The best restaurants serving British food in Wales

Stayed 4 nights . Room was clean + nice and quite at the back of the hotel with a comfortable bed and modern bathroom with shower. Room service was excellent the bed was remade everyday the coffee water bottles and biscuits replaced as required. So good value for money . Breakfast from 7am downstairs in the bar serving traditional Breakfast which is very good value + numerous other items . Lovely quite little town but parking can be irritating. No parking on site but there is a large pay and display at the rear of the hotel overnight parking £8 Otherwise take your chance with Street parking I did notice parking fines had been issued in the main Streets. My only complaint is the Main menu for meals later in the day ! Ok I get why Wetherspoons have done this and the cost of living crisis. But come on! Pizza, Burgers and other assorted high calorie American inspired junk food is not the way too go ! This needs a rethink! We ate in once Fish and Chips with mushy peas, it was ok for 2 hungry travellers and the drinks are very good value . After that we went hunting for more traditional fare . Don't miss a walk up to the local castle about 300 yds from the hotel, You can walk around the grounds for free and see the Peacocks displaying in the rear gardens.

We were having trouble with the app and the gentleman behind the bar talked my husband through it and how to use it a very helpful member of staff and always cheerful and helpful as are the other members of the staff

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the valley and I can honestly say it was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional. The staff greeted me with warm smiles and a level of hospitality that made me feel right at home. The rooms were absolutely beautiful—spacious, tastefully decorated, and impeccably clean. Every detail, from the plush bedding to the stunning views, was thoughtfully curated, making for a truly relaxing environment. It was easy to unwind in such a well-maintained space. What truly stood out was the staff's commitment to ensuring every guest had a memorable experience. They were attentive without being intrusive and were always ready to offer recommendations or assistance when needed. Their friendliness added a personal touch that often goes missing in larger hotels. I highly recommend the valley to anyone looking for a fantastic stay in Anglesey… The combination of stunning accommodations and top-notch service makes it a place I can't wait to return to! Absolutely lovely meal today! New managers are really making a vast improvement to the standards of the pub. I will definitely be returning after avoiding the place for the past year and a half

We hadn't planned eating in Tenby. We stumbled on this restaurant and were welcomed by the friendly barmaid. Our fish and chips dishes were served quickly. The fish, salad and chips were nicely presented and tasty. Reasonable prices. A good find.

We have visited this lovely tearoom many times over the last decade and love the setting and food. The prices have gone up, perhaps inevitably, but the food was tasty and the cakes were extremely decadent. However we - and other tables - did not like the choice of pop music being played from an Alexa (!) in such a traditional setting. It was not in keeping with a 15th century cosy traditional tearoom. No music was needed at all. It was also disappointing to find that there is no longer an indoor toilet. There is one toilet outside with no shelter to wait under. I'm sure we'll return next time we're in the area though

Exceptional service from Callum, Ross & Abbi. All our food came out quickly, warm and great quality for the reasonable pricing. All needs were met and the entire group enjoyed an evening at our local for a birthday celebration. Would recommend you try for yourself. Also do a great Bingo every other Thursday. Friendly family fun.

Had lunch here. The seating in the garden is very pleasant. Unfortunately the quality of the food has really declined. I had the burger, fries and slaw, but the quality of the burger was really poor. Coffee cheap and out of a machine.
