Great food a little pricey for a fish and chip shop.

Ordered fish, chips, mushy peas and scampi. Two of the scampi were the same size as my thumb nail, asked for extra salt and vinger in the special instructions and there was literally none. Nobody even tried the mushy peas as it was literally a translucent soup with crushed green peas in it. Disappointed

Very very poor service portions are a joke decent enough food doesn't justify the price. Was more the poor attitude service and portions would not return.

Great food as always, think the portions have gotten a touch smaller as of late, but still tastes great

Called at Lloyds for some food on the way home from work, I'm not from the area so did not know what to expect...the pice on the fish was half the price I pay in my locality. Whilst that impressed me, I would not have been impressed if the quality was poor. However, I was well impressed at the quality of the food. The fish and chips were freshly cooked, well presented in a box. There was no residue of fat left on the paper after we ate the chips and my partner and I both commented on this. The chips were crispy, fresh and not dripping in fat. The fish was beautiful. We were so impressed we may well drive the 60 miles each way just to eat Lloyds fish and chips. Thank you all your food is fantastic

Wow what a chip shop. This has to be the best chip shop in all of Wales. We have been long time customers for years now and we can honestly say after trying most chip shops in Wales over the years nothing compares to this excellent establishment. In every way possible it is absolutely spot on. The food is perfect and has only got better over the years. Fish and chips are cooked to perfection with light batter and non greasy and the chips are fantastic and just as they should be cooked in good oil and not palm oil which is an issue with a lot of chip shops. The prices are reasonable especially the Cod and the service is brilliant. Friendly and efficient always and very clean etc. I know of nowhere better and no where half as good. Without Lloyds we would not eat fish and chips as its not worth the money any where else and these guys never disappoint. Just please keep going in these uncertain times as we would be devasted to lose you ever. Thank you Lloyds for being there.

Best fish and chips we have had! Beautiful batter on the snowy white fish! Also had a glass of house wine with our meal, which was very good. Also bought some rissoles to take home with us. Very tasty.

Very nice fish and chips but a tad expensive! Batter was very good. However they offered senior discount of 50p which I thought was a bit strange and no point in doing that.

The staff were being extremely rude towards each other and the customers. not surprised because they only get less than £3 an hour! The food was extremely soggy and the chips were pale. The pie wasn't cooked properly and it was quite cold, the all steak pie was pretty much frozen.

I wish they'd open for lunchtime again with all the closures nearby.

Fab visit with our car club tonight. Staff were lovely as was the food.

Long review, but it's a weird place and I need to process it. Dining room a little odd. It is old-fashioned, has rugby shirts around the room, but also has the cutlery in hip little cups. Staff still wearing masks is fine, but not if they talk quietly. Ordering food took a while to communicate, particularly asking for peas instead of beans, and I ordered two glasses of house white. "What sort of white?" I was asked. "Sauvingnon blanc" I said, surprised. Waiter looked in the fridge, and brought out tow open bottles of cheap-looking chardonnay. No thanks, and why ask? They have a very complex till they can't really work, but no card machine, so you gotta go out to the bank along the street. Sitting down, I didn't think I'd been charged correctly, and asked for an itemised receipt. I asked four times for this in total, each time was told Yes, each time waiter wandered off to do something else. I was having a glass of water, but was handed an empty glass. Waiter didn't notice it was empty so I followed her to get it filled. Food arrived. ENORMOUS portions of chips, which were sadly very pale, lukewarm and under-cooked. Visibly under-cooked. If they offered half the amount of better chips punters would be happier. The Withs - battered fish, chicken and steak pie - were all excellent We had far too much chips so they kindly gave us a box to take a portion home (which, once cooked in an airfryer, were excellent). I asked again for an itemised bill, and was handed a handwritten receipt for "food". Leaving, I said I thought I'd been overcharged. Waitress said I hadn't. I asked to speak to the manager. I explained our meal should have cost £30: 8+8+12+2, but I'd been charged £35 so they owed me £5. Manager and waitress then spent ages playing with the puzzling till. I kept trying to explain it was basic maths but they wouldn't engage. They had rung up the food in a really complex way, adding and removing things, whereas the maths was easy. The manager got bored and wandered over to the door. The waitress eventually handed me £3. "So we're going to split the difference?" I asked, but she didn't understand. Having spent long enough I left it at that. Lampeter is worth a look. The Shell petrol station can't be relied on to be open, but the bakery, hardware store and butchers are excellent. So is the Sainsbury's. I'm not saying don't go to Lloyds. Just expect it to be weird.

