Only chip shop I've ever been in where they never ask you if you want salt and vinegar and then look at you like you've got 3 heads when you realise they've wrapped it all and not put any on and ask for soke!

Gone down hill massively. Person who served me asked what I wanted while looking completely disinterested, didn’t listen and then asked me to repeat everything I said. I asked twice for salt and vinegar but never had it. The chicken curry and chips was tasteless, mushed up slodge with jelly like chicken and went straight in the bin. Won’t be back. This was around 17:30 on Friday 02/02

Good food, polite and good service.

Visited today, im not a massive fish and chippy goer and after tonight I don't think I'll bother again. The woman was really nice who served me but struggled to listen to my order. All my food was packed and not even an offering of salt and vinegar and as we wasn't going home to eat most of the food went in the bin. The chips were soggy no crunch nothing. The mince pie was bang average too. £23 for two small chips and one medium 2 curries 1 pie Chicken strips and 3 cans!! I don't mind paying good money for food but I was totally ripped off!! I would say avoid this place but try it if you like sticky soggy chips and like paying over the odds

Best fish and chips around! Staff are so lovely and assist in any way they can. We travel to get our food from here as they are better then our local fish and chip shops. It's definitely worth the journey.

Update 2023. For some reason they use mozzarella cheese on chips which is very stringy, instead of cheddar. Its not a Pizza. Just because other people may not complain, doesn’t mean it cant be improved….😒 Just received our first delivery after booking online. Very pleased, especially after a terrible experience with Cod Father Blackwood. Less than 30 mins from order to door and piping hot. Very nice fruit curry and Cod, with very generous portion of perfect cooked chips. Great, friendly service from the delivery driver. Definitely good value for money and will order again.

Arrived 30 mins before closing last night, waited no more than 10 mins and had 2 freshly cooked meals. Service was excellent and food was tasty. Thanks for the 5 star treatment folks - even though you were cleaning and preparing to close your customer service was exemplary!!

All the experiences I’ve had there were brilliant I was served by Chrissie Rees she was amazing, super polite, she made the atmosphere in the fish bar great! I recommend going there and trying the battered sausage a chips 🤤top notch !! X

Ordered a take away 4 fish bites and chips and 4 battered sausages at 9.30 pm just before closing . Got home and 3 sausages missing , fish wasn't nice had some grit in it and chips were soggy and stuck together on the lid -so all in all not the best experience . Staff were friendly enough and when I called them back I was offered a refund for the missing food which I have to go back for in person . Very disappointing experience .

Ordered 2 cod and chips, after waiting 20 minutes and people after me being served and going I asked politely where my order was as I'd been waiting 20 minutes, the young miss Attitude said you've only been waiting 9 minutes and showed me a receipt, I then showed her my receipt with my time showing 20 minutes, her words my bad, this is someone else's receipt, 2 minutes latest she handed me my cold food and said YOU ARE , lovely attitude towards a customer, customers said to me what an absolute disgusting attitude, if the young madam spent as much time concentrating on her orders as she did talking perhaps the queues would go quicker and orders would be right

Very nice freshly fried fish. Was a mistake on order when arrived home which they promptly rectified to my satisfaction.

Disgusting!! i’m a regular with this place i’ve had my food delivered and was missing a fish. somebody rings me back basically calling me a liar funny how my fish just vanishes in transit. won’t be going there again after that behaviour ended up £6 for gravy and chips 👍

Will never order from there again. Phoned and ask for chip roll cheese and bean and I had gravy not bean and when I phoned them they said they will get my order right and sent it back out with gravy again, phoned up and complained again and finally got my order right and i opened my food and my food was swimming in bean and bean sauce and cold. I couldn’t even eat it. What waste of 5.20 shocking. Wouldn’t be ordering food again from there. We need another tidy fish shop in Newbridge.

Porsion size and price very good compare with London area.

Cod bies was rock bard . Small portion sizes for the price of everything. Mushy peas like water , gravey very lumpy Very disappointed

Sausage in batter was inedible, definitely some low quality premade frozen rubbish they buy from a wholesaler, chips were lacking in flavour and portion size was poor for the price.

Very expensive only had chip butty with curry sauce on top and a sausage and batter cost me £8.40 bit of a rip off.

I buy fish and chips from Conti's Newbridge shop about once a month. I always find the food to be tasty and hot. Prices have risen over the last year but that's understandable. I still find it good value.

Been to Contis a number rof times and always throughly enjoyed, decided to place an order to be delivered for a change. Ordered 2 large chips and 2 sausage and batters (small) paid £12 and was very shocked by the portion sizes! Barely enough chips for one person! Not worth the price will never order qgain!! Photos included are both bags of chips before any had been taken out!

Like I said before nice fish and chips and u get loads at a good price and open all day, but the food needs to be cooked fresh when it's been hanging about for a while that's when they start to get the bad reviews, it's a hit and miss chippy hope this was helpful 👍.

Had minced beef pie and chips last night I thought the pie tasted funny hence to say why within 1 hour I was violently ill as you can imagine. BE WARNED

Food is really nice but couldn't eat it because my added instructions wasnt listened to again. So a whole fish and chips binned and wasted. It's not the first its happened added instructions not being listened to. And for this reason I will not be going back.

Visited a friend, and ordered from here. Food was excellent. Fish was massive. Fish bites where a great size. Will be having food from here when I visit next.

Food arrived piping hot & within an hour. Beautiful meat pies & gravy. Anyone who likes the occasional chippy tea.... Go to Conti Fish Bar. You won't be disappointed.

Very poor quality cod and chips the last time I went there.

Bland, bland , bland...soggy chips and batter, the chips actually came out of the take away box as a block of partially cooked potato bits held together with grease. Fish batter peeled off while attempting to separate the cod from the unit of chips, it also had zero flavour or seasoning, disappointing to say the least.

Had cod bite and chips today fish was OK but chips were cold and dry like they had been there for ages !! Very disappointing.

Ordered food for delivery , when over an hour late I called to find out where it was. Staff were very rude and really could not bothered. It was as if I was asking for some sort of miracle and not the food I had paid for. Will never order again. The food isn’t great quality at the best of times.

The best fish and chips in Wales. The portions of fish and chips are huge. The fish is juicy and the batter is exquisite covered. The staff and the owners are polite. It's a must place if you are near the area. The price of the meal is a bargain.

Not sure what's happened but this used to be a lovely chip shop, always fresh and tasty but past few months it's gone down hill and tonight it's topped it off... I don't normally post reviews but I feel like tonight's dinner needed to be noticed as it was disgusting. 7 meals purchased 6 sausage and 1 pie... 6 sausages left as they was not edable, tasted like plastic and was hard as a rock! And chips was like eating 3 days old and warmed up in microwave not good conti. Hope it's gets better

OMG!!!😋🤤 Absolute palate parade! Delicious burger, onion ring and mozzarella stick options for such a budget price. Definitely recommend!
