Harvester Pontypool in Torfaen

Having food allergies, it's hard to go out and find restaurants that will do their utmost best to make sure you have a good meal without worry. The chefs cooked my food separately, and offered alternatives to sides I couldn't have. And a vegan dessert gave the night a fab ending. The serving lady was faultless, can't remember her name! She double and triple checked my food wasn't cross contaminated. Totally recommend for their friendliness and fantastic customer service. A credit to the company.

Brilliant evening with my family, due to food allergies, my order was cooked separately and I was given alternatives. Even managed a vegan dessert. Staff were very attentive and explained in detail when asked about food items. Absolutely recommend to those who have difficulty finding restaurants that can accommodate food allergies etc.

We ate here as we were staying in the adjacent Premier Inn and had no car. Pleasantly surprised at the quality of food for the price we paid.

Lovely evening, we were greeted by Kyla who provided amazing service and welcomed us as soon as we walked in. Kyla was chatty and efficient. Thanks very much ☺️

We had server Tim who was absolutely wonderful. Immensely courteous, wonderfully kind and very good with our two-year-old. He was a credit to the Harvester staff! The food was prompt, delicious and warm, and as always it was a fantastic time well spent in good company. Thank you, Tim and staff!

Enjoyed a lunch out this afternoon, was served by amy, courtney and leanne. Nothing was too much trouble, and amy was fantastic ith my children.

The salad is always the winner, winner, chicken dinner!! Love the menu and always great food and service with friendly staff.

7.30pm and no rotisserie chicken left? guess the food their really is cooked elsewhere and just reheated in site. Big disappointment. Plus by 9.15 pm both the refill soft drinks machines were switched off, closing times 10pm.......will​ be writing to head office to investigate why this branch are cutting corners.

Had a lush Easter breakfast with the children this morning and was waited on by Tim, Tom and Amy. They couldn’t do enough for us, food was 10/10 and the kids loved meeting Harvey the Easter bunny, thanks guys :)

Staff very helpful without being overbearing . Clean , organised restaurant, nothing to much trouble . Food was perfect , cooked and piping hot..huge portions and lovely taste ...not rushed even though it was incredibly busy ..highly recommend

Went in here and sat in the bar as it was really busy, which wasn’t a problem. Ordered the flatbread and upgraded to large loaded fries. There was a 45 minute wait to get the food and the portion certainly wasn’t large. The portion was small and overall the prices are expensive. Note it is £4.25 for a refillable coke so make sure you’re thirsty enough to get value for money!

Great visit to Pontypool harvester today. Stacey helped me get the app so I could use the discount code and our server Amy was just brilliant. 10/10

Amy and Leen were fab with our breakfast order. Really friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious and the tea was on point.

The waitresses Leen and Amy were exceptional with their customer service. Very welcoming and given plenty of time to chat and catch up with my fellow breakfasteer! The food was plentiful, and the coffee and tea was constantly flowing! (Burp!) Recommended!

We were served this evening by Anna she was amazing very friendly and helpful it was very busy when we arrived and got shown our table ASAP and we ordered our food and drinks and wasn't waiting long really quick service and Anna was fantastic bestest servers we have had in this harvester

Anna was super helpful and welcoming upon arrival. Her friendly and accommodating manner will influence us to return to the harvester.

We were here on a Saturday afternoon. The place was generally good. A bit dirty at the tables. We waited a long time for our order but it was very busy. The food was hot and very good. I recommend it

Great food, kept waiting at front for about 10 mins while staff walked past us the whole time.

Harvester has always been to our to go pub whenever we are traveling. In this occasion, the food served in Pontypool branch was well prepared and exactly like what we had ordered. So, very happy with it. The server was very friendly and attentive. The only reason, I put 4 stars is that the food came out very slow.

We have been using this restaurant for a number of years. We do use others as well, but this one is a family favourite. We always get the best service and food. Even though this restaurant is further away than the others, all four of my family fully agree. Many thanks to all the staff.

I ordered the ultimate mixed grill sat outside at table 125 and the ribs taste appalling I thought I would give it a try since it’s been rebuilt i’m very disappointed and I feel incredibly sick.. Update I just spoke to the manager turns out the food comes in pre-cooked and they just reheat it that’s appalling they than said I had to go on the website and make a complaint on there and give them a poo sample how disgusting is that for the manager to ask for that when in a restaurant and in front of my family.

Had a lovely afternoon lunch here. Me and my friend came here today and was served by the lovely Courtney. She was very attentive and very busy but made sure to check back with us. Food was lovely. Always have the same meal and it never disappoints. Will definitely be back again !!

Came here with work colleagues and was quite disappointed. I ordered the fish and chips with mushy peas.. The portion of mushy peas was pitiful and they were dry. Also it came with a mushroom which I found quite bizarre. Over priced mediocre food. Il stick to the Greene King pubs in future.

Good salad bar selection. Main meal was good . Slow service. Not too busy.

Waiting an hour after expected collection time, after collecting order and taking home, opened food to find that the order was incorrect and no burger add ons that was paid for, very disappointed

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The service from Liam and Anna was top-notch, and they were both incredibly attentive and friendly, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. I would give the service a solid 5 stars! As for the food, it was very good, but I felt it could have been just a little better to earn a perfect score. I’d rate the food 4 stars overall, as the flavors were great, and the presentation was impressive. I’m definitely looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes in the future!

