This is why we stopped using this takeaway delivery as the times were always late but after over a year we tried again and the last two were fine. But here we are again, well over 20mins past the 1hr20mins quoted. Great food but not enough to wait.

Massive fans of the Raj Mahal, but for some reason, our curries tonight just smelt and tasted of margarine. Didn't stop us from eating it all mind you.. But hopefully this was just a one of!

Amazing food again, Such a good selection of different dishes over and above the standard Indian dished which they also offered. Really first class,The staff were great too helpful and attentive. highly recommended

A revisit tonight for a take away. Same dishes as tge last visit and again we were not disappointed. The food remained good tasy quality and good value, several years later from our last visit... recommended once again..... Ordered a takeaway fron The Raj Mahal tonight with delivery to the local Travelodge. Absolutely amazing tasting food. The delivery was eary, a pleasant young lady phoned to say the food had arrived. We had 2x tandoori chicken with sauces wich was amazing then a beautiful creamy chicken korma with honestly the best pilau rice I've ever tasted and a nice peshawar nann wrapped in a foil bag. Highly recommend this establishment and will definitely be back when next in the area. We'll done Raj Mahal.

Shocking service, the restaurant completed the order on line but the actual delivery is an hour late. I haven’t got it yet so can’t rate the food!

Went as a birthday treat with my friends..restaurant is pleasant inside..some staff pleasant others quite abrupt..initially it was quiet when we arrived at 6pm & got very busy as time went on..negative waited 1hr on our mains despite informing staff who just smiled & walked away with no explanation..there did seem to be sufficient staff just no organisation.. the people coming in & out for takeaways were served quicker. The food is good although could have been hotter. Did not get any hand wipes after meal which we have had in all other indian restaurantswe have frequented...then struggled to get the bill eventually had to go up to bar ourselves to get it paid..its a shame as food is good..service needs to improve & approach to customers..

Ordered at 5:45 for a 7:15 delivery time. No updates at all from the restaurant, had to query where my order was on the app - was told it would be there at 8:10. Still didn’t arrive until after 8:30. Food was good, but the wait was extremely annoying as I felt I had ordered in advance and still was left waiting for my food for hours.

Absolutely woeful! We were a party of four who had booked a table to celebrate one of our parties birthday. We were seated at 5:55pm and did not receive our food until 7:20pm, despite our numerous reminders; when it did arrive it was tepid at best. There was no offer of dessert, coffee, cleansing towel or mints, nor of my change when I paid the bill! The restaurant continued to admit and seat customers even though it wa obvious the kitchen and servers couldn’t cope and it seems the restaurant is far more interested in attending to takeout orders. We won’t be back and would advise others to consider alternatives Saturday evening dining (Raj Mahal would probably serve you a takeout pretty quickly, quicker than dining in anyway!)

I placed my order at 16:49 for delivery at 19:30, which I thought was decent notice. At 19:55 I enquired and was told my order would arrive around 20:10. I tried to call at 20:17 and there was no answer, so I assumed it was too busy. I was told my order was en route but I could make a request for some money back. Order arrived (I live 2/3 mins away but wanted to stay in hence the delivery request) at 20:35. Delivery lady apologised and said I could get a discount on a future order but never said how to organise that and I don’t want to risk another hour plus delay. Ironically my previous order arrived early which wasn’t actually convenient that time either so I’ve lost faith. Maybe we don’t order enough to count or regularly enough but our family have used the restaurant for several big group meals previously…..but for future ones, maybe not

2.5 hours and still hasn’t arrived . They are not answering phone so cannot chase this up. Terrible service.

Delivery time really let them down. I ordered at about 5-6pm for food to be delivered at 8 so plenty of time to organise themselves. Food was generally good, needed a bit more salt for my taste. Don’t think I’d bother again unless they had a deal on or something.

Decided to try the buffet. Hardly anything in the containers at 6-30 pm .Food replaced in dribs and drabs- but it didn’t matter because everything tasted the same and that was not very nice. Left feeling very disappointed and wishing we hadn’t bothered .

