We have enjoyed visiting Gloagburn for years now and have never had a single complaint to make. The food is excellent, the ambience nice and the staff always pleasant. The standard has never slipped in any area and it's lovely to have the owners on site and helping out. It is also nice in this day and age to go somewhere where there aren't dogs under every table and drooling at their owners side!, they are welcome outside where there are several tables and undercover seating too. I would recommend this place to anyone - my favourite!

I visited the coffee shop on Friday with my elderly mum and 2 grandsons - one of whom is autistic. The service by Tom was exceptional, my grandson is very particular and will only go to places he knows because when it comes to eating foods and drinking hot chocolate they have to be served "his way". He had placed his order to Tom with my help however we weren't explaining correctly, his hot chocolate must have frothy bit then the sprinkles with the marshmallows on the side - Tom took note and promised he would bring it out. Oh the plain scone had to be served with 2 butters. Tom you are an excellent staff member and the coffee shop is very lucky to have you, you came back to check he was happy with his order and you did all this with the biggest smile 😃. My husband and I visited today - so I could have a more relaxing cuppy in peace and yes I saw Tom and thanked him. When paying the bill today it was Mrs Gloagburn who was serving and I expressed my feelings about Tom (that how I learned his name), she asked me to leave a review and thanked me for my comments. Food is always so good here, it is a treat to come but so worth it. Today it was breakfast and my goodness the eggs benedict were out of this world tasty. Thank you for such good service.

I visited this dog friendly establishment today with my family and our rescue dog that we are trying to socialise. We thought it would be a nice place to take him because you can sit outside and have something to eat while introducing the dog to a new environment. The dog did get excited at times and barked at other dogs and people who came to see him, the young girls and boys who were serving us thought he was a lovely dog. Unfortunately some people in the restaurant objected to his barking and we were asked to leave by the management. We had just received our food, which was very nice but was spoilt because we had to rush it. It makes me think the management prefer the clientele in the restaurant over dog lovers. The two stars I have awarded are for the friendly staff and food.👎

Well stocked gift shop with something for every style and taste, including books, clothing, toiletries, and jewellery. Food, produce, deli, sweet and savoury gift foods - everything you could hope for at a Perthshire Farm Shop! Each element of the cooked breakfasts was cold. This was mentioned to staff. When the plate was brought back, the waiter confirmed that the eggs had been reheated in the pan rather than cooking fresh eggs. The eggs were also very charred. The link sausages, when brought back, had been cut lengthways. Upon receiving the bill for the full amount, I politely pointed out that breakfasts were cold and not finished as a result. The response received was that all other tables in the farm shop enjoyed their breakfast. One of the owners asked a member of staff if she recognised me because she had not seen me in the restaurant before... how peculiar. I do not understand the relevancy of such a question whether it be a long-standing customer or a new customer. I found the customer service, particularly at this point, poor. The drinks were later deducted from the bill. The overall staff morale appeared very low.

Not dog friendly, first thing you see is a big notice on the shop door that dogs are not welcome inside, fair enough as food on sale but cant understand why no dogs in the cafe, they seem to be allowed with you outside in little wooden huts, very depressing and unwelcoming. Pity this venture has not bought in to the positives of being truly dog friendly,

Breakfast was good - the kids pancakes were awesome, Mediterranean eggs were ok - maybe hollandaise and the tomato didn't go that well. What put this review from a 4 to a 3 was the general attitude of the staff. No smile. When I walked in we thought my kid and said "morning" to someone at the door, they barely acknowledged me. Staff went through motions in the cafe, asked the right questions but had no spark or smile. I'm the gift shop, the lady on the till was passive aggressive because I interrupted her "sorting" to buy some of their overpriced stuff.

Stocks a variety of products, has a butcher & nice frozen goods - it is very expensive & is clean, slightly remote location. Main reason am rating as three star is due to the cost; if you want to buy a gift such as a jug of olive oil for £25 or a scarf for £88 this is an ideal place. The cafe sells sandwiches for around £10. As a consequence of the prices it attracts an older crowd.

I’ve been a customer at this café for many years and have usually found the staff friendly and welcoming, one of the main reasons I’ve returned. However, my recent visit was dismal. I have never been treated so badly in any cafe. I went in at 5:55 PM after a difficult day, hoping for a peaceful and relaxing haven. Instead, I was ignored for the first several minutes, and when finally acknowledged, I was pushed to ask for a takeaway rather than a sit-in option. I don't remember the younger junior staff member whereas the other staff member I'd seen on some occasions. But as a pair, and especially the senior member, they worked diligently to be the epitome of unfriendliness. I ended up accidentally ordering caffeinated coffee instead of decaf because I felt so uncomfortable. At 6:10 PM—just 15 minutes after I walked in and 20 minutes before closing—the staff had already made it very clear they wanted everyone out. When I have gone in just before 6:00 p.m before this was not the case. This pair took my cup away, the senior gave me a dirty look, they turned off the music, shut up the fridge, and began banging, clattering & the senior swept right around my feet. She also opened the door, ostensibly to sweep outside, but it brought a freezing gale of sub zero air right where I was sitting. By 6:20, I was the last customer because the others had already been hounded out and I couldn't stand it anymore which was the obvious plan. It could not have been clearer they wanted to leave themselves at, or ideally before the stated time of 6.30 rather than close the shop then. I cannot imagine treating anyone this way, never mind a customer. I understand the desire to clean up before closing, but the way this done was rude, selfish & unprofessional. If you want people out at six o'clock you should change the opening hours and tell people at quarter to 6 that you will be closing in 15 minutes. I was left feeling that I had done something wrong when actually I was a customer who walked in 35 minutes before closing. I hope this experience was an anomaly, as it doesn’t reflect the service I’ve come to expect from this café over the years.
