The Fountain in Perth & Kinross

Had tea here - steak pie and chilli - both very good. Is pub food but decent pub food at reasonable prices. Surroundings were clean and tidy and well kept - gents toilets were absolutely fine apparently! Young man serving on the floor was pleasant and friendly. Downside was the shocking language used by people - including two young men who were off duty staff - clearly locals. Really unacceptable. We would have stayed to have more drinks but because of this we left and went to another bar up the road. I also don’t like dogs in any eating area - some people though are delighted with dog friendly! Overall we enjoyed our visit and the food and service and would return hoping for a less coarse clientele! Just be aware.

Had a wonderful day out in Aberfeldy exploring and passed this lovely wee pub so popped in for some lunch and received very lovely service from the man who seemed to be running the place. The food was delicious and very filling. We definitely will be back!

Fun atmosphere. It is a great place to meet the friendly local people. You can get something to eat her as well.

The food was nice, good value for money. Felt bad for the new girl taking orders. I think she was super nervous. After another visit for Hogmanay I have to say the bar staff were superb, it's absolutely hoaching but they were fast and friendly.

Our tour bus had to detour to Aberfeldy where we were stopped for 2 hours waiting out a blizzard and had to find something to do on Dec 27 with a power outage!! We wound up here and we loved it. None of the other restaurants that were open wanted to accommodate us because they got overwhelmed. We ate chili and steak pie, both were excellent, but the service was by far the reason we loved it so much. The waiter took everything in stride and did an amazing job. The locals who were there eating were very friendly, and their dogs too :) If we ever make it back to Scotland this city is at the top of my list now.

Lovely venue for lunch..well catered for..excellent friendly staff..especially the bearded memory man..!..top notch..

Before we went to the local cinema we visited this bar/restaurant for a meal. The firewall on and the place was very busy. The food was good and the service was fats and friendly.

Great pub for food and a drink very welcoming

Fairly average pub grub. Steak pie was alright but nothing to write home about. Chips were decent and plentiful. Peas and carrots were obviously from a frozen pack. Coffee machine wasn't working and the draught diet coke wasn't producing diet coke. Lassie serving us was on her 3rd shift and seemed to have been abandoned by management. Won't be rushing back.

Nice wee Central var was there for North Taylor Cup game nipped in for 1 drink OK staff very friendly

Not the place to go if you're British, we felt very uncomfortable when IRA songs were played through Alexa, with members of staff singing along. This is not acceptable in a supposedly tourist friendly venue imo. It's a shame they're happy enough to offend and lose customers. We found better more comfortable places to eat in Aberfeldy afterwards.

Had a great pub lunch here today. Really nice friendly atmosphere and service. My dogs were made to feel very welcome. 😁👍

Went here to get some lunch 3rd day of our holiday in the beautiful village of aberfeldy, we were eating our food when the wolftones song came on "Chucky Ar La" sing "up the Ra" the staff were singing along like it was a nice wee melody, we couldn't finish our food or drink so we immediately paid the bill, they were happy to accept the kings great British pound, this bar/restaurant is advertised as a friendly family place but there should be a sign outside stating that British & tourist are not welcome, on a more positive note though dogs are welcome maybe because there's no affiliation, absolutely disgusting.

Great little spot right in the center of Aberfeldy. Relaxing, enjoyable, dog super friendly... Bartenders are friendly and informative, enjoyable experience all around.

Just not a very good experience unfortunately. The outside of the pub in the town square looks lovely and would be a great place for a drink in the sun. We went inside for food though and were hoping to watch the rugby which was on many of the pub's screens. Food was ok at best - no real thought or effort went in to it. Then mid rugby game (which was being watched by a good number of customers) a tribute act singer began a sound check then into her set. Nobody seemed to be there to watch her but lots were to watch the now impossible to watch rugby. Disapointing. Also, despite a range of 6 lagers on tap, there were no real ales. Worth avoiding

The food portions were too small for fish and chips. The burger was tiny. Not worth the price. Better places around

Great wee place very friendly staff esp the young lady with the ladys rugby team top on, very wellcomming, Very friendly, great food at very good prices, first class service, The young lady was more than happy to have a quick chat about who the team was on her top was when my self and my friend asked we even learned what ground they play at The young guy who severed the food was really friendly as well We was both made to feel very welcomed from the moment we walked in the door great attmospher staff down to earth as well Even heard some great 80 rock classics on the juke box really made my day

Honestly, what a great place. Stayed in Aberfeldy over the weekend in a nearby hotel which did not serve food. Not a problem, The Fountain Bar does..and my goodness the food is fab. The atmosphere is so friendly as were the staff, Tommy especially :) my dog, Odin the black lab, liked him loads after the treats. Aberfeldy is a lovely small town and is lucky to have The Fountain Bar in the Square

Nice pub average prices. Friendly staff. Good food. Toilets flushing is unpredictable. Nice outdoor seating area with umbrellas

We were welcomed here by the staff who helped us get our drinks outside. One of our party was blind so couldnt manage the stairs up to the bar. Very helpful indeed and we hope your broken finge rs heal soon!

Wir waren auf unserer Schottlandreise 2 Mal hier essen. Gibt nichts zu beanstanden. Sehr freundliches Personal. Essen immer schnell erhalten in Anbetracht was wir bestellten. Coole Pommes, ca. 15mm dicke und gut frittiert. (Swiss)

Something about the vibe of this place that just doesn’t sit well with me. There is a big difference between being chill and nonchalant. Staff made no effort to welcome me. Bar tender didn’t make any eye contact. The tone of voice used to thank me for me my custom said something entirely different. This place needs new management.

