Penceunant Isaf Tea Rooms

Llanberis, Gwynedd
22/03/2020: We went up to Snowdon on a cloudy day. On the way down it started raining and we we soaking wet by the time we arrived back at the bottom. But then we saw this cafe and where super happy we stopped. There is a fire place to warm up and the hosts including Stephen were just so kind and welcoming. It was a wonderful end to our hike and we could't imagine a better place to end it. Stephen also helped us with transport and offered some Birra Birth. Really lovely place so make sure you say hi to the gents!
20/03/2020: We stopped by for a cup of tea on our way down the Llanberis path from Snowdon - it had been high winds and snowy towards to top so we needed a warm up - and we got one! A really lovely, warm welcome, decent prices, and plenty of advice and recommendations on what we could go on to do in the area. It really was a very happy accident for us, wandering in!

13/03/2020: Situated on the square at Tremadog. Dined here while staying at Plas Tan. Excellent food in comfortable surroundings with good atmosphere and friendly staff. Not cheap but good value for top quality food and service. Would definitely return if staying in the locality in future.

Signatures Restaurant

Conwy, Conwy, 30-45£
25/03/2020: Had a wonderful meal here recently, staff were helpful even thought it was a busy time when we went. Food was just excellent, well cooked and a lovely choice of dishes. If I had one criticism it would be the closeness of the bench seat tables, just not possible to have a quiet table for two in those circumstances. It wouldn't stop me going again, I would just request a separate table.
08/03/2020: Lovely experience, from the greeting at the door to the coffee at the end of our meal. A first visit for myself, but certainly not the last. Well done keep up the good work. Probably best food around here!

On the Hill

Ruthin, Denbighshire
29/03/2020: We live in Manchester but have been here three times now as it is absolutely amazing! The lunch set menu is incredible value for the quality of the food. My boyfriends favourite pie ever (a tall order) was served here. He has tried both the venison and beef pies and says they are both delicious! I don’t like black pudding usually but love the starter here with the crispy egg. I normally have fish and it is excellent. Beautifully presented, great staff, fantastic flavours, excellent value, what’s not to love!
17/03/2020: Myself, wife and my in laws visited on 14.03.20 Food was stunning and service was excellent One of our favourite restaurants and would highly recommend Thank you our evening was brilliant Michael and,Suzie

Yr Hen Fecws Restaurant

Porthmadog West, Gwynedd, 30-45£
16/03/2020: We’ve been twice this month - we’ll be back again soon. Lovely, friendly staff, a very pleasant dining room and good food at very reasonable prices.
02/03/2020: We dined here without a reservation on a busy Thursday night. The lady who greeted us (who I think was probably the proprietor) was concerned on our arrival that we may be waiting a long time as the restaurant was really full and was keen to make us aware before we were seated. We weren’t in a rush so said we’d go with the flow.In the end I didn’t feel that the food took too long at all and it was really very good. They did a cracking gin and tonic too. The service was absolutely superb and the place has a really high class feel about it. For the quality, I didn’t think it was overpriced either.

Caffi Hen Felin

Arllechwedd, Gwynedd
08/03/2020: Lovely cafe, clean, with tasty food and dog friendly. Was handy to visit before walking up to Aber Falls
05/03/2020: Lovely friendly cafe with great breakfast/lunch options. Everything looks homemade with big portions. The cakes look great too. They have a proper coffee machine. I had the cheese scone with poached egg and mushrooms it was to die for! The soup looked good as did the Welsh rarebit. This cafe seems to be open all year and has a toilet anyone can use even if you are not a customer. What a brilliant place.

Pete's Burger Bar

Valley, Isle of Anglesey
05/06/2020: Sorry to hear the unfair news your having to move on, you will be missed Your generous portions are well known, I hope you find a new home to continue
07/03/2020: We've been going to Pete's since we moved to Anglesey two years ago and the food has never disappointed. The burgers are great, so are the huge hotdogs and as for the bellybuster - that's two meals in one! Always freshly cooked, with onions cooked to perfection, too. The hot chocolate is fabulous on a cold day and there's always service with a smile.

