All I can say about this restaurant is wow, and I mean absolute wow, both my wife and I had a stunning starter and main course the service was second to none, the timing of the food was very well paced in between courses , the staff were polite, and the food was exquisitely delicious, our compliments to the chef, and thank you to all the staff, thank you for a lovely meal, service and atmosphere.

Dissapointed to find the waitress service not very friendly considering our waitress was of a senior age. We ordered a sharing camembert and main courses. Unfortunately we received a different starter which we advised. At no point was there any sign of remorse shown or an apology for the mistake We eventually received our starter which was removed quickly and replaced immediately with our mains,which suggested they were kept hot and not freshly repaired. It was made painfully obvious that they wanted us to eat up and go! Considering the problem was not any fault of ours and the attitude we were glad to go!! We had booked to celebrate our 54th wedding anniversary,needless to say it will be remembered for the w.rong reasons.

We recently had the pleasure of dining here and the experience was absolutely delightful.The friendly and attentive staff made us feel right at home. The service was top-notch, with the servers being knowledgeable about the menu. The menus offered a wide range of great options that catered to all tastes. I was impressed by the quality and presentation of each dish that arrived at our table. The flavors were exceptional, and every bite was delicious. Simply the best beetroot & pumpkin arracini! The ambiance of the pub was also worth mentioning. It had a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a casual get-together or a relaxed evening out. Whether you're looking for a place to unwind after a long day or celebrate a special occasion like we did for a birthday meal this pub is the ideal choice. Overall, I highly recommend this pub for its delicious food, excellent service, and warm ambiance. I will definitely be back and might tempt myself to a dessert next time!

Close to the main road, easy to access with good parking, inside a welcoming interior reflects both traditional and yet modern ambience. A traditional menu of hearty warming dishes. Friendly and attentive service.

I had been in the forest walking with my friends and we had booked a table for later. At the last minute they changed our table to a dog friendly to allow my friend to bring her dog. We had a warm welcome from Ben Morgan who looked after us for the evening. The food was delious and the service was great.

Turned up last minute on a Saturday night and the manager Ben kept the kitchen open to make me food and it made my Saturday night! Incredible burger, loads of chips, excellent service. Can't recommend enough

Just here for a couple of days and thought we would try this restaurant. Absolutely loved it. The service was excellent the food equally so. When you add to this the very pleasant atmosphere and staff what isn't to like. Special shout out for Hannah, who was so superb in her attitude and eagerness to provide a great service. She really made our night a special occasion. Thank you.

From the moment we stepped into the Restaurant, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for a truly remarkable dining experience. The service was nothing short of excellent, with team that were attentive, efficient, and genuinely caring about our needs and comfort throughout our visit. The highlight of our visit, without a doubt, was the fantastic Sunday roast, it was perfectly cooked, seasoned to perfection, and accompanied by a selection of sides that complemented the main dish beautifully. Adding to the overall charm of the afternoon was the wonderful ambiance of the restaurant. The surprise that won our hearts of our younger guests was the Easter hunt with a prize being a special chocolate treat from the Manager. This thoughtful gesture not only made the day memorable for the children but also allowed the adults to relax. Thank you, for a wonderful Easter treat

Not been a good few years. Went Easter Sunday with family and dog. All welcome especially the dog. They have a dog menu and she had a great steak and mash with gravy. Fantastic addition to have. Food was great and plenty of it. Will visit again. Thanks to all staff

Ceri at the Castell Mynach was fantastic! The service was great, and they made our dining experience truly enjoyable. Ceri's friendly attitude was gratefully received. I highly recommend the Castell Mynach and if you get Ceri as your server, you will have an enjoyable experience.

Food is usually pretty good, but seems to be a good 40m wait before it arrives.

I booked a table for 2 in the dining room for 7.15 on Friday 22nd March, we arrived early we're told to get a drink as our table wasn't ready as we were 10 minutes early, a waitress them told us there was a table we could sit at I'm the dog friendly area, 30 minutes later my husband had to ask if we were going to get served, our orders were taken and we were told we would get express service, our starters arrived 20 minutes later, mine was more like pork scratchings than calamari ! 20 minutes later we were still waiting on our main course ! We went to the bar and asked for our bill, told the barman about our dreadful experience, he charged us for just the wine as an apology!! Under staffed, disorganised and over crowded, ambiance more like a nightclub than a restaurant, we will keep travelling to St Fagans and visiting the lovely Plymouth Arms !!

