Food from here is always delicious. I ordered a Ceylon which I what I had last time. Last time it was perfect, this time it was blow your head off spicy. I can handle spice and occasionally get a madras - this was definitely hotter than a madras which wasn’t expected. Still tasty though and friendly delivery driver

I had the buffet on a Tuesday night. The food was tasty enough and good quality; there was a reasonable selection, and the price was good value. However, the starters were cold and the mains were luke warm. No desserts either. I wasn't fussed about the desserts, but the food should have been hot. For this reason, I wouldn't rush back. Other places do a better, and hotter, buffet.

Great take away and delivery was within the hour. We have the veg pakora chicken tikka rice and Nan bread and all delicious.

Okay not great Last minute decision to try it. Venue was cold, I do appreciate they have a large open area which would be costly to heat but it did affect the experience The onion bhaji was burger shaped I doubt very much they make these. They didn’t taste fresh more like a pre made frozen one meant for bhaji burgers than as a starter at an Indian Lots of fresh veg in the curries but could not taste or see any difference between them both Garlic bread was subtle on the garlic to say the least Service was attentive and prices were reasonable

Alway find the food good here (home delivery). Got a brilliant meal last night - veg thali, various starters, parathas etc. salad items very fresh. Food tastes home cooked and not that overly spiced/cloying way you can sometimes get. Highly recommended for a takeaway

Very poor . Parts if the poppadoms were soggy. They didn’t add the rice to the takeaway despite paying for it. Chicken Tikka came with a horrible runny sauce in a separate container . The chicken was dry and could have been bought from a cheap corner shop. The lamb was fatty .

Went for a meal with friends. Would not recommend to anyone as the service was terrible. From taking our drinks order and not coming back with it then someone else came and asked what we wanted to drink was away for ages eventually came back with them I had a Malibu and coke the coke was flat my friend had vodka lemonade the lemonade was flat my husband said they just poured the coke and lemonade from a bottle that was obviously flat . We ordered starter for 4 we hardly got anything we ordered our main meal think they forgot about us eventually asked how much longer it would be they said sorry they were busy with delivery’s surely the people in there restaurant are as important as as delivery’s (won’t be back ).

Haven't used Raj Mahal for a long time because we weren't happy with the food. Thought we would give it a chance again and so glad we did.

Top quality food, top quality staff, extremely polite. Prices are good because what you get for it is amazing and tasty . Highly recommend.

All good, but there seems to be a problem when you order butter chicken online and it comes as chicken korma, this has happened a couple of times!

We had a leisurely walk into Kinross for a few drinks and a meal. We hadn't booked anywhere, but managed to get a table here as it was still early. There were lots of people coming and going for takeaways and it was a nice relaxing atmosphere. The food was excellent and didn't take long to arrive. Hopefully not long before we are back again soon!

They don't even deserve 1 star, it was beyond bad. It was by far the worst Indian food we've ever had, it was complete inedible. I can still taste it in my mouth and its making me feel sick.

I'm surprised by any of the positive reviews based on my experience this evening. We ordered a take away. It wasn't close to warm, it was nearly cold. All the curry sauces were watery. I've never seen such watery curry sauces! Every dish was lacking freshness or falvour. None of the mets were tender. The chick was rubbery and the lamb tough. I could have made a MUCH better curry at home for a third of the Price. I can honestly say there wasn't anything nice about this takeaway. It was the worst curry I've ever had. Having come from a catering background I do NOT right bad reviews lighty but there wasn't an ounce of love put into our dinner. Waste of money, wouldn't ever go back.

Below average food. Ridiculous customer service. We stopped here en route to England while on a road trip through the UK. My son is severely allergic to dairy and we ordered a couple dishes for him after confirming with the staff that they are dairy free. They also referred us to the menu card that had vegan symbols for the dishes we were ordering. The Chana Massalam that we ordered from the vegan menu had dairy in it. Their excuse that we did not ask them about this dish in particular when in fact we did. They very casually said to not give this to my son. They did not even bother to remake the dish despite the fact their menu card had the no dairy symbol for this dish. Apart from that, it tasted so bad and had every other vegetable in it like carrots and green beans and 1-2 chanas. They charged us in full for a mistake they made and laughed at us that we made a wrong choice of dish as this is not the typical Chana Massalam. Absolutely bizarre. I will never go there again and warn anyone who does to beware.

Nan bread not good too thick and doughy. Hit the mixed tandoori grill, lamb was rough/chewy and the chicken tikka and tandoori chicken was dry. As for the curry sauce I asked for it was nothing like the sauce I'm used to too this was just like a standard curry sauce that had extra heat added tomorrow and was not pleasant too much heat not enough taste thie only thing I enjoyed was the tandoori paneer cheese starter

Food was OK but nothing special. Menu had allergens clearly however staff either didn't understand or weren't interested when we tried to advise our children are coeliacs. We ordered a prawn starter that was listed as not containing gluten and it came out coated in breadcrumbs. They had curry and rice and don't appear to have been glutened at least. Table next to us explained someone had a chilli allergy but they still had chilli in their korma.

