Harvester Cardiff Bay in Cardiff

I visited the Harvester with my partner and from moment I walked in I felt comfortable & relaxed, staff were superb & have to say "Cady" stood out & went that extra mile - she gave exceptional service with smile on her face & had good product knowledge & despite being busy ensured we were okay throughout and wasn't pushy in any way allowed us to order in our own time, service was great - ordering process was simple & food arrived in good time (I had Dirty Burger+ & my Partner had Original Combo) and sat at Table 35 - food was hot & tasty and atmosphere was great venue was clean and I liked that staff appeared happy and bubbly made the when experience enjoyable for us - genuinely couldn't fault visit & will certainly be back next time I'm in the area "K"

Haven't been here for a while but heard good reports so we decided to give it a try. The place is very pleasant and the staff are very friendly and efficient, special thanks to Katie, she was lovely. Out of the 4 of us 3 had the fish and all said it was beautiful, I had a gammon steak and it was disappointing, overdone and chewy. Drinks are expensive and I was surprised that they had no Guinness which is my drink. But the one thing that really annoyed me was the amount of text messages I had regarding my booking. I had the first one which was the booking confirmation, great, then in the space of a few hours I had 4 texts stating that they were looking forward to seeing us, then finally one as we were en route again saying they were looking forward to seeing us but this time we were warned about registering the car which was helpful. But why bombard people with texts? Booking on line was a breeze but I wont do it again as I don't want lots of text messages.

Estábamos celebrando el cumpleaños de nuestro Hijo - suegro - junto con nuestra hija y nietos. Tanto nuestra nieta y yo sufrimos de alergias alimentarias y cuando el servidor vino por nuestro pedido le dijimos que yo era alérgico al huevo y las aves de corral y nieta era alérgica a los cacahuetes. Pregunté por Gammon sin el huevo y ella dijo que estaba bien y que lo servirían con piña. Aparte de que a nuestra nieta le dijeron que no tuviera ninguna de las salsas ya que contenían cacahuete, ella estaba bien con su pedido. El resto de la familia ordenó y el servidor nos dejó. Regresó en unos minutos y dijo que no podía comer el gammon ya que estaba cocinado junto a pollo y huevos en la misma parrilla. Dije, vale, entonces comeré bistec como lo había hecho antes y el chef lo había cocinado bajo una parrilla en lugar de en la parrilla donde se cocina todo lo demás. Ella se fue y luego regresó y dijo que el Chef no podía hacer eso y que la persona que lo había hecho anteriormente había roto seriamente las reglas! Ella me dio el menú para hacer otra elección de comida. Pensé, que para estar seguro tendría la hamburguesa VEGANA. Se lo dije y me dijo: "Pero eso se cocina con pollo, huevos y carne". Le dije que por lo tanto NO era VEGANO. ¡Pero ella dijo que los clientes veganos no tenían problemas con que se cocinara junto con la carne! Así que le pregunté qué podía tener en realidad y ella dijo que realmente solo podía tener las conchas de pasta en salsa de tomate. No me gusta tanto la pasta pero, como tenía hambre, me di cuenta de que no tenía absolutamente ninguna opción. También me sentía muy mal por mi Hijo - suegro - Ley, ya que estaba destinado a ser su celebración de cumpleaños y estaba causando una "molestia". Resulta que incluso la comida vegetariana se cocina junto con la carne y las aves. Seguramente va en contra de la ley afirmar que algo es vegano o vegetariano y no ser completamente. Cuando hablé con el servidor al respecto, dijo que sí declaró en el sitio de alergias para Harvester que esto era así. Envié un correo electrónico a Harvester al día siguiente pero, hasta la fecha - 6 días después, no he recibido absolutamente ninguna respuesta. Obviamente no les importa un higo el servicio al cliente. Por cierto el plato de Pasta Shell era horrible y solo pude comer un par de bocados.

Dined here on two occasions recently, the food was tasty, hot, and presented with care. Nice atmosphere with decent spacing between tables. On both occasions we were served by Ashley ( one with hair the other bald) both went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our dining experience there. Would highly recommend this eatery…

I ate here on 5/2/25 with four other family members. The food was fine - I always enjoy the food in Harvesters - but the place was freezing! We asked the waiter if they could turn the heating up but at first he said the temperature was controlled by head office and they couldn't change it and then, after speaking to his manager, he said they were waiting for a plumber to come and fix it. We had to sit there in our outdoor coats and I was particularly concerned about my mother-in-law, who is 94, who said she was feeling unwell. As I said the food was fine, although my wife complained hers was cold but it probably got cold because the whole place was freezing. Many others were complaining as well. Not good enough!

