The food was excellent as per usual. Food cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious and our server, Jacob, was absolutely superb. Would definitely recommend!

Visited Harvester Pontypool to meet a friend. Booked ahead. Good reception and shown to table immediately. Had a great server Cerys, who was cheerful, helpful and courteous. Great food, even tried a special starter not on the main menu. Good was excellent and my steak cooked to perfection. Great atmosphere and all the staff were friendly. Amy also gave us some great advice and was helpful.

Fantastic service, really felt that staff went out of there way to make sure we have everything we needed, will be back very shortly.

2nd visit within a few months and left disappointed in that we didn't get value for money on this occasion. If one of your party receives there food 1st and immediately says "is that all there is" it doesn't bode well for what the rest of us are going to receive and all bar one were of the same feeling. We would have expected the BBQ stack and Original combo not to leave us still hungry after receiving. Stack was far from it and combo fell well short...1/4 rotisserie chicken I'd have thought would be something equivalent to at least the size of a hole breast, it was just a wing with a bit of breast that was just a bit more than a mouthful and the rack of ribs was 4 pieces with very little meat on and then 3 portions of corn bread that resembled say oversized croutons. Didn't want to order a desert due to the inflated prices but as I was still hungry I thought a fudge brownie may fill the gap. It did the job. Couldn't fault the staff as they were very helpful and attentive. Just disappointed in the portion sizes and unlikely to visit again or may just order the Barbacoa burger as that seemed to go down well with my partner.

Food was cold and over cooked and was missing item the pot of sauce was all over the place very poor

Came here with my girlfriend and got sat down to be greeted by Morgan with a big smile! Morgan was very positive and polite and made sure we were happy with everything. Was very good with my allergy 😊

Despite having a table reservation, I had to wait an hour. I then left the restaurant without eating anything.

Order rib eye steak medium rear. Steak was raw chicken wings in barbecue sauce over cooked. Send steak back they tried to recook but came tough and unable to eat. 21 day matured rib eye 23.49 get better from Aldi and cook myself

Disappointed Christmas day meal. Booked the Harvester as usually the food is lovely and the atmosphere is fab. However, Christmas Day took a dive. Service itself was slow (which we were understanding of giving the day and limited staffing) Our server was polite and friendly. The atmosphere was very flat in the area we were sat. Starters took a while to arrive, I had the winter soup which was very bland, my partner had the camembert bites which were basic and my son had the chicken bites which he enjoyed. Mains the adults and children turkey. Again took a while to arrive, the food was barely warm, vegetables were very undercooked (I prefer crunchy vegetables but they were so hard I struggled to cut them) and the gravy had little to no taste. My partner had the very disappointing plate of the beef feather-blade, it came in a bowl with mash, peas and a few hard vegetables. Desserts however were very nice. Overall a disappointing meal.

Our first time going out for Christmas lunch and the Harvester was amazing. The food was delicious and Tom our server was amazing.

🎄CHRISTMAS DAY🎄 We had the most wonderful host on Christmas day..........so friendly and helpful! ❤️ The 3 course menu was lovely too and enjoyed by all 5 of our party (aged 13 to 70 something 🤣). We always travel the 45 minute journey to Harevester Pontypool (despite there being a few other Harvesters much nearer) as the staff, food and fresh salad bar are far superior to any other we've been to! The only downside on Christmas day, was that my lovely veggie roast had no gravy with it as they only had chicken gravy!! No veggie gravy anywhere! 😥 If I'd have lived nearer, I'd have nipped home and made my own flask of Bisto! Despite the disappointment of me having to eat a dry roast dinner, the rest of the food was enjoyed by all! Thanks guys x

Pleasant enough for a beer but always find that vegetarian food options are minimal compared to other Harvester restaurants being honest.

Lovely food, tasted delicious. Our service was amazing, couldn't have been better. The atmosphere was quiet but very warm and happy. This made me and my autistic child's christmas amazing after the unexpected passing of his father. the first christmas without him 😭🥹

Not very clean food was cold my partner ordered a takeaway last night considering what happened last time and to her surprise everything was cold. NEVER AGAIN

Inedible, chicken burnt, chips abysmal, soggy beyond belief. Would not recommend and would definitely not order again.

Disappointed rotisserie chickens weren't ready, but Tom our waiter provided great service. Friendly and efficient. Lower score on atmosphere wasn't down to staff but customers on adjacent table using the restaurant as office space for the duration of our meal (with just a pot of tea) made the atmosphere a tad off for a lunch service at Christmas. Would have been more acceptable during off peak or breakfast service. On the whole though a lovely lunch.

Always have food at the harvester when we visit pontypool, and again never let us down, amazing, tasty, hot, and great atmosphere,the service was outstanding from Lily she was so helpful and had good knowledge of the menu and cocktails (which were amazing). Great personality, very professional, She is a credit to the restaurant, hope to see her again soon.

Had a lovely meal here today with my partner, our server Amy welcomed us in with a warm smile and couldn't do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble and she really went above and beyond to ensure we were happy! Really enjoy my experience at Pontypool harvester . The food was amazing and the service was excellent we were served by a staff member called Tom , who was very warm and welcoming and went above and beyond with his service .

Upon arrival we were kept waiting for around 10 minutes before being attended to. After placing our order the starter finally arrived afer about 35 or so minutes. an hour and a half after our arrival there was still no sign of our main course despite having enquired as to any progress. At that point we could no longer continue waiting as we were attending an event that evening. We had no choice but to leave.

Tom was very helpful and friendly. The food was good.

Our first visit to Harvester Pontypool this weekend and we were really impressed. Good food, excellent service from our server Tom, and we'll definitely be back again :)

Visited last weekend and will be back again soon. I absolutely loved the battered halloumi - not too greasy like loads of other places. Service was prompt and Tom was especially welcoming, he cracked us up with his jokes!

We went for my son's 18th birthday and we had a fabulous evening. The staff were amazing, considering they were short-staffed staffed you couldn't tell. We were well-informed of everything going on. The service was fantastic. The manager and the waitress were superb. We gave her a tip which was well deserved. The food was freshly cooked. I think the lady's name was Jess. Will definitely be back.

Our server Tom @ pontypool harvester at lunch time on the 29th nov was absolutely amazing. He was so attentive polite helpful with the menus especially helpful with the Christmas dinner as they had just run out of turkey but he spoke to kitchen and they did their magic. We then after we finished our delicious Xmas meal we had a good chat about the hospitality industry and covid. We met Tom for the first time today and he truly made our Xmas meal with the Xmas Songs playing that extra special quality service towards my husband and I made it all magical THANK YOU SO MUCH
