Penceunant Isaf Tea Rooms

Llanberis, Gwynedd
02/06/2019: Thoroughly recommend a trip to this beautiful little cafe. We visited following a recommendation from the visitor guide in our holiday accommodation in Llamberris and it didn’t disappoint. We took UNO with us to play with our 5 year old whilst we enjoyed a drink and some cake but Stefan was quick to pull out a game of ‘Beat the Box’. None of us had played before so Stefan showed us how and made our visit even more special. Unfortunately we visited towards the end of our trip to Llamberris so we didn’t get to go again but we hope to be back in the future! Go and enjoy :)
01/06/2019: Absolutely brilliant place , Stefan is such a friendly guy, great coffee and cake, great place to end our trip up Snowdon, would definitely recommend.

On the Hill

Ruthin, Denbighshire
13/06/2019: The best meal I've ever had. I eat out a lot and I'm getting fed up of paying a lot for average food and poor service. Such a refreshing change to go somewhere that cares about the customer experience. Can't wait to go back.
13/06/2019: Well, I just can't praise this restaurant enough, from the staff to the food and price, omg I loved it.

Yr Hen Fecws Restaurant

Porthmadog West, Gwynedd, 30-45£
03/06/2019: My mother, son & I visited on my birthday last Friday for the very first time after many years of coming to Porthmadog. I can’t believe we waited so long. The meals were superb and staff very welcoming & warm. The menu had so much to choose from that I couldn’t decide & asked the friendly female waitress who recommended the duck to start with, which I have to admit was absolutely delicious & I then chose the lamb for the main course, again superb. Mum and son both thoroughly enjoyed their meals too. I look forward to my next visit & most definitely won’t wait so long. Highly recommended.
26/05/2019: We had a lovely meal on a Friday evening, restaurant was busy but the staff did not hurry us at all. All the courses tasted superb and were well presented in a modern style. The restaurant is well decorated and the staff are attentive. Every course was excellent and we would definitely visit the restaurant again when in the area.

Y Sgwar

Porthmadog-Tremadog, Gwynedd
03/06/2019: This was the first time we've been to Y Sqwar since it's refurbishment. We had two friends visiting from Ireland and they wanted to treat us.... and what a treat!
03/06/2019: Wow! This place was truly a highlight on our one week tour of Wales! I enjoyed the delicious duck and my partner had the lamb shoulder. The lamb melted in your mouth and the duck was cooked to perfection with a crispy skin. Absolutely amazing meal and the service was outstanding. Cannot say enough good things about this gem!

The Looking Glass Ice Cream Parlour

Gogarth, Conwy
01/06/2019: I haven't had an ice cream float since my childhood but when l saw this little ice cream parlour l couldn't resist having one. I could have had any combination of home made ice cream and soft drink. I chose strawberry and banana ice cream with lemonade. It came in an old jam jar and was really very refreshing and definitely quenched my thirst. The shop is located in the town centre and very close to the promenade. There are many flavours to choose from as well.
28/05/2019: We visited here after having our dinner further down the road, the choice of different flavours makes it so hard to choose from but eventually had the jaffa cake and golden oreo, unlike some places we have been the flavours are very nice and not artificial at all, very clean and friendly staff would highly recommend will be back :-)

Signatures Restaurant

Conwy, Conwy, 30-45£
12/06/2019: Always wanted to try the restaurant on our visits back to see family in Conwy and took the opportunity at half term to take my wife’s mother, sister and brother-in-law as a treat. We were not disappointed. The staff were very attentive and everyone enjoyed their meals. The fillet steak was excellent. Not the cheapest but it did feel very special.
07/06/2019: After being highly recommended by wonderful local hotel, we thought it would be amazing.....NOT....

The Berwyn Restaurant

Llandrillo, Denbighshire, 20-30£
31/05/2019: We attended the Berwyn Restaurant in Llandrillo, Denbighshire, last night to celebrate my daughter's birthday and the birthday of a close family friend, six people in total. The menu provided great choice for all three courses, and I plumped for the belly pork as a starter and a duck meal as my main course. All the meals ordered came to the table in good time, correct and piping hot. Personally, I found the belly pork starter fantastic, melting in my mouth. It was simply devine. My duck was cooked to perfection and seemed endless in quantity. The accompanying vegetables were very hot and there was more than enough to go round, with it being replenished on request. The desserts had by the younger party members were beautiful and plentiful in choice. Debbie and Ivor have nailed it when it comes to atmosphere and food available, but where they really stand out is how they treat you and look after all your needs. Simply,.they make you feel special,.and go that much further to make your visit a memorable one. Fantastic evening and stunning value for money........thank you.
31/05/2019: We chose the Berwyn Restaurant for our anniversary celebration with family once again our evening was wonderful. As always Debbie was superb with her hospitality The choice of food not only in the menu but also on the specials board as always was fabulous it takes so long to make our minds up as we are always spoilt for choice The food cooked by Ivor was delicious The atmosphere is always relaxing and friendly once again I cannot think of a better place to eat in North Wales or anywhere else its not just the food that is great its the whole package