Visited lunchtime today, Thursday, 6th Feb 2025 with my son we had ribs and scampi, which was delicious, great service, our host Mike was so tentative, hardworking and welcoming. Mike is a true asset and ambassador for your organisation. Thank you Harvester!

Incredibly frustrating interaction with the host yesterday. We arrived to a quiet venue at 1pm to be told that the next table would be available from 5pm 'if we'd like to wait or come back', we then check online to see if we can make a booking and it's accepted. We asked the host if there was a bar table available or something quick as we had our toddler with us and really just wanted a sundaefor them. I was trying to avoid pointing out around 10/14 empty tables and directly asking for those. His response was 'it's a busier Sunday than normal and they would be soon fully booked with a table of 20 coming soon' Mental.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Especially Elise. Nothing was too much trouble. The food and service was also excellent.

I can't speak highly enough of this Harvester Cardiff Bay. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a warm welcome from the from the Manager on duty Mike. A special thanks for accommodating us as I wrongly entered the number of guests. Harvester was especially busy on this night as the Cardiff devils were playing in the Viola Area which is very close by. Mike was very attentive and reassured us not to worry, he would have a table within a few minutes. Literally a few minutes later, we were seated and enjoyed our drinks whilst looking at their fantastic choice of menu. We had a very friendly waitress by the name of Cady, who was working her second shift, we would have never guessed that!… Cady was very helpful regarding the menu, very attentive, super fast in delivering our meals even though it was very busy. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals in a great calm atmosphere. All the staff on our visit were very friendly and welcoming. A big thanks to Mike the manager on duty, and Cady our server. We will definitely be back! 5 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Pretty awful. Probably understaffed so can’t blame the staff, but they seemed tired and so service wasn’t good… food pants. Took ages to arrive.

Food was decent, as you'd expect of a harvester. Service was poor. They were clearly short staffed as the waitress told us she's usually out the back not waiting on. Waited a long time between courses, and so long for desert (20 mins or so after finishing mains to get desert menu and another 10 mins for them to come back and take the order) that we didn't have time for desert at all.

Great meal, great service and great price. Staff all friendly and helpful. Shout out to the young waiter this evening who went out of his way to inform myself and other customers of 50% discount via the Harvester app!

No chicken strips, only chicken fries. Crackerjack prawns off the menu. Only tempura ones not much prawn in them. Rest of meal was usual decent quality. Ribs could have done with a bit longer cooking time.

We come mostly lunch times for their lunch menu and find the place hospitable relaxing and the food especially chicken meals superbly tender. Portions generous. Salad bar tasteful. Staff despite being busy (Kath) attentive. Non alcoholic drinks expensive but water is free!

I took my mother down for some lunch and it was honestly some of the best food we have ever had our lovely waitress Elise was the most delightful person ever always attending to our needs and just being such a help with my mum since she has some allergen requirements Definitely will be coming back for the food and the services.

Friendly and welcoming place, nice and clean. Been here several times. Salad bar excellent, even if the plates are getting smaller. Had the ribs and quarter chicken. Poor value for the money. The ribs must have came off a minuture pig, as there was hardly any meat. Only go when we have a good offer on. Elsie was lovely

As far as harvesters go, This was one of the best ones I've been to. Great customer service and the food was great.

Thought I'd treat myself and my son to a harvester but was disappointed. It was nearly 40 mins till our food arrived and for the price we paid it definitely wasn't worth it I expected more than we got. Food was nice but won't be going again I've had better in other restaurants and cheaper to

Great food and staff, but it would be good to separate families with children from other diners. This isn't Charlie chalks. Having children running around and screaming isn't the best - it's a restaurant - not a play park.

Absolutely stunning food always beautiful

Great service from all the staff at this Harvesters 👏 100% loved our time there and will be back yet again. My wife and the Five Grand Children loved it as well they all eat all of their food and said how nice it was. Very reasonable prices as well I must say three courses for 7 of us with drinks as well came to under £120.00.

Completely the wrong order received, this has happened before from the same branch, extremely annoying as the I have to now reorder and wait for a refund so I'll need to pay twice this is highly frustrating especially when I have a hungry child!

