A little gem of a place. We visited it twice during our stay in Pitlochry.

Fantastic bar/restaurant in Pitlochry. Lovely menu, really attentive waiting staff, good drinks. I’ll definitely be back. The Haggis, Neeps & Tatties starter was so good but I forgot the photo. The chicken burger was real good too, no room for dessert. Wife loved the venison burger.

2nd time in two days visit for lunch. Family of 4 and one small dog. Food was great. Lots of choices. Good choice of beer. Garden was lovely. Lots of space. ☀️ Was plenty.

The staff are very welcoming and friendly with excellent service, I am on a carnivore diet and the chef prepared my steaks and eggs perfectly, which was greatly appreciated, I would highly recommend a visit.

Ordered the burger came out raw so sent it back when I received my second burger it was still raw in the middle

We were up in pitlochry for a couple of days and were wandering around and found this cosy little place.From the moment we walked in until we left we couldn't have been made to feel more welcome.It was a lovely experience.On this occasion we didn't eat,but the food looked and smelt lovely,definitely worth a visit

We popped in here for a drink after a disappointing dinner and it was great. The service was amazing, the place was lively, and it was dog friendly. We didn't eat but it was a cool place with a nice pub feel and good prices for drinks. The food smelled delicious but I can't vouch for that. We did some people watching and everyone seemed very happy with their food and experience. Check it out for sure, even if just for a bevvie!!! UPDATE Next day, we were comng back thru town and stopped for dinner, i had rhe fish and chips, he had the venison pie. No reservation but they fit us in, and the food was amazing. Delicious venison pie, and the fish was lightly breaded and crispy and perfect. Not greasy, chips were crisp. All around awesome and a fair price for the food.

I just returned from a short advy to Pitlochry. There we popped into this pub-restaurant. The place has such a rustic and cozy charm, with its warm wooden decor and cabin-like feel—like stepping into an old-style Scottish retreat. My boyfriend and I had a lovely time, enjoying a couple of glasses of wine while soaking in the cozy atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious! We had the burger and the seafood tagliatelle, both of which were excellent. The service was very efficient, with waiters checking on us frequently, which shows how fast-paced and well-managed the place is. However, at times, it felt a bit rushed, as different waiters came to take our order before we were ready. Other than that, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely recommend it for a warm and inviting meal in Pitlochry.

There's not much to say, I will visit again, the food was delicious, hot, served with a smile and the staff were professional and attentive.

Food was nice but by the time it got to the table it wasn't very warm. Unfortunately they had puy warm food on a cold plate. I had steak pie the meat was delicious but by the time you ate it with warm quickly cooling veg it was a bit disappointing. Just make sure your plates are hot and you've cracked it

Great friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere but was served a beet salad (ordered it as a main) that was little more than a few beets and some lettuce. The staff thankfully charged me only for a small salad but I wouldn’t eat here if you’re actually hungry.

Quite expensive and slow, and the atmosphere is a bit too modern for an auld inn. But the food was good, especially fish and chips and chicken balmoral.

A real pub. My girlfriend and I had a very, very good time in this very pleasant and lively bar. The service was excellent, Marina treated us great, and it was her first month in the town since she came from outside. That day we were lucky enough to enjoy live music, very fun!

We are travelling and stopped over for a quick lunch at Pitlochry, and I chanced upon TASI restaurant and had a lovely meal there! We ordered soups, scallops, burrata, salmon salad, venison pie, and steak fillet sandwich, which were all super delicious! Absolutely loved the service and restaurant vibe!

We had a burger + chips and a chicken sandwich. The burger was good but the chicken sandwich was average. This place has a cosy atmosphere and vibe but it is very expensive. I understand that this is a small town but I was shocked by the prices.

