We’re staying here tonight, but not off to a great start. Check-in was a hassle, first key didn’t even work and we had to wait to get it fixed. It seems this particular hotel also does not support the usual online check-in process. Did not receive early check-in, late check-out or suite upgrade for being a Radisson VIP member. Not informed of the breakfast process, either. These are rewards that are technically “subject to availability” however across hundreds of stays with Radisson I have never NOT had them, and have never had to ask until today. Online bookings showed plenty of suite availability, so this was purely a decision made by the front desk. The initial lady at the desk did not provide us with access to the executive lounge, either, and we had to ask for this. We were also given false information that VIP members are only upgraded to one tier above, which is absolutely incorrect. This is only true for the Premium tier members, not VIP. Unfortunately not pleased with this particular Radisson hotel so far.

Parking Pains and Room Views After a disastrous start at another hotel, we found ourselves at this one. Our main concern? Parking. They had it, but at £25 a day, it felt like highway robbery. For budget-conscious travelers, consider this an extra line item in your expenses. Now, the parking spaces—narrower than a tightrope walker’s path. If you’re rolling in a smart car, no worries. But our Jaguar? It grumbled like a teenager asked to do chores. The reception staff? Lovely, no matter the hour. Breakfast? A shining beacon of satisfaction—no complaints there. Our room, 410, overlooked neighboring apartments. We spotted a guy watching TV. He’s probably used to curious guests peering into his life. (Wouldn’t we all love a room with a view?) Tea situation: dire. No “normal” tea in our room. I raided the breakfast lounge like a tea-thirsty pirate. The room itself? A bit dull, like a faded postcard. The carpets? Well, let’s just say they’ve seen better days. And the shower screen? A leaky culprit. Water cascaded onto the floor, so we deployed towels like flood control experts. But here’s the twist: The hotel sits smack in the city center. An unexpected stay due to circumstance, but hey, it was okay. Not great, not terrible—just okay. 🏨🌆

Myself and partner stayed at the Radisson blu hotel and what can I say from start to finish our experience and time there was 11/10. We were meet by staff who had outstanding and exceptional customer service Lewis ,Wiktoria and Victoria they couldn’t do enough for us and made our stay so warming. The room was perfect and the view was beautiful too. The hotel was so clean and the staff were all so friendly always smiling and asking if everything was ok it was nice to stay somewhere where you could see the staff enjoyed their jobs. When we went to the bar Cameron and Mark who were they were amazing too again couldn’t do enough for us and the service again 11/10 from them. I have never stayed in a hotel where the staff are so friendly happy and make you feel special which is what you want when you stay away. I would like to thank Lewis, Wiktoria , Victoria , Cameron and Mark for making our stay at the hotel the best we have ever had and we will definitely be returning because of this service we received. Their customer service was beyond exceptional.

Sadly had move room 3 tines whist staying a week here. First room 1410 was too small then they moved me to 811 but the bed was very uncomfortable and air wasn't working I'm now in room 1101 much better and lovely view if city. The only I would say needs improving is more staff at reception, more waiters and more house staff. There only 2 house keeping staff working that I've seen

The hotel does not have parking, regardless of what they say in the website. They have about 20 spots for more than 200 rooms that are always full (obviously), and they send you to find your own parking in the Center of Cardiff and walk back.

Only good thing is how close it is to arena and city and the breakfast is ok if you book before your trip (its £35 each if you don't!). This hotel is not safe for women. The 'superior room with city views' has no city view just view of train tracks, is adjoining room with no lock on that door so whoever is next door can open it. All they had done to prevent this is prop a chair against it which is not good enough. There's holes in the carpet and the wall and ceiling near the shower is covered in black mould that has just been painted over! Looking at other comments there is no security on the doors late at night so anyone could follow you. This is very concerning when there's lots of fans staying here for concerts. Room is very basic. No fridge sadly. And very thin walls so you can hear everything from rooms either side of you. Standard rooms are also not very accessible. The bathtub is very high and difficult to step out of and the hand rail was not securely fixed to the wall! Will not be coming back here.

Just back from an amazing trip to this hotel. From the communication prior to the visit, to the wonderful dealings with staff, the Radisson Blu is getting everything right. I had 2 rooms on the 20th floor which were immaculate and the upgrade was so appreciated. I felt safe and comfortable in the surroundings. My daughter and friend had their own room which they loved (aged 18) and they especially loved the view. I have booked a return visit for Easter and am looking for excuses to book more dates !

