Saffron in Perth & Kinross

We live local and hadn't been back since the change of staff a couple of years ago. The food was excellent we shared the mixed tandoori starter and I normally don't like kofta, it was delicious. For the main course I had a prawn Rogan josh, which was excellent and the prawn were massive. My husband had the Herb Green and likes it a hotter, which he really enjoyed. We also had the best keema nan we had ever tasted along with a rice. We brought our own wine which is a bonus. All in all we will definitely be back with friends. Thank you for a lovely meal. 😍

Exceptional Indian food! I had a vegetable thali and the variety of dishes was great and all very tasty.

Atmosphere is lowly marked because it's Monday and no one was there. They had lots of takeaways orders. Located in a slightly run down collection of shops. Overall the food is good, the chilli chicken could be hotter. The bindi were nice and crunchy. This place doesn't serve alcohol. Ordered a lot and it came to around £26

1st time ordering a takeaway from here and it was delicious got the set meal for 2 and it was great very good portions and food was beautiful.

Just had a great experience at the Saffron Restaurant. If you're a fan of scrumptious curry, homemade food, this is the place you need to visit. All the flavours were perfectly balanced and each dish was cooked to perfection. Whether you prefer a milder or spicier variant, they have a curry for every palate. The homemade touch truly shines through. Definitely recommend to try Aloo Saag, Hathcora curry, Lamb madras - all rich and aromatic. The menu is diverse, offering a wide range of options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The portion sizes were generous. To top it all off, the prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you receive.

Food was good, but next time I'll rather just get a takeaway - a main dish is compulsory for each person dining in with no sharing allowed (restaurant's policy)

Food was cooked well, the chicken tikka was juicy, unfortunately there was no flavour. No spice at all.

First time ordering after a very challenging working day. Delivery was quick and food was fresh and hot. Lots to choose from on the menu chose one dish we knew we would like and a new one we hadn't tried the Garlic chicken masala wasn't very keen on this didn't have much flavour very oily but maybe down to a bad choice on my behalf. Pakora, rice and korma very nice one of the nicest weve tried in a long time will definitely be ordering again.

I enjoyed the sit down environment The server got my order wrong, I ordered palak paneer balti style and the bill also says palak paneer but he brought out masala butter paneer. He didn’t even notice or comment after bringing the dish or at payment time. I was too hungry to care but this is why the service was low The food isn’t as flavour rich as it should be, and somewhat oily. There were four pieces of naan but it seems like only that top piece was fresh the ones below seemed stale and they were cold

Roadtrip durch Schottland…das heißt viel fahren und dann die Entscheidung wohin zum Abendessen. Das Saffron war um die Ecke und es war eine gute Entscheidung, das Essen hier sehr gut und sehr freundlich. Außerdem eine schöne Abwechslung. Es ist war als Takeaway beschrieben, ist aber inklusive Restaurant, das sehr hübsch eingerichtet ist .

Visiting from the US. Great halal food and excellent service. Read the reviews on Google before heading there. Please ignore the negative reviews…clearly folks with a bias against the owners. And no, they don’t serve “pork”…get it right people.

Our local Indian restaurant / take away. Has greatly improved over the years since opening. Unfortunately, like most Indian restaurants/take aways around here, they do seem to keep changing their minds on whether their nan breads &c. contain wheat flour.

Food is not that tasty tbh, They mentioned it as spice level as 'Middle Cuisine' but it was the sweetest curry I ever tasted, it doesnt even qualifies 'Mild Cuisine' level, curry sounded more like a dessert lol Also the quantity of rice is terribly small, just not worth the money spent on this side. Chapathis are great and a must try! Staff is good, professional and very welcoming, management shd really work on food Id say!

For some reason Saffron stopped giving me complimentary popadoms, my kids loved them. I was buying meals on average Twice a Week. I have decided to take my business elsewhere in future. For the sake of a couple Popadoms Saffron would rather lose me as a good customer. I have found a new restaurant that delivers equally as nice food and free complimentary poppadoms at a cheaper price.

Had to cancel a sit down meal here because we had a serious road traffic collision so we ordered a takeaway instead. Not only was the food fantastically tasty & plentiful,they sent us a couple of small bottles of wine as a gesture of sympathy for our traumatic experience. Long live human kindness.... Thank you Saffron. We wish you much success for the future & hope to come for a 'sit down' meal very soon.

When you get more good reviews saying there was good halal food, but Indians say it does not taste Indian.... I'd say sth is going wrong. But really some shocking reviews like vegan (or vegetarian) sauce same as for meat dish and even the photos are labelled wrong.

Wonderful food. Small quaint restaurant. Feels like home cooking.

Food was just average. Staff were good and everything else was alright but I guess it all comes down to personal taste preferences and for me I didn't enjoy the taste as much as I did in a few other Indian places.

