Harvester - Spytty in Newport

Not delivered to.my address. No idea who has my foor

I thought the service was dreadful, I now need to get my car seat cleaned because the harvester didn't properly close the containers ,I also didn't get any bread rolls as advertised

Staff are always friendly and on hand however, tonight's visit was disappointing. 3 course set menu meal for £19.49 for two plus two children's meals came to nearly £70. When did Harvester become so expensive and bland. The Chicken Goujons where hot but plane served in a bowl. The BBQ Chicken Stack was a single flattened butterfly breast with one slice of bacon drizzled with 3 lines of sauce. There was no flavour to the coleslaw what so ever but it's saving grace was the salad bowl but be warned, although unlimited, be careful that they don't take your bowl away if your not looking so you can't get more without asking for another.

Visited Harvest yesterday with the family and the meal was lovely. Service was good and staff friendly and helpful.

Called in here whilst shopping in Newport, was greeted by Lewis who showed us to our table and then took our order, also serving us when it was ready. He was very professional and obviously cared about his customers in a caring not robotic manner. My wife had the scampi and I had the gammon, both were cooked to perfection with tomato soup to start and treacle sponge to finish. I hope you are proud as a company to have staff like him working for you.

Food was great and our waitress LESLEY was very polite and professional. Would highly recommend this restaurant and will be back very soon

Food absolutely spot on, friendly staff

We were half way through our starter and they brought our mains out , so left our starters . When we complained the woman was quite rude and said this is the way harvester do it . It has never happened before and will never go back now

The food took a long time to come out though it was good food. The only thing I'd say is the waitress didn't tell me how hot my plate was when I moved it

Came with the family at around 1pm on the 27 July. We turned up with our kids who were warm and grumpy and in serious need for food. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff very understanding and easy going. The salad cart was constantly being looked after the food was fantastic. The whole experience turned the kids moods around and we even decided to stay for desserts. We had an absolutey fantastic time and probably the best visit to any harvester. I can see there is some great management going on here and kudos to the Waiter and the other staff on shift that day. A wonderful visit all round!! (I was given their names but unfortunately lost the card I was given).

Very clean , excellent service and really nice food

Had a flipping lovely meal today at the Spytty retail Harvester! All the salad buffet options were filled up and extra fresh! Our mains were cooked lovely and were nice and warm. The staff (Tyler?) was very polite and professional! The restaurant was very clean. I felt compelled to write this - thanks very much - we had a great Sunday afternoon date and both agreed that this was probably the best Harvester we've ever been in!

Fabulous visit and waiter was excellent he couldn't do enough, lovely gentleman was working on the 27th but wasn't thete yesterday on the 3rd, but again a lovely waiter served us yesterday, 2 visits, both equally fantastic. Lovely foid and reasonable priced Will definitely visit again

Had food waiting for staff to remove our plates waited and waited looking forward to desert girls talking decided to pay and leave popped to McDonald's got desert went home.

Great evening at the Harvester this week, food was tasty and the portions were a good size. Always a fan of the salad bar, and thank you to Lewis for his great service!

Service was very quick and waiters friendly. But unlike other harvesters in Newport this one appears to be doing things a bit different... Ribs with no meat and under sized steaks! Corn on cob straight out the bag, no need to grill! Having eaten at Harvester Borderer regularly there is clearly a drop in standards here. There was a number of other customers complaining on our visit.

Lovely food, and Lewis the server was excellent and a credit to the team!!

Our experience with Kat was exceptional. She demonstrated remarkable friendliness and professionalism, truly asset of this branch. The quality of the breakfast and brunch was outstanding.

Lovely meal this evening. The staff were working really hard, yet it was lovely and peaceful. Food was fresh, hot and exactly as ordered. Not too long on the wait, yet very busy. Polite staff and very welcoming.

Popped in for breakfast this morning. Kat served us with enthusiasm and a genuine smile. Food was hot and tasty we ordered the classic breakfast and for the price it is huge! Highly recommended. Thank you Kat for making our visit easy and comfortable, it was a pleasure to be served by you.

Refill drinks machine broken Salad bar empty only 1 side had salad and what was left was sparse or empty. No coleslaw no pasta no cucumber no pineapple. Saad dressings were empty No butter Had to ask for butter and thousand island

First time visiting Spytty Harvester and to say we were disappointed by the customer service is an understatement, especially because we throughly enjoy visiting this franchise restaurant in other locations. As we approached we were greeted with very poor customer service from one certain individual staff member, also the service was slow while it was quiet inside. The drinks machine was unfortunately broken which of course is no ones fault at then end of our meal we were told after having our food that we have to go to the bar to get our own rudely. The waitress’ approach to our visit was very unpleasant and made us feel unwelcome. We will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone we know.

