We’ve just come back here for the second time! Absolutely delicious curries. The best we’ve had the the UK. Lovely and traditional. Would highly recommend.

Authentic Indian food. Lovely setting with fantastic service. We had the ‘tiffin’ which was a variety of superb regional dishes and bread. Cannot fault any of the dishes. Light, tasty and left us feeling very satisfied. If you are visiting Pitlochry and want enjoy a superb meal please go here!!

We have visited the resteraunt on several occasions and absolutely love the food and the atmosphere. We decided to treat ourselves yet again but this time decided to book an overnight stay . Our room was so warm and inviting with a bathroom to die for . Our meal as always was exceptional, we always have a Tiffen and leave it up to the chef to choose for us and are never disappointed. The owners are the loveliest couple and greet us like old friends . We cannot wait to return and look forward to seeing the refurbishment of the resteraunt.

We visit Cidsin every time we stay in Pitlochry. It's always a fantastic and delicious experience. We ordered the tiffin box which comes with 2 starters, dhal, vegetables, a choice of curry, rice and 2 breads. It was fantastic as usual. EVERYTHING is delicious and so moreish. We were absolutely stuffed by the end of our meal. Cidsin is also a gin bar so there is a lovely choice of gins available. At each table there is a light up box you can tap if you need service, are ready to order or want to pay. Makes it very easy when you don't need to flag someone down. They come so promptly. We are looking forward to a return visit hopefully soon!

Decided to come try a takeaway , and they have exceeded expectations, the freshest most flavoursome Indian food I've eaten in a long time, it tastes as though your in someone's house eating food that was lovingly prepared and presented. Delicious 6 outta 5 stars.

Super unique indian street-food & regionalised tasty dishes, with a small, bespoke, exciting menu and great service. Try the Bread Pakora, it is light and divine. This was my second visit and will be my go to restaurant whenever I am in Pitlochry. ***** food and service.

We visited Cidsin while staying in Pitlochry between Christmas and New Year. The staff were so lovely and the food was exceptional. We live in Glasgow so have access to a lot of great Indian restaurants but we both agreed this was the best we've had. It's not your typical westernised Indian so don't go expecting that. Have an open mind and enjoy the flavours!

This was our 4th visit post Covid and the food and service are as good as always… Not sure what it’s is about Cidsin but if you don’t dine here you don’t know what you are missing! A Gem in Perthshire!!

We came here for dinner whilst on holiday with my Indian girlfriend. This is the most authentic Indian food we've ever tasted in the UK! My girlfriend said it reminded her of being back home in India! If you want a true Indian taste, this is where to go, so much better than the simplified versions most places do for us British people. धन्यवाद

This was our first visit to Cidsin and we were very impressed with both the food and the service. Our waitress explained the menu and specific dishes and she was very pleasant throughout the evening. We chose Aalo Bonda and Chuckandar Tikki to start, neither of which we had had at any Indian Restaurant before and both were delicious. The Chicken Curry of the week and Matar Mushrooms were equally delicious. The food is a more authentic Indian experience, with most of the dishes not being found on regular Indian Restaurants. When back in Pitlochry we're will most definitely return.

Good very close to indian food.

We had some friends drop by and decided to order a takeaway. Firstly the quality and taste of the food was amazing ; especially the homestyle chicken curry . Secondly the packaging was of the highest quality I have yet seen and placed in a lovely woven bag with decent handles. This is our go to restaurant whilst in Pitlochry . We usually sit in but a takeaway is a great option if family or friends drop by . A definite five stars .

On a very quiet evening we ate here and had an enjoyable meal. We went for their "Tiffin" - a meal of multiple smaller plates covering a range of foods including a larger dish which you select from their main curry selection ( we picked their tasty lamb "house" curry )... TT loved the unusual bread pakora from the starters selection ( these could have done with being larger portions perhaps) - good accompanying sauces with these. Everything was well flavoured. The Black dhal was very good but could have used more lentils in TTs opinion. Very friendly service. "Flat" atmosphere though .Prices are on a par with Glasgow ... the "Tiffin" is £59.95 for the multi dish meal. The restaurant is part of the Craigvrack Hotel ...just a shame it was so quiet at the time of our visit.

The best Indian I have had in Scotland. Unbelievable food and service.

