Great food great staff.love going there. .as always nice food...ice cream dying for.just help yourself. Great atmosphere.

Went for a carvery which I think is well priced, went for the XL plate which allows you additional meat etc and that was around £12.50 I think? Thoroughly enjoyed the carvery and because it's well priced, it's super popular & gets rammed, so make sure you book a table. Don't risk a walk-in.

Great lunch for my friend’s 80th. Lovely food and service.

Took ny team for food in December which was faultless but lost my receipt to claim back on my expenses. Called today and Andy went above adf beyond to take the time to find our orser and provide me with a receipt. He could have easily said no but spent best part of 20 minutes sorting it out for me. Thanks Andy!

Food was disgusting!!! Would not return! Gravy was so thick and lumpy I had to ask 2 members of staff to thin it down as I couldn’t pour it. Peas were rock hard, carrots were so soft and soggy. The red cabbage and sprouts were the food had been stood for ages they were dried up and tasted awful. There wasn’t any staff when we left to complain and we had already paid. Absolutely disgusting. Maybe earlier in the day would be better as constantly food being replenished.

Had food on delivery turned up.late stone cold and contaminated with chicken.bones, spoke to staff who said he was duty manager and would send a discount for future use as not sure what he could do but as I thought nothing ever arrived in my email, this was on Sunday 29th Dec 2024, Next day still nothing Sent from the so called duty manager just shows the service levels they say something and.then just don't follow through don't even have the decency to respond

Have ordered multiple times and usually have no issues, but tonight I ordered a large carvery and a kids carvery (solely for the extra meat that comes with it), the large carvery had no turkey, no mash potatoes, no stuffing, no sausage, no extra meat, no roasties either (clearly since the turkey was missing and beef was minimal). And the kids carvery was also missing the mash potatoes and stuffing and roast potatoes. Literally all I got was beef, Yorkshire puddings, and vegetables, out of which only the peas and carrots I eat because I'm a fussy eater. Terrible service today, would like my money back. If I make an order and you can't prepare it correctly or you have changed the ingredients you should update your Uber app to reflect that. I see you have raised your prices, but sadly you can't update the items description along with it. Also you can add some options to remove things for people who don't like everything.

Just had an Amazing Christmas day lunch at the Hollybush Service , Staff and food was Excellent. Will be definitely booking again for next year . Very Festive Atmosphere.

Lovely Christmas Day lunch. Staff were excellent but. The building itself is old and drab. Badly in need of a major renovation. Mould on walls, hard board on ceiling, windows hanging out of their frames. Paintwork chipped and dirty. Toilets need updating.

Visited today we had the festive menu I had the festive burger made by Dave which was delicious everyone thoroughly enjoyed the festive carverys all piping hot and very tasty would definitely recommend will be visiting again very soon

Went here today with my partner, and I was shocked at how expensive it is here. One large carvery, one standard carvery and two glasses of diet coke came to £28.60! I thought that was terrible value seeing as there wasn't much vegetables to choose from, only a few roast potatoes left and honestly just a plain carvery. I wouldn't pay those prices again. I also found the staff very strange. They stare a lot and apart from one very Welsh woman who was friendly, the rest of the staff are rude and strange, especially the woman on the bar. Wouldn't recommend this place at all.

Attended with a large group and enjoyed a delicious three course Christmas lunch. Lisa and her team looked after us very well. Would recommend.

We had a get together of 45 members of the Village Hotel Aqua classes. it was well set out for the 45 of us over 4 long tables and all 3 course meals were serviced very efficiency and all 3 coursed were serviced at the correct temperatures. Our waitress Lisa and some of her helpers were so good helpful and nothing was too much trouble

Came in for breakfast, wow just how bad can it get, bacon so hard it you couldn't cut it, black pudding let's just say black stone couldn't even bit into them, fryed bread you could of rung out and re used the oil from it🤢. Only good thing was the sausage which I loved as for tomato and beans they were tins so they were ok. Unfortunately I wouldn't not entertain coming back for the breakfast, I think you should just stick to what you know and how to cook and that's a carvery, not the best but a good one.

I get their too good to go carvery boxes. Always packed to the top with generous portions of meat + veg and full of delicious warm food. All for only £3.29! What excellent value for food and the service is always quick. I get there and my food is always ready to collect no waiting around

Only tiny piece of beef roast left which was very fatty, when I asked for beef I expected him to bring a fresh joint out he preceded to place the fatty pieces on my plate. Told him I'd just have turkey. Lady behind me asked for fresh beef he told her not until that piece had been finished meaning some poor people having to eat the scrag ends. Not great when everybody is paying the same.Shame previous visits food has always been excellent.