Booked a pre Christmas catch up with several friends and their families, 11 adults and 5 kids. Given tables fairly close together. Food took well over 1hr an hour to arrive, and they brought the kids food out last, which wasn't ideal. Some of the food had clearly been sat under the lights staying warm for a long time, as the chicken had gone rubbery and dry. The waitress was great, couldn't have done more, the issue seemed to be with the kitchen. Not a bad experience overall, but could be improved.

My first Christmas day that I didn't need to cook. And it didn't disappoint. Our server was lovely , happy and very attentive (Georgina??) . Looking forward to coming back another day 🙂

Come back from Liverpool today and I always visit this place but I’ve never left a review. And after today I thought I really need to leave one because its always consistent really nice food and atmosphere. But most of all the members of staff really are amazing, very polite and courteous at all times. Very long wait between ordering and food arrival, 30mins!! Would have been longer if I hadn't spoken to the server. Think what happened is one person took order then shift ended and a new server took over and we got forgotten about.

We booked our Christmas dinner here after exploring various options across Cardiff and felt the choice on offer was better suited if you didn't want the traditional Turkey dinner and was extremely reasonable price wise. It is fair to say, my expectations were far exceeded as the food was not only delicious but was also served nice and hot. Staff were well organised and despite it being crazy busy, they were fantastic...really friendly and cheery! Well done Cardiff Bay Harvester team, you did great today! 🙌🏻

Visited this evening (23rd December). Great service from Ashley who was friendly, welcoming and accommodating despite being very busy!

Ordered from here as they had salad included with the meals. No salads delivered with the meals - bitterly disappointed as this was the only reason for ordering from here. Won't be doing it again

The venue is not adequately heated large areas no radiators not the place for retired people to cold

Met up with a friend for some dinner, the food was geat and didn't have to wait too long even tho they were busy and all the staff we lovely and friendly i would definitely recommend coming here again

The restaurant is awful, it’s dirty and in my opinion in need of a refurb! We Booked a table for 9 and we were spread over 2 tables. There was old food and shredded napkins under one of the tables! The food was brought out over a 10 min period rather than all together! And when it came it was average! We see definitely won’t be returning.

Service level was good unfortunately it took approximately 40 mins for the mains to arrive, the GM let too many people in, the kitchen had too many orders to process. Food wasn’t great but edible. Overall a nice experience but the quality of the mixed grill wasn’t the best. Chef did a great job in keeping his team members from getting too stressed because of the GM rammed the place with too many walk ins

One of the best harvesters I’ve been to clean friendly welcoming. But the bacon bits need changing

Popped in late afternoon after lunch time rush. Laid back atmosphere no rush, service was slower than usual and food was a bit tired looking when it arrived. Salad bar was ransacked and had to ask for refill of containers. Not their best on this day but usually really good.

Visited Harvester both at Pencoed and Cardiff bay and both Restaurants and staff excellent.

Just popped in for a coffee with the wife before our meeting, was told to sit on the left which was only a couple of tables and they needed cleaning, only 4pm and not busy so didn't understand why we got put in the corner, appreciate only coffee but felt like second class.

Came with a party of 12 for a birthday get together. Very happy with service, cost, food, and altogether atmosphere. Lovely warm, ambient and cozy place. Would definitely come again.

La comida estaba bien, pero el servicio era bastante lento y tuvimos que preguntar al camarero después de esperar un rato que nos gustaría nuestros postres por favor porque íbamos a tener que salir pronto. Esto llegó muy pronto y luego pagamos la cuenta. ALERTA DE CHOQUE! CUIDADO CON EL 20 % DE IVA AÑADIDO AL FINAL DE LA FACTURA. Esto es un extra oculto. 99 se añadió a la factura como este cargo. Ese es el equivalente a una comida extra. La excusa que me dio el personal fue que es común en la industria alimentaria. Nunca he estado en ningún otro minorista de alimentos donde esto haya sucedido. No volveré a ninguna cosecha y aconsejaría precaución para calcular el IVA extra antes de realizar un pedido. Esto tampoco se muestra visiblemente. ¡Muy muy travieso!

I had the Christmas Dinner, and OMG I took 1 look at it and gave it back. They gave me a full carrot not even chopped which was full of water and very spongey, the roasties were really dry, the peas and broccoli was crunchy. And I had a tiny pot of Gravy which didn't even cover a quarter of the plate. NEVER AGAIN.

Possibly the worst steak I’ve ever had. It was mostly chewy fat and tasted awful, My wife and daughter’s meals were fine. We never saw a waiter/waitress until we asked for the bill. Once I had told the waiter that my meal was awful he just said I’ll let the chef know and proceeded to charge me for everything including my food which had barely been eaten.

