Decidimos irnos después de esto y visitar un pub al otro lado de la calle que estaba prosperando y bebe menos de la mitad del precio con una gran selección. Me alegro de no haber comido allí. Uno pensaría que un bar tendría una buena calificación de higiene, pero este bar solo tiene un 3.La cerveza de trigo que tomé, causó estragos en mi estómago: tuve el peor trastorno que jamás haya experimentado. nunca más. Organizamos un evento en Buffalo como bienvenida a todos los novatos en Cardiff y, francamente, no pudimos haber elegido mejor. El personal fue extremadamente servicial y educado y mantuvo a la gran multitud que trajimos muy contentos. Como todos éramos estudiantes, incluso nos instalaron una mesa de pong de cerveza para mantenernos entretenidos. El lugar ofrece varias configuraciones, como un bar en la planta baja, un club en la planta superior e incluso una sala de estar en el exterior. Gran lugar para organizar pequeñas fiestas o incluso conocer gente durante el día. Gran ambiente. 10/10 volvería de nuevo.

Bump and grind is the best. Dance floor upstairs and beer garden and lounge downstairs. Monday night's, would recommend for ages 18 to 26 ish. Drinks arent too expensive and bar service is pretty quick

My son suffered an incident outside this place with some vile low life scum and I can honestly say ...... I wouldn't have quite known what to do without the help of each and every single one of the amazing staff at this place!!!!! I was surprised by the reviews on this restaurant, please give this a go, its so good! We ordered great frozen cocktails, and lots of dishes to share, including an aged meat burger with fries that was really excellent. Our waiter was really sweet and chatty, as well as fast and efficient, no complaints here!!

I went out for lunch with four work colleagues where 2 were vegans, one gluten free and one carnivore, understandably it can be difficult to find places that cater for such a range of needs. Buffalo achieved this seamlessly, accommodating for all our needs, and delivering delicious food, that was generously portioned and delivered with excellent service. The staff are very friendly and welcoming helping to create a great atmosphere. I would not hesitate to recommend Buffalo to anyone.

If you are looking for somewhere in Cardiff City Centre to have good quality food and service, plus catch some rays in the garden, Buffalo is definitely the place to go. We were a large group of 14 people and every single one of our meals were stunning. Very high quality food and the portions are very generous. Highly recommended!!!! There are such pressures for small businesses in City Centres these days and its really credible what independent restaurants like Buffalo can achieve. Thank you all for a really lovely lunch and we have agreed we will be back soon.

I went to Buffalo to try the Sunday lunch with friends (I'd heard good things about it). There were posters all over the walls advertising that lunch was served from midday onward; we arrived around 2pm but were surprised to find Sunday lunch had not begun. When I asked the bar staff about it all they could do was shrug and apologise. Still determined to try to food we patiently waited for over an hour, just to see the menu! - technically, lunchtime had been and gone!

Such lovely helpful staff, really make an effort to make your stay a memorable one. Food was beautiful, cocktails were tasty and the beer garden is one of the best in Cardiff. Perfect for a quick stop to grab lunch while in town but they also pull out all the stops for special occasions - absolutely top notch.

Visited lunchtime today to be greeted by a new menu. My favourite burger gone. Needn’t worry though the burger we had was excellent, the new sauces added something extra to my surprise. Still the best burger in cardiff.

Love coming here for food and drinks, been coming for 4/5 years. Recently the food has gone down hill. Two of us had burgers both under-seasoned and overcooked. Very under whelming when you pay £10 for a burger and it's very average. Onion rings were undercooked and soggy.

Staying in hotel close by, out walking and came across this bar. It creates a great first impression. The bar was very clean and is nicely laid out. While it wasn't overly busy when I visited, there was a nice atmosphere. The drinks choice is very good and well priced. The menu is varied and very well priced. I ordered a veggie burger, chips and salad on the side. It was served promptly and tasted really good. The handmade sauces are a great accompaniment, particularly the jalapeno mayonnaise. The service was excellent throughout. I will definitely be back.