On Monday and Tuesday evenings there is an all-you-can-eat buffet for 12.95 plus drinks. The buffet consists of around 10 main courses, mushrooms, vegetables, rice, bread and a manageable selection of salads. The taste was ok, especially for the price. Staff and service ok. You should either be there early (the buffet starts at 5:30 p.m.) or make a reservation in advance.

As I was passing through Kinross I decided to get a takeaway from the RajMahal. I took notice of reviewers who said their dishes were too mild and sweet and settled for Ceylon. This was only on the menu with meat, but they obligingly made one for me with vegetables. It was definitely neither mild nor sweet and it was delicious! Not merely hot but with a very distinctive flavour. I accompanied it with Vegetable Baji which was much less hot, but held its own with the Ceylon because it too had its own special taste, also delicious. The portions were large, especially at the very reasonable price, so I actually had enough to freeze some to look forward to another day.

I had some prawns and the inears were not clean. Disappointed and put me right off. Didn't eat in the end. Customer service could improve at bit with white shirt waiters. Black shirts were good though. I have Indian very often. Probably at least once monthly. This was my worst Indian ever unfortunately. Was not worth the money that for sure.

Very friendly staff. Decided to try something different from my usual chicken based curries and tried on the manager's recommendation the "Boatmans Curry" which was a mix of different fish and seafood. Very enjoyable Naan breads a touch on the small side for my liking.

This is why we stopped using this takeaway delivery as the times were always late but after over a year we tried again and the last two were fine. But here we are again, well over 20mins past the 1hr20mins quoted. Great food but not enough to wait.

Massive fans of the Raj Mahal, but for some reason, our curries tonight just smelt and tasted of margarine. Didn't stop us from eating it all mind you.. But hopefully this was just a one of!

Amazing food again, Such a good selection of different dishes over and above the standard Indian dished which they also offered. Really first class,The staff were great too helpful and attentive. highly recommended

Waited just under 2hrs for our meal git the food and it was cold there was about 3/4 bit's of chicken in the chicken korma. 3/4 bit's of chicken in the teka masla more sauce than anything never got our poppadoms that i asked for not very im pressed at all

We gave you a second chance after you reduced your portion sizes, but that’s it. 6 pieces of lamb, 2 prawns, tiny pakora that is more batter than chicken, a half full dhal and special rice with the special taken out. Hugely disappointed again. Let us know when you start doing reasonable portion sizes.

A revisit tonight for a take away. Same dishes as tge last visit and again we were not disappointed. The food remained good tasy quality and good value, several years later from our last visit... recommended once again..... Ordered a takeaway fron The Raj Mahal tonight with delivery to the local Travelodge. Absolutely amazing tasting food. The delivery was eary, a pleasant young lady phoned to say the food had arrived. We had 2x tandoori chicken with sauces wich was amazing then a beautiful creamy chicken korma with honestly the best pilau rice I've ever tasted and a nice peshawar nann wrapped in a foil bag. Highly recommend this establishment and will definitely be back when next in the area. We'll done Raj Mahal.

Shocking service, the restaurant completed the order on line but the actual delivery is an hour late. I haven’t got it yet so can’t rate the food!

Went as a birthday treat with my friends..restaurant is pleasant inside..some staff pleasant others quite abrupt..initially it was quiet when we arrived at 6pm & got very busy as time went on..negative waited 1hr on our mains despite informing staff who just smiled & walked away with no explanation..there did seem to be sufficient staff just no organisation.. the people coming in & out for takeaways were served quicker. The food is good although could have been hotter. Did not get any hand wipes after meal which we have had in all other indian restaurantswe have frequented...then struggled to get the bill eventually had to go up to bar ourselves to get it paid..its a shame as food is good..service needs to improve & approach to customers..

Absolutely woeful! We were a party of four who had booked a table to celebrate one of our parties birthday. We were seated at 5:55pm and did not receive our food until 7:20pm, despite our numerous reminders; when it did arrive it was tepid at best. There was no offer of dessert, coffee, cleansing towel or mints, nor of my change when I paid the bill! The restaurant continued to admit and seat customers even though it wa obvious the kitchen and servers couldn’t cope and it seems the restaurant is far more interested in attending to takeout orders. We won’t be back and would advise others to consider alternatives Saturday evening dining (Raj Mahal would probably serve you a takeout pretty quickly, quicker than dining in anyway!)

Ordered at 5:45 for a 7:15 delivery time. No updates at all from the restaurant, had to query where my order was on the app - was told it would be there at 8:10. Still didn’t arrive until after 8:30. Food was good, but the wait was extremely annoying as I felt I had ordered in advance and still was left waiting for my food for hours.

Wait time was expected on a Saturday but meal was amazing as usual

2.5 hours and still hasn’t arrived . They are not answering phone so cannot chase this up. Terrible service.