My mother happened to get engaged at this restaurant after we had a lovely day in Cardiff! Our server Max was incredibly sweet, offering free wine and giving discounts to our meal, his kindness was commendable and I had a really lovely night.

Visited the Cardiff bay store today had chicken tikka flat bread was very spicy not like chicken tikka told waitress that this dish was way to spicy customer should informed as no mention on the menu that why I left most of it his reply was leave a review and gave me a card didn’t really seem to busy to care no one came to table as usually do to ask if everything was ok

You know what you get at harvester and it very rarely changes, albeit I do think they are starting to get expensive on the drinks £4 for a bottomless coke is ridiculous, especially for a family of 4

Went here tonight, was served by Ashley P he was very polite, made sure everything was ok with food we had and his overall service he provided was great. Food ok. Breakfast spread out on rectangle plate I suppose to make meal look bigger. A good point was I didn't realise they allowed dogs in bar area. This was pointed out by manager as another customer complained about my pooch being left in car. The back of my car is set up as a kennel for pooch with windows always left open and has a special indoor fan for his comfort. As he is a nervous dog and can't be left on his own at home. Thank you to other customers who reported my pooch left in car. But if he was barking he was protecting his environment. Disappointing aspect of visit to Harvester was other customers (men in orange) being very raucous in their behaviour. Especially when outside they were coughing and spitting. No action taken by manager as to their behaviour. Their behaviour did make me think twice as to should I go into Harvester?. I wish I had listened to me gut feelings. I should have gone to Ikea. Rated service 2 star as I had been told originally by staff they would come over with bill. I waited 20 minutes for this to happen only because they cleared table and I requested bill. Would I re-visit ? No !!!

Well where do I start, went and got my salad went to go and eat it and notice hair was in my salad. Went and asked for a manager and guy called Max said I manager how can I help, explain what I found and didn’t even seem that bothered and asked which side I got my salad from and went over to it and just turn spooned over it and asked did I want another salad. I yes yes and he said well used other side. He did not replace any of salad trays. Then had to asked someone else can we have new one and when pasta one came out they then tip one where hair could have come from on top of fresh one. I then went to eat my main and chicken was so dry and jacket potato seem better days all black when I turn jacket over and where you meant to get half ribs on this new offer well it was more like not even quarter. Had to send it back due as you could not eat it. Then order a dessert hoping it was going to be ok, well guess what it wants. Had one of their new ice cream sundae and well missing items from it and all ice cream melted before I could eat it. Did say to Max when I paid for dessert I don’t think I should have paid especially when hair was in my food and he could not be bothered. I asked for head office details and got told to do survey and when I asked for his name, he said my name on their but I write it big for you. Had such a nice time at the Harvester today. The service however is one of the best I’ve had at a restaurant and really made the experience for me. Our servers name was Kate and she was so lovely. Would highly recommend the pulled barbacoa burger, it was heaven in a burger.

Celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday as it could accommodate a big family lots of different ages, ,not fussed on the new menu really don't know why they change the corn on the cob to cornbread. It's absolutely disgusting. The salad bar needed restocking and no plates for the bread apart from that all okay, The waitress was lovely very helpful.

Worst service ever encountered in harvester, not enough staff to cater for guest to enjoy a meal out without having to run around looking to for staff. Food was cold and soggy but couldn't get it changed. Try to speak to the manager after he was dragged out to sort a mistake from another customer but he wasn't interested in what I had to say and he refused to part refund for the food that was wasted. Infact the manager looked either drunk or on drugs, either way he was very unprofessional. The 2 lads running the restaurant and bar were really up against it however it meant customers weren't getting the service paid for. Not once we're we asked if the food was ok, if so we could have sorted it then, wasn't asked for drinks or desert. If your understaffed then stop bookings so that the customers can be treated as they should be.

Better than most restaurants at this time of day (10:30). Not many serve pancakes.

Excellent service,I had a mixed grill and it was the best one I have had for a long time. Definitely recommend and will definitely be returning.

Fabulous first time visit will now be our Harvester of choice! Definitely worth driving a distance for. Clean friendly and delicious food plenty of parking!

We absolutely love this Harvester it's the best restaurant in Cardiff, the food is always bussing and totally slays here. The service is very good and the atmosphere is groovy. Well done to the staff and the chefs you are amazing 🙂