Lovely place really good night spoilt by leaking toilets water everywhere and was ignored by the rudest barman I have ever had the misfortune of coming across , he was sarcastic with everyone on my group and very unhelpful. Won't be returning because of him.

What a surprise. Delicious jalapeño burger with homemade fries and a delicious selection of homemade sauces. Bread a little bit dry but the cheese was delicious. Would definitely order this again.

Dragged into this pub/bar/restaurant by my colleagues as it was half price burger day and was pleasantly surprised. The burgers were really tasty and a pint of Red Stripe (on draught) is always good. Don't expect restaurant style dining, more a bar offering good food.

Came here mid week lunchtime - place was empty and cold. Food and coffees were not great, toilets grim, service not great . Will not return with the choices available in Cardiff.

No baby changing facilities.... Pretty shocking really. Also surf and turf burger was a little dry, no extra sauce or cheese to give it moisture.... Spoiled it a little.

Came here after a gruelling half marathon absolutely craving a decent roast dinner. This place did not disappoint! The roast was large enough for what I was craving and absolutely stunning in its flavour! This was exactly what I needed!

I paid £3 entry to get in and got kicked out after a few hours because I lost my phone. (I'd only had a few drinks at this point) I left my phone on the table by accident whilst I went to the bar to get drinks. When I came back it was gone so I thought somebody had taken it. I looked for the location of my phone on my friends phone (my location is on snapmaps) and it looked as though the location had been turned off on my phone so I was worried somebody had actually stolen it. Turns out a random girl I had met that night had taken it and gave it to my friend who forgot to tell me she had my phone. When the bouncers found this out they kicked me out for "making acquisitions" and "wasting their time" despite the fact that I'm sure things like this should be their job considering I didn't know the girl who initially took it off the table? Even one of the bouncers seemed confused as to why I was being kicked out. A bouncer escorted me out and kept pushing me when all I was trying to do was tell my friends I was going as I did not have a problem with leaving I just wanted my friends to know where I was so they wouldn't worry. Even my one friend said it looked like I was being kicked out for having a fight/being rowdy due to him pushing me (I'm a five foot three girl I don't think I need much pushing). I think this is very unreasonable. I'm a regular at buffalo but I think it's safe to say I won't be returning any time soon.

A friend and I made a quick pit stop for a cocktail. The service was lovely we sat outside in the garden in the summer shine and the cocktails were delicious - we had The Elder (gin cocktail). Would go again!

We've had food at Buffalo's about a year ago which was outstanding however our second visit was so disappointing. We ordered the Mushroom and Spinach Falafel burgers which had no taste. The texture was almost rubber like. I love falafel however this tasted nothing like it and I must say that I never complain about food because I'm not a fussy eater. My son ordered the chicken burger but again disappointing, the meat was cold and chicken had a very strange taste to it. Would not visit again.

Visited recently and although the food was fine, we didn't get any parsley sauce with the pulled ham hock as per menu. The beef dinner was tasty but was supposed to come with toad in the hole but all we got was a normal Yorkshire pudding. tried to order desserts from a very limited range only to find the two options we requested were unavailable. Prices reasonable but probably wouldn't go back.

Been visiting Buffalo for years, but never really eaten there - always think of it for it's cocktails and beer garden.Decided to grab some food while there for after work drinks. Went for the Vegetarian stack burger and was really impressed. A friends went for the falafel burger - they enjoyed it but weren't overly impressed.... so I would defiantly go for the stack if you're going meat-free. Cheesy and tasty!Reasonably priced food (although drinks can be a bit pricey). Would definitely consider eating there again.

