Ordered two (alcoholic) drinks, and was told the card minimum was £10, (no apology). Got my cash out to pay, and the barman addressed everyone else at the bar, including my own friend, with "women always say they have no money, even when they do", then turned to me with "you thought you'd got away with that one didn't you" Didn't realise these kind of jokes were still funny in this area but shows you what era this pub is living in. It's not that I can't take the joke, just that I shouldn't have to What a weird way to have an interaction with a paying customer The rest of the pub has a very strange atmosphere and the "beer garden" leaves a lot to be desired

Party of 12 in for Sunday lunch to celebrate my brother's birthday. We felt well looked after by Steve and the team. Lovely Sunday carvery, good portion sizes, and very tasty. Off the main drag of the high street, so looks a bit out of the way, but well worth a visit. Good selection of ales, and top banter with the punters!

14/4/24 - Sunday early evening beers We three middle aged guys from London had just explored this small seaside town and wanted a beer before setting back to (smaller) Llanon where we were staying. We saw this pub from the road to the main road on our return from the heavily sea defence walled seafront (with extensive defence works in the harbour). It looked like it should have been cheaper so we investigated at around 6pm. As we hovered outside a guy popped out for a smoke and asked where we were from, he was from London too and a quick exchange about football club preferences ensued. He said it was good inside so we entered to find a busy but quite noisy bar clientele watching the football. Luckily there was a quieter, virtually empty bar (lounge?) to the right though. A large restaurant was further along the corridor. We took the table in the far corner by the display. There was a lot of local artwork on the walls which was interesting. On our way we chose a pint and a half of Felinfoel (chocolate) Stout (4.1%) on tap and a pint of Felinfoel Double Dragon (4.2%) on the pulley (for myself not driving). The stouts took a while to draw and settle, the friendly barman/boss apologised repeatedly for the wait....no problem!! The wait for the stout was worth it! I wish I had chosen that myself but my DD was good too! The footie crowd next door were getting quite raucous as Aston Villa beat Arsenal 2-0. The customers were obviously Brummies and Londoners, probably camper/caravaners. This pub is the nearest to the caravan sites so has a ready customer base. Once the football finished things got a bit calmer! We enjoyed a chat with the boss about beers and taxes on 'premium' beers. Alltold we bought the two and a half pints for £10. The Stout was not on the drinks list as it was very new to the pub. The dd was £3.80 a pint making the stout around £4 a pint. Yes it probably was the cheapest beer in town, certainly the cheapest we had had outside of Spoons in Aber! We left happy and sated to return 'home'.

A true pub that serves good food. The barman and locals were very welcoming and helpful. The prices are very reasonable and we thoroughly enjoyed our day out. I couldn’t find the menu on line before we went but there was plenty to choose from. We had homemade Chicken Curry with chips and rice / Scampi, posh fries, peas then Apple pie with custard

Great back street (but near the front) traditional local we visited on a cold and wet January weekend. It was quiet but the few locals in, landlord and barmaids made us and the two dogs welcome. The simple winter menu was fine to choose from and I had a delicious home made chicken curry. The menu is being added to before the season starts.Such a nice visit we went back for food and drinks again on the Sunday. Love digging out and supporting this type of pub on out travels.

Typical Felinfoel Brewery pub, ie, crying out for some money to be spent on it ...had Sunday lunch, meat was nice, lots of veg ...friendly locals, but the chairs in the dining room badly need recovering and the room itself, while nice and light, needs some sort of decor, it's very bare ...wish I could give it a better rating as Aberaeron needs pubs like this ....the beer was good and the staff were excellent

(i am outraged😡😤) , i would like to add im trying to continue our review but its been 45 mins and we havent had any food, we were told the carvery guy would tell us when to come up, i feel forgotton. got our carvery: NO BLOODY MASH POTATOES?!?!?! almost everythin was empty i was scraping the tin for peas. not suitible for picky eaters, only broccoli and califlower was covered in cheese only 2 meats, turkey or beef all sauces ran out not worth the hours wait for food no the hours wait for permission to get food we served ourself the photo is what the picky eater was left with 🤸♂️ 🪑 🏌♂️

Once again we all picked something different. The food was so very, very good. We chose the fish and chips, lasagne and toasted cheese and tomato for mains. We chose strawberry sundae, apple pie and custard and chocolate fudge cake. We cleared every plate. The portion sizes were excellent. The drinks were lovely. The restaurant was lovely and bright. We can see why it is so popular. If we lived there it would be our local. Us 'cockneys' loved it.

We walked passed this pub the Sunday before and listened to the people leaving who were all singing the praises of the Sunday carvery. On the following Friday we were in town again and thought we’d give the pub a go for lunch. It was a sunny day so we were able to sit in the beer garden. The very friendly barman brought us our menus and then came back around 10 mins later to take our order and had a nice chat with us. We both decided to have the lasagna and chips. When the meals came out we were stunned. They looked amazing and the aroma was delicious and beguiling. The side salad was very fresh with lots of colourful ingredients and very pleasing to the eye and palate. The plentiful chips were crisp, dry and fluffy inside. Perfect. But, the star of the show was the homemade lasagna. I have been commended on my own homemade lasagna, but this was a level above. The rustic consistency was right with lots of meat and juicy chunks of tomato and garlic. It was lava hot and the cheesey bechamel sauce was gooey and quite sublime. All in all it was an epic lunch and a very pleasant experience. Excellent food and really good value. The staff and regulars at the bar were very welcoming and we had a laugh with them on the way out. They welcomed our little dog warmly too. This is a no nonsense, proper old fashioned pub, that serves excellent, no frills pub grub, at very good and reasonable prices, and we loved it. It is not fine dining or a “gastropub” but we think that’s what gives it its charm. There are enough poncey overpriced eateries in Aberaeron, for those that like that sort of thing. We don’t. We plan on returning to the Prince very soon and working our way around the menu, each time we visit.

Popped in here as it had good reviews and is dog friendly. Chap behind the bar was lovely and welcoming. We did however, have to leave half way through eating due to one of the locals behaviour. We were sat near another couple that had their three year old son with them. Said local (a man named Carl originally from Bolton), threatened to rip the child’s teeth out and called me a monkey (I am half British, half Jamaican). The few bites of the food we had was fine, establishment is dog friendly. I wouldn’t recommend obviously because in 2023 you should be able to have a bite to eat without some local low life accosting people trying to enjoy their afternoon, threatening a child and being racist. Thankfully everyone else we have encountered on our visit to West Wales has been lovely.

We have been going to this lovely hotel for years and have fallen in love with it.. however, in recent times we have noticed a turn around in new staff ans to be frank, they have not been given sufficient or proficient training in general, we have also noticed a decline in the food at the hotel... we think that it just needs a bit of re organising in the management sector to bring g it back up to scratch.. it is still beautiful and idealik for a relaxing stay.