Had fish cakes and pate to start and my husband had sticky chicken and fish and chips. It was delicious. Service was good too. Nice place not cheap.

Mediocre food. Terrible service. We had to go and ask for service as the waitress had no interest in serving us. You specify wifi as available but the connection was so flaky and intermittent it was useless.

Not good service. Food was awful butter milk chicken was deep fried , stake and wine pie tasted and smelt off, znd not much filling. Drinks were fine

I recently visit the castle Munich and it was amazing the staff are so friendly and the food was amazing we was served by a lady called Jane what a lovely lady she was! There was also a lady called Lorraine and nothing. Was to much to ask I recommend this place to all my friends and family, what a fabulous place you have! We can’t wait to visit again Thankyou again for making our visit so lovely!

Fast friendly service in spite of been really busy and good wholesome food.

On arrival we were around 15mins early. We had a booking for 2.30pm for the Mother’s Day menu. We stood waiting at the desk to which the manager and a member of staff were talking. We weren’t acknowledged until a man asked us if we had been spoken to which I replied no. He asked if we had a booking which I said yes 2.30 our table wasn’t ready which we were happy to take a seat and have a drink at the bar knowing we were early to which his reply was if you can find a seat. He could see we were with my 82 year old grandmother and it was only 3 of us so I took it on my self to ask a couple if the seat next to them were free to which they were! Next I went to the bar to get 1 bottle of Prosecco and a Diet Coke to be told all the rose Prosecco had been bought the previous Monday and the bottle she had opened was a few days old fine for cocktails she said but not a glass of Prosecco to then comment she sold pink moet but it was very expensive in front of other customers!! How did she know if I would be able to afford this or not!! I told the white Prosecco instead and didn’t want to cause a fuss but at this point I really wasn’t happy with this service!! Once seated at a table the lady taking our food orders was lovely very calming and helpful! Starters came it was lovely my self and my nan ordered the steak from the Mother’s Day menu it was inedible! It wasn’t cooked how we asked very chewy to which my poor nan had to use her fingers to try and have smaller pieces of the meat. It got to the point where I said to my nan no more now I’m telling the lady so the manager came over and said she was sorry and what steak was it I said the one on the Mother’s Day menu she said ohh yes the rib eye is the most chewy and grisly steak even so it was inedible! I told her I usually eat fillet so I knew my meats! She offered us dessert on her my nan had the crumble my mum and I had a cocktail by this point I had enough We always use the Plymouth arms in st fagans and it’s always so lovely there food is great and manager is so lovely we won’t be going back to the Castell Mynach

Absolutely gorgeous food! Plenty of choices,very tasty,posh & well presented! Really lovely place to be.cosy atmosphere friendly staff & customers. On the downside... Ordering took a while each time,but once order was taken,the food & drinks arrived quickly. We did book days in advance. Only 4 of us,but the table wasn't ready so had a little wait. They may need more staff to take orders? or the current staff need to be quicker.? Overall though .the friendliness of the staff,the high quality & speed of the food ,the whole place & atmosphere feeling warm,cosy & accommodating FAR over powered the negatives.

I like this pub. Friendly and convenient for family meet up. But really disappointing food. I would definitely stop by for a drink or coffee. But I am not sure I would eat there again.

20 members of our family had a fantastic lunch on 2nd March. All pre-ordered and served altogether and piping hot. The staff were fabulous. It was a last minute booking and they went out of their way to accommodate us. Thank you all

My sister and I took our mum here for an early mother's day lunch. So pleased we did. Menu choice was great and we were more than happy with what we chose.The sea bass was cooked to perfection and the aubergine vegetarian bake was very tasty ( a plentiful serving). The waitress who served us is an asset to the restaurant, as was extremely helpful and patient with my sister who is vegetarian and has a few food intolerances and rarely eats out. The honeypot dessert is highly recommended too..a special treat! We will start using Castell mynach for forthcoming family meals - can highly recommend.