Omg! Lloyds was out of this world, I have never been a chip lover but we went to lloyds for the rissole because in the Midlands we don't have them, I decided to share some chips with my partner an I wished I hadn't, I wanted more an the rissoles.....WHY DONT WE HAVE THEM IN THE MIDLANDS? the food at lloyds is remarkable 👌 10 out of 10

Good fish and chips. But sadly do not cater for gluten free food

Been trying this shop over the past 6 1/2 years - it has been consistently hit and miss over this time. Fish batter is generally greasy, sticking to chips in box. Every now and again you get a well cooked piece of fish which is tasty, unfortunately this really is only 'every now and again'. Portion size is extremely mean for the price - they advertise small, medium and large - unfortunately this advertising is not generic to other restaurants - the large is more akin to a medium in other outlets - not sure how big the small is, but we have ordered a medium before - we've had bigger portions advertised in other shops as 'senior specials'. Chips are not always freshly cooked, and other times more like boiled and flaccid. We won't be playing russian roulette here any more.

Very nice fish and chips. We both had the large fish which was more than adequate but not overwhelming so I think the small wouldn't fill someone with a big appetite. Lovely crispy batter too which is more difficult to find in many fish and chip shops

Unable to eat in as the restaurant hadn't opened following the lifting of Covid restrictions so our only option was a takeaway. I queried the menu that offered small, medium and large cod, and was told they had medium and large only. We ordered 2 medium and 1 large cod, with chips. That was it and there was very little change from £20. However, I had heard the food was good, so we went with it. We all took our boxes of food back to the car to eat. When I opened mine, I couldn't believe how small the piece of fish was. Goodness knows how small the 'small' size would have been, more like a fish nugget that a piece of fish no doubt. It was very disappointing, and very oily too. Whilst the chips were good and the fish inside the oily batter was nice, I felt the food was grossly overpriced for what we got as a takeaway. We all agreed that we wouldn't go back in a hurry. Really disappointed.

Fresh fish, great chips. Homemade. The chef and owner was also a very friendly and likeable gentleman - you will enjoy being a guest there. Google doesn't state the correct location though - it is right next to the big supermarket!

Don't expect to get a reasonable size large cod here. Very thin and small fillets. But what you do get is tasty

Nice food and fast service even with covid restrictions

Easy to order & pay online then go to pick up at your chosen time. The cod is well cooked with crispy batter and you can order medium or large to suit your appetite. There is also the option to have breaded plaice, coffee bites or scampi. The chips are lovely - again you can order a portion size to suit you. Sweet potato fries are also available. Mushy peas are great and for the more adventurous there is also the option of curry sauce, onion gravy and pineapple fritters. If fish isn't your thing, they also do chicken and sausages and veggie rissoles. We order regularly and can highly recommend.

Ordered takeaway on Saturday online. Really easy, booked time slot and and just picked up order on time. No waiting. Staff very efficient. Food well packaged - no soggy chips and fish batter excellent. Recommended.

We went for meal with friends. The restaurant is charming and the food was delicious. Good size portions, and good service.

Lovely taste on the selection of food we had.. yes they are slow to serve you however all the food is cooked to order. Portions are on the smaller side also. But overall very good.

Called in last night at 8:15pm, just for a portion of fish on the way home. The staff said there were 2 large fish cooked, or they could fry another size if necessary. We ordered one large fish and took it home. It was almost cold, really chewy near the edge, greasy tasting and the portion was very small considering it was supposed to be large. I wish we'd asked them to cook a fresh portion. I have no idea how long this one had been hanging around, but definitely too long… If the staff had said it had been cooked a while and asked if we still wanted it (maybe discounted?), then at least we'd not be complaining, but seriously, it was an absolute nerve to sell it to anyone, it should've been put in the bin. Couldn't be bothered to go back, but no way am I ever going there again. Shockingly bad, probably the worst fish I've ever had, anywhere, in 60 years. OK, so it was getting close to closing time, but still… they must've known that the fish was cold, tough, and inedible.