I think the manager could tell that we don't go out often. (I suffer with anxiety) He explained everything to us and helped put us at ease. We were able to sit in a quiet area which helped massively as all 3 of my teenagers have adhd. When it came to ordering he was able to correct an issue I was having with an app. We use Stonehouse as its the only place I can get sausages and chips for my son (it's the only food he eats due to his disabilities). During a conversation with the manager I explained how I pay the 7.99 for 3 sausages and then buy a portion of chips to make the meal. He said he would arrange it with the kitchen to make the chips and that I didnt need to order them separately. This action was simply amazing and made my son feel great as at other branches he had to sit with his sausages while I've had to chase where his chips are. I feel like the manager went above and beyond for us and this simple gesture with the chips made a massive difference so I can't thank him enough. The other staff were also really friendly and the chef knew straight away that we were the family for the chips which shows great communication skills with in the team. Service was really fast and efficient. I watched how the other staff helped an elderly man with his wife in a wheel chair and they were again brilliant with the way they helped him. It was really nice to see this level of friendliness and helpfulness as you don't see it very often anymore.

This place does a great mid week carvery and very good sevice, roast potaots were the best ive had in a long time , nice and crisp soft inside ,lovely job , thanks guys .

I come here quite often with my dad usually for breakfast came here today after being away for a few weeks to learn that the prices have gone up and the service has gone right down the drain along with the food I waited 20 minutes for bacon to come out and when it finally did it was pale and looked really fatty never had a problem untill now only good thing was I got a refund but I won’t be coming back bring back the old manager I say! Also the manager did apologise and given me money back still was £1:98 short I also recommend having a word with your chefs because they can’t cook

Nice food and good atmosphere. Plenty of seating and can always find a quiet corner. Friendly staff. Plenty of food options although I always go for the carvery! It's our go-to place when travelling along the M4 in South Wales as it's situated just 5 mins off junction 32 near Cardiff.

Lovely pub, staff super friendly. Dogs allowed in the bar area so that's great for me and my dad as we're always with the dogs. I had the Hawaiian pizza which was 50% off on Tuesdays! Love a bargain. Dad has the fish and chips and thoroughly enjoyed. Will come back for sure.

Been a loyal customer to this carvery for years and years. Won’t go any where else except this carvery….however after yesterdays visit I have to finally close the doors on this establishment. I visited yesterday with a party of 4 (two children) it was all new staff working (which is a red flag in itself) I ordered two carvery’s and two kids meals (one a cheeseburger). Upon going to the carvery all the veg was bottom of the barrel. Where it had been under the warm lights for so long all the moisture had gone out of it and dried everything out. I asked the extremely large chef who always looks like he can’t be bothered to be there, if he could bring out some fresh veg. He replied he will check. Eventually he pulled out some fresh roasties that he was holding onto for some strange reason. I then went to the gravy station to find the worst gravy I’ve ever seen be paired with a cooked dinner. My Pepsi was thicker than the gravy. Upon sitting down the kids meals were brought to us. Except the cheeseburger meal was missing cheese or any garnish. I explained to the lovely waitress that we had asked for cheese on the burger. She then went back to the chef to get some put on but relayed a sarcastic messages from the chef saying “Next time specify cheese when ordering the burger”. I replied thats exactly what we had done to which she apologised on behalf of the chef. Ultimately this was the worst carvery we have had (and we’ve tried coopers before). Disappointing that this place has gone down the pan, was a family favourite.

A well run pub with great locals and a restaurant with good food. Friendly staff and excellent service. Live acts, the Saturday quiz and ‘play your cards right’ game with prizes is a blast. Recommended.

Lovely place, carvery plus lots of other food selections to choose from. Really nice food and staff were fantastic. Only one recommendation, you need to sort your salt cellars out as many are not working and somewhat congealed. Overall very nice though.

The food was not the nicest and cold and had to ask for the meat as only one option of meat on display not value for the money and some of the staff seemed unpleasant amd rude but the rest of the staff were friendly and accommodating. We will not be returning as much better cavery around the area

Not a very pleasant experience on this visit! How my long list of comments on the poor standards of this establishment wern't shown i don't know! I also had a reply recently via google reviews, apparently from the owner suggesting I telephone the Hollybush to give them the chance to address the issues we experienced on our visit, yet I tried calling the number given several times on different days yet no one answers the phone! Says a lot really!