We had an amazing Sunday lunch here. The food was hot and extremely delicious. The staff were very friendly helpful and attentive. We sat in the dog friendly area and it was very friendly. Cannot wait to return.

Reserved a table on the day. I was 10 mins late arriving due to traffic which wasn't a problem at all. Had a 2 course meal. The lasagne and chips with ciabbatta bread was lovely. I did ask for a side of onion rings which is a shame that they do not serve although the portion was big enough as it was. The Honey Pot was beautiful amd perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth. The toilets were clean and very well kept and the establishment was very cosy. Staff were lovely and wete very hospitable. Overall service was quick and had a lovely experience on this day. Thank you!!

Fabulous lunch on Sat 24th Feb 24. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Nothing too much trouble. Food was served on time and hot. Thank you to Jane and Chloe for making our visit an experience to remember and thank you for joining in the singing of Happy Birthday to me Dad. Highly recommend.

Brilliant pub. Very dog friendly. Bought water bowl and dog biscuits to us and allowed our two dachshunds to sit on the sears with us during the meal. We did place them on our blanket. We had a sunday roast and the food was lovely. Sum it up....Great food, dog friendly and lovely staff. Well done.

On arrival it was t clear where the restaurant area was, however, we did find it quickly. The pub was well presented clean and tidy. One server was so lovely, she had a Bob whitish blond hair. Went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. All food coming out of the kitchen looked really appetising. We were pleased with the service from the lady with the Bob and we would come back again. We ordered from the lunch menu which was 15.95 for 2 courses

Pub atmosphere and decor was lovely. The food we had (main meals) was also delicious. What spoiled our visit was we had planned to have desserts and coffees. We asked for dessert menus at 1.15pm, and then at 1.30 I got up and went and got some from the desk at the front having chased and still not seen them. At 1.50pm, having chased twice to place our dessert order someone finally came but as we had to leave at 2pm (had tickets for a local attraction) we then had to just pay and leave …. with an upset 7 year old that had been promised dessert for eating all his main meal. No apology from the staff. They also brought the bill and left us waiting to pay as they didn’t explain we would need to take it to the bar to pay. Edited to add this was lunchtime Sat 17th Feb.

My choice of mains was lovely. My wife was not so impressed with her skinny fries. the waitress was next to useless, and I had to keep reminding her for drinks, condiments, etc. No effort to ask if we needed anything or if the food was OK. Very disappointing

Brought the wife here for Valentine's night. The restaurant was made up great with lovely little touches the staff were great the food was good. It was very busy. But the host/manager had it all under control like Fred sirieix with pink hair

This is a great place to eat, food is excellent and service was first rate. It is also dog friendly, they even have a dog menu. We popped in for an evening meal and will definitely be back. I would highly recommend a visit.

Wonderful evening at the Castell Mynach, staff friendly, my friend had the ribeye Steak with peppercorn sauce and i had the signature burger which has cheese sauce and brisket and maple sauce. Delicious 😋

Visited here last week after a business trip to Paris, the steak here beat everymeal I had in Paris that week, the atmosphere was great and the staff super friendly, moral of the story ....don't go to Paris , come to Castell Mynach

So glad we finally visited Castell Mynach as the food was absolutely stunning. Beautifully cooked mains of steak and lamb and the starters were perfection. And reasonably priced especially for Valentine’s Day. Lovely friendly staff, Lola the barmaid was friendly and hats off to the chefs Ben and Matt. We will be back.

I had lunch yesterday at the Castell Mynach and was delighted with how dog friendly they were. My dog was made very welcome (as were me and my friend!) - My dog had lots of treat and the staff all made a fuss of her which she loved. If you've got a dog don't think twice about going here - just let them know in advance that you have a dog so they can seat you in the doggy area! Thanks to the staff for a warm welcome and great service!

Lovely Sunday lunch! We thoroughly enjoyed spending the afternoon here, from the relaxed atmosphere to the delicious food! A big thank you to Ceri who made our experience so enjoyable! We will be back soon.

Great little find new to the area so will be using this one lots more. Place is great food good staff but what really made its special was the Irish lady I believe good be the manager so friendly give us lots of tip to do and see even give our dog some water. Thanks you and see you again soon
