Going on the strength of other reviews, we booked a table in the dog friendly area of The Crown. Having had and a 2 hour walk beforehand, a well deserved refuelling stop. Quite chilly in that area of the pub. Cheap lunch menu. Specials board more expensive. We had Scampi & fries, small battered cod & chips. Both came with peas. I had much higher expectations and was disappointed in the portion size(5 scampi pieces). Would consider giving it another try sometime, go in the evening and dine in the restaurant area. Pay the more expensive dinner prices, in the hope that the food would not be cooked from frozen and the portion sizes would be satisfying.

Our booked-in party of five were warmly welcomed, COVID checked and seated in the quiet room left of the entrance There were two other occupied tables. All of our food and drink was carefully prepared, well presented and delicious. I was served the wrong beer with the drinks order. I said I would be happy to try it anyway. I was told they would change it free of charge if it turned out I didn’t like it. But I did. Lots of goodwill all round. Pork roast dinner was excellent. Beef equally good and served well done as requested. Best meal we had in our week on the island.

Booked table for Sunday lunch whilst staying in Aberffraw. We had tasty thick snd tender slices of roast pork with crackling. Delicious. This was served with roast and mashed potato Yorkshire puddings plus stuffing with gravy. All accompanied by a fish of freshly cooked vegetables. A proper ‘ homemade ‘ roast but also nicely servedGood choice of desserts. We had one big portion of apple crumble and a serving of homemade rice pudding. The rice pudding was like your gran used to make ! So creamy it must have had a generous amount of cream added Highly recommended

Wow, simply wow, food brilliant for a Coastal village pub that’s just being what it is, very reasonable prices, beers and wines all great and good choice , Staff are all really friendly and cannot praise the COVID set up , by far the best we came across on Anglesey, we have been coming here for a number of years and so pleased they have weathered the COVID storm, We need small village pubs to be the hub of community and this ticks all the boxes, few others have passed comments about the food, in all our years coming here we haven’t had a bad meal, if there had been a problem , we said something to the staff instead of being keyboard warriors, I don’t know why people bash small pubs, speak to the staff, it goes for any place anyone visit

We turned up without booking and was greated by the door by a pleasant man. He explained there was a wait for food about 40 minutes to an hour. We stayed and had drinks while waiting to have food. Amazing covid checks. The best we have been so far. You could see they where busy as the dinning room was all booked up and the bar filled with drinkers locals I think (who where so lovely towards us)There was 5 of us (4 adults and 1 toddler plus a dog) we sat outside and within minutes was greated by a very cheery and bubble staff member, she was very quick in getting our drinks. We never went with out drinks and was always asked if we where okay. (Which you don't get everywhere) thank you to the girl with the short hair and glasses and the man with dark hair. Who always checked on us and the dog we got the food within the time frame we where given and we are so glad we waited for it. Worth the wait for sure. We got an extra plate for my little one and she enjoyed everything we had .Food amazing, staff amazing and so polite. If your walking anywhere by Aberffraw I would advice you to visit The Crown 100%

Came upon this place by chance yesterday and was pretty much blown away! We had a really warm welcome and sat in the garden out back. Very quick service and the steak and ale pie was divine - my friend said the tagliatelle was the best she's tasted. We didn't stay long as we had a long drive ahead, but kinda wished we had. Compliments to the staff and the chef and I really regret not tipping - we had to leave suddenly and I thought it was included! I'll be back soon to tip twice as much! :)

I visited The Crown on a Saturday afternoon. I had half a pint (Welsh Pride) which was perfectly cold and very delicious. The service was excellent, and the woman who served me was very friendly and didn’t feel rushed at all, despite it seeming relatively busy. The other staff were also very cheerful and the atmosphere was lovely. I had a great fish and chips, with honestly the best chips I’ve ever had in a pub, reminded me of homemade chips my mum used to make (maybe a little better, sorry Mum!).Sticky toffee pudding was huge and very moist, with a great amount of sauce and custard, I couldn’t finish it and that’s a rare thing for dessert! Regretted not popping the leftovers in my bag but arguably it’s not the most portable dessert. Would definitely come back next time I’m in Aberffraw.

( I would advice to book a table as they where fully booked when I called). They also don't do tabs in the garden but is wasn't a problem for us to pay as we ordered food and drinks. They have 2 kinds of menus a lunch time and evening we did wait for the evening one to start which was only 15 minutes. We had the belly porks from the special bored, steak pies and a crown burger. We hadn’t booked and the pub was full but were advised if we could order straight away they could accommodate us. We sat in the garden which was lovely and the food was delicious. Thank you.

Called here several times as we were staying in a cottage outside the village and wow what a place. The food is excellent and staff very friendly and helpful as are the locals. They have a house special of steak and ale pie and its really wonderful. Sunday Roast is also highly recommended. The Pub has several rooms where you can eat and plenty parking outside. Highly recommend this place

We found this great pub on Trip Advisor and have to agree with the rating. Great food, super service from friendly staff and a choice of over 40 gins. What more could you ask. We can highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding

We visited yesterday lunchtime with the intention of eating and quenching our thirsts. Having read some of the comments we were optimistic - and we were not disappointed.

The Crown has a restaurant area which looked quite inviting and two small bar areas where dogs are allowed. It also has a beer garden but it was out of action for refurbishment while we were there. The menu is typical pub and we had scampi and steak and ale pie. The scampi was good quality and well cooked and the pie tasted homemade, dark suculant and full of flavour. The chips were light and dry but the vegatables with the pie a little overcooked. The service was friendly and efficient and the pub is clearly very popular. Prices are very reasonable

Popped in for a beer after a long walk on Aberffraw beach, needed a warm and pub looked so cozy inside, log burner was just right, as always great beers, staff as everyone says are really friendly and helpful, ended up eating which was a real treat, The Crown is a proper pub, not a high end restaurant which other reviews seem to think it is, It’s a Village pub and it does fantastic food, If you want high end, Anglesey has several, If you want really good pub food this is the place to go too on the west coast

Pre dinner drinks on balcony overlooking open golf course and countryside with the Menai Straits in the background are ultra relaxing. The Service is excellent and the choice and quality of food are to a high standard.