Myself and 4 friends went to the Harvester on Wednesday the 12th of march. The food was lovely. One of my friends can’t eat nuts or any foods containing seeds. They went out of their way to cater her needs. The one big review is about the young gentleman that served us was Matt ( Mathew ) . Matt couldn’t do any more for us. He was amazing nothing was too much for him. Matt is a very professional’ perlite young man. Keep up the good work Mathew. 👏👏👏

We booked a table only when we got to the venue that it was very busy, we waited to be seated only to be ignored several times, while staff picked up menus. After waiting for 10/15 minutes a member of staff (who had ignored us originally) came and told us that although we had booked a table it was a 20 minute wait for a table and an hour wait for food. Within that time we went to Cwmbran, seated and had our food.

Brought our kids there for breakfast (2 year old + 6 year old). It was a standard dining experience up until my youngest spilled her drink over the table and herself. I asked Tom at the bar for a towel as I was more than happy to clean up myself but he jumped straight in and attended to the mess personally. Tom was lovely with the children and made them feel really special. He was very friendly and chatty and we had a lovely time which elevated our standard experience of this place. Between him and his colleague Tim we felt very taken care of as a family which is much more than we were expecting! Whatever you do don't fire Tom and Tim and if they ever say they're leaving raise their salary to get them to stay.

Tim was lovely, cracking jokes and chatted to me about theatre, made my families night!

Wow, what can I say!! Came for my 40th birthday meal and our server Tim was fantastic!! Every restaurant needs a Tim! So attentive, friendly and got our complicated orders correct, thanks for the chats and giggles Tim! :)

I think my breakfast was missing 1 mushroom and 1 tomato as the menu says the ultimate breakfast has 2 mushrooms & 2 tomato's

Vegan chicken they brought out was cooked wrong. Very tough. They changed it without any issues and had a brilliant vegan burger that tasted out of this world.

Even though we were later in the evening the food was lovely and there was no pressure to eat quickly. Really nice venue.

Staff very professional and friendly. The food was excellent. However the Harvester looking a bit tired in places. No loo roll hand drier defective and the salad bowls have seen better days. I would however still recommend and go again. Just needs a bit of a facelift

Things seem to be quieter at breakfast time now they've moved away from an all you can eat approach to a traditional breakfast menu. However, prices are still reasonable although drinks can bump up the price a lot. Look out for offers via the app to help things. Service this morning really was excellent, really helping out with a stroppy 3.5 year old. Food was quick, tasty and really filling. The restaurant was clean and it was a pleasant breakfast all round.

We always enjoy our visits to Harvester at Pontypool - very friendly staff, great salads that are replenished regularly and fab food! Amy is fantastic, always recognises us when we visit, nothing is too much trouble and she is always cheerful even if she is rushed off her feet. Thank you Amy, you’re a star 🌟

The food was excellent as per usual. Food cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious and our server, Jacob, was absolutely superb. Would definitely recommend!

Can get a bit cold inside if sat by the air con, we had the ultimate breakfast with unlimited tea/coffee. Very nice. Free parking and Wi-Fi.

Mother in law, myself and my 1 year old boy stopped by after a days shopping. From start to finish the service was out of this world. I didn’t catch the ladies name who first served us (curly dark hair) but she was so lovely and accommodating, nothing we asked seemed to much. Then Anna took our table over and whilst going from table to table she never once seemed phased by anything anyone was asking. Then after we paid our bill, my son put his hands out to her and she was making him laugh, making him smile and helped us to get the most for our money making us aware of the app and that kids eat for £1 on there. She honestly was incredible and the way she was with my son was honestly heart warming. A very very lovely lady. It was a great evening at Harvester anyway and she made it even better! Credit to you both the ladies that served us!

A server called Tom made this meal much more enjoyable. He had a very good sense of humour and cheerful nature which made the atmosphere very pleasant. I have allergies and he was very helpful at finding things that were safe for me to eat without making feel awkward in any way, which often happens in other restaurants. There's was plenty of choice for myself even with my allergy issues and two other family members being vegetarian. We are not the easiest people to serve but he delt with it easily with a smile. We didn't have to wait long for service, drinks, taking our orders or meals, it was all very quick. Top marks

love harvester but on this occasion both main food meals was delivered cold. There was no free salads supplied. And both treacle puddings had to be heated at home and you could tell they hadn't even been heated at all.

Visited Harvester Pontypool to meet a friend. Booked ahead. Good reception and shown to table immediately. Had a great server Cerys, who was cheerful, helpful and courteous. Great food, even tried a special starter not on the main menu. Good was excellent and my steak cooked to perfection. Great atmosphere and all the staff were friendly. Amy also gave us some great advice and was helpful.

Lovely warm welcome and brilliant staff. Good value for money.

Jess was our server, the food was ok. The steak was overcooked a bit but was edible. Jess was brilliant, I gave her a game where she had to choose a random pudding for me to have out of two I gave her and I didn’t want her to tell me which one she selected. She did it no question! Goes to show that she cares about interacting with her guests

Had a great sirloin steak here recently at a Birthday bash, don't know if they have a better supplier or better cooks here but it's head and shoulders above the Harvester in Malpas.
