Spice Garden Indian Restaurant in Perth & Kinross

This is a lovely restaurant, it always seems to be quiet when we pick up takeaway from here, so we decided to come for a proper meal! Our waitress was lovely and very friendly, and the prices are reasonable too. Will definitely be coming back.

Have had a few meals from here always superb really helpful and friendly staff and excellent value for money. Would highly recommend (Bridge of Earns hidden gem)

The food was delicious. Service good. Two young folk working who were trying very hard to get it all right. Well done to them. The boss Mel was very professional and friendly. The decor is dated, and the restaurant lacks atmosphere. However we enjoyed our meal. Portions were large and hot. Would definitely go back.

Staying at rossie Ochil ordered a delivery was super fast and the meal was absolutely delicious. Will definitely order again.

Food has always been fantastic and tasty. We waited over 2 hours for delivery I called after 1.75 hours and was told the food had just left this was fine it was a Friday and could have been busy. I called again after 2 hours to be told the food was on my doorstep and they had tried calling but no answer. It turns out the number was an old number which I hadn't realised. I asked why they didn't ring the doorbell to be told there wasn't one! There very much is one and it works. I was told I was speaking with the delivery driver who was very argumentative and didn't want to listen to my point that there didn't seem to be much effort to knock the door or actuallyuse the bell, our dog would soon tell us someone there yet she never barked once. I asked to speak with the manager as the driver didn't want to listen and the man on the phone said I am the manager and I delivered the food. Instead I was told the food had been delivered on time 45 mins after ordering and it was my fault the number was wrong They didn't have time to wait for me to answer the door, they were busy. "What do you want" was the reply "hot food would be nice" as the food thats there has been sitting on my doorstep for over 1 hour. We didn't mind the wait but after 2 hours was getting excessive. What I do mind is calling to be told that the food had just left then calling back to be told that when I first called my food had been sitting outside for over an hour! How could I not have been told this information on my first call. All I would have liked from the driver/manager was an apology for the mix up in information given during my first call and an explanation of what happened rather than being argumentative right from the off. Customer service is obviously not a concern for the restaurant instead made feel we were in the wrong. I was eventually offered a free pizza next time we ordered, I explained after our conversation why would we order from them again to which he replied ok bye then! Such a shame as food has always been so good but let down by poor customer service and management.

Excellent Indian restaurant with a varied menu and friendly service. Food was excellent and our meals could easily have fed a third person and we didn’t over order. only problem I had was I didn’t want to fill up on rice as the naan bread was so good and didn’t want to fill up on naan as the rice was so good 😊. Highly recommended, Will definitely return if I’m in the area again.

Brilliant Indian restaurant great food and the even let our little dog bonbon in Wife had prawn madras I had chicken Karachi both delicious and the onion thai was unbelievable been here twice now and both times we have been blown away by the quality of the food would definitely recommend

Went to this carry out curry place tonight for a curry out .. I've been coming here for years and never had a problem .. Until tonight ... I phoned on an order two meals , two starters , and two breads ... No rice . 35 quid !!! Hung up then thought . That was daft . I will just order a meal for two with one extra pakora and one extra bread ... 31 said the girl ... Perfect I said I shall do it that way cheaper plus I get poppodoms and one rice . Set off , got there to be told it was nearly 36 for exactly the same thing . What happened to 31 deal . Sorry she says .. we have to accept the first order .... But it's really the same thing ! I had the thirty one on me but handed her two twenties .. she russeled about for change and tried to give me a pudding bowl amount of change .... Eh no . The staff all looked at me as if I was speaking Norwegian when I tried to explain how unfair they were I gave them 32 and left ..... I'm stunned to think that they would give up my custom for four pounds rip off .... The food was much poorer than ever not to mention the hair in the Tikka chasni .. After ten years I will NEVER return

Great curry and customer service!

The most important thing first: the food was great. We ate there with 8 people on a Saturday (as the only people in the restaurant) and ordered 5 starters and 8 main courses. They probably had a lot to do with take-away orders, but waiting 50 minutes for the starters and then another 39 minutes for the main course wasn't possible. Easily deducted 3 stars for that. Only the hard-working service and the really tasty food led to the 3-star rating.