Went with family for a roast dinner on Sunday and ordered the vegetarian option of butternut squash stuffed with seasonal vegetables, parsnips & broccoli etc and toad in the hole which I was so happy they had on the menu instead of everyone else standard nut roast. I'm sure it would have been good if that's what I got!It was literally half a butternut squash, that was empty! Not stuffed with anything and when I asked the girl behind the bar she said 'oh yeah, I think that just means the parsnips underneath' no toad in the hole as they didn't have any veggie sausages and what I did have was tiny! It was literally half a dinner. The staff took it away and brought it back with some cut up mushroom as the stuffing in the butternut but by then it was cold.Everyone else thought theirs was a small portion and all not hot enough. Sent a pork back and they must have forgotten they'd left it in the microwave as 20 minutes later we had to ask if we could have it back and everything had congealed on the plate.Wish we hadn't bothered, if we hadn't paid at the time of ordering we wouldn't have paid!

Wrote an honest "excellent" review for this place years ago but following my visit last Saturday I fear that my opinion has changed somewhat. My husband and I both had one of the pies on offer (Venison which tasted like Beef ! Chicken + which was very tasty) However the portion sizes were small with my husband having just a few chips and my mash being just a tiny taster. Why do these places scrimp on the cheapest part of the meal ??? Two pie meals and two coffees came to over £25 so not a cheap meal by any means. Will be looking elsewhere in future,

Not knowing Cardiff this was picked for convenience rather than any other reason and it was very quiet at lunchtime. My beef pie was fine and tasty but my colleagues slow cooked short ribs did not live up to the menu listing as they were dry and not very pleasant. Next time I will be looking for somewhere else in Cardiff

I booked Buffalo for a 30th birthday for 10 people which took place the Saturday before Christmas, so naturally was very busy. The menu choices were good (I chose normal buffet but they did offer a la carte and Christmas menu). Drinks choices were good and reasonably priced. Up until the night, they answered all my queries and were happy to accommodate any special requests. On the night, the table was well organised and the food was very good and there was loads of it. Thank you - would definitely recommend for parties.

Now I am not a vegetarian anymore but I always opt for a veggie burger. I decided on a ' build your own' which is a great idea ... If you get what you ordered! We pre-ordered as a medium sized group from work. There was NO cheese in my burger when I had been looking forward to mozzarella & half my chips were hard from undercooking. We had to wait as if we had not pre-ordered at all. The sauces btw are lovely .... If you can decant them that is ! My mushroom & spinach falafel burger was utterly devoid of any flavour , until I managed to finally smother it with hot sauce ( which is mild at best ). Overall , I was disappointed & would not be rushing back to what tries to be some hipster hang out?

When I arrived I was welcomed in by the man and asked if I was OK. When I ordered my hot chocolate was even asked if I wanted it in a China or glass cup. Only down side no whipped cream or Marshmallow for the hot chocolate.

Ordered a pint of peroni which was served flat asked barman to change glass which he did still flat. Tried different glass still flat. I gave up in the end and had a glass of coke instead. Only 3 reasons to have a flat lager. 1. Glass widget is not working. 2 glass is warm I. E just been cleaned. 3 your gas is off.Doesn't take alot to serve a good lager especially at £5 a pint. Tip. If the head of the lager doesn't travel all the way down the glass and leaves a white mark all the way down your serving a poor pint. Customers who care won't return. Train your staff. Get new glasses.

We decided to use Buffalo as the venue for our societies Fresher's social and it worked out perfectly! The staff were amazing at helping us to organise it all with drinks and music and everyone had an amazing time! Highly recommend the B-loyal card for ways to get discounted drinks! All of our Fresher's and returning members loved the night, really great way to kick off this university year!

Buffalo is one of my favourite places to go for a chilled drink and food. My partner and I visited on a Monday when burgers are half price. I had an amazing vegetarian burger with all of the free toppings - and it was absolutely mouth-watering. My partner found his serving a little small, so he ordered another as it was half price! The only fault I could find was the portion of chips could've been a bit bigger. We were served by Lily (blonde lady with dread locks). She was so attentive and lovely - she really made our experience that much better by being so warm and welcoming. She recommended drinks and food, and was extremely friendly and chatty. Overall, a wonderful place to have drinks and food.