Lesley is always helpful and friendly. Food and atmosphere always a treat for us. Thank you!

We just popped in for a couple of drinks while in the area and we're so impressed by our server Lesley. She is amazing and would go back just cause she made you feel so welcome 🤗

Great food, friendly staff and not too noisy like some other places.

Firstly I love Harvester Restaurants but what a mistake I made visiting this one. Should definitely gone to The Boarderer Malpas. Service is shockingly chav and no eye contact. No mustard. Choice of 4 desserts and the guess what No Rocky Horror (so 3) tables dirty, floor dirty. Booked a table but on arrival we can't sit in the window, empty hour we visited. Absolutely the worst I have ever visited.

Friendly staff. Very good amount and quality of servings.

Love this Harvester. Never use any other. Food is always of ahigh standard. My rump steak cooked to perfection. Staff always friendly warm and welcoming. And Lewis should be manager. He does not stop and always has time for everyone. Tyler very busy. In fact all staff busy and always checking that everything is to your standard and satisfaction. Kat always has a smile and very busy too. The atmosphere very family orientated. Highly recommend. My mothers favourite resteraunt and will not go anywhere else.

The food’s lovely, and staff are all friendly and helpful, but Lewis was especially good and made the whole dining experience more fun and enjoyable.

Had great food and service, all at reasonable price. We had the fathers day special. Would definitely recommend.

The food is always good. However, despite being less than half full during our stay, service was very slow. The restaurant appeared very short staffed, and trying to get staff's attention to have tables cleared, order dessert, and get the bill took a very long time. Several empty tables were left uncleared for a long time also. Staff were very polite and helpful, once they arrived. Also, although it was only mid afternoon, several menu items were out of stock.

Got seated by a lovely manager. After ten minutes the manager returned asking us if Tyler had been to see us we replied no. So he took our order. The manager was amazing and our starters came very quickly. They were hot and very tasty. Then our mains had come out and we still hadn’t had our starter plates cleared. The area we were in was clearly Tyler’s as he was approaching other tables taking orders etc… but kept walking past us. Our mains were finished and we decided to have dessert. 25 minutes later still waiting to have our plates cleared and to be offered dessert. While Tyler had been to the tables next to us and taken 2 orders. In the end we got so fed up we went up to the bar to pay. We mentioned this to a young lady who apologised. We paid and left with no dessert very unhappy.

Food was decent as expected of harvester, service could have been better. It was super quiet however the staff spent a lot time just chatting at the bar and we had to wait for a bit to get their attention.

First impressions is a nice place, and this continues with pleasant staff. On my visit, there were lots of young children, not that well-behaved, I may add, which detracted from the calmness I was seeking. That aside the food was nice, but the presentation could of had some attention. The burger, when put together, had more sauce on the plate rather than on the burger itself. The chips were overcooked but edible. My apple pier was just a soggy pastry devoid of apples, at least the custard was nice. A chain like Harvester should have better quality control in place. Overall a tasty but visually disapointing visit.

Typical Harvester, no more no less

I have the roast chicken and ribs with sides. The chicken was dry and chewy. The ribs were ok but tasted like supermarket box ribs Food came relatively quickly. The salad bar was well picked over with other bit of food mixed in. Same serving spoon used for different items. Really quite a mess. Bread rolls baskets were empty and not being refilled. I feel like the big restaurant chains don’t try for maximum quality like the smaller pub restaurants.

One of the nicest harvester we have been in. Great service, amazing food and very clean. Good work by all who worked this afternoon. I think Lewis was our server, he was extremely good.

When we visited ( a Bank Holiday Monday evening) my wife's choice was not available. The alternative offered turned out not to be available either. Then the third choice was available, but the standard baked potato accompaniment was not, so chips were offered and accepted. Then the meal was delivered with rice, not chips! To be fair, when my wife expressed her dissatisfaction, we were not charged for her meal or our drinks - but it was an unfortunate introduction to that particular restaurant.

Salad bar is good. Didn't have many menu items. They told me I'd have to have one thing then brought something else randomly. At least they gave me a refund after I asked for it. Poor experience.

Came to Newport after randomly driving out from home and was greeted by some amazing staff. The ordering was fast, food came out faster and the quality was high. Ordered the limited edition Raspberry Chipotle Rotisserie Chicken.Your server Lewis deserves a payrise for his ability to work efficiently and with a smile on his face.

