Chatni Fine Indian Dining in Perth & Kinross

Just a very good and consistent quality of Indian food served…. Try a few dishes but I reckon one of the best Pathia dishes I’ve ever eaten.

Quality of food and service is superb. I live way outside of the area, but the small village of Methven is now gold star highlighted as a place to eat.

We have had several meals here and takeaways, the service is always excellent and the food is always beautiful and good portions it is most definitely the best quality food we have had from an Indian restaurant and we love Indian food a lot would not go anywhere else for a takeout or sit in meal

We had a rare night without any children, so took the opportunity to try somewhere different for dinner. It was mid-week, so not too busy. The restaurant was cosy with a relaxing atmosphere. There was a large menu, but we made good choices and our food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and we got chatting away to them. Great location, easy parking, hope to be back again soon.

Any visit to Chatni in Methven always means that you will experience excellent food and super Staff. Highly recommended.

We are devotees of Indian cuisine, having consumed for over 50 years! Hand on heart, we had the best curries we have EVER tasted here on 30th July. Presentation, subtlety of flavours, choice in menu... just outstanding! Food was incredibly hot to the table, absolutely cooked to order. Excellent chapatti.. The two gentlemen serving were so welcoming, and completely professional. Attention to detail all the way. BIG portions.. we were given containers to take the leftovers away ( without asking for them!)... we just couldn't fit it all in!! Can't wait to go back!

Great Indian food! We cane from Germany and tried many Indian foods there but nothing tasted so good like this one here! Also cozy inside with nice interior, perfect service and fair prices.

Well what to say here. On arrival the host was amazing was happy to have a laugh and engage with his customers. After ordering our drinks and states the host was talking about where we were from which you don’t normally get else were. The starters we just a portion of Chicken Pakora which so juicy and full of flavour and the sauce to accompany was out of this world. Mains - ordered were a Chicken Karachi, Lamb Passanda and Lamb Masala. The lamb was cooked to perfection it fell apart while cutting which shows not only the quality but the cooking skills of their chefs. As a family we had a lovely time and have recommended this amazing Indian to a few friends already.

Consistently incredible food over the last five years. I lived in Edinburgh before Perthshire, and nothing there compares to Chatni.

Tried this indian for the first time after reading the goof reviews, and seen as we were in the local area and hungry, it sounded ideal. We ordered takeaway in person and were told they had received lots of takeaway orders so our order will take an hour. So fair enough. We went away and return just after an hour later, only to have to wait another 15 minutes for our order. The staff were pleasant enough and clearly busy, but we were hoping that after giving them an hour to cook the food we could grab and go so to speak. When we got back with our food. Portion sizes were very good. Food looked nice. However, the tandoori chicken was still pink and under cooked. Bombay allo was the most strangest thing ever, I'm sure it had some kind of scrambled egg in it, yet strangely it worked and was tasty. Nann breads were really big and tasty, however the bag was very greasy. Overall I've definitely had better indian food in my time. Not sure I would be willing to return with receiving pink chicken either, which was extremely disappointing. Not to mention dangerous.

Super good meal, all of it. I had the fish curry (my go to if it’s in the menu) and it is prob the best fish curry I’ve had. The staff are really friendly and natural. Wish I lived closer but I will travel to have a meal here in future

We ordered a takeaway meal for 2, something we do every month or so. It is always amazingly good with very interesting dishes, quite different to what is available at other Indian/Bangladeshi restaurants in the area. It is unquestionably the best for miles around. I cannot recommend Chatni too highly, for the quality of the food and the helpfulness and courtesy of the manager and staff.

We enjoyed a fantastic meal on Sunday 24th September. My partner had vegetable masala and I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken tandoori on the bone. Our starters were equally amazing (vegetable pakora and chicken puri). Wonderful service with great attention to detail. Highly recommended!

5 star food and 5 star service. Stopped at Chatni for dinner while travelling north. We enjoyed the best Indian meal we have had in a long time and would highly recommend. Future trips north will definitely include a stop here for another wonderful meal.

Have never left a review for a restaurant before but felt that the whole experience was amazing and deserving of a 5 start review. My husband, son and I had the most delicious meal last night. Our first time visiting Chatni's and we are so glad we did. The menu offers a variety of options and the staff were on hand and informative when selecting meals to meet our preferences (our 11 year old fussy eater ordered his first indian meal of Chicken Tikka, and he loved it). The service was exceptional, staff are friendly and attentive. We couldn't fault any part of the night. Thank you again for a great evening, we will definitely be back. Jodie, Chris and Zac.

We left it far too long before returning here for a fantastic dinner. Everything from start to finish was amazing. The welcome - the service - the food all excellent….tasty fresh and authentic too. Well worth the drive over from Auchterarder and we will be back soon. (The couches as you go in are very soft and comfortable but it’s ok because the manager will offer to help you up if you get stuck)

Booked a table due to reading some excellent reviews. We were staying in Perth and took a 15 min taxi ride to the restaurant. Parking is on the street, so I'm glad we opted for a taxi. The service was outstanding, and the food was delicious. We tried some dishes that we wouldn't normally try and weren't disappointed. Staff were attentive, extremely friendly, and very welcoming. They have many regular customers, which speaks volumes about their consistently high standards. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough and if we are every back in the area we will definitely be back. A ++