The Crown

Aberffraw,Rhosneigr, Isle of Anglesey, >100£
31/05/2019: Really pleasant staff, good selection of ales and a very nice rear beer garden & Dog friendly also. Just off the main road an ideal stop off after a walk or day on the beach 👍
30/05/2019: First time visitor to Anglesey and started looking for something to eat in Holyhead; waste of time. Followed Tripadvisor to this little gem of a pub. What a delight. Busy with food still at 8pm on a weeknight (good indicator), despite which they still managed to find me a table. I’m always drawn to a good steak and ale pie and theirs did not disappoint. The photo says it all and honestly I didn’t have any room left for a pudding. (Particularly frustrating as I had seen another table’s brownie with ice cream which looked Devine!) Portion size good without being too big. Food quality, excellent. Service, fabulous, swift, courteous, efficient. Thank you to all who served me, I look forward to coming again!

Dylanwad Da

Dolgellau North, Gwynedd
30/05/2019: A wonderful lunch a very interesting choice of food, with great wine. Fabulous staff. A must go place in town
05/05/2019: This is billed as a wine bar and shop - it has a fantastic cellar beneath for those wishing to purchase bottles - but really it’s much more. We originally popped in looking for somewhere to have a late afternoon coffee, and found that it did light bites to eat and served all kinds of spirits in addition to wines. We liked it so much that we went back after dinner, when I was able to choose from a list of really interesting gins. I chose a Welsh distillery I had never heard of which turns out to be local to me - I found the gin very different to anything I’ve previously tasted. We had a long chat with the owner about small craft distilleries and he suggested other Welsh gins we might like to try and even gave us advice on visiting distilleries. Very friendly and laid back, if we were back in the area I would definitely make it my business to return.

Snooze

Gogarth, Conwy
02/06/2019: Hi! Been to snooze tonight with my family and we had a very cold welcoming by the elderly man who works there, I thought I was in the wrong place, that's the way he made me feel, no hi, nothing, just stared at me,so I asked him if he knows we booked a table for 5. The younger waiter on the other hand was really nice and helpful. Maybe the elderly man wasn't too happy that we were with kids, but when I booked a table I mentioned it and we came at 4pm because I had been told that children weren't allowed after 6pm. Anyway that was the only downside other than that the food was good, but that man ruined it even when he served us, there was no asking who's having what just basically threw it on the table, no bon appetit, super rude!!!
02/06/2019: We popped in for a drink on our way out to dinner we had booked into the no1 place on trip advisor for our meal but when I went into here I was tempted to stay lovely modern stylish and clean very nice atmosphere and bar staff were really friendly on our next visit we most definitely will book to have an evening meal and will look forward to it. I had a lovely glass of Chardonnay and there was a good selection of drinks on offer.

Gogarth, Conwy, <20£
31/05/2019: We were in town for 2 nights and ate there both nights. We ate early so we’re lucky to get a table...make a reservation if you can. The food was exactly as advertised...home cooking comfort food. And the best cheese cake I have had in a long time
30/05/2019: Have been before and the food is really home cooking! Had the roast lamb , tender and plenty of it , nice veg and potatoes but why no Yorkshire with the lamb but given with the beef and turkey? Husband had the chicken curry again he loves it and won’t try anything else now.

Sosban and The Old Butchers Restaurant

Cadnant, Isle of Anglesey
17/04/2019: A truly lovely meal. I have been lucky enough to have eaten out all over the country for 50 years and this was the finest gastronomic experience to date in Wales. Eight courses, every one superb. No need for advice. Admire the food briefly and then enjoy it. The Pinna Fidelis red wine from the Ribera del Doura was exceptionally good. Service was attentive and helpful.
07/04/2019: We have been lucky enough to get a table several times as Sosban and never been disappointed.

Black Lion

Corris/Mawddwy, Gwynedd
14/06/2019: This was my first , beautiful old pud, very traditional, fire going,I enjoyed a nice pint, may have been two, I dicided on the classic homemade burger which when delivered stood a foot high, great onion rings and fantastic chips, just left a little room for pudding, shared pudding, all very nice, staff very professional, food great, would I return? Without a doubt, thank you team for a lovely evening, well done
12/06/2019: i went to the black lion for a christmas meal last december, and really enjoyed my meal and the surroundings.there was a group of 12 or so of us and we were well looked after.the meal itself ranged from the traditional turkey with all the trimmings and other choices ranging from beef to vegetarian options.i ordered the beef wellington.it was a very nice meal.i did not enjoy the cheese board as much however, but it was ok.we also pre-ordered so it was easier for us and the owners of the pub.i would recommend anyone to go and try this lovely little old pub.

Bwyty Mawddach Restaurant

Brithdir and Llanfachreth/Ganllwyd/Llanelltyd, Gwynedd
02/06/2019: After walking in the hills for a few miles we stumbled across this restaurant and what a treat. We sadly didn’t have time to eat so had drinks only but the manager was extremely welcoming and the views from the building are superb. The restaurant upstairs seemed full, would definitely recommend and revisit next time around.
30/05/2019: We had a table for 14 people to celebrate 2 big birthdays. The service food and wine were wonderful. The views over the river are amazing