We popped in for a spot of lunch the service was 10 out of 10 from the moment we walked in through the door , all the staff are really pleasant and helpful …. Out of the Harvesters we have been to I rate this one of the best . Salad bar fully stocked and food was fresh and perfect will definitely be returning soon .

From experience, always book. If you book, then this place is great for a pre - or post cinema meal with family and friends. The staff are great and the food is high quality. If you don't book... then.. well, you may get turned away more likely than not. Even when it appears empty because this place has a wave coming after a cinema viewing or just before. Be warned!

Went to this restaurant for son's birthday. Found it to be clean and well presented. Our server Lewis could not have been more helpful. Would happily go again.

The staff were very helpful in the harvester the meal was lovely and hot and very tasty and it was good value for the money Lewis served us and he was very helpful couldn't help us enough he was very good at his job.

Staff friendly but the food and service was appalling. It took three attempts for the kitchen staff to get one person's main course correct. Even then it was brought to the table cold and under cooked. It was returned uneaten as the other three people in my party had finished eating their meals, such was the delay. One other meal (scampi) was overcooked too. A chicken burger meal was poorly presented and sloppy in appearance due to too much sauce being applied. Extremely disappointed as we were visiting to celebrate a birthday and the experience was spoilt.

Such a shame as a long term favourite with family members over numerous years harvester have put profits before customers 😡while still increasing prices & lowering food quality 😡 our family & friends will not be returning

My chichen quarter was only half a quarter, my sweetcorn was discussing it was like it had been soaking in water for the last month, the salad bar was very poorly maintained.

We came for lunch on a busy bank holiday and they were understaffed but regardless the service couldn’t have been better, Holly really took care of us.

Friendly staff, a little confused by what combo you and could put together but it had been a long week. Good good good service, reasonable prices.

Fast polite service. Food was great. Arrived for noon and not to busy, which is great when taking eight out for lunch.

Had breakfast today. My god it was amazing. Everything cooked perfectly, also I had 4oz rump on the ultimate as I was nursing a hangover, and that was cooked (medium rare) perfectly too. The whole breakfast was enormous but delicious. The service is always great at our Harvester, and we always get what we order with no mistakes. I have been to other harvesters where they don't quite get it right but this one is awesome. Highly recommend Breakfast, brunch or dinner and cocktails. It's all good. Unlimited refills for soft drinks is a fantastic option if you're dehydrated 🤣

Have been a few times recently, each time served by the lovely Lesley, who is friendly, attentive and bubby, and it's been excellent. Cannot fault the food whatsoever, possibly the best burger in Newport. The chicken stack as well is delicious. Will keep coming back, and highly recommend!

Went tonight for my mother-in-law's birthday. The staff were absolutely brilliant. So friendly and down to earth . Food was Really good quality will definitely be going again . Food was ok, not much options for people with dietary conditions, salad bar is the same as it was many moons ago, not much changes they are all the same. Food was ok for what it was but wasn't all that Service on the other hand was amazing, the woman who served us was polite, professional and courteous, I would return just for the customer service as it was 5 star

My partner and I decided to go for lunch! On booking via the app no issues at all on arrival at the restaurant we were greeted by a member of staff and he was lovely to which he asked if we would like a booth or a table, he then lead us to sit down and stated that a member of staff would be with us shortly. On sitting down we immediately noted that it was freezing due to sitting directly under the a/c. When the staff member approached us we asked if we could be moved to another table to which we stated why to the staff member to which we went onto say “the air con is on throughout the building so I can’t see it being any more warmer else where in the building than it is here” he attitude toward us stank and she needs to learn good customer service, it wouldn’t of bothered us if it was boiling hot outside but with it only just getting warmer now this was not acceptable to be spoken to like that. The food was lovely and we highly recommend the burgers they have so much more taste than when we have been there before. During our whole visit staff were seen to be talking and constantly looking over to us especially the ones that had originally served us.

Harvester, it's enable nothing special

Order was missing most of the "bundle". Not for order was not read... Not hard - No tomato in the burgers... No Drinks and No Ben and Jerrys delivered either...

I really enjoyed our time at harvester we had a lovely waitress her name was kat she was friendly from the start we had 4 children with us she was so friendly and energetic with them. Would definitely come back and would request for kat to be our server.

We just called here to have a quick meal after an appointment at Leeway and to save cooking when we got home. We didn't really expect much from a Harvester but the food was fab, the service was exceptional and the atmosphere was lovely. We were pleasantly surprised and ended up staying much longer than we intended and eating far more than we anticipated. Will definitely be back here at some point.
