Broxden Farm - Farmhouse Inns in Perth & Kinross

We have been going to Broxden for many years. Their buffet knocks spots off any of their competitors in the city including the Maltings whose breakfast was appalling. This venue has been a weekly visit with my mother in law for a long time. The staff although somtimes under unexpected pressures always find a solution. They have been a pleasure and we will not find this level of service anywhere else. Greene King this is not a good move.😢😢😢

Staff was very kind, Danny took care of our table and my elderly grandparents very well. Was very friendly and had a nice wee conversation with us, very good service

Staff could do with a bit better training in customer relations. The chef at the carvery had a face on like a bulldog chewing a wasp never spoke made you feel like you were a bother to him Kenny was his name. Food was lovely though and the lassie behind the bar was really friendly and helpful, toilets were rather untidy too.

Myself and wife just been turned away from Broxden carvery. Apparently not taking any walk ins due to a large party of 40 people. Been coming here for years, every Saturday morning and sometimes during the week. Have left several good reviews recommending the establishment and the staff in the past. Supported them after covid. I could see plenty of tables unoccupied. No good coming here on the spur of the moment which we have done so many times over the years. Always had a laugh and bit of a banter with the staff, especially Michael that works so hard cooking on a Saturday morning. Looked like new member of staff was on a power trip. Stay away unless you book.

As a regular customer (visit at least once a week), my husband and I decided to have a carvery tea tonight. On arrival we were informed by a new member of staff that they would not take any 'walk ins' as they had a party of 54 customers at the time. We could see several empty tables, and it was just two of us, so really don't understand the reason behind this decision. Very disappointed regular customer!! 😒

Had a few spare hours in the morning with the other half and decided we’d go for some breakfast. Wasn’t disappointed. £8 per head for the buffet breakfast, given how hard it is for businesses to stay afloat, that’s a brilliant price. Plenty of choice too, and the food was tasty. Staff were very friendly and helpful too. Will most definitely be back in the near future 🙂

Order came out wrong. Then replaced with only 1 meal when it should of been too. Presentation of the dish was nothing like previous times we had been. Other meals were as they should be.

When we walked in we were greeted by a host who seemed like he didn’t want to be there. Grabbed a kids menu and basically scrumpled it up and put it on the table. Food was okay. Had the chip shop meal, chips and curry sauce were lovely but the fish and sausage were burnt. Kids food was fine and a decent size portion. Saw online that it was kids eat free but no mention of this deal in-store and paid full price for all the food. This was the main reason we came here in the first place. Waiting staff were rushed off their feet for a rather quiet Tuesday night. Felt bad for them as the manager eventually started helping them serve food after standing at the bar watching the chaos. Ordered 2 kids ice creams and a sundae through the app which then took 35 minutes to come to the table. After 20 minutes I had asked where the ice creams were to be told they’ll be “there in a second they’re just being made”. 15 minutes later they eventually came after I approached the staff a second time to ask where they were. No offer of a refund or anything. All in all, great place for the kids but terrible experience for a paying customer. Used to go here often and it was great so I’m quite disappointed with this experience.

Very grateful that the team could fit our family group of 8 in (spur of the moment visit while travelling home). Food was lovely. Ordered online - very easy. Carvery was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed by those who had it. Those who didn’t have carvery, their food arrived really quickly and they enjoyed it. Husband loves the giant eclair to take home and was disappointed to hear they’d none left after ordering it online but alas, the team managed to find pastry and made him one. Needless to say he left delighted 😁. Lovely atmosphere and staff all friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back next time we are in the Perth area. Many thanks ☺️

Staff were very helpful, & the service was fast & great. I had the tomato & red pepper soup, which was really nice. My daughter had gammon & eggs, which she also said was great. For dessert, she had ice cream & and was really pleased when they said they had no vanilla, but the alternative was clotted cream, which she said was fine. She enjoyed it & stated she was glad they had no vanilla left. I had the apple crumble and Custard, which was also delicious.

We spend over 2 hours in here mostly waiting for the food...Firstly the queue to a bar was so long that we decided to order online ,in the meantime we went for a coffee and ask for the confirmation of our order, it didn't go through,although payment did...after successful order at the bar we got starters and mains in a reasonable time, however we waited 45 mins for desserts. We also ordered rhubarb lemonades that tasted like water, we returned them. Our fries were very dry, custard on the dessert tasted powdery. Chicken hamburger and fish was tasty. It seemed like the atmosphere was very chaotic, some staff was apologetic, some seemed to not care at all. Considering the restaurant was not busy at all we didn't really understood it. This wasn't our first visit here, but after every visit it seems getting worse.

Was there for a family lunch and the staff were fantastic, very clear in confirming our order, happy and pleasant. We had forgotten a jacket so went back and they had safely stored it for us. Food was lovely too but the service was great

Waited till 08.10 this morning with colleges and it didn't open!!! No notices no answered phone....