Really great food. Was nice and hot when it was delivered. It was delivered within the 20 minute slot I was given and the delivery driver was really nice!

Just moved into nearby area and delighted to find this place. Food is amazing. Ceylon curry perfect, just the right heat. It’s so good and so well priced I’ve had 3 takeaways this month. I usually have one every 3 or so months. All 3 tasted exactly the same so consistency is there. Excellent!

Food was great staff were very rude no one asked if we wanted drinks after we eventually got drinks asked 3 times for another drink

I got the chefs special. It was all very good except the prawn dish. Very watery and no taste plus most of the prawns still had their pop tract still inside and hadn’t been deveined. The peshwari naan was, as always very good and full of taste.

If I could score zero stars I would have. Initially was to pick up order at 7, was there at 7, only to be given food at 7:30. Then upon eating the food the lamb was absolutely inedible like rubber and couldn’t chew through it at all. The Nan bread was burnt and extremely also. Ended up putting it all in the bin! Not impressed at all. Expect better quality from this restaurant! at £9 for a take away curry you would think they would cook the lamb well also the portions have gotten smaller and smal

Worst service so far…. Portions are the tiniest EVER. Cold drink in same bag as warm food. One hour and twenty five minutes wait time, twenty mins late. No update, despite request. No apology for Kate delivery. What a shame, I love this restaurant.

Off to a bad start - website says Buffett 5;30pm - 8-30pm. Turned up 5:30pm but buffet not ready till 6:00pm 5 starters - 5 mains - 2 side dishes Rice, nan, popadom, salad, lime pickle, spiced onions & sauces. Starters all tasted nice but lukewarm/cold Mains - again all tasted nice, when you actually got some. Bufffet trays only hold about 4 portions at a time. Waited a good 10 mins on most items to be refilled (About 20 people in restaurant at the time.) and witnessed this on numerous occasions with other guests. Puddings = Rice or ice cream - Non Existant. Good food, but let down by poor portion size buffet trays. Oh and if like me, ice cream is a necessity to finish off your meal.

Use to avoid this place n decided to give it another chance, last 3-4 meals ice ordered have all been spot on! Good delivery times and still piping hot on arrival! Ordered a madras the last 2 times with the special rice and it’s been really good, generous portion size aswell

Use often for takeaway and mostly very good. Very tasty food and well cooked. When we eat in the staff are good and the portion sizes and presentation are spot on. My only issue that I like the hotter end of the menu and there is little choice compared to all the mild and sweet dishes. I honestly don’t want coconuts and cream. So good if you find what you want on the menu. I guess I will stick to Jalfrezi and Dhansak. Never been to the buffet will see if I can convince the other half to leave the dogs at home.

Food had flavour and was hot, the pathia was sweet and sour as it should be, the only disappointment was the gravy was too thin for my liking which made it seem watery. Rice was nice and flavourful Chicken chaat on puri was good! Naan was nice

Always enjoy a good meal whether eating in (particularly their buffet night) or having a carry out. But tonight I felt I had to write a quick review in appreciation of great service. After collecting our meal we noticed 2 side rice dishes missing. I immediately called the restaurant to advise them. Within 10 minutes the 2 rice dishes arrived at our door and we don’t even live in the town! I’m aware that it was their initial error, but they are busy so I was impressed that they managed to get these accompaniments to us so quickly.

Lovely tasty take away. Really liked the fact the tandoori was not covered in red food colouring. Lovely deep flavours, fresh tasting. Husband had chicken tilka jalfrezi, really nice. Popadom tray was lovely, would recommend and will order again next time we are in town.

Just left this restaurant with friends. Have to say this is the worst Indian restaurant I’ve ever visited. We went for a buffet dinner, (please have something to eat before you go) this was always empty and waited & waited & waited for it to be topped up, only to be filled with one or two pieces. The food was awful however not as bad as the service, we asked for another drink and it never came. Staff were extremely rude.The final part of our horrendous experience was handing over the payment and the member of staff answered the phone and never offered me any change. Really really disappointed.