Always very crowded, very expensive drinks, takes ages to get served, and the decor isn't even that great. Not sure why it's always so busy as it looks a bit like an old-fashioned house inside. Sometimes there are quiz nights which are good. I've been to a few, but I wouldn't come here just for drinks. It gets way too busy for me. Never really had a good experience here.

We had our works Christmas party here in on 11 December 2015 food was amazing, pumpkin soup never tasted anything like it. Brilliant venue server by fab staff.

This place was recommended to me by friends. That's questionable now. I didn't get it. The burger was very average. It was dry and seemed to have been held warm rather than cooked to order. The service was very average. The venue was very average. The only think that wasn't average was the price. I felt it was over priced for average food and service. Maybe my expectation had been raised too much as it was so highly recommended. Go and try it for yourself...

I arranged a leaving party for a friend and from first contact I had outstanding service. The email was answered promptly and booking a table was hassle free. I even managed to arrange a cake to be dropped off on the day and this was no hassle. On the night another party sat in our reserved area and staff moved them swiftly and offered us all a complimentary drink. They could not have served us any better-promptly and efficiently. They checked on us regularly and ensured we were happy. One of the girls had the lobster salad, which was too hot, so they offered her an alternative and another complementary drink. They brought out the cake and even served it for us. The staff worked above and beyond and we loved the ambience. A fabulous place and we felt the staff ticked all the boxes. Thank you for making our night!

We came to buffalo's yesterday for my aunties hen do. The food was delicious and no complaints from anyone. We also did the cocktail masterclass which is an absolute bargain for the experience you get. The girls who gave us the class were fantastic! They made it so much fun, were enthusiastic and just added so much more to it just being about making cocktails. All the staff were friendly and made my auntie and the rest of us feel really special. Thanks for a great day guys - would highly recommend!

We went to see Novo Amour last night (8th July) which is very chilled and relaxing music. The gig was held upstairs where they have a second bar and a stage set up. The first problem is, the space upstairs is in the shape of a 'P' - so the stage is at the widest end of the room and the bar at the narrowest so unless you're waiting all evening at the front of the stage ready to see the band you came for then it's very difficult to see anything as your actually around the corner! There is a big mirror on one of the walls so I thought if they could move that on the opposite wall and place it high up and landscape then at least people around the corner can see the stage in the mirror.Second problem, not enough staff on the bar and the people who were working that night had no energy or urgency about getting the drinks done and having everyone served quickly. That's frustrating when we've all come to see the gig and not spend half our time watching the staff take shots, chat and just seem too relaxed for the type of night that it was. They were friendly however the service was too slow.It's very much a student place to go so even though the gig was a relaxing one, most of the room talked the whole way through it. It was very hot upstairs and the whole place is sticky. Toilets are shoddy with the toilet seats hanging off, taps are not fixed properly and the locks have taken a battering (there was toilet roll though and the dryer worked), tables weren't wiped down, smoking area could be better designed for high capacity. I know this is the 'standard' for a bar on a Friday but the decor and concept is great and the cocktails looked brilliant and the staff are nice, so why not just try and keep a better standard in service and cleanliness?I won't be going back.

My friends and I visited on Sunday evening 26th initially a pleasant bar and surroundings First time to this Venus I went to bar . Ordered drinks and asked to their accept contactless . Bar man . Replied "no". I asked "can we open a tab?" He replied "we do tabs, but not after 7pm". What how many places in Cardiff that don't accept contactless in this day ? Fortunately my friend had money on them We ordered food I ordered open wrap vegan wrap this was pleasant My friend ordered ribs, and chips My husband ordered burger and chips.Both my husband and friends chips were stone cold. The ribs were dry .We advised staff member and they didn't apologise they however said they would replace them in the interim I had eaten my food . The chips not sign of them 20 mins later they turned up. They were disgusting and you could smell the chip fat and there was a parsnip in the chips We spoke to bar men who offered us the price of the chips back. We were extremely disappointed !