I'm a regular customer of spice garden, but unfortunately that's quite a few times now that not all of my order was delivered. If you are going to be a restaurant that also delivers, you must make sure that deliveries are correct, this is not the case with spice garden lately.

I think their food is fantastic, and they always give you a considerable amount of portions. However, after a recent experience I had with them I am never using them again. My order never turned up at my door, and I phoned them to get an update regarding it. They insisted that it had been delivered, but there was absolutely no sign of it outside my door. I sent them a picture of my front door through Messanger asking if this was the door they left it at, and they saw the picture and flat out ignored me. I then went on to ask them for a refund, and they yet again saw it and ignored it. The fact that they never tried to confirm with me that they delivered it to that very door, just make me believe that they are not being honest with me. I didn't want to make this review, since I think their food is sensational, but I have never had an experience like that with any takeaway in my life. Until I get an update from them regarding my refund, I am leaving it at 1 star.

Absolutely shocking service. Ordered at 1650 for 1720 delivery. Got notification that it was delayed by 10 mins which wasn’t an issue but JustEat said delivered. Called at 1815 and was told they’d accidentally clicked delivered and that it was on its way. Called again at 1900 and they’d taken the phone off the hook. Eventually got through at 1915 and was told we are too far away so it’s taken longer and that next time we should come and collect it. To say I’m furious is an understatement. Do not order from them!

Would have given 4 stars but accompaniments had too much odd colouring and, although tasty, not the standard I was expecting

I called ahead to book a table for my partner and I booking a table for just before 5pm. No issues with our booking. Access to Spice Garden was through the Village Inn however I later found a rear access alongside and the back of the building. Stairs up to the restaurant. On arrival we were shown to a table in the window which was bright albeit only with a view of the street and a garden. We were seated and asked if we would like poppadums' while we read the menu, which we did. The poppadums' were delicious and came with a choice of dips. I had issues with the menu as so much appealed to me however I chose the tropical korma and my partner opted for pasanda we also had mushroom rice and peshwari naan bread. Food arrived quickly and we were given warm plates. We enjoyed our meal, we will return and we took a take-away menu too. Our server was Mel. She was bright and cheery, she was attentive without being overly so and nothing was too much trouble - after asking for water I then decided to have beer. On receiving our bill we were surprised to find a 30% discount off food - a true bonus.

Only posting as out of the last 3-4 orders from here, we’ve ended having to get a free pizza due to mistakes. The first free pizza was a bonus but it’s got to be a joke and has to be mentioned. If the pizza isn’t under cooked, it doesn’t have the right toppings. Same again this evening but this time everything just covered in cheese. No 4 cheese or margherita pizza ordered. Given the place so many chances, and constructive feedback but it’s a shambles. Cannot recommend anyone to order from here anymore.

Good quality food, waited a while but worth it. Will revisit again. Chicken wings were amazing. Food was tasty and decent quantity. Only reason not 5 star was disappointed with Peshwari nan not a lot of flavour in that.

We were on holiday in the area and ordered food for 14 people for delivery. The girl who took the order was very friendly, and read it back to me when I phoned it in to be sure of accuracy. However, the order was missing six items, including a main meal. When I phoned to let them know I was offered these items free next time we ordered, no use to us as were on holiday. A more senior member of staff then phoned me back and simply denied that any food was missing, and didn’t offer any apology or refund. It was a great shame as a simple apology would have gone a long way. Would not recommend ordering food from here.

I received the wrong order from here tonight. When I phoned to inform them of this I was met by the response “eh, I’ll pass you to my college” only to hear “ha, I have a present for you, somebody complaining about having the wrong order” They could not have cared less. Absolutely disgusting customer service. I really did not expect this. I will not be returning or recommending in the future!! There’s a lot to be said for a bit of common curtesy and they simply didn't have it. Shame really.

