I stopped here. The price is reasonable too!!. Maybe trendier places around if you really need it.

This is an excellent traditional pub in the heart of Aberfeldy serving great beers, wine and food. The no-nonsense menu is terrific value and the dishes are freshly cooked. Lovely outside earing area which you can watch the world go by in the main town square. Highly recommended

Our server was great didn't catch his name but he's a gentlemen with long hair. I had a cheese burger and chips. The burger was delicious and the coleslaw was perfect and crunchy. The cappuccinos are a bit dark for my taste but a bit of sugar and it was perfect. My partners had the fish and chips and the fish was crispy but not greasy and the fish inside was tasty. Id definitely stop by again.

Nice pub for a pint and a whiskey in the center of town - at least if you can sit outside.

Had a beer, nice. I don't think you want to eat here. Plates were returned full with fries on them, so not tasty.

Food was worse than pub food. My son's mac n cheese was served on a side plate. We ended up going for more food afterwards.

Was travelling around so decided to make a stop at aberfeldy looking for somewhere to et stumbled in to the lovely fountain inn, looks welcoming from.the outside and nice atmosphere on the in. The waitress/bar person was promprt at serving the table, and drinks were also produced quickly which then matched the food for speed. The food was well presented we had chicken curry with rice which was a good portion and tasty, it was not to spicy and very filling. On the whole nice place to stop for a pleasant experiance with meal and drinks

My friends and I spent a great afternoon sat outside in the sun having a few beers and watching the world go by. The staff were great too!

We all liked it. The bartender is extremely loud and rock music is playing.

We visited Aberfeldy and looked for a dog friendly place to eat. We had a wonderful meal and the girls made a lovely fuss of our cockapoo! We would definitely go back!!

We stopped by here just passing through and they host was able to sit us and take our orders right away. They were really kind and my husband loved his roast beef and he really enjoyed it. I got the chicken curry and it was just OK. It needed more seasoning.

Good restaurant, a warm welcome, a menu with choice, the dishes are good and plentiful, an inexpensive restaurant.

Great Place to eat and Drink during a visit og Aberfeldy. Friendly and funny staff. Great Food (very good roastbeef and Yorkshire Pudding). Dogfriendly. Enjoyed to eat there every Day during our 3 Day Stop at Aberfeldy!

Food was good and reasonably priced. Barman was excellent, v professional and welcoming. Good atmosphere and great location in this beautiful area. Locals live it. Outside seating available.

Was at loch tay lodges for a week, and went through to this pub, excellent staff and really friendly.

Food is terrible in this run down pub! Disgusting! £50 down the drain! Won't be returning

Oh dear! We visited here as we explored Aberfeldy. The beer - limited choice - and it's the first time I've ever left a pint. I don't know if we just visited on a bad day, but everything felt and looked filthy. The beer tasted awful, and the ambience wasn't great. I wouldn't return.

Good food and drinks at a reasonable price

Lovely little pub bang on the centre of aberfeldy. They have outdoor seating which is fantastic on a sunny day. Service was all very fast and friendly. Also conveniently located a few doors down from a chippy if you want a fish supper after a few pints.

Great place for a delicious beef burger! Cameron was cheerful and wonderful as our waiter! Definitely stop in when you're in the area!

A lovely little stop off for a bloody Mary and stake and ale pie. Cheeky staff bless her only gets outta town now and again to visit gran Caneria and Perth. Thanks for your welcoming hospitality and smiles

Had tea here - steak pie and chilli - both very good. Is pub food but decent pub food at reasonable prices. Surroundings were clean and tidy and well kept - gents toilets were absolutely fine apparently! Young man serving on the floor was pleasant and friendly. Downside was the shocking language used by people - including two young men who were off duty staff - clearly locals. Really unacceptable. We would have stayed to have more drinks but because of this we left and went to another bar up the road. I also don’t like dogs in any eating area - some people though are delighted with dog friendly! Overall we enjoyed our visit and the food and service and would return hoping for a less coarse clientele! Just be aware.

Had a wonderful day out in Aberfeldy exploring and passed this lovely wee pub so popped in for some lunch and received very lovely service from the man who seemed to be running the place. The food was delicious and very filling. We definitely will be back!

Fun atmosphere. It is a great place to meet the friendly local people. You can get something to eat her as well.

Our tour bus had to detour to Aberfeldy where we were stopped for 2 hours waiting out a blizzard and had to find something to do on Dec 27 with a power outage!! We wound up here and we loved it. None of the other restaurants that were open wanted to accommodate us because they got overwhelmed. We ate chili and steak pie, both were excellent, but the service was by far the reason we loved it so much. The waiter took everything in stride and did an amazing job. The locals who were there eating were very friendly, and their dogs too :) If we ever make it back to Scotland this city is at the top of my list now.

