The room we had was really beautiful and the bed and pillows outstanding. We were on a bed and breakfast basis as the hotel has recently been taken over and had a makeover. All customer areas were spotlessly clean and the bar served very reasonable priced drinks which was good. The breakfast, which is served buffet style was the best. It was a feast for everyone eat as much as you like. If there is one thing that I would like to mention and that really sets this hotel apart from most is the friendly staff especially Karen a waitress in the restaurant she was so lovely kind and helped tremendously well done

We like to go to a carvery for Sunday lunch and usually go to the same place. However, we decided to try somewhere different. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere is very pleasant, the service is good and everyone seems to smile. The food was excellent, with a good choice of vegetables. There was a choice of 4 meats, all crisp and well cooked, but not dry. The roast potatoes were just right. Large potions. The only criticism was that the Yorkshire puddings were too soft. For dessert we had fruit crumble. It was very fruity and delicious. Good quantity and the fruit was hand picked by one of the staff from their garden. Great value for money...£10.95 for 1 course and 13.95 for 2 courses.

We went to have a meal in this hotel. There was four adults and a 6 month old baby. We walked through the door and I presume the manager, a woman, popped her head around the reception and shouted "we don't allow Prams!" Very rude. We were puzzled as the place looked empty and there is nothing on their website about no children or Prams? We got the impression our face didn't fit! So we went to Home Cookin across the road and give them our £100 instead!!! The food there is excellent.

We had an evening meal at the Rose Tor last week. We were greeted by an exceptionally pleasant young lady who asked if we would be dining and helped us to locate a table. Her attentive service throughout was the highlight of our visit. Once sat down it became apparent that the seating was far from comfortable with a ledge just below shoulder height which made sitting back impossible. The overall impression of the decor was that one could have come here 40 years earlier and seen much the same surroundings but less worn ! The ceiling had been patched up and needed a repaint, nevertheless music and a nearby tv were not intrusive as in some places. My friend had roast turkey and I had roast beef. The beef was excellent but that was as far as it goes, the vegetables were average and sprouts a bit hard, roast potatoes had clearly been waiting around and had gone hard and they need someone who can mash potato ! The meals were served on rafia type place mats which if at home I would have thrown out, indeed mine was falling to pieces. So all in all, a little more attention to detail and a makeover wouldn't go amiss. Thank goodness for the waitress.

Visited this hotel on Sunday for a carvery which was lovely! Could not fault the food. There are 4 meats to choose from and a wide variety of veg. The only improvement I could suggest is being able to choose your own veg as you are limited when being served by someone else. I didn't like a lot of the veg (fussy eater) so would have preferred more of the veg I did like but had no choice as it was served to me. The dining room is slightly outdated but the staff are very attentive and friendly.

A nice choice of excellent deserts finished the meal off no idea how they do it for the money

Were shopping in Llandudno when we decided to have lunch there having heard good reports. We were not disappointed, two courses for £12.95 so we opted for main meal & sweet. The chef/owner was carving the choice of 5 meats. We both opted for the lamb which he served but insisted on giving us extra slices. The veg was freshly cooked and the whole meal was delicious with the meat melting in the mouth. The sweet was also delicious and again a huge portion. We spoke to a local couple who go there every Sunday for the carvery. Will be going again.

I am no stranger to this place as I accompany my discerning Canadian friends here often during their biennial visit to the UK. First of all, unless you are really starving, I suggest that on your first visit you decide on two courses only as the carvery itself entices you to overload and the starter and sweet portions are overgenerous. Today we opted for the carvery and a sweet as our favorite home made soup is only served during the Winter months. The owner/chef serves you with a choice of four meats and he is ridiculously generous with his perfectly cooked fare. The veg section is also supervised with a choice of faultlessly cooked and eye catching display - 6 veg, roast and boiled, Yorks pud etc. Most return visitors wise up and tell the chef when to stop serving the meat.So how much is the best carvery in terms of quantity and quality, not to mention the efficient serving staff - for our carvery and sweet it was £12.95. You could have had a choice of starters for under £5.Booking is adviseable.

Staff are lovely and the place itself is clean and tidy and comfortable. The food is lovely although for one course I think £15 is quite highly priced especially as I was told on the phone they would charge less just for the one course but to be told when paying they don't do that I think it probably lack of communication somewhere but never mind we enjoyed it never the less.