We were there in early summer 2012. The Highland Games had just ended when we were in town and went out to eat at the Auld Smiddy Inn. I had mussels and my wife had fish and chips. The food was very good. I can still remember it well today and am happy that other guests also like it

I was staying for work in a nearby hotel (Westlands of Pitlochry), who does not offer dinner, so wandered the short walk to here. It had been snowing shortly before I arrived, so the feel and atmosphere upon arrival was wonderful and magical. There was a fireplace on and the other guests were relaxed and also enjoying the place. I was quickly seated and given a menu. The order for food and drinks was quick, as was the dinner service. I enjoyed a large beef burger, with a nice pint of Cold Town larger. Perfect spot for a spot for either a relaxed drink or full meal. Thank you to the team for the warm welcome

What a lovely pub. I popped in as I was staying in a b&b around the corner and managed to get a table. I had haggis bon bons followed by chicken and black pudding pie, and both were absolutely delicious. A good selection of local brews. The staff are young yet enthusiastic, moving at pace, keeping everyone happy but still managing to be engaging. Well done to front of house and kitchen, a really enjoyable dinner.

In our Highland tour , most magical place was for us is the Auld Smiddy Inn. Fish and chips especially delicious, recomended highly.

We stopped here whilst passing through Pitlochry on a tour. The staff were very friendly and inviting. We had a drink sat but the fire, perfect on a cold winters evening. Sadly, we could not stay longer otherwise we would’ve been there all night. Would highly recommend

The Auld Smiddy Inn was an easy walk from our hotel so we decided to check it out. We had a table near the fireplace that was warm and cozy. Service was attentive and we enjoyed the fish (haddock) and chips.

Tremendous restaurant ; friendly staff with a n interesting and adventurous menu . Fish and Chips was really tasty as was the venison . Also nicely busy which is always a good sign . Highly recommend visiting whilst in Pitlochry . We shall return again without a doubt .

Under new owners this pub has been very much improved. We have been to pitlochry many times. We had Sunday lunch and it was fabulous would really recommend. The staff were very welcoming and friendly.

Some portions are small, but the food is tasty. Friendly staff and clean place.

Great place to stop for lunch. Very warm and welcoming staff. Food is delicious with plenty selection. Dogs welcome which is always a bonus.

It is trying to punch above it's weight but not quiet there Best stick to the sandwiches. Otherwise rather expensive.

Keep up the good work Tony and crew.... Just get the strawberry daiquiris going 😂... Tony knows!!! I did have a light lunch on the Sunday, haggis bon bons with whisky sauce. Omg I loved them. I'll be having my Sunday roast before going home next time... It looked delicious!!! The music the night we were there was 3 young local lads, they were so good. Stopped by for birthday lunch, greeted warmly and offered lunch even though was like 2mins before food orders stopped. Tasty food had the venison pie.

So I've been in a lot of pubs . Part of my life. Must be said the service in five separate visits over a month so far has been amazing . Properly looked after drinks. Friendly smiling staff . Very clean pub . Lovely pub food . For a tourist based location it's surprising to see standards so high and service so friendly. Thank you .

We had a big family meet up. The pub set the table very well for ten people. The service was excellent and the food delicious, thank you.

Sad to say very disappointing. Waiting staff polite and efficient otherwise the eating experience very poor. Had venison pie with " seasonal steamed vegetables". Unfortunately, the pie was dry and the vegetables consisted of one half of a small carrot and a small cauliflower stalk. Spoke to a local couple sitting next to us who ate little of their meal, later saying to us that food there was very good on some days and awful on others....Oh, and meals are expensive. Staff, however, gave us a 10% discount once we quietly pointed out our dissatisfaction....

Went in for an evening meal. Not looking for much so picked a salad. Very nice. Staff friendly and efficient - will be on the top of our list next time we’re in Pitlochry. Needed gluten free and, whilst their menu doesn’t list specifics, the staff clearly knew what was needed and were able to point out options (and what would be changed to suit).

Went in on a busy Saturday night, wasn’t expecting to be able to get a table - however they did have a table free. Staff were all excellent, friendly and all very attentive. Food was great, table service was great - prices were very reasonable and had a fantastic chilled out evening sat in the restaurant. Would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone.

