We ended up here after failing to get a table elsewhere.....and what a blessing in disguise! We were welcomed by lovely ambience, tasteful décor and extremely pleasant staff. Wasn't long before we were at the table and perusing the menu. The beef & mushroom pie really was excellent. Lovely big mushrooms, thick gravy (and a jug on the side - more than enough) and the beef was incredibly tender. I was full as an egg afterwards (probably helped with the garlic bread and cheese - a must on the side). No pudding was necessary on this occasion. Our server was extremely friendly and came back to check everything was OK (it certainly was). They had a special soup on for the day and also a special desert - Could see other customers satisfied with choosing those options, so worth reaching out to the specials to see what's on. Highly recommended. Thank you!

Really enjoyed this place. Nice atmosphere and lovely food. It's not your usual chain-pub, the food is a little bit different and really good. I did enjoy the local beef used in the burgers. Instead of being heavily seasoned as usual they had a flavour but it wasn't one that was drowned out in spice, it was delicious nevertheless. Really good food and not run-of-the-mill. I'd definitely go here again. More expensive than the usual chain-pubs but not much and worth it.

Portions were so generous and the gravy was lovely and thick. Service was also great. Would definitely recommend, never had a bad meal here. Wasnt good, but wasn't awful, certainly not a good memorable experience in any way, one that made me say im done spending my money there, nice refurb but thats it, quality of this place has plummeted drastically! Waited ages at the bar to even be acknowledged by either of the staff and it wasnt busy, one of the girls arrived first and again waiting ages to even be spoke to or shown her table and not asked if she would like a drink. For the price of the food, it needs improving ALOT, 2 fish mains were bland, pheasant was tough, gnocchi was alright but how do you mess that up. Sharing camenbert starter for 4.... 18 quid! Came with 4 small pieces of sourdough .... the cheese was well, ruined and so over done. There was no pause, between ordering food and meals, the next course was flown out asap. We ordered wine for our meal from different waitree, the red came after asking for it 2 more times, half way through the main..... Young waitress was polite and these things were not her doing Needs attention in alot of areas to get to how it used to be.

I may be a bit late to the party but the refurb is fantastic. I realise it’s the silly season of Xmas with lots of work parties so it’s busy but at those prices the food was average. Both the pheasant main and the pudding treacle tart can be described as ‘tough’ as if they’d been hanging around a while ready to get warmed up in the microwave for speed as it was so busy, disappointing.

I was very disappointed with my most recent visit to the Queens Head. The quality of the food and the behaviour of the manager were both terrible. Two of our meals were abysmal in taste and texture. To top it all off, the Mussels were off! The manager seemed very angry that we complained about the food and asked if it was “just because we didn’t like it” which wouldn’t warrant remaking the dish/ ordering something else.

Our first evening meal in Llandudno and as its the sea side thought it should be fish n chips. Found this one after a Google search and as it offered searing thought it would be good. Welcoming staff sat us down at a table and we ordered. No option to have a regular cod so had to have the large one and my wife ordered fishcakes. The order arrived promptly as did the drinks. Both meals arrived with a side salad which did seem a bit unusual. The fish was nice enough but quite greasy as were the chips which am sad to say were quite bland. Curry sauce ok. The fish cakes on my wife's plate looked like they'd been cooked three times, tasted better than the looked and were overly seasoned. This was an average meal at well above average prices. £16:95 for my cod, chips. Curry sauce £1:95 extra £14:95 for fishcake chips - peas £1:95 extra. Two teas on top and the bill at the end was touching £42:00. Worth it? No - sorry but wouldn't be a place we would come back to.
