I discovered the wonderful Tea Garden at Comrie Croft when out for a drive. Easy parking. Very friendly staff. Beautifully presented, delicious cakes and bakes. Extremely clean and tidy. Lovely, lovely coffee. Great to be able to sit inside or out. The staff are wonderful with nice chat and local information. Will definitely return and can recommend highly to everyone.
The whole experience was an absolute delight! We were running a bit late, but Matilda was incredibly kind—she waited for us and made sure we didn’t feel stressed for a moment. Being welcomed with drinks and snacks in the garden immediately set the tone: peaceful, thoughtful, and as if we were visiting a dear friend’s home.
The food was exceptional. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. The sauces were exquisite, and while it’s hard to pick favourites, the fish and the ramen stood out for me—they were simply unforgettable.
We stayed overnight, and the room was perfect. Every detail was high-end, from the luxurious bed linens to the curated washroom products and the carefully chosen tea selection.
Highly recommended—we truly hope to return!
Craig and Mark were so welcoming and friendly, and the food was delicious. The fruit scone with clotted cream and jam was divine, and the scrambled egg on brown toast was buttery, hot, and so tasty. I would definitely stop by George St Tea Rooms again!
Outstanding food and service . This is our second visit to this restaurant and the new manager has made a massive difference to the ambiance of the restaurant. The food was exceptional , the paired wines were exquisite and the service impeccable. Highly recommend this restaurant.
What an amazing place, the owners Scott and Steph supported by Katie gave us an amazing experience from start to finish. We were invited into cosy and relaxed lounge area to take as much time as we liked before dinner with every drink you can imagine. We were blessed with an appearance of stags and deer outside that freely roam the estate. When we decided to move into the restaurant Steph the chefs cooking - wow !!!!!- every chosen and surprise course was incredible. We’ve eaten out a lot but nothing compared to the quality of the cooking here - it all worked so well. Their thoughtfulness and inclusivity when it came to my wife’s gluten free alternatives was the best we’ve experienced where every course, even some to nibbles had a gluten free option. Throughout the evening Katie and Scott were amazingly attentive, and Scott also gave his time to educate and allow us to try some of the amazing collection of whiskeys. Blown away by the whole experience and thank you so much. There’s a station just outside this remote restaurant and the thought of taking a sleeper up for a few days is one we’ve started looking into already.
What a gem of a Cafe! My wife and I have been to this Cafe a few times and on each occasion have been delighted with the service and excellent tasty food. We have tried the soups, casserole, muffins, brownies and sandwiches which are all absolutely delicious 😋 Nicola, James and Elsie are superb hosts and provide a Cafe with charm, friendly atmosphere and great fare 🙏👍😃
Cannot fault the pizza - it’s delicious! Nice staff and a good service.
Loses a few stars as it’s not dependable. Don’t get yourself excited for a pizza takeaway in Crieff as good chance it’ll be closed. Devastating. Closed more than it’s open.
I haven’t had such a tasty well made sandwich like the one I had today in a very long time! It was so full of ingredients but didn’t fall to bits due to the high quality amazing bread used. My husband said the same, he also had an amazing piece of carrot cake. Lovely staff and wee dogs, was amazed ours settled quickly as she’s normally super anxious with other dogs coming up to her but she was totally fine with them. Will defo pop back in next time we take a drive out.
Popped in for lunch when passing. Far better than adequate, lovely soup, good coffee, tempting bakes, pleasant staff, nice ambience, clean toilets, good value.
Wandering around whilst my wife stranded a lunchtime meeting today & dropped upon this gem.
A glass of Portuguese Pinot Noir served at a perfect temperature and a cheese board of exceptional quality made killing time an absolute pleasure.
Nice little menu and could easily spend many hours in here.
Thankyou
My wife and I visited Dunkeld and Birnam after attending a wedding in the area and, after hearing about a bookshop in Birnam, wanted to make sure we visited before heading home.
What a fantastic bookshop! We spent ages browing through the superb collection of books - both of us taken with the large range of art and photography books. Even though they were all second hand, the condition was immaculate. The prices for books that essentially looked new was another bonus, being far less than I initially thought. Needless to say we both left very happy with a stack of books between us. Icing on the cake was a coffee to take away (talking of cake, there was cake as well, but sadly after filling ourselves up with our hotel breakfast we couldn't bring ourselves to try any). Service was faultless as well and very pleasant.
Will definitely be back next time we're in the area.
