Harvester - Spytty in Newport

Came round for early dinner with my other half and Lewis has been amazing waiter, friendly welcome and enjoys a good chat and lush to vibe with. Always recommend coming here no matter what

We dine in every week,the staff are excellent, service is excellent and the food is always very good,menus are of a very good variety.Lewis and Nathan are excellent servers and make customers very welcome.

Our waitress Lesley was so lovely and accommodating and absolutely amazing with our three year old. She made our whole visit more enjoyable. The food was fantastic and the restaurant was clean and beautifully decorated.

Went here for granddaughter’s birthday Salad bar half empty, steak chewy, chicken dry, salad bar roll were stale not impressed. Seems like we chose a Friday night might be better in the day as it was pretty empty. Sorry but have no desire to come back so disappointed.😢 what happened to the fresh warm rolls which were always very nice.

We came on a Friday afternoon, we didn’t book but were seated straight away. We were served by Lesley who was lovely and chatty. Food came quickly and Lesley checked back multiple times to make sure we were okay. Really great service and food, will definitely be back.

Slow service. Arrived with a booking and were the only people waiting to be seated. 3 staff members said they'd be with us in a second. Watched them serve multiple people and deal with deliveries. After more than 5 minutes we walked out. Didn't rate food or atmosphere as it was probably fine.

Why include an option of a free salad, when you dont add it to the order?

Booked in for 9AM online, arrived 9:01AM doors locked, raining outside, so we just stood there for few minutes waiting for someone to unlock the doors. 9:05AM after they have seen us outside they unlock the doors and let us in. Should have been a red flag straight away. Ordered breakfast, arrived - toast has been dipped in water (soggy) other slice burned completely. Poached eggs overcooked might as well have been boiled eggs. Hash brown might have been fried bread with the amount of oil in them (none of this could have been told to the waitress as to why - keep on reading). Unlimited coffee - well don’t expect to drink more than one cup because you will never be offered another one. Because there were three other tables with ours and three waitresses stood by the bar drinking coffee talking and laughing, now that in itself is absolutely not a problem. However, asking for another cup is impossible unless you shout across the restaurant or walk to them to ask. Finished eating waited for the bill to pay - but again no attention was paid to any of the tables (anything else you want, another coffee perhaps - nothing not even a glance towards any of the tables) so me and another table stood up to go and pay at the bar till ourselves, because it is Sunday and I guess it is a self serve time.

It's a good harvester main meals are served very quickly to stop you eating too much free salad. The chicken was tough and dry unfortunately. Lovely staff, very clean and excellent disabled access.

Staff were lovely ,wasnt half as busy as the malpas harvester wear staff were very busy and rude,the food was lovely ,so was the salad bar I had chicken stack n the Mac n cheese side is amazing

Had a really friendly and courteous server and food was fresh and juicy and thoroughly enjoyed by all the party. Didn't feel rushed.

I was really disappointed with the quality of the food. I had the mixed grill of which I only enjoyed the onion rings egg and mushrooms. The chicken was dry and the steak was tough. My wife had rotisserie chicken which again was really dry. I have never known rotisserie chicken to be dry which makes me think that it wasn't cooked on a rotisserie.

The staff here are lovely, we usually see Lewis there who is always warm & welcoming. Makes a big effort to talk to our son who is quite shy, and remembers us each time we go. Food is good, exactly what you expect from a Harvester. Perfect family friendly place at a good price.

Took the grandkids in for lunch on Saturday Food was great , kids love the selection and Lewis was absolutely fantastic with the kids Top marks guys

Great location friendly staff. Salad can be a bit slow to be changed when the bowls run low even after asking staff and food can seem a bit rushed if is full or really busy as in my partners battered halloumi was perfect with crunchy batter when the store was empty but soggy when full. This has happened on more than one occasion.

The food is nothing good anymore. This time they served plain flatbread, instead of the garlic one, with the pasta I ordered. Defo would not visit again, I am better off exploring the other nearby places.