Excellent location for business travellers who travel by train, as this hotel is very close to the Cardiff Central, only 5 mins walk away. The hotel is pleasant, clean and tidy, with 20 floors, useful if you want a bit of a view. The rooms are very spacious and have excellent facilities; a comfortable area to work, safe, tea and coffee making facilities, plenty of hanging space for clothes, a nice bathroom, full-length mirrors, iron/ironing board, and a large TV. Also plenty of lights, bedside lamps, reading lights, etc. I would say being close to the station, there is some street and rail noise. Also, you can hear heavy footsteps from other rooms, maybe above. This is the only reason I've marked the rooms down. Could also be considered a romantic place to stay as the bars/dining areas are pleasant and seemed quiet. Only minutes from some central areas of the town, useful for shopping and dining out. I would stay here again on business.

I don’t normally complain about hotels…. But I feel I must say something about the Radisson Blu Hotel, Cardiff … Absolutely we are never staying here again. 1. Check in at the hotel 3pm ( one man on the check in desk , a que of 10 people waiting to check in 3:30 , another 2 staff arrive and the general manager, 1 of the staff and the general manager continues past and go into the back office, leaving just two staff members at check in by this time the que is getting longer …. We ask is there any more staff who can help check in …. “The general manager then appears from the back office to say , we’ll check in is from 3pm ??? I’m like so why did you all turn up at 3:30 ??? No apology nothing … the room was ok , breakfast was awful powdered scrambled egg ??? Also powdered some sort of orange juice , i managed some rice crispys and a coffee . Right checking out ( well trying to ) 2 lifts for over 215 rooms so 20 floors, oh and a long walk down concrete steps no good if your disabled….. so we get to the lifts one says Private priority , so this lift was working but not for us so 1 lift and we were on floor 16 , it took ages and ages and ages to turn up , when it did it was full , full of customers who were in the same situation as us every time the lift got to floor 16 it was full of people , no room for us or the other people waiting because us to get in , so the doors closed and it went to floor 15, 14, 13, etc etc allways full no one could get in the happeded about 6 or 7 times . Ian Timms could not walk down 16 flights of stairs, so I left him and I started my walk down with the bags ( there was a kind man who helped me with my bags down the stairs…. When I got to the bottom I walked over to check in and started to complain was absolutely disgusting that a disabled person can not get into the lift and can not walk down the stairs…. The lady was apologising to me , then what happens, the same general manager must have overheard me and he came out , he starts with the lift is used for taking luggage down from rooms ??? I said so why can’t you use the staff lift , ?? No answer, then ian turns up , by this time I am so angry that I start to Cause a scene , I’m saying this hotel is a joke , I am shouting at this point , the general manager says to me “You need to calm down “ sill no apology, then he says to us “I knew you two would be trouble, from yesterday “ by this time I am in the car shaking with anger, if you find yourself in Cardiff don’t stay here , oh and £25 car park for 24 hours ……

We left the room and joined numerous other guests down the stairs from the twelfth floor, with alarm was drowning most of the conversation, what was very disturbing was we never saw a member of staff, we got down to the seventh floor when the alarm stopped, there was no was no smoke or anything else to suggest the alarm was for real, still no staff member, no guidance, we decided amongst ourselves to return up the stairs to our room.We rang reception on our return to our room, very indecisive, first told not to stay then it was ok. Went down to breakfast, a notice posted, offering an apoligy not one member of staff mentioned the earlier events. Cooked breakfast was not very hot, very average. Later in the day we spoke to a Trainee manager regarding the alarm incident he seemed amused, no explanation, no apoligy , got the impression, we have had your money, it doesn't matter. Stayed at the Radisson before but certainly not again, we completed our stay and left very dissapointed.

Our room was quiet being on the 10th floor. The room was large. The bed was queensize rather than kingsize which was disappointing. It was, though, comfortable. We had only one armchair plus a dressing table chair. I rather liked the luggage shelf. The bathroom was spacious. A grab rail at chest height would have been a useful addition to the shower. Our mini bar was empty and no bottled water was provided.Breakfast wasn't very good. The hot food was only lukewarm. Everything had been standing around for a while (this was 10:00am on Monday). The fried eggs were hard and the bacon was chewy. The only juice I could find was orange although after I had sat down I did see a juicer where you could squeeze oranges yourself. A nice touch. The pastries were somewhat depleted by the time I looked. There was a proper loaf of bread from which you could cut slices. We had a drink in the bar the first night and were pleasantly surprised to be given a tapas platter with it comprising olives, bread, cheese, hummus and Parma ham. This might have been a one-off. We weren't given any food with our beers the second night.

My husband treated me for my birthday and booked a suite as asurprise, wasn't disappointed it was large and furnished, clean, had large bed which was very comfy, dining space and soft chairs in the the room with flat screen tv. Cardiff motor point area minutes walk away and very close to city centre minutes walk to St David shopping centre with so much to do.

