Andrew and the team were wonderful , nothing too much trouble and the afternoon tea was full of delicious home made treats my boys couldn’t contain themselves! Visited with my elderly mum and her dog Jackson. A bowl of water was brought straight over for Jackson without us even asking. We were made to feel very welcome straight away. The food was absolutely delicious, quality ingredients, presented beautifully. They were even kind enough to provide a sausage for Jackson which he thoroughly enjoyed. I had to nip back to the car for mums wheelchair and they were so kind to her. Thank you so much once again

My fiancé and I prebooked for festive afternoon tea on a Thursday afternoon. We absolutely loved it. The staff were so friendly and when our afternoon tea was brought out each item was explained to us which was lovely. The items were amazing. Festive sandwiches, cinnamon & brandy soaked scones, lemon & orange scones with clotted cream/jams/lemon curd. Lots of different cakes, but also an irish cream cheesecake which was devine! Our left overs were boxed to go which was no problem. Staff offered to take pictures of us since we were on holiday. The shop was also nice and very quirky. We would definitely return here again

I called up a couple of weeks before to book; my father in law is pre diabetic so I wanted to see if it was possible for them to accommodate us at all. The owner (I think) was amazing and made a substitute for the cakes and the scones. He also explained everything to us when we arrived and made sure that we had enough tea and we were happy. Even without all the extra effort he had gone to, to accommodate us, my husband and I said it was the best cream tea we had ever had. It was really well put together without being pretentious and they were very welcoming to our dog too. Absolutely recommend!

Searching in vain for someone to provide evening meals for a large group of friends staying for a week near Dolgellau we were lucky enough to be put in touch with Carol at Gwyndy. She immediately understood our predicament and agreed to help. After we consulted all those involved at our end Carol produced an imaginative menu which catered for all our 16 different tastes and set to. For the next five days we would trudge back into our huge rented property, tired but happy after a series of long walks (including Cadair Idris - twice). Once we had made ourselves presentable and had a reviving drink, and laid the table, Carol would arrive with our meal, piping hot and plentiful, together with a choice of perfect puddings. We couldn't have eaten better or enjoyed our meal more had we got into our cars and driven off to some smart restaurant, sat quietly and discreetly, paid twice the price and driven home again. Eating "at home" enabled us to unwind a little, take our time, enjoy several toasts and then have a briefing on the following day's route.

Where to begin! We sat in the wonderful courtyard garden and relaxed in the sunshine. My friend enjoyed a delicious gluten free lunch consisting of a tasty smoked Mackerel salad and I being Miss Piggywiggy had home made lasagna with a colourful mixed salad. We went the whole hog and enjoyed puddings - she had the almond cake drizzled with passion fruit coolie and cream and I went for the warm chocolate brownie and almond ice cream - all home made and totally scrumptious!! Washed down with a carafe of iced water and finished our lunch with fresh coffee and a pot of fresh loose tea, all served in bone china cups - I am fussy about food but I am never disappointed here and put excellent food with friendly and welcoming staff in a stylish and comfortable place and you have a winning formula. From potato, beetroot, onion, beans, you get my meaning. Little piles of homemade very tasty salads to shame the limp lettuce you may get elsewhere. My friend had the 3 fish salad, comprising of smoked salmon, hot smoked salmon and mackerel. Again this came with an array of their salads as mentioned. Very friendly staff and the tea and food was served beautifully and did not disappoint, great attention to detail for the finer quality food and service. Scones were amazing. Clean, comfortable and contemporary decor we will definitely be coming back.

Called in on a flying pit-stop as we really needed a brew. So glad we did. Utterly charming and the nicest coffee i've had in a long time. Gorgeous home made bread as toast with Pyms jam, which my husband went mad for! Fortunately you can buy jars of it there. Lovely staff and a perfect pick me up. Well done ladies!

Tea and honey buns at this delightful tea shop. What a find! I was informed that the honey buns had won a local award and I can well believe it. I would have also liked to taste their homemade scones with Pimms jam so will have to come back. Lovely friendly staff and a boutique and gifts to look at too. I will return.

We visited for a sandwich lunch. It was explained that we would have to wait to be served while they prepared lunch for 4 other people but we were brought a pot of tea. Some time later we were asked for our order but despite the menu saying we could have our choice of sandwich fillings - "just ask" - the only options were ham, cheese, egg and cucumber with various garnishes. As we had almost finished our tea we decided not to bother with the sandwiches. We paid £4 for the pot of tea for two and went to a nearby bakery/cafe which, as well as a large variety of sandwiches, baguettes, paninis etc served delicious pies and pasties. The Gwyndy seems to be well-liked by people who have had afternoon tea there and the staff are friendly.

We’ve dined with Antonella and Luke 4 times now, and each time has been a beautiful and memorable experience. With my recent coeliac diagnosis, it has been easy for Luke to adjust the menu as there is hardly any gluten to begin with, but we so appreciated the attention to detail and the thorough decontamination of the kitchen. Passion and dedication run through everything these two do. An unexpected gift of their persimmon Kimchi, was eaten the next day, savouring the exquisite flavours…. Foraging, fermentation and the best ingredients lie at the heart of this experience. And of course, they are dog friendly! Extra nice to treat our beautiful friend to this experience…. See you soon

Had lunch here a few days ago with friends. We were given a lovely warm welcome, coats taken and shown to our table. Great choice of food, with full explanations of all dishes given if required. I can not fault any part of this experience, the young trainees worked very hard to make sure everything went well. The staff were all very professional and it would have been easy believe you were in a “proper” restaurant. In fact I have had much worse food and service in many restaurants! Very generous portions of food, very well presented and good service. Excellent value when full price but we were lucky to go when a 2 for 1 offer was on. I can definitely recommend and will without doubt visit again soon. Thank you and well done to the youngsters.

Had a two night stay here over the weekend of the 6th Sept and what a wonderful little place it is. Emma and Menno were the most welcoming, friendly hosts and we immediately felt like this was a home from home, our room was very cosy and complete with home made Welsh cakes that went down a treat with a cup of tea after the long drive. The breakfasts were amazing and with the added twist of a Dutch breakfast option courtesy of Menno. The tea rooms are currently closed allowing for a lovely spacious breakfast room which is decorated with photos and keepsakes from all over the world. Emma gave us pointers on the local eateries and places to go and even filled up our water bottles for us when we went out on our hike. This is a fantastic base for walking with easy access to both the Rydd Ddu, and Snowdon Ranger paths up Snowdon as well as having several lakes and close by to the Nantile Ridge. Ty Mawr is currently up for sale which is a shame because we would definitely stay again. Thank you Emma and Menno for giving us a really lovely stay.

Staying at the Celtic Royal again we decided to treat ourselves! Slightly put off by seemingly expensive menu but the portions were amazing and food cooked to a really high standard. And then, the puddings! Amazing choice and absolutely delicious! We’ll be back - I hope!
