The best restaurants serving British food in Wales

Tonight had treat of fish and chips sat up in bed 2 in morning after being sick, headache feeling sick and taste the old oil of my fish . Never again .

Sunday lunch for two, very good service particularly by Kaylie. Food was excellent, as was the coffee.

I rate this place not because anyone would think it a 5 star hotel, but because to me it was a 5 star stay. Cosy and friendly, comfortable and clean, and in a good old fashioned pub that serves food, it was ideal. Well equiped rooms, great location at the end of the villages high street.

Review for Afternoon Tea at Lake Vyrnwy Hotel: We enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon tea in beautiful surroundings. However, there are a few areas that could be improved. It would be nice to have a choice of sandwiches rather than a set selection. The room was quite cold, particularly when guests sitting on the balcony left the door open. The teapots were slightly tarnished, and the cake stand was a bit wobbly. The tables looked a little scuffed—white tablecloths would really help enhance the presentation. The hotel in general could benefit from a refurbishment to bring it into the 21st century. Also worth noting: cash is not accepted here, which may be inconvenient for some. The decaf coffee was a little weak, and it would have been more welcoming if the waiter had asked where we’d prefer to sit, especially as the room was mostly empty, rather than directing us to a specific table. On the plus side, the waiting staff were polite and friendly throughout.

Sadly no vegetarian options. Even chips are not vegetarian as they are cooked with other food.

Fireworks display for news years eve - not a nice place to take your family to. Everyone looked like crack heads and were really loud and rude! Even the manager was joining in and looked off his face! Do not take your family here

Ordered through Just Eat, the food was delivered quickly and was nice and warm. The portion sizes were fairly good and all the food tasted nice. I would order again.

Amazing traditional pub, REALLY local cider (rhubarb one was top notch) and the best sausage ‘panini’ ever. Very friendly staff and a lovely meal. Thanks

Food was bueatiful,yet disgusting attitude of the lady behind bar I'm sure she was head manager,myself and my staff was having lunch with the ppl we support,when eating dessert the person we support was having trouble swallow chocolate cake,she had started panicking i went to bar where it was a queue so went to the nearest lady who was taking stuff back to bar,I politely ask please can I have a glass of water,she didn't stop an answer just mumbled back I'm busy doing something didn't even turn around to answer just walked of,by this time I had to go to ladies toilet to get water,appalling behaviour,food and atmosphere is outstanding there tho,seemed as if sum1 had an off day,the situation could of turned a lot worse!