I had ordered from this restaurant though just eat and I don’t receive any food after waiting hours. I payed 16.55 for nothing.

I write this review having cooked our own dinner. Having ordered the food to be told it would be delivered an hour later, after a further 30 minutes and not arrived phoned and was told was only 15 minutes away. A further 30 minutes still not arrived, so cancelled my order. Please Raj Mahal communicate on realistic delivery times, your food is great but you are let down by your delivery.

We order very regularly from the Raj Mahal, it’s always our go to takeaway. Delivery’s are normally prompt and roasting hot but last night the deliver to ages despite getting a notification to say the driver had left and was on the way, another 40 minutes passed before it turned up, and it was freezing cold and the chips/samosas had gone soggy and raita was warm.

I did not actually receive the order so would like a full refund. The restaurant continually mark thenorder as delivered and it takes another half an hour to get here.

First visit since moving to the region. We dined in the restaurant. Food was excellent and portion size spot on. Service was very good and timing of starters and mains was perfect (the place was very busy and the staff managed it very well). Will be more adventurous with choice of dish next time (noticed they had fish dishes on the menu which one doesn't always see so might try one of those. Atmosphere was buzzing with people enjoying the food. Traditional Indian music playing in background which was lovely. Restaurant decor was modern and spacious. We had 2 starters, 2 mains, rice and naan with 2 beers and was just over £40.00. Excellent value. Will definitely be back.

While the food was great as always. The portions size is lacking in comparison to the price you charge. I’d say there there isn’t even one full chicken breast in our curry which is an absolute rip off. If your paying just shy of £9 for a CHICKEN curry (THE CHEAPEST MEAT ON THE MARKET) please make sure ppl are getting there moneys worth. U can buy a whole pack of chicken for just over £4!! It’s chicken not gold dust definitely not value for money the sad skinny little box of curry ur giving ppl is so greedy on your part. Food good but come on guys don’t be so greedy with the prices your charging!

I use to stay in Kinross and it was the place to go for a curry. But my last visit was not the best, service wasn't the best, favours in the currys weren't upto the usual standard I remember and to be far it was only 5pm on a Sunday so it was quite. It won't stop me from returning as I hope it was just a one off experience.

Food arrived right on time however, the 2 x butter chicken ordered arrived as 2 x chicken korma. Everything else was spot on and they'd even flung in some extra sauce and chutneys.

Food was cold. Lamb & chicken in the kebab were over cooked.. We gave it another go as not been happy in the past but wont order a take away again.

I’ve been to so many Indians and can honestly say this is one of the best ones I’ve been to. The flavour in the food is amazing and you don’t have to wait long at all. Very affordable too

15 mins after our supposed delivery time I had to phone restaurant to find out what was going on. Was told our food would be 10 mins, after another 20 it appeared, 45 mins after the initial delivery time. Only redeeming thing was food was very fresh and very good, appeared it had been cooked following my call.

Great food but you forgot the rather expensive bottle of Cola!

It's been several years since we've visited or got a takeaway. We have always thought it was mediocre in the past. But tonight's was excellent. Well cooked chicken and lamb and excellent sauces. Chilli garlic chicken and Shahi Bahar Lamb.

The Raj wasn’t very good for a while and we stopped ordering from them, but our takeaway tonight was great and we are so happy to have good Indian takeaway locally again.

No problem with the food or decor but the staff barely look you in the face never mind in the eye…. Polite but not friendly. Maybe if your a local and go often they might give you a smile but all customers should be appreciated! They are very matter a fact and don’t thank you nicely for any tip given. Probably better as a take away than a sit in!

Visited this restaurant having just moved to the town. Big banner in the window stating buffet night, Monday and Tuesday 6-9. Went in at 6, no food on, asked about buffet, was told " no buffet, only main menu, take a seat". No thanks. No problem if buffet isn't on, but remove the banner from the window.

