The best chips ever. Actually going to return to Aber just for these crispy, yummy chips 😄 right by the sea, very reasonable price.

A nice fish and chip shop situated on the sea front. Parked up and ate whilst watching the sea. Chips were nice, curry sauce was lovely, but the fish was overcooked. I did like that you could order ‘mini cod’ though.

A real authentic chippy on the seafront! The option to get mini cod and chips was very welcome as I rarely manage a full fish and chips. It's not flashy inside, but it's a classic chippy with friendly and fairly quick service. Once you've got your food, you only have to cross the road and you're by the sea :)

Please don't visit here. The chips are rock hard and the batter was soggy. Pigeons enjoyed them. Much better chippys around.

Went to this chippy last night and I was extremely disappointed. I am a local and have been here a fair few times. Last night I was given a pot of mushy peas which was essentially dark green water. When I confronted the staff member there was absolutely no reaction apart from to hand me back my money, no apology just an arrogance, a complete piss take. When I got home the fish was over cooked and the chips had obviously been sitting there for a while. You need to look at your staffing Chip Box because this guy doesn’t give a monkeys about your business.

Had to wait 15 minutes while they cooked the chips , to say they had just been cooked they weren't hot, had a greasy taste and staff that served didn't appear to be enjoying life at work were busy in own conversations rather than looking after custom. No option of a napkin to wipe your hands after eating. I wouldn't return here,would rather have gone across the road and sat in the pub for another 20 pence 🙄

The best Curry sauce i’ve ever had. proper chinese style… Chips were lovely a little soggy but last orders by the looks of it lovely

Get your fish n chips here and not on the pier. It was the best Fish n Chips! Waited ages but it was well worth it. Mushy peas had crispy fried onions in. Proper nice 😊

This was the first time I had bought fish n chips here. Really enjoyed the fish and the chips although above average I did think quite a few had a bit of black on them. They had a LOT less fat on them compared to other establishments. Overall I would go here again but only when it's not raining as you have to wait outside for your order

Great take away for your fish and chips fix on the beach. A few benches outside but no sitting in. Grab your box and sit on the front or beach. Very good portion sizes at a good price.

On sat 29th June I went there for fish and chips. I drove from the midlands and do random fish and chip shops all over the country. When I ordered, it was cash only. The place looked dirty. The fryer left the shop for a few minutes and when he returned he took my fish out. The Chips were disgusting and the fish was even worse. The batter was cooked in places and under cooked in others. The chips and fish looked like they were cooked in old oil. I had to throw them away. Very Disappointing!

Says the best fish in Wales!!!! Absolutely terrible the batter is that thick you could use it as a pillow. It's basically I fish wrapped in a pancake never again That's as honest a review your going to get. Stay away

Recooked chips that took longer than they should of, forget some of our order rang to mention it but the number is disconnected.. nice enough guys but quite expensive for reheated chips and waiting ages ... probably avoid

We had the best Cod and Chips ever here on Saturday. Everything cooked fresh and to perfection.

I recently visited this chippy and ordered one portion of chips with cheese and beans, and another with chips, cheese, and gravy. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing due to the behavior of the staff. The man behind the till was extremely rude and seemed unwilling to take my order. He complained about not having a grater and that the beans and gravy were not prepared. Additionally, he was swearing frequently while speaking to his colleague. It’s a shame because the food here is actually quite nice, but the poor customer service really detracts from the overall experience.

I’ve eaten here before and it’s banged. However, I had some yesterday and it gave me severe food poisoning. Just be on your guards.

On multiple occasions, I went here and found they had either closed early 30mins or there abouts. And on other occasions found they don't have what I consider a normal fish n chip shop staple (roe) on the menu (I mean stocked or cooked).

This place used to be so good. Today chips were soggy, fish batter was thick and not fully cooked. Very disappointing will have to find somewhere new!

Absolutely disgraceful 8.50 for kid mini fish and chips what they dont tell you is the price on the board is just for the fish its 3.10 on top of every meal

Chips were fluffy in the middle and crispy on the edges. The battered fish was delicious and the staff were really friendly and helpful with my dietary requirement (milk intolerance). Will definitely visit again next time we are in the area.