This was our third stay at the Radisson Blu in the past two years. The hotel is ideally situated within a short walking distance from the station and the attractions that the city has to offer. The familiar features and services were most welcome including a large, clean, warm and welcoming room, tastefully furnished in a modern style, including a large TV and comfortable bed. The en suite bathroom was equally large with all the usual modern facilities. The staff were again welcoming, courteous and helpful. We skipped breakfast on our second visit, last year, due to a chaotic experience during the first visit. This time we tried it again. Unfortunately the Buffet breakfast service was again completely chaotic with queues for tables and food. A lot of the cooked items were not replaced in time, resulting in queues for staples like bacon, eggs etc. The queue for the two toasters ...(why do hotels do this!!??)... was equally long so, by the time we got to our table again our food was almost cold. Even worse, the same one, of the two lifts, had broken down (yet again) and remained so all weekend. They even have a professionally laminated sign now, on its own special stand on the ground floor, apologising for the inconvenience! This left just one lift to cover twenty floors. We frequently had to negotiate eight flights of stairs because every time the lift arrived on our floor, it was too full to enter. Many people were also choosing to go UP the lift (in order go down) such was the chaos! Coincidence? I doubt it.This is clearly not a one off problem and the management clearly need to review this on-going lift problem, as well as their breakfast arrangements urgently. This is such a shame. It's a nice hotel and the staff are really friendly but the problems, outlined above, are clearly long-standing ones and, seemingly, are not being sufficiently addressed by the management. I strongly recommend that, if you choose to stay here, be sure to avoid breakfast at all costs and, if you have difficulty negotiating stairs, you may wish to look elsewhere. This third visit will, unfortunately, now be our last.

Stay one night in an executive room on 21st floor. Wonderful room large well equiped, two tvs large bed well stocked tea coffee including expresso maker. Great view over Cardiff Station, heaven for a train enthusiast. Staff and services very good. Hotel is 400m from central station walkable but with mobility problems it was going to be difficult. However the friendly and very efficant girl on the fast service button explained my situation to a local taxi company and arranged transportation. My only negative comment is with the hotels website. There is reference to an Italian restaurant, with a downloadable menu listing such delicacies as octapus and veal. That resturant and menu has been replaced by a little alcove adjacent to the main bar serving standard pub grub (in my opinion). However the free breakfast buffet is excellent. Overall would recomend this hotel highly.

Location A.1. We booked through an internet intermediary and indicated it was our wedding anniversary. Not only were we upgraded to a junior suite but were met in the room by a large plate with the message 'Happy Anniversary' inscribed in chocolate with strawberries and a creamy dessert. The room was spacious and spotless. Staff were excellent.

Stayed here for one night while attending a friends wedding. Check in staff were really friendly and helpful but the room was a little disappointing. I had booked a twin room as I was staying with a friend but ended up with a double!! Iron and hair dryer did not work although both were fixed with 30 mins.. Rooms look a little distressed and could do with a bit of a facelift.. Hotel has a great location but I prefer the Hilton or the park plaza

We ate at the Fellini restaurant on a Saturday. Extremely disappointed by the abysmal quality of the food, especially considering the steak was almost £25, and the less said about the service, the better. There were more staff on the floor than there were diners, and we still couldn't catch our waitress's eye unless we actually raised our voice to call her. Would definitely not recommend this restaurant.

The bread basket had some strange shards - a bit like poppadoms which tasted of nothing and there was no butter on the table for the 1 piece of proper bread. The veal I had was really tasty and very soft but the rosemary potatoes didnt really taste of rosemary and the burnt leeks were tough & burnt!

Hotel in general was fine and what you would expect. The restaurant however was a joke. From the very basic choice (which included 'spaghetti cooked in tomato sauce literally' whatever that means) I chose homemade tomato soup and tagliatelle bolognaise with' 'the chefs classic pork and beef sauce'.The soup was pleasant enough, if not a little cold. However when the main course arrived (after 35 minutes) I was amazed to see a plate of pasta, with little or no sauce, staring up at me.The pasta was cold and hugely overcooked, you could easily have picked it up and wrung it out it was so claggy, and the sauce was without doubt the worst pasta sauce I have ever tasted . Unlike a classic pasta sauce which would have cooked for a long time to get a depth of flavour, this was so bland the actual flavour was indistinguishable . There was no seasoning whatsoever, the sauce had cooked for such a short time that the chopped carrots were still hard, and had 5 cherry tomatoes plonked on top - together with a handful of coriander - since when that this been an Italian herb?No offer of black pepper or Parmesan cheese, and the waitress actually questioned me when I asked for a spoon to eat my pasta with asking why I would want that!A complaint to the restaurant manager 'Adam' was met with a smile and ' well no one else has ever complained - o offer of a replacement or any reduction in the ridiculous £15 price. Avoid this prentious chef, whose ideas far outweigh his ability,, and go to Pizza Hut - even they could out cook this idiot.

The restaurant with the best view in Cardiff also can supply you with a damn fine breakfast buffet. Window seats (or if possible -this is Wales- outside) are the best.
