What a gem of a Cafe! My wife and I have been to this Cafe a few times and on each occasion have been delighted with the service and excellent tasty food. We have tried the soups, casserole, muffins, brownies and sandwiches which are all absolutely delicious 😋 Nicola, James and Elsie are superb hosts and provide a Cafe with charm, friendly atmosphere and great fare 🙏👍😃
Fantastic lunch yesterday at Kaoglen restaurant. Food was excellent, staff were fantastic. Started with Brushetta followed by the Piri Piri chicken burger which was delicious, my wife had the carbonara and said it was one of the best she’s eaten. Fantastic views from the restaurant and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back and can highly recommend
Cannot fault the pizza - it’s delicious! Nice staff and a good service.
Loses a few stars as it’s not dependable. Don’t get yourself excited for a pizza takeaway in Crieff as good chance it’ll be closed. Devastating. Closed more than it’s open.
An absolute gem of a find! The best coffee in town, and the best bacon rolls I've ever had! We will definitely be coming back whenever we visit Aberfeldy again.
Now this is what I call a bowl of soup. The tastiest chicken and rice soup I've ever had. So filling unfortunately I had no room for a tasty toastie or any of the cakes on display. This welcoming cafe in the pretty village of Kirkmichael in South Ayrshire is well worth the drive. Just 20 mins from Ayr.
Popped in for lunch when passing. Far better than adequate, lovely soup, good coffee, tempting bakes, pleasant staff, nice ambience, clean toilets, good value.
On a long drive on a hot sunny day, fortunately we saw the sign for ice-cream and we stopped. We're very glad we did! A good range of flavours and two ( huge) scoops each at very reasonable charge, we were refreshed and on our way. Thank you! Pity we could try a pizza ( or two!)
👍
Wandering around whilst my wife stranded a lunchtime meeting today & dropped upon this gem.
A glass of Portuguese Pinot Noir served at a perfect temperature and a cheese board of exceptional quality made killing time an absolute pleasure.
Nice little menu and could easily spend many hours in here.
Thankyou
Tonight we decided to try the Dunning hotel for our evening meal. The bar is quirky for an older style hotel with bench style seating with cushions. My wife ordered the beef steak pie with vegetables and chips, and I ordered the klopski polish pork meatballs in a tomato sauce, both dishes were very tasty . The meat in the beef steak pie was beautiful and tender with a nice rich flavoured gravy. The polish style meatballs had a lovely flavoursome tomato sauce. The Dunning hotel is nothing fancy but was welcoming and friendly 👍
Being going to the shop in George Street for some time now. Fantastica panetteria - Best bread in town no need to add butter/jam especially when eaten fresh. Will slice it if required and is great for freezing. Also does a mean coffee and great selection of tasty original Italian "sandwiches" cakes and biscuits all made with the best of stuff. Not the cheapest but good value and well worth the money for the quality products.
My wife and I visited Dunkeld and Birnam after attending a wedding in the area and, after hearing about a bookshop in Birnam, wanted to make sure we visited before heading home.
What a fantastic bookshop! We spent ages browing through the superb collection of books - both of us taken with the large range of art and photography books. Even though they were all second hand, the condition was immaculate. The prices for books that essentially looked new was another bonus, being far less than I initially thought. Needless to say we both left very happy with a stack of books between us. Icing on the cake was a coffee to take away (talking of cake, there was cake as well, but sadly after filling ourselves up with our hotel breakfast we couldn't bring ourselves to try any). Service was faultless as well and very pleasant.
Will definitely be back next time we're in the area.