A total scam. This restaurant is stingy beyond belief with fish sizes. Just look at the photo! I feel insulted and ripped off. I paid for a medium sized cod which is nothing more than a child's small portion. They hide it under chips but I noticed and pointed out that I asked for a medium. They replied that was standard. in all my years of visiting hundreds of fish and chip shops, this is by far the worst. I didn't enjoy the experience of being treated like this and will be going to the other shop in future. They have no reason to do this apart from maximum profit making. Awful, mean, stingy, to the point of fraudulent.

I've been going to this chip shop for years. I had to wait 25 minutes for my fish and chips after ordering tonight. Why does it take so long?. Everybody complains about the time you have to wait. Other chip shops serve you straight away. Get your act together, Stuart. While you are at it, you could increase the size of your portions.

I was in there on Saturday night, it wasn’t busy and there was no pressure or rush for anyone. Large cod large chips, battered sausage chips. Not difficult. But what I got for money was at best poor. The portion size was no where near what I’d asked for and what I got was more like a small portion and my better half ended up with probably a child’s portion at best. £16 later I feel very disappointed. Not problem with the quality but the quantity needs addressing. Especially when you use the likes of the Celtic in aberaeron, Morgan’s in Carmarthen and OMC in lampeter. Lloyd’s need to adjust their portion sizes asap

A clean and tidy chip shop with a host of local classic photos on display in the restaurant section, a winner of many awards and rightly so, very nice food.

Having just moved here today from Oxfordshire, England, we decided to venture into town to sample a local chippy. There was a good menu of the usual chippy type meals. Various fried fish, pies and pasties. Food seemed nicely cooked and fresh with ample portion size. We certainly enjoyed our first fish & chip, and pie & chips. We have been back since and not disappointed. The only downside was, they didn’t accept card payments, but the friendly staff were happy to direct us to the nearest cash machine just a few yards away.

We ’ve used this place a number of times and to be honest it’s very hit and miss. My large cod with large chips was so small it like a childrens portion. The fish was all batter which was soggy. Certainly would not recommend children’s portion. CoIt was

We called and had Fish & Chips one fri, the staff were friendly and helpful,we were the only one's in the take away but it took a long time to be served. We took it back to the car to eat but I was disappointed with it, the fish was small even though it should have been large and the both were dried out, Sorry but we were so looking forwards to it.

Well i am amazed the service was good and friendly but fish and chips were greasy which was never so before but still no credit cards accepted no fresh food no salad and only frozen cod and haddock on offer plus frozen breadcrumbed plaice with Heinz baked beans or mushy peas. No details of quality of sausages on offer for instance they are big but are they 30% or 90% meat? Disappointing not responding to customers comments

This is no better than an average fish and chip bar and does no deserve the accolades it holds. Yes the fish and the chips are good but no better than that.

We had takeaway fish and chips from here when we visited Lampeter and really enjoyed them- definitely worth a visit!

Staff get shouted at constantly and not because it's noisy... I can hear what's being said. I heard the woman in the back being homoeopathic and wanting everyone to f**k off so she can go home. As food is lovely this woman needs to be sorted. I came in today and they gave me the tiniest portion of chips and when the girls behind the counter questioned it she got told to shut up. Never going again as the woman in the back is a disgrace to your company.

Long journey to get fish and chips which in all fairness were good but not exceptional

The food is nice enough the service is nice too. Just wish the prices would reflect the portion sizes, a large cod is the size of a smallish medium. And large chips seems to be a normal size of other places. But I can not fault the food, it is a lovely bit of grub! Chips yum! Fish! Sausages! It's all good. I recommend the curry sauce! And everyone knows the curry sauce is a bit hit and miss with most places. Here they seem to of achieved my 2nd favourite place to go for it 😂

Cod and Haddock are fine cooked freshly chips ok. Chicken cooked in fish oil and tastes like it only veg are baked beans and mushy peas. Sausages and pies are awful the poorest quality at a high price Tea and coffee are truly disgusting.

Sorry to say whilst food tasted fine it was overpriced. Large fish little more than a mini I anywhere else so the mini must only be a goujon. Same with the chips. Poor stock. Guy behind me could only have the last and only chicken and mushroom pie, the only pie available. And girl picking nose between serving without washing her hands. Wont be returning . It proudly boast best in Wales 2017! God knows how and I pity everyone if it is/was.