It was our first visit,didn't eat there,drink prices were not to bad,friendly staff and good Atmosphere.

Basic pub grub which is insanely overpriced. They’ve clearly upped their prices to cash in on the enchanted forest. I wouldn’t have minded if the food and service matched the cost but it really didn’t. If you’re going to pay £10-£12 for a starter, you expect it to be Michelin standard. We waited 25 minutes for tap water, and when we asked about it we’re told abruptly that the bar was very busy. We had ordered plenty of bar drinks as well which came fairly promptly, so assume they just weren’t prioritising anything which didn’t make them money. Which kind of sums this place up.

Amazing Sunday Roast. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We are on Holiday at Milton on Fonab. Were given complimentary drinks. Great atmosphere plenty of ales to choose from which made Hubby happy. Will definitely be back before we leave.

This is a fantastic pub. From the food to the service to the atmosphere - everything was absolutely spot on. It has a great look and feel inside and out. We came to town for one night and picked this as it looked good, authentic and local. The local beer - Smitty lager - is a very clean beer and worth a pint. They have a good selection of whiskies including local ones. And lastly, the cheesecake is delicious.

We've only been to Pitlochry twice and dined here both times because it's that good. Between the excellent assortment of pours, plus a nicely inventive menu, this is the place to stop for discerning diners who want more than your standard fare. The servers are all so kind and friendly as well and the dining room is both modern and cozy.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. 3 of us and we all had something different and we all said how good it was. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Atmosphere was very welcoming We would have had a little walk back to our hotel but staff arranged for a taxi to pick us up All in all a very enjoyable visit.

It’s the town centrepiece. The true Scottish pub experience. Loved the food. Loved the ambiance and even more loved the service. Made my day worth it. Probably one of the best places to get a good drink in town.

Try the cask ales here - won’t get this in the States! Second time here and wonderful again.

Lovely meal with a lovely atmosphere. Staff were friendly and prompt. Lots of space and room to eat outside if wanted. Prices were reasonable. The best meal we have had since being in pitlochry. Definitely would rate this higher.

We arrived unannounced with a small dog and were given a lovely friendly welcome. Drinks menu is extensive and the Dinner menu was outstanding. Food arrived promptly and piping hot, beautifully presented and served by friendly and helpful staff. Food was deliciously tasty and cooked just right. However, while the pudding was well presented and tasty, disappointingly Chef seems to be unaware that the Scots dish "Cranachan" is in fact a concoction made from Raspberries, cream and whisky. Overall a delicious Italian meal, thank you we will be back.

What a gem of a pub. I just had an ox cheek starter but it was superb. The staff and atmosphere were excellent.

We went to this place on our recent visit. We had seen reviews on the internet showing food. The meal we went in for the Seafood Platter was no longer available, was 3 years out of date. Very expensive food and drink. No atmosphere. Would not return. Thank you for your response. It was your serving staff that told us the menu was 3 years out of date. Our budget is not in question if the food drink and service were worth the price we would have paid gladly as we have at many other establishments. You were not there at the time of our visit so you cannot possibly comment on our experience. You may have many satisfied customers but we were not. My husband drinks premium lager of which there was none. He was offered a local lager which he took a pint of. He left half of it and bought a pint of cider instead. Like I said the Seafood Platter was what we specifically came for how are we to know there are 2 web sites. When we asked about ti's meal and showed a picture if it the serving staff told us that menu is 3 years out of date. Not a word about there being 2 Web sites. So maybe your staff need to be retrained. I understand you don't like negative comments but you are providing a service which we are paying for so we are entitled to have an opinion.

The best pub we've encountered on our journey so far. You can really feel the quality and freshness of the ingredients. The menu, besides the standard fish and chips, offers other delicious and interesting dishes, which can't be said for other restaurants in the area. I really liked excellent beetroot salad and vegan eggplant dish. The interior is newly decorated and cozy, they have a beautiful garden, the staff is very friendly, and you can clearly see that the restaurant is run by people who truly care.