I visited this restaurant due to the positive reviews but buyer beware. The staff were excellent but the food choices were limited. On arrival we were told that they made each curry in batch form and you cannot ask for changes (everyone gets the same curry). We ordered the from the tandoori selection to then be told we had no sauce option as the chef does not make individual sauces. To top this off they don’t do popadoms. Not sure why they have such a high rating.

Atmosphere was great, the staff were really helpful with explaining the different dishes. The food was so delicious and I would definitely recommend coming here for a great dining experience.

Varied, unusual and inventive modern Indian menu. Absolutely delicious home made food. Honestly one of the best Indian restaurants I have been in (and that's a lot!). We had beetroot fritters, the house speciality chicken and black dahl, cumin rice and home made paratha. Everything was SO tasty and nicely balanced spices. Will definitely be back next time in Pitlochry. We also stayed at the hotel - which was cosy, comfortable, good value and had lovely staff.

Had takeaway food. Delivered chicken biryani, black dhal and masala fries Absolutely wonderful. The biryani In particular was amazing. Subtle use of spice. Beautiful after taste. Felt really healthy homemade happy food.

Best Indian food in Scotland for me!

Everyone should try the wonderful Genuine Indian Cuisine which is served in Cidsin Bistro, have never enjoyed an Indian meal so much, the service was superb, the waiter explained in detail what was involved in each meal ,extremely helpful , and we were not disappointed !!! It was absolutely delicious !! Highly Recommend a visit !!!

We had a delicious Indian meal from the adjoining bistro, Cisden. Service from all staff was professional yet warm and friendly. Menu was clearly explained and after serving, staff checked in twice with us to ask if everything was to our liking. Book ahead to ensure a table is free as it was very busy when we were there. A wee gem tucked up on West Moulin road, Pitlochry.

We did not stay at the hotel, but went there for dinner after reading many great reviews, and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious. We chose the Tiffin and loved everything that was served. We are also big fans of Gin and Tonic, and really enjoyed the extensive menu they had. We would definitely dine there again.

Staff tremendous along with the food one of the best Indian meals we've had

Went for dinner. Food was excellent. Had the sharing dish which was a great way of having a variety of different things from the menu. Thought it was a unique way of having the meal and everything we had was fantastic quality. Staff were attentive, polite and professional. Stayed at the bar after the meal for a few drinks and had a very pleasant experience; bar atmosphere was very relaxed and enjoyable. Will be coming back next time we visit Pitlochry.

Popped in last minute and it was great! Food and flavours more interesting than your average, with something for both Meera Sodha/Indian street food fans, and those who want a great curry. Also efficient service and good Innis & Gunn beers on draught - the best-poured pint ive had for ages.

Highly recommend this restaurant. Indian food like you've never tasted before! Truly delicious and bursting with flavours. Friendly, attentive staff who explained the menu to us. We went for the Tiffin menu and were not disappointed. We finished off by sharing the Malai Kulfi for dessert and it was so delicious and refreshing. Our drinks were served by the loveliest, smiley-est barman! A must try when in Pitlochry for a truly delicious taste experience.

Best indian food around. Delicious especially the dhal and slightly different to other indian restaurants. Service fantastic. We have been here several times as we are local and can definitely recommend.

Average Indian dining experience with vegetarian and vegan options. Be aware that the mains don’t come with a side - these need to be ordered extra. The service was good and attentive.

We had the Tiffin meal at Cidsin restaurant and it was without doubt the best Indian meal we have ever eaten in Scotland. Wonderful food and great service by friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend this place for food.

Agree with other 5* reviews. This is a hidden gem in Pitlochry and we can’t recommend it more. Great staff, great menu, and the food is just so tasty, fragrant, not ridiculously hot and seems to have so many layers to the taste. The service is exceptional.

We went for dinner at 8pm for my partners birthday meal. The food was very good, service was very good. Lacking in atmosphere but I suppose that’s because it’s in a hotel. Didn’t like the fact that they started setting up for breakfast around us while we were still enjoying our meal and wine - it made us feel like we were in the way and they wanted us out. It’s a shame because the food was lovely and if I were up that way again I would eat there again but earlier before they are trying to get you out.