Curry sauce was on point. Portions a good size and fish was decent! Facilities were generally tidy. Would recommend!!!

OK, so this place looks run down from the outside. However, this place does probably the best fish and chips in Wales.

Smallest fish I've ever had, not worth the £6.80 charged and over cooked,will not be visiting again!

Called in for some chips for my journey home. The portion size was extremely small for £2.70 - a small square box. However, they would have been worth it if they had been good. They weren't. I struggled to eat them as they had clearly been refried. This was a Wednesday night so it was very quiet. I was the only customer. I won't be going back

Chips were barely edible, some were so hard you could break a tooth, others were sludgy and tasted nasty. Sausage was average. Really poor effort serving food as bad as this.

We’re from Yorkshire so could have a biased view on great fish and chips but honestly, these were the worst fish and chips we have ever tasted. The fish batter was soggy and the chips were crispy and weird. We were super disappointed after seeing 4* star average on here and google reviews. Either we’re too used to great fish and chips in Yorkshire or this is just a naff fish and chip shop…

Chips were dry, asked for the cheesy chips, came with too much cheese not enough chips. Half of the chips were hollow and crunchy with how dry they were. Potatoes used did not seem fresh enough either. Half of the space is underutilized/blocked off. Cleanliness was middling, not dirty but not clean. And the cost is far too much for the poor quality.

Cod is very good and the service is quick. Totally recommend it.

Great place to have fish and chips in Aberystwyth. We were looking somewhere to get fish and chips to takeaway because we had our dog with us. We ordered cod and chips, which was £9 a portion. It was freshly cooked in front of us, and it was delicious.

Looking forward to fish n chips and wish I had gone elsewhere. Chips although fresh tasted as if they had been part cooked then recooked and the fish batter was very oily, only saving grace was that the inside of the fish was nice.

Dissapointing fish and chips. Not very hot, chops had lots of bits and one of our party ordered sausage chips and gravy. The sausage wasn't there. Normally excellent food but sadly not this time.

Went here for some fish & chips with our friends who use this chip shop all the time. They were surprised at how awful it was when we went. They cook your food to order, so you expect it to be good. Down side is that you have to wait outside in the rain. Chips were greasy, but OK. But the fish!! All 4 pieces overcooked, but 1 more so and the small cod was so overcooked it had rolled up like a Swiss roll! When we opened it up the fish was brown and grey, there was no way I was going to attempt to eat it! Curry sauce was like gloopy gravy with some curry powder in it. Needless to say we had no choice but to take it back. They offered to cook some fresh, but as we were told that it was the same lot of fish we opted for our money back. Very disappointing.

With Aberystwyth being a seaside town I thought I was in for A treat but to my great disappointment this was the worst Gish and chips we have had the misfortune to purchase The chis were greasy and full of stale oil and the fish well yo start with the fork could not break the batter and the cod was so over cooked that it was yellow and rubbery Avoid this place … wish we had😢 Worst chippy I have ever been in

Alway pay a visit when we’re in Aberystwyth. Conveniently situated opposite the pier, enabling you to soak up the scenery while enjoying your supper.

Nice, small chippy right on the seafront. It's hidden away literally so the term hidden gem is appropriate!

Cost nearly £20 for two fish & chips. Expected to be really nice when in a sea side chippy but how wrong was I. The fish was a size of a cipper and greasy and so was the chips and only a small portion fir £20. Not nice at all don't waste your money at this chippy. NOT RECOMMENDED

Mini fish & chips - the fish was fresh, well battered & not overly greasy. The chips were fantastic - crispy, tasty & more than enough for a small portion. I'm definitely but from here again next time I'm in the area 😋

Didn’t have full menu on offer and didn’t have ketchup to purchase or have on the side. Went back and as unable ti purchase drinks due to price limit of£10. Very disappointed after being recommended here.