Thanks to Dave and Heather for a very pleasant buffet lunch on New Year's Day. All the staff looked after us in a friendly and efficient manner. We went for the prawn starter. A good choice. Then it was to the buffet. Dave was carving the meat as usual - his portions are generous. Then a waitress added the vegetables - a nice selection. Afterwards I had cheese and biscuits and my wife had lemon tart. To drink we had a bottle of red as recommended by Heather - a good choice and quite reasonable. So if you are in Llandudno we certainly recommend Rose Tor - good food, reasonable price and you won'y go hungry.

We turned up Sunday lunchtime without booking and were given a very freindly welcome! Unfortunatly the restaurant was full so we were given a table in the bar area, which was perfect for us with having three children with us, plenty of space for them and crayons and drawing paper was supplied which kept them entertained. The freindly waiting on staff took our orders and the starters arrived promptly, once we had finished and our table cleared we were told to make our way to the carvery when we were ready...and what a selection!! Turkey, pork, beef and lamb all cooked perfectly along with all the vegetables you could need aswell as roast potatos and Yorkshire puddings!A great meal, excellent service and relaxing atmosphere.I will definately recommend and will be returning soon!Thankyou to all the staff for a great visit.

I'm glad we did, we had the welsh lamb with fresh veg boiled potatoes and roast and after a choose of sweets all for £11 .The restaurant was nice and cosy and the lady who served us was very attentive and the chef even came to see if we were happy with the food. The hotel is at the top end of mostyn street going towards the great orme.So if you want a quality meal try it.I felt sorry for them when we visited because the night after they had road works outside. The waitress told us they would be closed and they had a lot of cancelations at the hotel because the roadworks were through the night and the noise was really bad

Be careful if you order the salmon meal here,we got served undercooked salmon where it was only just cooked on one side of the salmon and raw in the middle and raw on other side but worse of all the owners there said it was suppose to be like that! Well my opinion is that it wasn't, salmon has to be cooked throughout all the same and after a few words between us all and raised voices as I could've had food poisoning got thrown out of the pub where we were shouted at to leave, being humiliated when in the first place we hadn't done anything wrong! Not only this but we ordered 2 courses for supposedly £10.95 and so we ordered a starter and a main but when getting the bill we were charged separately and when we disputed this the owner said it just meant the main and a sweet was £10.95 well it doesn't say this on the menu and they said they told us that when we ordered but we didn't hear anything about it so disputed this too. I'm not totally unreasonable I do understand mistakes can be made but if a mistake is made remorse should be shown which gives a grasp that it probably wont happen again to others but no remorse was shown so to me I feel that they could be careless to serve undercooked fish again to others and possibly other things.I certainly wont visit here again!

We ate both mornings the full english and we couldnt fault the service, choice and quality. The only thing we can fault is when we first arrived our room was soo hot and we couldnt turn our rad down but my partner went down to ask if they could turn heating off and 2 minutes later a bloke came up with a spanner and turned our rad off. The hotel is dated but got lovely character and is spotless. Had a lovely weekend. Thanks to the Rose tor hotel.

Went here in December for one of the “party” nights, the first thing to hit you when you walk in is the stale smell of cooking oil ,they really should get extractor fans that work ,no one wants to go home from an evening out with this smell all over their clothing including coats or to have to sit in the bar area where that is all you can smell ! Also I really think for a hotel/restaurant this size they should have more than one loo for non-resident females .The food was ok for the price apart from a colleague who asked for bread sauce to go with her turkey only to be told “ bread sauce is served with chicken not turkey !” Also do not ask for tomato juice.. according to the bar man there is no call for it ???As others have said it is a tired and dated hotel and could do with a good spruce up .

We went to the carvery on Sunday, and although the restaurant was full they managed to fit us in.We opted for two courses, carvery and sweet, you can only have a minimum of two courses, you can't have the carvery on its own. Have read other comments where they say they couldn't help themselves to the vegetables, but we did when we were there, they only serve your veg when there is a queue waiting to get served. We had ample meat, probably too much, it was all cooked superbly, there was a large choice of vegetables that really did taste 'home cooked', For the sweet I opted for apple pie and custard, again it was home made and tasted delicious. The owners are very friendly, the food fantastic, but would recommend that you book as it does get very busy.