Great food, good value, prompt and friendly service.

Overpriced microwaved food; received the wrong drink order when it was correct the glass was dirty and the Diet Coke was flat. Then we received the wrong food order; when we received the correct one I had a hair in mine- zero apologies given.

For a relaxed casual dinner you don't have to look any further than here, a great menu for kids and adults, really reasonably priced in a warm atmosphere with super friendly staff who even when run off their feet couldn't do enough for you.

I was really disappointed in the quality of the food after reading the reviews on here. I had two specials (fish cakes and cod goujons), and both were average pub food at best. The fish cake was mushy with a lot of potato and the cod goujons were more like glorified fish fingers. On the plus side the staff were great and helpful and the pub was clean and seemed to cater for locals and visitors.

While waiting at the bar to see what soup was in witnesses a waitress give 4 dogs treats then went straight behind the bar to serve a custom without washing her hands.....so needless to say turned and walked straight out....due to basic hygiene not being followed you have lost out and what would have easily been £100 bill....would have have been o stars but had to pick 1 to leave feed back

We are here midweek. Every table inside was already taken, so we ate outside. From listening to the accents, it seemed a popular place with the locals, which is always a good sign. The food was good, and extremely well priced.

Excellent bar meals and good service at very reasonable prices. Very friendly staff. You can eat outside or inside. There is a large choice of meals with a choice of accompaniments. Unfortunately the toilets are not very accessible.

Stopped in here for a beer and a bite while filming a car camping & kayaking trip video for my YouTube channel More Than Just a Cleaner. Staff were polite and friendly and the food was good. I had Steak Pie with chips and my friend had chicken curry. We both enjoyed what we had 👍😊

On a scale of 1-10 about 5, fish is not freshly cooked and breadcrumb!!! Waitress could do with customer service training and learning how to smile, We will definitely not be going back Sorry we both would not recommend any dishes.

Went on Saturday night I has lasagne which imo wasnt brilliant but edible Hubby had a burger which he said was really good They accommodated us for a table They didnt have a live band which they have had in the past which was a bit disappointing Would still go back

Ich hatte einen Chickenburger bestellt. Ich bekam ein trockenes Brötchen mit einem "Hähnchen"-Teil aus der Fritteuse. Keine Sauce, kein Salat, kein gar nichts auf dem Burger. Eine Beleidigung.

Poor this time round. Usually a good stop for food with a good location but when we stopped in for dinner tonight the barmaid made us feel like we were a complete inconvenience being there. Was far too interested in talking and smoking outside with the locals got the order wrong and was just generoloy rude. If this was my business I'd be expecting a lot better from my staff. If my money isn't good enough I'll happily go to one of the other pubs in the village in future.

Eine urigen Kneipe für Einheimische. Einfaches Essen, gutes Currychicken, leider trockener Burger. Freundliche Leute und gute Musik. Wir waren 5 Std. dort, sagt alles...

This pub was obviously popular as there were many locals as well as visitors. The food was OK but not exciting. Service was reasonable bearing in mind that they seemed to be short-staffed. The barman who may have been the owner was down to earth and really friendly.

Visited today for dinner. Food was delicious and fresh. Had our dog with us and we were made very welcome. Even asked for a kids meal for her and they couldn't have been more helpful. Sorry I didn't get the two young ladies names but they were fantastic. Also the gentleman that was working at lunch time when I stopped in to check it was ok to bring the dog in the evening, couldn't have been more friendly. Would definitely recommend and will be back next time we visit Aberfeldy

Excellent wee pub. Small but perfectly formed menu. The Mac cheese and veg curry were excellent. Waiter / Batman really friendly and helpful. Definitely stop here for refreshments! (Would be even better if they had garlic bred with melted cheese 😉)

Great local bar. Staff were very friendly and great with our kids. Very good selection of drink and food. The food was superb. Clean plates all around! Dog friendly.

Good simple bar food cooked well with very pleasant and helpful host also noticed children eat for £1.00 accompanied by an adult.

Great wee pud, staff really friendly. Bonus of having the log fire on when it was snowy and cold outside. Dog friendly which is a bonus, food was traditional and delicious. Hopefully be back soon.

After a good hike you want to get a cherry on top - proper pub classic! This is surely the case here! Additionally and not less importantly, this is a very lovely wee place to bring your four-legged pets in, I like it. The atmosphere is great, apparently they light up the fireplace in winter! I will be coming back here for sure! For those seeking for parking, Aberfeldy has plenty to offer, even in town centre.

Great place and great atmosphere and food

Friendly, efficient staff, nice food and atmosphere. Would have been a 5 star review except that the veg with the steak pies was NOT fresh. Shame it was tinned peas and carrots, would not have been a huge thing to provide a bit of broccoli etc. Nice wine which makes a change, most pubs don’t serve the best wine but couldn’t complain about the wine here. Everything took a looooong time. From the waiters taking the orders from the food being prepared. We had three times the same dish (Fish and Chips) but they didn't manage to bring them all at the same time, instead two of us had to wait five minutes after the first plate was brought. The waiters were neither very attentive nor friendly. For the quality offered, everything was too expensive.

Excellente ambiance musicale digne d’un pub. Service rapide et agréable. Seul point noir et pas des moindres : la nourriture. Habitué des plats pub traditionnels, j’ai été très déçu par le fish and chips, qui était un vulgaire poisson pané surgelé, vraiment dommage. Côté décoration on peut mieux faire.

Very nice lunch in a great location in the town . Guy who served us seemed to be on his own for a while , but did well, and was friendly and efficient. Would recommend 👌
