Garbo's Cafe Bar

St. Thomas, Swansea
17/04/2019: Been to Diablos SA1 half a dozen times and the breakfast is always brilliant! Good service, quality ingredients and cooked perfectly. If you've been once, it's hard to resist!
15/04/2019: I don’t give out many five star ratings, I believe, rarely is anything perfect and there is always room for improvement. In the case of Diablos, yes there is room for improvement, which we will come to in a moment.

Beales Fish and Chip Restaurant

Porthcawl East Central, Bridgend
13/04/2019: the cod is always lovely and fresh and i would love to eat here more often but sadly can't afford to.
31/03/2019: Six of us arrived after me singing the praises of Beales. Was busy as normal but a table for us all was soon found. The Cod and Chips was delicious as were the rest of the meals, Scamp, Meat pie and really high praises from those that had the faggots. Yes it get's busy but it is well worth the wait.

The Clink Restaurant

Adamsdown, Cardiff, 20-30£
15/04/2019: Easy to book - deposit required. Good choice of 4 x options for each of 3 courses - set price. Very courteous staff.
15/04/2019: The Clink has great reputation, and it exceeded my high expectations. The food is fine dining without being pretentious. I was a bit suspect on portion sizes in the first two courses, but it left room for the very generous main. I didn't miss alcoholic drinks as the mocktails were amazing. The waiting staff were attentive without being overbearing, and they were very friendly. Can't wait to return!

The Whitebrook Restaurant

Trellech United, Monmouthshire
14/04/2019: What a fantastic lunch with fine welsh wine, great service off Lazarus, and rather good value relatively for a star’d restaurant. Had fish then lamb, highly recommended and good visit again soonest
14/04/2019: To be a successful Michelin restaurant so far off the beaten track is an indication of the quality of the Whitebrook.

The Goytre Arms

Goetre Fawr, Monmouthshire
18/04/2019: Moored the barge on the canal & a short 10 minute walk takes you to this lovely pub. I had the Goytre chicken. Really enjoyed the food & ambience. The service was very good & very friendly staff. Would recommend you try this pub.
18/04/2019: Friendly staff, food reasonable and always delicious, very modern and clean

The Brit Pub

Bryn and Cwmavon, Neath Port Talbot, 20-30£
18/04/2019: Well worth a visit beautiful area and beer garden alongside the river Afan. Food fantastic and the attention to detail is superb also a service with a smile.
16/04/2019: This pub is really well decorated throughout and the staff were absolutely lovely. I’m not used to having a choice of vegan options and I will definitely be back when I’m in the area

Sketty, Swansea
16/04/2019: Not the greatest value for money restaurant, however, good customer service and great environment to eat in.
13/04/2019: Visited for the second time on mothers day for dinner. Didnt disappoint. Food was amazing and faultless. Staff are so lovely and welcoming. Overall really enjoyable experience yet again. We had one meat and one vegetarian 6 course tasting menu and both were amazing.

The Mermaid Cafe Bar & Restaurant

Oystermouth, Swansea
12/04/2019: Good food, reasonable prices, friendly staff. May need to make a reservation as it can get quite busy. Dog friendly area.
11/04/2019: We were a party of four and had a great welcome, and really good meals ..and desserts! Nothing too much trouble.

The Crown

Mardy, Monmouthshire
13/04/2019: Superb food, excellent service couldn't have made us feel more welcome. It was certainly Mitcelin star quality the chicken Breast, fish soup and the desserts was very tasty could not fault it
12/04/2019: A brief lunch stop prior to business meting, had pork & apple sandwich, which was the nicest sarnie I have had in a very long time, & a pint of bass. Excellent speedy service, especially as we were sat outside enjoying the spring sunshine (pub restaurant looked like it was full), a fantastic view across the valley from the front garden was very much enjoyed, fantastic range of beers, t(he bass was lovely). whilst the food wasn't the cheapest (sarnie was £6 I think) the superb quality certainly indicated why and I've no complaints at all - so much so I will definitely revist. I can't comment on the rest of the menu but the choice looked fantastic.

Cafe du chat noir ltd

Cathays, Cardiff
13/04/2019: We had an amazing lunch here. The tartiflette was gorgeous and went well with the house red wine. Considering the size of the kitchen the chef works miracles.
25/03/2019: Visited this cute little cafe and was impressed by the excellent food and first class service . If thinking of dropping in, don't hesitate, this gem will be your new local!

The Gate

Llanyrafon South, Torfaen
18/04/2019: A big family celebration was perfect, excellent food and excellent service and very reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again perhaps lunch time on the next visit!
17/04/2019: First visit to The Gate it certainly won't be the last. Lunchtime menu tasty food, varied selection and amazing value.

The Raglan Arms

Raglan, Monmouthshire
13/04/2019: A bit off the beaten track but well worth visiting if you're in the Usk/Abergavenny area. Very attractive restaurant, great service and an excellent meal.
10/04/2019: Ate here whilst on a short break in the local area. Was quiet due to being out of season and midweek. However it still had a lovely atmosphere.

The Front Room

Oystermouth, Swansea
19/04/2019: Very cute and cosy little cafe which keeps the menu down to a sensible short selection and concentrates on getting those comfort food options right - but there are enough eyecatching options to mark it out as somewhere a little different.
16/04/2019: We popped in for a coffee this cafe being the first one we saw that dogs were welcome. The dog was welcomed with a bowl of water and a dog biscuit, which he enjoyed after his walk. We had coffee and a cream tea since we were inbewteen breakfast and lunch but looking at the menu will definitely return to sample more food.

Usk Garden Centre

Usk, Monmouthshire
14/04/2019: Wow!!! Just a few lines to say thank you to Katie and the staff at Morris's Restaurant for a fantastic Sunday Lunch today. 16 of us were booked into the "Garden Room" for a birthday lunch with the family and we all had a terrific time.
12/04/2019: Visited here today with my son and dog. Was told that unfortunately dogs weren't allowed as it was an open kitchen but the owner invited us to sit outside and, as there was drilling and work beibg carried out outside, he asked the workmen to stop and clean up whilst we ate. The food was beautiful and the service could not have been better!

The Polkadot Teapot

Llantrisant Town, Rhondda Cynon Taf
13/04/2019: My 2 daughters took me here for afternoon tea just before Mothering Sunday. The sandwiches and scones were lovely. The cakes were fabulous and enough to take back home as we were so full.