First time ordering due to a local recommendation. Was not disappointed!! Food was Excellent, as was the Service!! Being “fussy curry snobs” we were delighted with our meal!! Lamb Madras was tender and hot. Royal Fish Curry was soft and flavoursome. Peshwari nan was fluffy. Portions very generous!! I highly recommend this place and will be returning !!

What a delicious, new menu! Haven't been in ages and now I regret it. Freshly prepared, good selection but not overwhelming. Just really tasty (not sooo oniony), well presented in lovely dishes. Not to mention the price!! We will be back👌👌👌✔️

We had a takeaway for 7 people and chose a variety of dishes. All were excellent and couldn’t fault them. I hadn’t used Spice Garden for a few years so thought I would try them again. They are very much improved with the quality and quantity of the portions.

Great food, great service if you contact restaurant directly or go in to order. However don't use just eat to order as food doesn't arrive when communicated and no updates to let you know. Would have collected if delivery time had been made clear. Dissapointing as every other restaurant I've used through just eat delivers earlier than expected.

Had a takeaway tonight and it was so tasty Big portions so some for lunch tomorrow would highly recommend this Indian restaurant and takeaway service

We use the Spice Garden regularly. The food is always delicious. We have never been disappointed. The portions are very generous and the chicken is always cooked well and not dry unlike other places we have used in the past. My son loves the pizzas which are always fresh. Recommend 💯

Our new local. We’ve been ordering a curry most weeks and early on the pizzas. The curry’s have been pretty good, better than most Perth offerings. Their pizzas are fabulous! Currently doing collection from the rear of the building. Little bit confusing, remember to ask on the phone!

Our food arrived (home delivery) over an hour and a half later than we were told it would arrive. Not only were we missing a curry, the majority of our food was inedible. It was cold, the korma sauce had curdled, pizza was so cold, it was stuck to the box, the nan bread had hardened like shoe leather and one of the rice dishes was uncooked. I had ordered food for two houses due to current no socialising rules and most of the food was the same. This isn’t the first time we’ve had missed items. We definitely won’t be ordering again. Almost £90 wasted

Arrived 1 and a half hours after ordering. Totally wrong order. Called place back to ask what was going on, explained what had been delivered compared to what we had ordered and was told - so what’s the problem?! Bad attitude on the phone, wrong order, no apology - never ever using nor recommending this place again. What a shocker. Next!!

Always great food and looking good after refurbishment. We had a superb day for our son, Harry's 10th birthday.....roll on many more😃

Great takeaway. Indian food is excellent and the pizza is great. Sometimes takes a little longer to deliver but always worth the wait.

2 hours for delivery after being told it will be between 45 minutes to an hour. Rang to check after 90 minutes to be told a mumbled answer and it will be there “anytime”. Driver came who I’m sure is the lady that works in the restaurant and she advised me the food isn’t made right away and the she is a slow driver! Terrible service, have used a few times in the past but this will now be the last. At least apologise and accept responsibility instead of poor excuses!

Second visit in a matter of days. We live locally however usually head into the nearest city to eat. We have this amazing restaurant on our food step. Such a friendly family restaurant, very welcoming and was lovely to have the chef come out and say hello. We would recommend this Indian restaurant to everyone. One of the best! Food is so tasty.

I'm so confused, when is this place open? I turned up last night at 9:30pm with family for a meal, we had checked online they were open and until 11pm, got there and the pub below is being refurbished so we need to go round the back (sign on door says "open as usual"), no biggie so round the back we go and the door is locked, I call and I can hear their phone ringing but nobody is there. This isn't the first time I've come along to find out that their opening times are a suggestion and not practice. Their food is great so I won't stop coming back but my god this is so aggravating, to keep trying with this place just to find our they have given up trying.

Stupendous service, jelly beans were an extremely delightful confectionary placed convientely upon the bar adjacent the entrance. The open door seemed to welcome all, no matter how big or how small, with open arms. The traditional punjabi melody playing in the background a brilliant contrast to the perthshire streets outside. Will return shortly:)

I am local to the village and have used spice garden for a while. Food is really tasty generally but customer service needs some attention. Service has never been great but we've tried to overlook this as we WANT to support out local businesses. Unfortunately tonight, the straw broke the camels back! We have a house full of 10 family members tonight so thought it'd be easier to get a delivery! I asked for a chicken tikka meal but to swap the rice for chips and was told "sorry we don't do this"?! Wtf....that makes no sense as your chips are actually cheaper than the rice on the menu! I ended up going to another take away and gave them my £60 order. Poor show spice garden, we have tried to give you our loyalty but you really have annoyed me tonight with your foolishness!