Not a single sauce pot has made it in one piece, sauce and mango chutney absolutely everywhere smashed up poppadoms and none of the sauces paid for to actually have with the meal! Nice one.

Easy to order, food delivered on time despite new address and the food was really great. Will order again and would recommend.

We went to the restaurant with our friends and were seated at a table by the window. It was,, admittedly, a very cold night and we found it especially so at the window. The food was good and I would certainly go back... but not in the winter. Because of large tables with party people there weren't alternatives available and it was noisy, so maybe wouldn't go at Christmas again. But we will be back!

They put the order being delivered when they text to say it’s on its way. This is about 15 mins before they actually arrive.

Food quality is always really good from here but they need to work on customer services skills. A few times ive had to speak to them over the phone and the guy on the phone has been snippy, rude and has no patience. To the point where i wont phone to order I'll always do it over just eat or we have gone else where. Food is always hot and lovely but someone definitely needs to be spoken to about how they speak to their customers as its not great by any means

Been many times but disappointing start tonight with soft chewy Poppadums, not crisp as should be. Lamb tikka was also not tender but tough and chewy. Chicken Tikka, Patia sauce and cheese nan were all very good. Never had problems before, so can only hope its a one off. Complained to waiter but no deduction on our £45 bill for two people was offered. Service was excellent. We advised we were going to a nearby concert, so we did receive quick service 😳

Been here for a takeaway a few times and never had an issue, normally with my parents. However, recently had a friend over and ordered one online to be collected at 6:20pm only to collect it and get home and there be one curry missing and it was luke-warm at best (I only ordered 2 currys and 2 rice along with naan so not a big order). I tried to phone them numerous times (88 to be exact) for the phone line to be constantly busy, I understand it's a business but this was over the course of an hour. When the phone eventually did ring through I explained to the guy who answered that I'd collected a takeaway and that there was a curry missing to which he responded "oh your line is really bad, I can't hear you" and then he hung up on me. I tried to phone back but the line was again busy so I gave up. I 100% know my line wasn't bad as I only live 5 minutes down the road and in the same town with very good signal. Just a bit frustrating as have not had this issue before.

We recently moved into the area and decided to try The Raj Mahal, as we love an indian meal. We were not dissapointed. We booked online for a table late on a Saturday night. The restaurant was busy and lots of people were coming and going for take-away. Our food did not take long to arrive and tasted amazing. There is a large menu to choose from, so we will be back soon to try more! Thanks for a great meal and evening!

The food arrived late which was frustrating however they also delivered the wrong meal. When I phoned to explain the situation I was met by somebody with terrible customer service (the man was incredibly rude) and was told I could get my meal but it would be another hour. As expected I was frustrated at this and explained that I would rather just have a refund which I was told they could not do. They told me to phone back in 10 mins and they would tell me the exact time it would arrive. When I phoned back the gentleman was again very rude when I expressed my disappointment and when trying to discuss the situation with him he simply said goodbye and hung up. The food was lovely but this is the second time my food has been very late and I have been met with very rude people on the phone. Definitely will not be ordering from here again.

Having had previously bad experiences with Raj Mahal we've avoided the place for a long time. I have to say after tonight's meal they have really upped their game and credit where credit is due that has to be one of the best meals I've had from an Indian take away. The meal was hot, tasted amazing and other than the meat samosas being a bit spicy for our tastes it really was phenomenal. We will be back.

Amazing meal. One of the best curry's I've had in years.

We came here whilst on holiday and had one of the worst evenings out. My Wife was treated bad. God forbid a woman should try to order food or ask for a pint glass Service was shocking. They weren’t very busy and four tables came in after us. All these got their main courses before us. Nearly an hour in and only having drinks and a few poppadoms we asked why everyone else was eating but us. the servers reply was it’s coming. Then another man came over and said it no problem your food is coming but no apology. Award winning restaurant apparently. I don’t think. In fairness some of the food was good but don’t bother with a vindaloo. The most bland and unexciting curry I’ve ever had. Even my three boys said their curries had more kick and one of them was a tikka masala