Lewis was fantastic in looking after us as a large group when they were very busy.

Shocking service, past few times we've turned up it's been OK but this visit was rubbish resulting in us turning around and leaving. Tables covered in used plates and staff ignoring you when you turn up and ignored a rather large queue out the front door

The food is poor wasn’t hot very small chicken Salad bar poor coleslaw wasn’t fresh And the rolls stale prices too high for the portions you receive

We have just had breakfast with Santa and the team have been fantastic. We were let down by another establishment and they fit us in and made Christmas really special for the kids. The staff have been really friendly and the service has been excellent.

ordered my meal at 6, restaurant prepared and ready by 6.30 nothing wrong there end just eat turned up to collect 2hours later. food was thrown in bin as all ruined and cost me over 35 pound just eats fault

Very nice and friendly stuff. Atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. Tidy,good, comfortable size tables and chairs to family. Food was excellent cooked. My favourite salmon was always cooked perfectly. Today try something different and ordered bug plate with meat who was cooked perfectly and so juicy. Always eat there and don't want change the place. Definitely recommend and will soon come with all my small family. Thanks to stuff being always nice with smile.

Lovely atmosphere, good food, great friendly service from Lewis.

The staff friendly as normal. Went here today to have lunch. Lewis served us and was as friendly as always. The food is cooked perfectly every time no matter what I eat. We come here from just across the other side of the severn bridge even though we have willowbrook (Bradley Stoke) Harvester closer, as it is a nicer experience than it is there. I would siggest if other Harvesters are struggling to come to Spytty and shadow the staff there as they seem to be able to work well and make sure everyone has a good experience

We had a really good lunchtime meal here yesterday . This was our first visit, but it won't be the last. Food was perfect and the service was excellent. We were given a warm welcome on arrival, then served by Lewis, he was friendly and patient and made us feel at home as newbies. We will definitely return here and highly recommend this Harvester.

food is ok. ordered ultimate breakfast with beef and veggie breakfast with orange juice. only thing I could say is not to put those plastic butter portions amongst the food.

Dined recently with family. Seemed to have improved greatly since our last visit. Quality of food was excellent; salad bar well-stocked; and, I feel as important, was the reception and service we received. Our server, JACOB, was patience personified. He was attentive, polite and very personable, but professional, too. This young man could go far in hospitality.

Careless, disrespectful and surly employees. The second time I ordered burger without ham they came with ham inside and I went home and came back as I was having it take away, even though it was their own fault, they acted as if I was doing something wrong. Forget all that, the burger they brought the second time is as you can see in the photo!This is the burger they charged 17 pounds for! second time I've experienced the same thing. their attitude when you want to ask or question the smallest thing is incredibly rude. I never recommend this place. Except the youngest man in there, they all extremely rude, don’t care about customer satisfaction at all.

Menu looks great for vegans, but options weren't available due to time or being out of stock. Pretty disappointed.

The most amazing food, in a warm setting with attentive lovely staff and budget friendly! What an enjoyable evening at harvester in Spytty! Our waitress Lesley was a true gem - so friendly and welcoming she was on the ball with drinks and helped us go through some of the great new options in the new menu to go out of her way to create my perfect meal! Nothing was too much trouble and all done with a smile! The food was delicious - the hot honey sauce I would recommend to anyone a real taste treat!!! Everything was cooked to perfection - the chicken crispy and tasty, the chips perfect and all piping hot!! It didn’t even take long to arrive and we got to enjoy a fully stacked salad bar first with soft rolls and butter - honestly cannot fault this place! Relaxed, cosy and cannot wait to return soon - would recommend to everyone - a truly deserving 5/5 from me!

New menu is impressive, can’t wait to go back to try more! Our waitress Lesley was very helpful in recommending new foods and made our dining experience truly memorable with her attentiveness and friendly demeanour.