Great breakfast today. Looked after very well by Danny who was very friendly and attentive from the moment we arrived. Will definitely be back again soon.

The carvery was good with soft drinks at reasonable prices. I took a small portion which was good especially when allowed to go back foe more veg. There was a giant chocolate éclair there for £5.99 which would have fed all 5 of us for dessert, but too full. A bit noisy due small children.

On arrival we were greeted by Jacob, he was so warm, kind and very welcoming, he even asked how we were and how our day had been on our way to our table! He was so helpful and cared for us well through our visit. It was our first visit to this place so his welcome was definitely noticed and apprehended will 110% be back! I was sad to head that managers don’t get tips coz of a new law because he deffo deserves some as he was grafting hard! He was clearing tables and helping other staff members too which is unusual too see with senior members of staff! He definitely is an asset to your establishment and deserves this good review as does the rest of the team the lady that served us also was lovely too!

Friendly welcome as soon as we entered the building. Jacob's customer service is an asset to the Farmhouse Inn. We will definitely be back. We chose this for a business meeting and it was a relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was yuuuuuummy and couldn't do enough. Veggie sausages delivered to the table within minutes 😋

Camped just down the road for the night after a 5 hour journey, walked the 20 minutes down to the pub for tea and the best carvery of my life the turkey was as white as snow and the roast potatoes were to die for, it was that good that we went the morning after for breakfast, a buffet breakfast with everything you need from the classic Scottish haggis to a Yorkshire pudding, we couldn’t fault the food the service or anything, would definitely go back again if we were ever near

the extra pigs in blankets for both orders were missing, Yorkshire puddings were burned and food was lukewarm. still filling though. garlic bread was only great thing out of the whole order. wish we had option to choose what Veg comes in the order too rather than a mix.

We had a carvery and a burger whilst waiting for our car being serviced across the road. The carvery meat was so dry. I was tempted to asknif it had been left from the night before. The vegetables on the hot plate were also dry almost as if they had been there wither since opening or the chef takes no pride in maintaining the food under the heat, they certainly were not stirred for a long time. Partners burger was fine. Atmosphere wasn't great, we had tk out our jackets on as the air conditioning I believe was up full blast, our napkins were flapping on the table and had to be placed under our plates. We requested it be turned down or off but nothing happened and we spent more than half of our time chittering. In comparison to competitiors Marstons this venue really lacked on every level.

Great experience. After 3 days working away from home it was fantastic to have some hot home cooked food. From ringing to book a table to arriving, drinks, carvery and an opportunity to try the new ' feature' cake everything was fantastic. The staff were so friendly and professional, bar staff, serving staff and chef.

The Scottish Steak Pie is one of the best We've ever tasted, 100% recommend I had Chips the Had Mash, Lovely Gravy and nice puff pastry lid, will definitely be back

Went here on Sunday for breakfast very disappointed everything on buffet was cold orange juice felt as though there was grit in it heard someone asking for jam staff replied no jam here not very professional wouldn't go back

Another lovely meal at broxden - went for the carvery and as usual Callum and Yasmin looked after us impeccably - this is the best value anywhere in Perth for a meal out in Perth - nowhere else competes

Been stood in queues now for nearly an HR absolutely shocking service. Not enough staff had to wait in line doubled up outside toilet door!!!!!!!!

We were served by a jovial young man Danny, whose banter entertained us throughout lunch! We each opted for the standard Carvery, which was very tasty and more than enough food! We definitely recommend!!

Accidentally came across this while our car was charging on the way to Manchester. Danny was exceptional in his customer service, greeted us on the arrival and explained everything about the menu. Friendly staff and food was great too. As we were the first customers for Lunch time carvery on a weekday, we had the fresh produce of the day. Carvery was delicious. Would recommend to anyone heading that way.

Food was cold some stuff was missing

Have been to Dyce farm in Aberdeen lots of times but broxden farm was far better in terms of staff and food served. Will definitely come in again when travelling past and need a stop off.

Paid for 6 extra Yorkshire puddings and pigs in blankets at £1.50 each and did not receive them and also portions were MUCH smaller than usual! The box was much smaller!

My husband and I are staying in Perth for a wedding we fancied a roast dinner this place was recommended to us by the hotel reception must say I could not fault it the food it was lovely we both had a carvery the price was very reasonable and the bonus for us as Aa breakdown members we received a discount so I have rebooked for Sunday before we go home we’ll done to you all

Had a great meal the other day here when visiting with family, the 3 staff we dealt with were super friendly and helpful across all areas (service/info/chat), created a great atmosphere We all had 3 courses and even took some cakeaway Big shoutout and thanks to the 3 staff - Abbey,Kimber and Brogan!