Amazed by food. Better than many Indians restaurants of London. Area of improvement- hygiene issues.(table was sticky, probably not cleaned/wiped properly after previous guests) The waiter needs to be trained a bit better. He served 2 fresh plates and didn’t serve fresh plate plate for the 3rd person.(we ordered 2 gravy and 1 kebab) His argument was that he thought that the third person will eat kebab. Which is not a problem as a misunderstanding as long as you are smiling and have a good attitude. His tone was reflecting that do we need 3rd plate ? Indian foods are gravy based and are shared by multiple people. He said the quantity is 1 portion which is enough for 1 person but the two gravies was sufficient for 3 people. So maybe he wanted us to waste gravy but not share.

When it’s not a good day, order from Saffron. Absolutely fantastic. I had the the Prawn Purée and the the Balti. Perfect dinner and finished the day off perfectly. It really is the best in Inverness

Whilst staying at Ardtower Campsite in Inverness, we ordered a delivery which came within 30 minutes and was delicious. We cannot fault the food or the service. Definitely one to try.

My family of 3 and 6 friends from London have travelled all the way to Scotland, stayed here 3 days hoping for a good Indian restaurant and when we arrived...we had a terrible experience due to the arrogance and service of the manager. He didn't even welcome us and directly forced us to order main meals for each person. We have never heard this concept of main meals as compulsory before. Reading other reviews I have found some things in common: -racism from the waiters -adjustment with seats -terrible food and service -forcing to buy the main meals When we told the man we didn't want anything and we would get going, he said that that was alright with him in the most arrogant tone possible with an unfriendly manner. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER & this experience has ruined our holiday mood.

I would have given a negative star,if I could.Rude staff,horrible food,you name it and everything was going south for this restaurant.MUST BE AVOIDED.They were using the same gravy for both veg dish and Nov Veg dish.They might be having the thought that we wont figure it out but we did.

Very sorry to say but this is the worst place to have any meal. We ordered one veg curry and one non-veg curry. Gravy of both the dishes were same. Chicken was hard & did not seem fresh. Behaviour and service was horrible. Overall very poor experience. To be avoided strictly.

I was here 3 years ago by chance sitting in and was lovely I just bought a flat in Inverness had a take away last night lamb balti and paneer balti rice n keema nan The food was lovely and well priced Very nice 👌

Second time ordering from here. Definitely one of the best Indian takeaways in Inverness. Will be our go to! Tried 5 different curries which were all fantastic. The Tiger Special was unlike any curry I’ve had before and was BEAUTIFUL. Starters were very tasty. Naan breads are great. Spiced onions weren’t great but this is the only fault I can say and that’s just picking holes. Delivery was very fast too! Will 100% recommend

Lovely, non-fussy, halal Indian food and brilliant service! We ordered the thaali which had of a good selection of dishes including grilled chicken, lamb kebab, chicken dansak, tarka dal, naan and chicken tikka. Portion sizes were generous and everything tasted flavourful. Our favourites were the grilled chicken, kebab and dansak which had enough heat to satisfy the taste buds! Waitress was friendly and the owners were very kind. Would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a good, halal Indian restaurant.

This is a great little place. Food was excellent and good value for money. No drink license but handy little supermarket next door so you can BYOB. Staff were so friendly it all made for a very enjoyable meal.

If you are used to eating authentic Indian cuisine and familiar with the quality and variety on offer in Manchester, Birmingham etc then this is NOT the place for you. We ordered butter chicken and chicken passenda - both dishes were identical in taste, appearance and texture. Furthermore it had sugar added to it (who adds sugar to curry?). The same happened to lamb karai and lamb jalfrezi, we had ordered, both tasted, looked and had the same same texture. The restaurant may be able to hood wink locals who are unfamiliar with Indian cuisine but not those who are familiar with and appreciate authentic Indian cuisine. The chef was clearly seeking an easy way out by cooking a large batch of curry and serving them as two different curries. The service was nice, plenty of free parking too. Deeply disappointed 😞

Credit for being the only fully halal unlicensed Indian place in Inverness however the food is not great to say the least. The curries don’t taste like authentic South asian food and many are loaded with sugar. We ordered butter chicken and a pasanda and they gave us the exact same dish for both. Disappointed

Tiny little restaurant that packs a big punch. Absolutely gorgeous food, great service, plenty of car parking. Not licensed for alcohol but you can take your own , there's a convenience store next door if you wanted to get some beforehand.

As a Canadian travelling in the UK we found this food to be quite bland. We were hoping for some authentic Indian food but this was just boring and could have come from a jar.

Had a fantastic meal with my wife. Service was great as we were the only ones in the restaurant. Food was lovely - delicious and nicely presented. The chicken tikka masala with just a hint of mint was divine.