Situated on a small Side Street in Bridge of Earn,accessed through a door inside the Lounge Bar,and Upstairs,This is a Lovely,Welcoming, Restaurant..Pleasant,bright,clean looking,and made Welcome by a Lovely,Polite Woman,Who ,during The Evening,was Attentive to Our Every Need!!The Restaurant was very quiet for a Friday Evening,which surprised Us,but The Phone rang constantly with Orders for Takeaways,and Plenty of People came and went with Takeaway Meals...The Food was Absolutely Delicious...and Well-Presented...Good Value for Money...All in All an Enjoyable Experience...We will be back!!!

Nice very quiet at the time we visited it. Quick service and good value for money. Unusually it does not have facilities to take cards so its cash only which is worth bearing in mind. The veg pakora was tasty and a decent portion as a starter I would recommend that.

Stopped in for pizza take away. Put in an order for two Hawaiian pizzas and one Hawaiian pizza with extra chicken. We sat in the restaurant whilst waiting for our order. We had a look over the restaurant menu and will definitely come and give it a try. A short while later our order arrived. we took it home. It was piping hot. It had a generous amount of toppings and had a very fresh flavour. We would recommend spice garden to anyone and will definitely be back.

Visited with my friend for dinner and have to say was really impressed. Lovely wee restaurant and the waitress was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for her and we left a tip at the end to show our appreciation for the great service. I love Indian food and had delicious starter followed by Chicken Tikka Masala, rice and naan shared with my friend. Bang went the diet but it was worth it. A hidden gem and hopefully next time am in Bridge Of Earn will be back in for an delicious dinner!

The restaurant is above the village inn restaurant. You can sit in or take away. We decided to sit in and were given a warm welcome and the lady serving us was very attentive.We had a starter each which was very good, hot and quickly served and then a main curry with rice and nan bread which was very good and piping hot. There is a good selection of dishes on the menu including vegetarian dishes and a few other dishes. The restaurant is licensed so you can have wine or beer cider etc with your meal as well as soft drinks. We didn't have a dessert so I don't know if they served these. Would recommend.

Ordered by phone as usual. That will be fifteen twenty minutes. Get there. They had forgotten my order. There was nobody else there. That takes a special talent.

It does not matter whether it is dinner in their large restaurant, or food to go, every dish is freshly prepared and is excellent!. Orders are also delivered locally for a very small charge.Their Korma curries are outstanding in quantity and quality and the nan bread is freshly cooked.The service in the restaurant is excellent and we find that their Takeaway meals are great value. We are lucky as we line within a few minutes walk of this restaurant.

This is the best curry house that is in perth in my eyes but people will go were they want! This is not a fast food place it take time to cook this stuff from fresh and if you want the best food you need to wait for it to be made, They go above and beyond to make there customers HAPPY like they offer you a drink when waiting they have a love chat with you or if you want to go down for a drink they tell you when its ready to come up and collect it again and 9 times out of 10 it is ready some times its just finishing getting packed and the negative impact on the last review from the customer that said he got door in his face well this was not from a member of staff it look like a customer as i am a regular customer here!! i was having a lovely family meal when i saw and heard this go on last night so everyone that is attending here or reading those reviews don't let it put you off well lets just say you cant make everyone happy and this man that kick off was just acting like a little boy with no toys he tried to make everyone need bad but this did not work as the lady out front made sure everyone was still laughing and enjoying themselves the man kick off cause he was to lazy to walk back up to get his food and wanted to blame someone for his mistakes! Will be back soon to enjoy yet another good meal!

I come from Durban where there is the biggest congregation of Indians outside of India where I was brought up with the authentic spice. This restaurant provides a meal exactly to your liking with the beautiful mix of spice. Absolutely wonderful meal. Great service with happy staff.

