I always have breakfast Saturday but this week only 1 person was working there was no hot water no juices no plates the tables were all cluttered eli (elizabeth) wasn't working she is the best waitress you've got we also go every Sunday and when she's there it's a fantastic atmosphere everything is efficient really a difference when she's not there . Also I have ordered the new dark chocolate mint dessert twice and you havnt got it why put it on the menu if you havnt got it Thank you Gaynor Preece A loyal customer

I just have to leave a review to say how fantastic the service has been for me tonight. After recently being diagnosed as gluten intolerant and having a very bad experience at a high street food chain last week. This has been a breeze, my food has been beautiful, hot and most importantly tasty. I’ve been able to have poppadoms and a chocolate fudge cake which have both been delicious. Thank you to Vickie, Amy, Eli, Kieran and Kacey for your superb service tonight. You’ve all been amazing.

Firt time I'd been in years.. vegetarian option were great and very tasty. Staff and atmosphere were relaxed and lovely.

We dined last night and the food me and my partner has was shocking. We both went for the doner kebab which is priced at just under £15 I think. Well what came out was bad! I had 6 slithers of meat and my partner had 5, i dont know how that can be classed a main meal, my plate was mainly chips and pitta bread which was not cooked. Very disappointed and doubtful I will return

I enjoy coming to Sessile Oak in Llanelli. Kieran, Elli, Emily, Amy, Vickie and Casey made my day magical with pixie dust and made my dream sparkle at the Sessile Oak, Llanelli all the Staff are friendly.

We had a very nice carvery,fresh food and plenty of meat together with a lovely jam sponge desert, also you get sent excellent offers on a regular basis.

Very disappointed with the service, we had to wait almost 30 mins for our drinks to arrive. Our food arrived and we asked our server for our drinks, she said she would find out from the bar. She didn't return to let us know why there was a delay. When our drinks were delivered by a server he apologised for the delay but when we asked to speak to a manager to explain the delay, he told us to go to the bar to ask. We were going to complain on the way out but there was only one person serving at the bar and we didn't want to pressure them. If there is a next time we will order at the bar not the table.

The chef with the big beard was very pleasant, and brought our food with such a smile, the bar staff vickie and Amy were amazing also, highly recommended for food and drinks. The food was piping hot, as there’s a few things I disliked on the dish I ordered,the understanding and acceptance was amazing and I can’t thank the staff enough. Atmosphere here was also good, Thank you all for an amazing evening 100% 5* rating !!!!

Everyone was very friendly when we arrived as well as throughout the evening. The food were there quickly and it was lovely. It was my birthday and the lady that served us even sang to me. Thanks for a lovely evening!

Had a lovely evening with the other half tonight first date night out in a very long time, also the food we had was on point plated to expectations and food was absolutely excellent I'd like to thank Tristan the head chef for the amazing food and service also thank you to Vicki for the service and to all other members of staff.

Lovely Sunday roast . Staff very pleasant

First time at venue , nice clean and tidy place, nice food and most importantly for us was friendly and pleasant staff , in particular ELI who was very nice and accommodating throughout ,right up untill we left , would for sure be visiting again

Been here tonight for my sons birthday meal. Food was amazing, staff are very helpful and friendly. Definitely coming back.

Went for sons 14 birthday party 20 of us service was quick and catered to our every needs. Left tip also as staff were lovely.

Restaurant and hotel review: Restaurant is pub like with carvery that's served every day. The staff in the morning were excellent the food was a three out of five, just a standard fry up with a selection of boxes cereals and bread etc. It got the job done. The evening can get busy at peak times and the staff were busy so the freindlyness dropped and a few times I was ignored at the bar whilst food guests took priority. The hotel is better than Travelodge standards, the beds comfy and the room faced the rear of the property, I did notice that my bed base was disgusting with lots of marks and stains see photo. The outside is busy so this may disrupt your nights sleep. On arrival food waste was outside the entrance and although the bin was emptied daily there was constantly rubbish in the car park, it needs some TLC and a clean up. Overall it's a good setup the food was good and I slept ok but wouldn't visit again.

