Three of us had booked a table at a Garden Centre for my 76th Birthday on 16/10/22 but when we got there we found the kitchen closed due to unforeseen circumstances. I had seen a copy of the Gwalchmai Hotel Menu at Bryn Ednyfed campsite, where we were staying, and decided to give it a go. It was after 2.30 when we got there and I went to check that Hil could get to the tables on her mobility scooter. The access is easy and the lady owner informed me that they only had Beef left but we that we were very welcome. We ordered 2 large and one child's (for Hil) meal. When they came they were large and well presented. The owner apologised for the roast potatoes being slightly overcooked but, given the time, we were happy. The meat and veg. was all delicious and the gravy both plentiful and tasty. Only two of us had space for pudding and we ordered Apple Crumble and custard. We soon asked for a third spoon and only just managed to clear the plates. Overall the food was excellent and the service friendly and helpful. We were only on Ynys Mon for a few days but will certainly go to the Gwalchmai should we visit the area again.

Stopped there whilst on a bike ride with 2 friends today. Excellent service from start to finish. 3 roast dinners (all the meats), 3 Guinness, 3 cans of coke and 2 pints of export all served fast and with a smile. Would definitely recommend stopping there and enjoying the sun out the back if you’re passing through.

Had lovely tea here today with the family. We all tried different things. The pizza was amazing, made from scratch in the kitchen itself, the best pizza she’d ever tasted was the words that came out of her mouth. The mix grill was delicious too, a very good portion for the price. The meat tasted very fresh and juicy, couldn’t fault it! The tikka also went down very well. Fish tasted so good that the grandmother wanted another one. The kids Sbag Bol was also demolished as it was that good. Couldn’t fault any of the mains. We then also had a pudding each. A crunchy cheesecake, chocolate fudge cake, banana split, ice cream and rhubarb crumble. Went down perfectly too. Couldn’t fault the meal. All of this and a couple drinks each for less than £50. An absolute bargain, couldn’t recommend the place more!

After a long awaited visit to north wales to see my Dad, we drove all over Anglesey trying to find somewhere to eat, nowhere we looked were serving a Sunday lunch due to restrictions, but were delighted when the gwalchmai hotel was recommended by a friend, absolutely spot on. Felt very welcome by the staff and was nice to see a few familiar faces, the weather was lovely for us sitting outside, the service was super fast, food was hot and we did not go away hungry or disappointed!! (The beef was perfect!) You are doing a fantastic job at this difficult time, to be providing the service you are:) Thankyou for making my visit back to Anglesey such an enjoyable one! Keep up the good work.

This is our local pub. Since the start of lockdown (and shielding for me and my family), we have been helped out so much by the team here. Anytime we needed help, we were supported without question and without fail. We would have been in a much worse position had it not been for the kindness and generosity here. Kindness like this kept me safe, and alive. Literally! We have also on occasion ordered food here. We love the cheese burger and chips. It's an absolute monster of a meal for someone like me and always cooked to perfection. Great price too. We are always really pleased with the excellent quality. Thanks again, we couldn't have managed without your help. It's as simple as that! Nice people too!

We had arrived at our hotel earlier than expected and hoped that we would be able to get a snack or sandwich, but were politely told that food wasn’t served during the day. However we were directed to Blueberries in the town. We had to pay £1 to park the car as this was also where a market was held each Saturday. The menu was really quite extensive including a selection of salads, paninies, salads, ice creams, and Welsh cakes. There was also a selection of teas and coffees.

Going on the strength of other reviews, we booked a table in the dog friendly area of The Crown. Having had and a 2 hour walk beforehand, a well deserved refuelling stop. Quite chilly in that area of the pub. Cheap lunch menu. Specials board more expensive. We had Scampi & fries, small battered cod & chips. Both came with peas. I had much higher expectations and was disappointed in the portion size(5 scampi pieces). Would consider giving it another try sometime, go in the evening and dine in the restaurant area. Pay the more expensive dinner prices, in the hope that the food would not be cooked from frozen and the portion sizes would be satisfying.

Pre dinner drinks on balcony overlooking open golf course and countryside with the Menai Straits in the background are ultra relaxing. The Service is excellent and the choice and quality of food are to a high standard.