I regularly order takeaways whether it be Indian or Pizza and they were always okay. However a few weeks ago I took my vegetarian friend there for a sit in. She ordered Mushroom Paneer Bhoona. After a few mouthfuls she saw prawns in her dish. The waiter apologized and said the chef had made a mistake.. She was served the correct dish, however after such a mistake I don't think she should have been charged the full amount. What if she had been allergic to shell fish.

Weird having to enter the Indian through a bar area then up the stairs, but on getting there, lovely welcome by Mel, large tables, comfy seats, extensive menu, small drinks selection, portion sizes good, meals were all hit, nicely presented and reasonably priced, nice atmosphere.

Brilliant meal this evening. To be fair, the rice had to be reheated when we got it home, but the curries, naan, veg pakora were all amazing!! Great to have on your doorstep!

had a meal here on tuesday the 14th of feb we arrived early and got our table right away witch as great we didnt need to wait around for it the lady out front was great as we had to bring our 5 kids with us at last minute and she didnt mind she was excellent with them gave them something to draw on to keep them happy and may i add this lady was very buay at this time as well as she had other tables in and phone was going and people coming and going for there meals and she still found time to help and make sure everyone had an enjoyable time there. we ordered our meal and my husband order something that needed to be brought down from hot to mild and it came out perfact my meal as amzaing too kids had pizza and loved it best place i have ever been for a curry & pizza and i will defo be back. when the resturant became less busy this lady took the kids to another table so they can play while we finished our meal and drinks if you went to eles where we wouldnt have got this serive at all so i am very happy amd we left with more than just a smile. everyone has their own review but i think people just have things to moan about for nothing as this place went well out their own way to help me and my family that evening from front of house to the kitchen to the delively driver thank you guys so much for giving us a memorie. we will be back.

Ordered a delivery got told would be with me in less than an hour, an hour and half later got my order only to find that some of my order wasn't there and what came was stone cold. I phoned and spoke to the lady manager who didn't really care tried to say that I never ordered certain things and if I wanted them would have to wait another 3 hours just to get my tea. Only thing there bothered about is taking your money nothing else!! No offer of a refund or anything and the food went straight into the bin! AVOID there's a better Indian restaurant 2 miles down the road!!

Yes it's through that door and up the stairs. It is indeed in the upstairs of a pub. Thanks to the friendly locals who saw our confused faces and assisted! We were the only diner the entire time we were in on a Thursday evening!Our order was taken promptly and arrived at olympic speed. The food was nice enough and well portion sized. Garlic and cheese naan was bland. Whole meal could have benefited from a little more refinement. Standard effort. Price was ok.

Was staying at the in laws one weekend and fancyed an Indian from bridge of earn so went to the place and couldn't believe it .u had to go via pub and up stair to Indian it was so nice and different... The meal was great and filling we will be back for meal then go down stair for a night cap before heading home

Went with hubby and grandson for a quick, relaxed dinner. Great that they had pizza that really pleased grandson. Mel was a one woman powerhouse, serving tables, taking phone orders and dealing with walk ins. She was really friendly and kept making sure all her customers were fine. Our dinners were really nice. Hubby is very fussy about his curries and really enjoyed it, I always have korma and mine was really nice. Recommend sitting in and take away.

I have been using this place for a long time now and always found the service first class and the food superb. I love the Tandoori Mixed grill. The chicken is juicy and tasty and the lamb is usually very tender and delicious. Their Nan breads are HUGE. They even make Mattur Paneer for me when I ask (and it is not on even the menu). Staff are friendly and efficient and the portions are great. I have never had any complaints whatsover.

And I couldn't face Australian wine or anything I had in so Mrs D said get a curry. There are other decent restaurants in Perth but for flavour, range, efficiency and sheer quality you canna t beat this place. I've gone for the old favourite, chicken tikka masala which, though I used to live near to the inventor, I have never had from a curry house and it is beyond belief delicious. Oh and they have a winter special so we got agree litre of juice. Cannot recommend too highly.