I had to collect the order 2 hours after my order time

I placed my order at 16:49 for delivery at 19:30, which I thought was decent notice. At 19:55 I enquired and was told my order would arrive around 20:10. I tried to call at 20:17 and there was no answer, so I assumed it was too busy. I was told my order was en route but I could make a request for some money back. Order arrived (I live 2/3 mins away but wanted to stay in hence the delivery request) at 20:35. Delivery lady apologised and said I could get a discount on a future order but never said how to organise that and I don’t want to risk another hour plus delay. Ironically my previous order arrived early which wasn’t actually convenient that time either so I’ve lost faith. Maybe we don’t order enough to count or regularly enough but our family have used the restaurant for several big group meals previously…..but for future ones, maybe not

Delivery time really let them down. I ordered at about 5-6pm for food to be delivered at 8 so plenty of time to organise themselves. Food was generally good, needed a bit more salt for my taste. Don’t think I’d bother again unless they had a deal on or something.

Decided to try the buffet. Hardly anything in the containers at 6-30 pm .Food replaced in dribs and drabs- but it didn’t matter because everything tasted the same and that was not very nice. Left feeling very disappointed and wishing we hadn’t bothered .

Just moved into nearby area and delighted to find this place. Food is amazing. Ceylon curry perfect, just the right heat. It’s so good and so well priced I’ve had 3 takeaways this month. I usually have one every 3 or so months. All 3 tasted exactly the same so consistency is there. Excellent!

Food was great staff were very rude no one asked if we wanted drinks after we eventually got drinks asked 3 times for another drink

I got the chefs special. It was all very good except the prawn dish. Very watery and no taste plus most of the prawns still had their pop tract still inside and hadn’t been deveined. The peshwari naan was, as always very good and full of taste.

If I could score zero stars I would have. Initially was to pick up order at 7, was there at 7, only to be given food at 7:30. Then upon eating the food the lamb was absolutely inedible like rubber and couldn’t chew through it at all. The Nan bread was burnt and extremely also. Ended up putting it all in the bin! Not impressed at all. Expect better quality from this restaurant! at £9 for a take away curry you would think they would cook the lamb well also the portions have gotten smaller and smal

Worst service so far…. Portions are the tiniest EVER. Cold drink in same bag as warm food. One hour and twenty five minutes wait time, twenty mins late. No update, despite request. No apology for Kate delivery. What a shame, I love this restaurant.

Off to a bad start - website says Buffett 5;30pm - 8-30pm. Turned up 5:30pm but buffet not ready till 6:00pm 5 starters - 5 mains - 2 side dishes Rice, nan, popadom, salad, lime pickle, spiced onions & sauces. Starters all tasted nice but lukewarm/cold Mains - again all tasted nice, when you actually got some. Bufffet trays only hold about 4 portions at a time. Waited a good 10 mins on most items to be refilled (About 20 people in restaurant at the time.) and witnessed this on numerous occasions with other guests. Puddings = Rice or ice cream - Non Existant. Good food, but let down by poor portion size buffet trays. Oh and if like me, ice cream is a necessity to finish off your meal.

Use to avoid this place n decided to give it another chance, last 3-4 meals ice ordered have all been spot on! Good delivery times and still piping hot on arrival! Ordered a madras the last 2 times with the special rice and it’s been really good, generous portion size aswell

Use often for takeaway and mostly very good. Very tasty food and well cooked. When we eat in the staff are good and the portion sizes and presentation are spot on. My only issue that I like the hotter end of the menu and there is little choice compared to all the mild and sweet dishes. I honestly don’t want coconuts and cream. So good if you find what you want on the menu. I guess I will stick to Jalfrezi and Dhansak. Never been to the buffet will see if I can convince the other half to leave the dogs at home.

Food had flavour and was hot, the pathia was sweet and sour as it should be, the only disappointment was the gravy was too thin for my liking which made it seem watery. Rice was nice and flavourful Chicken chaat on puri was good! Naan was nice

Always enjoy a good meal whether eating in (particularly their buffet night) or having a carry out. But tonight I felt I had to write a quick review in appreciation of great service. After collecting our meal we noticed 2 side rice dishes missing. I immediately called the restaurant to advise them. Within 10 minutes the 2 rice dishes arrived at our door and we don’t even live in the town! I’m aware that it was their initial error, but they are busy so I was impressed that they managed to get these accompaniments to us so quickly.

Lovely tasty take away. Really liked the fact the tandoori was not covered in red food colouring. Lovely deep flavours, fresh tasting. Husband had chicken tilka jalfrezi, really nice. Popadom tray was lovely, would recommend and will order again next time we are in town.

Just left this restaurant with friends. Have to say this is the worst Indian restaurant I’ve ever visited. We went for a buffet dinner, (please have something to eat before you go) this was always empty and waited & waited & waited for it to be topped up, only to be filled with one or two pieces. The food was awful however not as bad as the service, we asked for another drink and it never came. Staff were extremely rude.The final part of our horrendous experience was handing over the payment and the member of staff answered the phone and never offered me any change. Really really disappointed.

I had ordered from this restaurant though just eat and I don’t receive any food after waiting hours. I payed 16.55 for nothing.

I write this review having cooked our own dinner. Having ordered the food to be told it would be delivered an hour later, after a further 30 minutes and not arrived phoned and was told was only 15 minutes away. A further 30 minutes still not arrived, so cancelled my order. Please Raj Mahal communicate on realistic delivery times, your food is great but you are let down by your delivery.