The food was nice, good value for money. Felt bad for the new girl taking orders. I think she was super nervous. After another visit for Hogmanay I have to say the bar staff were superb, it's absolutely hoaching but they were fast and friendly.

Lovely venue for lunch..well catered for..excellent friendly staff..especially the bearded memory man..!..top notch..

Before we went to the local cinema we visited this bar/restaurant for a meal. The firewall on and the place was very busy. The food was good and the service was fats and friendly.

Fairly average pub grub. Steak pie was alright but nothing to write home about. Chips were decent and plentiful. Peas and carrots were obviously from a frozen pack. Coffee machine wasn't working and the draught diet coke wasn't producing diet coke. Lassie serving us was on her 3rd shift and seemed to have been abandoned by management. Won't be rushing back.

Not the place to go if you're British, we felt very uncomfortable when IRA songs were played through Alexa, with members of staff singing along. This is not acceptable in a supposedly tourist friendly venue imo. It's a shame they're happy enough to offend and lose customers. We found better more comfortable places to eat in Aberfeldy afterwards.

Went here to get some lunch 3rd day of our holiday in the beautiful village of aberfeldy, we were eating our food when the wolftones song came on "Chucky Ar La" sing "up the Ra" the staff were singing along like it was a nice wee melody, we couldn't finish our food or drink so we immediately paid the bill, they were happy to accept the kings great British pound, this bar/restaurant is advertised as a friendly family place but there should be a sign outside stating that British & tourist are not welcome, on a more positive note though dogs are welcome maybe because there's no affiliation, absolutely disgusting.

Great little spot right in the center of Aberfeldy. Relaxing, enjoyable, dog super friendly... Bartenders are friendly and informative, enjoyable experience all around.

Just not a very good experience unfortunately. The outside of the pub in the town square looks lovely and would be a great place for a drink in the sun. We went inside for food though and were hoping to watch the rugby which was on many of the pub's screens. Food was ok at best - no real thought or effort went in to it. Then mid rugby game (which was being watched by a good number of customers) a tribute act singer began a sound check then into her set. Nobody seemed to be there to watch her but lots were to watch the now impossible to watch rugby. Disapointing. Also, despite a range of 6 lagers on tap, there were no real ales. Worth avoiding

Great wee place very friendly staff esp the young lady with the ladys rugby team top on, very wellcomming, Very friendly, great food at very good prices, first class service, The young lady was more than happy to have a quick chat about who the team was on her top was when my self and my friend asked we even learned what ground they play at The young guy who severed the food was really friendly as well We was both made to feel very welcomed from the moment we walked in the door great attmospher staff down to earth as well Even heard some great 80 rock classics on the juke box really made my day

Honestly, what a great place. Stayed in Aberfeldy over the weekend in a nearby hotel which did not serve food. Not a problem, The Fountain Bar does..and my goodness the food is fab. The atmosphere is so friendly as were the staff, Tommy especially :) my dog, Odin the black lab, liked him loads after the treats. Aberfeldy is a lovely small town and is lucky to have The Fountain Bar in the Square

We were welcomed here by the staff who helped us get our drinks outside. One of our party was blind so couldnt manage the stairs up to the bar. Very helpful indeed and we hope your broken finge rs heal soon!

Something about the vibe of this place that just doesn’t sit well with me. There is a big difference between being chill and nonchalant. Staff made no effort to welcome me. Bar tender didn’t make any eye contact. The tone of voice used to thank me for me my custom said something entirely different. This place needs new management.

Overpriced microwaved food; received the wrong drink order when it was correct the glass was dirty and the Diet Coke was flat. Then we received the wrong food order; when we received the correct one I had a hair in mine- zero apologies given.

For a relaxed casual dinner you don't have to look any further than here, a great menu for kids and adults, really reasonably priced in a warm atmosphere with super friendly staff who even when run off their feet couldn't do enough for you.

I was really disappointed in the quality of the food after reading the reviews on here. I had two specials (fish cakes and cod goujons), and both were average pub food at best. The fish cake was mushy with a lot of potato and the cod goujons were more like glorified fish fingers. On the plus side the staff were great and helpful and the pub was clean and seemed to cater for locals and visitors.

While waiting at the bar to see what soup was in witnesses a waitress give 4 dogs treats then went straight behind the bar to serve a custom without washing her hands.....so needless to say turned and walked straight out....due to basic hygiene not being followed you have lost out and what would have easily been £100 bill....would have have been o stars but had to pick 1 to leave feed back

We are here midweek. Every table inside was already taken, so we ate outside. From listening to the accents, it seemed a popular place with the locals, which is always a good sign. The food was good, and extremely well priced.