I can't say anything about the hotel. I was just a guest in the restaurant. Excellent Indian food and great service! I recently went to this Indian restaurant and loved it. As soon as you enter, you are greeted by a pleasant, exotic scent that immediately takes you into the culinary world of India. The menu offers a wide range of authentic dishes suitable for both mild and spicy food lovers. The service was also excellent. The staff was very friendly, attentive and always available to answer questions or make recommendations. The atmosphere was also pleasant - warm, inviting and with beautiful Indian decoration. Overall, a wonderful experience! For anyone looking for authentic Indian food, this restaurant is an absolute must. I will definitely come back!

We didn't stay at the hotel but we found the restaurant on Google, which we can't recommend highly enough. The locals recommended it also. The service was brilliant, really attentive and friendly staff. The food was very reasonably priced and absolutely amazing! It's really authentic and the tiffin box is a great way to try a few different dishes.

We had a fantastic evening at Cidsin Bistro, starting with a gin and tonic from their extensive menu featuring local gins. We then shared ‘The Tiffin,’ which offered a wonderful variety of dishes. Both the food and drinks were excellent. The service was friendly and attentive, with staff happily explaining the differences between the dishes when needed. Overall, a great dining experience!

We stayed at the Craigvrack Hotel recently after having eaten there many times in the past. It was a lovely quiet break with a good sized room and an excellent Scottish breakfast. Not having to drive meant we could enjoy the Gin Bar before enjoying the superb Indian food. The standard is as high as ever and the staff are super efficient and friendly. We will be back.

We had the tiffin for two which was delicious with a lovely selection of dishes. The beetroot starter was particularly tasty. Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff.

The hotel itself is really nice. It's up the hill (around a 10 minute steep walk from the main street), and that gives it a great view from atop. And the restaurant is really amazing. A top-level indian restaurant with a menu that wants you to order it all, but when the food starts coming the real experience starts. Every dish was the best of its kind I've ever tasted. Every sauce, every starter, the rice, the bread... All of them were incredible. Highly recommend coming here even if it's only to enjoy such a meal. And the service was really helpful in showing us what to order, what to pair it with and how to enjoy it. Really an 11/10 experience. All that paired with a great view of the sunset!

Wasn't a guest at the hotel but went to the bistro for dinner. There were several vegan options (or dishes that could be made vegan) - 3 starters, 2 tandoori dishes, and 2 main dishes. For two people a starter, two mains, rice and bread (can be made vegan if they don't butter it) were enough food. Overall, the food was very delicious and authentic which was a welcome surprise!

Fantastic food, and very reasonable. The starters were delicious and we would particularly recommend the house specials - I had the Chicken Labradar which was really good. The dishes are slow cooled and spicy rather than just hot, so felt more authentic

My fiancé and I split the Tiffin, and I could not believe how PHENOMENAL the food was—easily the best Indian I've had! Our starter of bread pakora was perfectly crisp and fluffy, served with a sweet, plummy sauce while the vegetarian and lamb curries had us both wide-eyed right after. The daal and naan offered a creamy, flavorful counterbalance to the powerful spices in the main courses, and we somehow managed to also partake of mango and rose lassi. Easily our favorite meal of the trip, and remarkably affordable for the quality you get! Could not recommend it enough!

Had the chicken lababdar and the goat curry. Was amazing. Ordered an extra naan to scoop up all the sauce. Best Indian food I have had in a long time.

Good food, good food and more good food. 100% charcoal grilled tandoori items. Rich in real spices and authentic indian flavours. Must try Paneer hara masala and chicken lababdar. The breads are perfectly cooked, crisp and soft. Great attention to flavours, presentation and quality. Undoubtedly the best Indian restaurant in Scotland.

Loved the food. I’ve had Indian food in the UK and Europe before. But it’s never tasted Indian. THIS ONE DOES. The menu is incredible. The preparation is even more so. If there’s a food joint I know I’d come back to its this. Mr. Chetan came and spoke to us and made our stay all that much more comfortable and better.

Review is for Cidsin Indian Bistro. We ordered the Tiffin to share between our family of 3. All of us loved it. We live in Manchester and the quality here was every bit as good as our favourite Indian street food & tiffin places back home. For my money, this is the best cooking to be found in Pitlochry and the best curry I've eaten in Scotland.