Love this venue. Their all you can eat breakfast is fantastic value for money plus all you can drink coffee. I much prefer this Stonehouse to the local Toby nearby. Most of the staff are very friendly. We also recently tried a Too Good To Go breakfast bag which was jam packed! We have tried their Too Good To Go roast carvery bag but that was disappointing as the only meat were some sausages. Overall I have been here more than a dozen timesfor breakfast, carvery and also Christmas set menu and I have always thought it was great for the price.

I met an ex work colleague for breakfast at the Hollybush. This is the second time I’ve been there, and on both occasions, there was a good crowd there. which is always a good sign. The breakfasts are pretty good , being served buffet style, so you can eat as much as you like and also have unlimited teas and coffees. The staff are also very pleasant and extremely customer focussed. I shall be going back.

Hi came in with my adopted parents for food to celebrate a family success, ordered food was very smooth but we had issues with the pizza Enfys (I think thats how you spell the lovely lady who served me) took care of all our issues quickly She's an angel always smiling and made us feel welcome we need more enfys in the world defo a diamond. She deserves a pay raise or a holiday One other thing was she made the kids laugh by saying g she eats lettuce was priceless to hear them giggle we always call it rabbit food Keep up the good work enfys and stay safe

Never been before but tried out mainly for the pizza which was just as good as Pizza Express so my son said and he loved it. Same with the unlimited ice cream. The blue cheese buffalo chicken pizza is one of the best pizzas I have ever had. Such a good combination. There aren’t any of these restaurants near me usually but will look forward to visiting again in Cardiff.

Went for lunch today with my small grandson and husband. The food is always of a high standard here, that's why we always choose it. It didn't disappoint, delicious. The staff are friendly and welcoming, keep up the good work.

Been coming to hollybush a long time now.. lovely food and staff. The last time I attended on Monday evening the lady on the till was very rude even the customers infront of me were annoyed with her attitude. Its like she didn't even want to be there. My 8 year old son asked her for ice cream pot and she chucked it at him. Very disappointed

This a good place for a group or family meal. Staff are excellent and the food is very good. Their carvery is one of the best I've had. This place is better than most of it's kind. Decent size car park and plenty full seating. There is also a beer garden and conservatory.

Me and a work colleague ordered at the bar a pizza each and a starter each but the bar staff began to bring 4 starters then 2 what we had ordered but when we told them the extra starters wasn’t ours she insisted we had paid for them and they was for our table number, so after thinking we’d paid for them we was halfway through eating them and the manager came and took them away even though it wasn’t our mistake. All I can say the manager didn’t want to admit their mistake and acted like a big baby

Lovely carvery with all the usual options. The food is always fresh, which is maintained by a very steady flow of guests. Book your table as it gets full quickly, and you might end up disappointed otherwise. Lovely salad and burger options with fresh pizza. The staff seem to love their jobs, and this comes across with their friendliness. Family friendly.

I am a regular at the Hollybush the food is fab. The beer is great and the regulars are a fantastic community of people The staff at the Hollybush are very welcoming and can't do enough to help. Today I got to experience a new member of staff who I feel deserves some recognition. Over the years I Have seen many new starters but today I saw a very young gent in his first days as a waiter and as a young 16 year old I was very impressed. He went from table to table checking things were OK nd collecting glasses and plates, he carried many items at once and was always smiling. He seemed very confident and caring. It was boiling hot and it didn't seem to bother him at all. He was extremely polite and a pleasure to watch. I didn't get to ask his name but I think I may have overheard someone calling him josh. As always thanks for the hospitality

Carvery was ok but nothing special - meat itself was tasty and fresh, but veg had been sat there for quite a while, roast potatoes had almost finished, condiments had run out and we're only grudgingly refilled after asking, chef/staff behind carvery counter only grunted, not friendly at all. Other staff were fine. Place could do with a freshening up.

Food terrible everything frozen was told by the server when paying for meals that a small carvery for my 86 year old mum was cheaper than a kids carvery this wasn’t the case it was the same price as a child meal ladies toilets were out of order disabled toilet stank of urine whilst waiting for my mum to use the toilet two woman proceeded to walk into the disabled toilet after I told them twice that my mum was using it.

Catered to the needs of my grandson who is allergic to carrots everything came straight from the kitchen incase of Cross contamination extremely welcoming staff and a brilliant atmosphere would recommend and very reasonable pricing, our server Gareth was very accommodating and helpful, thank you very much.

The food here was amazing paired with the staff including the chef and waitering staff with their amazing service and friendly attitude. They supplied everything I asked for and made my experience perfect. Paired with this the food was amazing. Highly recommended