We just had dinner today at 08:45 pm today in this restaurant. Am sorry to say, even if I get the best Indian food in the world here, I would never visit this place. We felt like beggars who are begging to get food here. Yes, we do understand that minor misses in services can be there when there is too much rush. But this was like real extreme. The flow is as follows 1. Booked a table yesterday for 08:30 pm and was explicitly told that per person you have to order 1 main dish else don't come. We Felt shocked but still asked why such a concern. He said there were a group of 5 people once and paid only 15 GBP. We said we will not do that and we also paid 113 GBP bill today. 2. On entering the restaurant the person at the reception was so rude and asked why didn't you come at 08:30 pm and are 15 mins late. We got stuck in traffic and couldn't call at last minute 3. While ordering the food, he said give all order in bulk and I won't take any more order after that. We controlled ourselves then but we were getting sick of this person ( seemed Pakistani but I always respect every human being as human being but wanted to say this). We gave max order in bulk. 4. After the order was complete, we asked and I quote"would it be possible to bring some naan and paneer please or is it difficult". He again said why didn't you order in 1 go when I told you to. We got frustrated and said while eating only we can tell whether we are further hungry or not. This was too much to bear. 5. The food was anyways bland and not authentic Indian. We are from Delhi/ ncr and understand good Indian preperation. Also there was another family who came later but was so polite and nice to them. Maybe it was from his community. Not sure, maybe

TERRIBLE SERVICE. Never ever recommend this place. We had reserved the table for 12 including kids over the phone. At the restaurant, the table is only for 8 people. Then, he joined another table for 2 and asked us to adjust. We didn't realize why the waiter was insisting on us to ORDER FOOD ONLY ONCE. Later we realized the food is WORST, and people NEVER ORDER IT AGAIN. Also, he was compelling to order an adult main course for kids.. how would that happen?? Coming to food, though we didn't expect the food to be so authentic like in the home town, it was not even close to what it resembles. Moreover we ordered their homemade specials.. WORST.. WORST.. SERVICE and FOOD.

Absolutely ridiculous service. We made a reservation over phone, we got turned away. The guy is absolutely mannerless. He literally ignored us. We were totally schocked by the behaviour of the staff there.

Ordered from here for a Takeaway for 10+ people. Food was delicious. They were very accommodating for vegans and nut allergies. Will go back next time we are in Inverness.

Terrible service. The manager was extremely hostile to us. This was surprising, especially because he seemed friendly to the other customers who were all white; we were Indian. They did not offer us cutlery although we requested for the same twice. Even when we tried to call for their attention they ignored us. Even though the food was decent, I would not recommend this place purely because the staff was unnecessarily rude and racist.

Avoid this place at all cost. Hygiene of the place is utterly disgusting seems like the staff don't clean and too busy talking to each other. Food used to be good now gone down quality of the chicken and bread very poor not worth the price rather buy from Tesco. Better of going to the other Indian takeaways close by.

Oasis to a weary traveller. Truly enjoyed the food, few dishes like the daal have some interesting twists that I loved. The Indian Vegetarian Thali was a masterpiece. Visited a couple times in our short trip to Inverness; you should as well if you are in the vicinity.

Received a take away 2 weeks ago. Pakora was like onion bhaji. Yoghurt sauce sour. Chicken tika flavourless, tasted like it had been steamed and very unappetising . Pickle tray small quantues fir 3 people. This place used to be fantastic but really gone down hill and wint be coming back

Was a really nice meal. Came in before the rush. We were just passing through but this is clearly a very busy place. The phone was constantly ringing, a good sign for the restaurant, but a bit detracting to the environment. Definitely stop here for Indian food!

We were staying at inverness during our trip around scotland.we thought to have indian food and saw good reviews and was less than 10 mins drive from the place we were staying. We ordered chapati's,veg korma and fried rice. To be honest none of them were good.chapati's were soggy,veg korma was like some dessert,despite the person on the phone asked us about our spice preferance and we told mild/medium,fried rice was simple but didnt have enough salt so lacked the taste. We were too tired after our night and day travel and was hungry too,we sadly had to bin most of the food.They provided some papodoms and onion salad which is what we used with rice and chapati to get over our hunger and had to use our snacks which we saved for the trip. As we were too tired couldnt bother to call them or even order else where. This was the only bad experience we had in our trip. By the way we ourselfs are indian origin and we know curries arent that sweet,it was literally like a dessert.

Even though the ambience was quite nice, the food was subpar. Some of the dishes were loaded with food colouring, and the taste wasn't as good as you would usually find in a good Indian restaurant. Staff was nice though, hence the 2 star insteadof 1. Wouldn't really recommend.

Visited Saffron on our trip to the highlands. Food was outstanding as was service. The food was authentic, fresh and everything we had tasted delicious. It was that good we returned for a second time before the end of our holiday.

Really disgysting food and was overpriced, papadoms were not fried properly, lots of oil on them, onion bhaijs not crispy, no flavour at all. Felt sick whole night. Will never visit again. Not recommend anyone, full of rubbish

We came for NC500 from Birmingham and stopped by at Inverness. We had some other takeaways which were not good and was craving Indian/bangladeshi food after such a long journey. Saffron Indian was perfect! authentic and food was cooked to perfection. I went to order takeaway and the owner and waiter both greeted me and offered a load of cutlery and complimentary food/drinks as extra to make our stay comfortable!! Fantastic all around. Thank you

Had a very enjoyable meal at Saffron recently. The restaurant is cozy, the food was really good and decent value, and the young waiting staff were very friendly and efficient. Couldn't fault anything.