Chance visit as we were just passing on way back to holiday home. So glad we did. Staff were excellent. Waiter took time to explain all the dishes and the way their cooked. And we weren't disappointed. Food was first class. Sadly we didn't have enough time left to return but next time we're in the area we will definitely be back.

The most delicious authentic Indian food. Staff are very knowledgable and informative regarding advising menu choices. Lots of options from small plates to tiffin and larger dishes. We will definitely return and have also decided with friends to return and stay over just to be able eat here!

My husband and I love to try a curry on holiday at some stage and the reviews here were great so gave it a go. It was fabulous! Had the house lamb curry and it was spectacular! Meat so tender, sauce so tasty. Not your usual menu but seriously worth the walk up the hill from the Main Street. Service was great too! 10/10 for us curry lovers!

We were recommended by our host Jonny at the Garden Rooms to try Cidsin for dinner on the evening we spent in Pitlochry. After looking at the menu and the overall offer we took the walk up the hill for dinner arriving just before the restaurant opened. We were warmly welcomed in the bar by the lovely Luckshay ( forgive me if i misspelled your name my friend). He served us drinks and soon took us through to the restaurant where we met the lovely Suzie who showed us to a nice table by the window with a sensational view. Suzie was on hand to explain the dishes on offer on the menu, which was very interesting and enticing. The shared starter of chicken pieces with spicy coating served with a coriander dip was a revelation - truly delicious and absolutely perfect as our starter. I chose the Lamb Currie of the Week with Tumeric cumin rice - the lamb was meltingly tender & delicious in a sauce which perfectly complimented the meat, with warm spices and deep delicious full flavour. My partner chose the Chicken Currie of the Week with steamed rice, and requested a side of split fresh chillies to adjust and increase the heat (he loves a nice hot HOT curry). It must be said that the rice was perfectly cooked and presented, very fluffy as a good rice should be - both perfect meals for us and our taste. Both our meals were very substantial and it should be said, we are very particular, we both fully appreciated the food and the wonderful service in Cidsin. Suzie and Luckshay were very attentive and kind, fulfilling our wishes beyond our expectations. We plan to return here on our next visit to Pitlochry and would highly recommend this wonderful restaurant for everyone who loves Indian food - you will appreciate the difference and uniqueness of the Cidsin cuisine and service. Thank your all for making our visit even more special than we could have hoped for.

We booked the restaurant due to its #1 rating on trip advisor and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere and food were excellent. Staff were all great with our 2 month old too which was such a releif as we felt very welcome to be there. We will be back ASAP.

Very small portions (the children's menus are more like starters), the dishes taste okay, but are overpriced in terms of price-performance ratio. Lots of hot air...

I am only referring to the restaurant as I was not a guest at the hotel. I love Indian vegetarian cuisine and - I'll be honest - I didn't expect to find one of the best vegan tandoori kebabs on the far corner of Pitlochry. Homemade, super seasoned, simply great! Respect! I did not stay at the hotel but ate at Cidsin Bistro.I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Firstly, the food was fantastic. You will find it hard to find Indian food of this quality anywhere else, including Glasgow and Edinburgh. The staff are also super organised, warm, friendly but highly professional. It is definitely worth a visit, you will be so glad you made the effort.

This Indian restaurant surpassed all expectations. Its originality in both cuisine and service is paying off. There were two of us, one who has travelled in Indian extensively and the other who has worked in hospitality for decades. We commend you and will be back! Please continue with your magical mix.

The best Indian food I have eaten in many years, and vegetarian options that all looked delicious. I cannot recommend this bistro highly enough - absolutely first class.

This is strictly a review of Cidsin Bistro, as we did not stay at this hotel. It’s a little bit of a walk from downtown, but the scenery is pretty, and there’s a sidewalk the whole way. Service was friendly and attentive, and the food was really, really good. We ordered the Tiffin, which was too much food for the two of us, but we were really glad we got to try all of the things. We really enjoyed the vegetable curry, daal, and chicken curry of the week. For me, the standout was the chukandar tikki (beetroot, potato, and paneer croquette). It is best thing I’ve eaten in the UK. Like, I’m actively sad that I probably will never get to eat it again. I wish I’d remembered to take a picture so I can at least be reminded of it in my photos. 😂