Gogarth, Conwy
16/03/2020: We visited here previously so were excited to be back again. We were not disappointed. Food was excellent. Wine was perfect and staff were great, very friendly and welcoming. We also booked a room and this was excellent too. Will definitely be back.
15/03/2020: From the friendly welcome, service and quality of the food. All excellent My only slight moan, the toilets were rather cold and then I couldn’t warm up again when I returned to the table. Overall pleased to say will definitely recommend

The Berwyn Restaurant

Llandrillo, Denbighshire, 20-30£
12/03/2020: Visited tonight (Thursday) Owners are really friendly and the food was lovely. This is well worth a visit.
22/02/2020: Visited for our evening meal on Thursday. A mixed aged party of 9 people. Plenty of choice, excellent food and reasonable prices. Well worth a visit.

Bala,Llanuwchllyn, Gwynedd
18/03/2020: This gem of a place is just fab! Very friendly staff, cosy bar with fire, very comfortable spacious restaurant, great food, fabulous room, the list goes on! Our dog got an awesome bag of goodies on arrival, toys, treats, practical, useful items, we got free wine, sweets, absolutely everything we needed inc hot drinks, lovely toiletries, a personal parking space. All at good value. Staff go above and beyond, they didn’t have decaf tea so they went out and got some within minutes of asking. Huge very comfy bed, adjustable bed reading light, good location. Would definitely recommend it. Well done and thanks very much to a fab team from 3 very happy customers
06/03/2020: Whilst visiting and staying in Bala, myself and my partner wanted to have a nice Sunday dinner after out walk. We read some reviews on this place and decided to give it a try, so glad we did! The dinner was lovely, the lamb fell apart, roast potatoes were crispy but fluffy, seasonal vegetables were cooked perfectly with still a little crunch, the gravy was beautiful and full of flavour and oh my.... the best Yorkshire pudding I've ever eaten out.... big but light and perfectly crispy! We even squeezed in a pudding as we were so impressed with the main meal and again this didnt disappoint! You must visit this lovely place and have some food if you're visiting or passing Bala. Friendly and attentive staff also!

Restaurant at the Hotel Portmeirion

Penrhyndeudraeth, Gwynedd, >100£
15/03/2020: For various reasons this afternoon tea had been booked and cancelled several times. The voucher had actually expired but Ashley the manager had extended it. Nothing was too much trouble. The actual tea was lovely, and we have had afternoon tea all over the world . The view was amazing. Everyone at portmerion made our visit special. The food was lovely. Thank you portmerion for a really lovely day out on a miserable March day.
10/03/2020: Loved all of it, the rest of the family loved it too☺impressed that they could accomodate a dairy-free diet for my daughter in law, without any problem

Betws-y-Coed, Conwy, <20£
24/04/2020: Good quality ingredients, original take on tapas. Price high for basic ingredients and small number of portions. Very good craft beer selection. Delicious brownie but again overpriced. Very friendly lady whom I assume is the owner.
07/04/2020: My partner and I had tapas at Olif on Friday 6 March 2020. The waitress with the long hair was just lovely ! The food was fantastic! The ambience and Gin Wall - excellent. Tried Blue Slate Gin for the first time on the Waitresses recommendation and it was superb ! Olif for us was the best venue on that row of other businesses. Definitely worth going to. Tiny, intimate and a lovely evening out. Other food places on that row, just pub food and not great.

Home Cookin' Restaurant

Gogarth, Conwy, <20£
08/03/2020: The names says it all, the menu had a good range of home comfort food. I had the Lasagne and my partner had the Chicken Curry. Both great size portions and good value for money. Service was good and friendly. We would visit again if in the area.
05/03/2020: An obvious place to dine for us when in Llandudno, and once again it didn't disappoint. Really nice wholesome food at a reasonable price.

The Old Grocery

Hawarden, Flintshire
14/06/2020: Had the take away food. Recommend for a weekend treat. However vegetarian choices limited. Puddings yummy.
05/06/2020: Just had the best takeaway ever!!THe old grocery congratulations, the food We just had for our dinner was truly fabulous I started with the crab soufflé superb followed by the slow cooked lamb shoulder super and finished with the hazelnut cake truly a delicious delight,I’ve tried a few takeaways throughout this lockdown and to be honest disappointed, so glad that the old grocery has taken up the baton and is leading by a country mile the food is as good as iff you were in the restaurant the cooking instructions are spot on, they truly want you to enjoy your meal at its best thank you and look forward to our next meal weather it be in the restaurant or takeaway

03/03/2020: On our way back home, catching the bus this cafe is in a side street near the bus stops. Very friendly staff and great value food. Used by the locals not just tourists. Give Costa a miss and give these your business rather than a faceless plc.