We visited Aberystwyth while we were in the area, and stumbled across this place, which had plenty of customers waiting - the best measure of a good chippy. We were not disappointed. Easily the best fish and chips I have had for a very long time! Really enjoyed them!

Do yourself a favour when you fancy fish and chips, go here, best fish and chips I think I have ever had. The batter was light and fluffy. Only negative point, was their large battered sausage was 2 small sausages, and the cod was 2 small portions instead of a regular size, but tbh that's just a very small negative. 9/10 for this place.

Ordered a coffee, small cod and chips.. only to receive a greasy cod that was stuck to the paper and cardboard style chips, they then told me they don't serve coffee in the summer, however it was advertised on their menu. The card machine was not working, no signs or mentioned before ordering. Just terrible service and rude staff.

Fish and chips were nice, but expensive. Service was good, somewhere to sit whilst you wait, but there was a not very nice aroma

Ordered 1 large fish and chips 1 small fish and chips 1 jumbo sausage and chips 3 curry sauces. Food was decent average. But when we got back to caravan park and opened it up no large fish. Phoned no answer. Text the number to say what was 3 days now and no response.

The location of the place is near to the seafront and the beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food and service was amazing. I would highly recommend this place to people who love eating fish & chips by the seaside.

Tiny chippy on the sea front in Aberystwyth. Takeaway only, with no space to wait inside after you've ordered. I got quite cold waiting outside for what seemed like an unduly long time. Chips and curry sauce were okay, but the cod was very mediocre. I was disappointed and certainly won't be rushing back there next time I'm in Aber

£16 for fish, small chips, small curry sauce and a sausage! It was nice, but not for £16 especially as there are alternative options nearby. Small corner venue that looked unfinished inside, staff were nice enough but also not really interested in the customer or service.

Stopped on route through on way home from St David’s. Read the reviews and thought we would stop for a takeaway. I had fish and chips and hubby had pie and chips and we shared a yummy curry sauce. Excellent food! Delicious, freshly cooked and I recommend strongly.

Greasy food and hygiene rating is cleverly hidden on bottom of door. For a sea side location, wouldn't say the food was fresh and batter was raw in parts. Shame

We visited this small chip shop after a ride on the Vale of Rheidol steamrailway and a couple of hours in the Welsh National Library, near the University. Our (local) friend suggested this location. It is a bit of a wiggle to get to the sea front, but parking in April was free (after 6pm) and there were spaces. Opposite the pier, is Chip box 4. Quality and quantity were excellent, and the items were fresh cooked. Cod roe and chips, vegetables burger, large battered sausage with large chips to Share came out at less than £20. Eating on the sea front even had the added free Sea Gulls, unsuccessfully attempting to scrounge a free meal. Large, bird proof, waste bins readily available for the used packaging. Highly recommended

Tiny premises but there was a warm welcome, service was excellent and the food was freshly cooked. The short wait was more than worthwhile. The fish and chips were perfectly cooked and the fish was delicious in a lovely crispy batter. Only sorry that we're just visiting, this would definitely be a favourite if we were local.

I don't like to post negative reviews but we went here on a recommendation in the middle of a sea storm. The staff were nice enough but the food wasn't great. Maybe it's a regional thing but crunchy chips and dry, tasteless, battered slimline cod isn't my thing. Curry sauce was good though.

Had a take out on Bank Holiday Sunday, although it was heaving the staff dealt with orders quickly and efficiently. Excellent chips too!!! Recommended

Not very impressed chips looked and tasted like they had been reheated also a staff member came in off the street in pyjamas and dressing gown and walked in behind the counter where the cooking was taking place and no one was wearing any aprons or uniform. Would not go back there again.

Very slow service chips were lovely but my cornish pasty was awful not only was the pastry crispy and dry all the way through, but the filling was non existent

This used to be a lovely chip shop but it was awful now ... the fish was slimey and batter wasn't cooked enough. The chips were full of eyes and tasted like they were reheated 🤢 also only 1 hygiene rating and was so low on the door I missed it .... was unable to eat them and to far to take them back....