Carvery is a bit hit and miss. Food from the menu is usually good.

Unable to order from the full kids menus on line. Service was slow and none cleared the tables meaning we had all plates on the table from main meal and puddings. Staff were friendly and carvery was very good. Steak and sausages overcooked. No cutlery for kids. It was an ok experience but not sure we would come back.

Family venue for meals, nice rooms good service from the staff. It's out of town so you have to book a taxi couple of hours in advance. We used S&G taxis. Great service. All round great stay

The pub itself is great and spacious but do NOT recommend the carvery. Went to put some potatoes on my plate and there was a hair in my food!!!! The beef has some sort of blue shine to it and it was excessively pink!! Vegetables were rock solid and over all just over priced, sticky tables and I was sat by a wall that was covered in food and god knows what else!! Won’t be returning.

Chose from the carvery, which had a good choice of vegetables and meats. However, the food appeared to have been kept warm for quite a while; very dry vegetables, the roast potatoes were very dry and hard around the edges, not crunchy. The roast beef portion was a good size but quite a lot of it was "chewy". Service a bit slow but they were fairly busy.

Cold food waited ages for replacement food we gave up waiting went to bar for refund to be told we had requested for fresh food , I said no , had a refund never again will go there

Went for dinner 3 of us . Order steak and chip's the chip's I would say we're leftovers from earlier dinner soaked in oil , onion rings same, steak was like a rasher. Lasagne with very little mince tiny portion. Chicken that was out of the microwave no serviettes had to ask for cutlery, NEVER NEVER AGAIN

Sam, Alex, Antonia.... Guys fantastic service fair play. I have food allergies and the chef made the best meal with extra care and attention. Will be coming again with out a doubt they cater for all and even when they are busy they are polite and patient. Well done

Was very disappointed. Had a party of 11 for my mums birthday most of the food delivered was cold sent one back we all finished by the time they had redone this one a lot of food we paid for was wasted as it wasn't hot enough to heat will not return also no steak available

All ok except steak was chewy and tough. Poor quality for £17.50!

Terrible food.. waited 30 minutes for the food wich was ok as expected.. but it was cold and over cooked .. chips had been mixed with older chips hence the dark brown ones withe lighters ones ..plus paid extra for a larger poition all together about 30 chips in total and yes I did ask the server if this amount was was correct .she said (yeah it was) the pie crust was so hard I only ate the filling wich was stone cold 🥶 side of peas 🫛 well one folk full .. shocking 😱 4 star 🌟 review will not be there again ! Mc Donald's can do better .. total waste 🗑 of money £13 💰.. stay clear from this rip off place .... only gave a 1 star because I had to to be able to post this reviewing post

We've visited the pub many times, but this was our first time staying in hotel. We stayed for 3 nights, Thursday - Saturday. Overall, a great experience and will definitely stay with you again as convenient for us when in area. Constructive feedback - there was no towel rail in room for us to dry towels so we could reuse so you ended up changing everyday. And I suspect the extractor fan in bathroom was faulty as got very humid and damp in there after 4 of us has showered in the morning! Everything else was great, staff were lovely and friendly and we look forward to staying with you again.

Spent the evening at the Sessile Oak Llanelli with my wife and son for food and drinks on Valentine's day. On arrival we were told by a friendly bar maid Vickie to sit anywhere and when your ready to order come to the bar with your table number. We ordered drinks first with Kacey who had the best personally ever. We ordered our food with Amy who was polite and very professional and you could see she loved her job. Our food was delivered by Nikki who was again polite just like the other staff. We come here every Friday night after a hard weeks work this is the place we just relax in a fantastic atmosphere and served by brilliant staff. The service weather it's drinks or food is fast and efficient and the staff go out of their way to make you experience at the Sessile Oak a great one. Plenty of bar staff, quick service and always a pleasure to come here week after week. See you next Friday - Kerri Evans

Made a booking for Valentines Day a week ago. Despite their email saying someone would be there to greet us, we were ignored solidly for 15 minutes on arrival. We tried to talk to 3 members of staff, who all averted their eyes, walked off, or shouted over us to other customers / their colleagues. We eventually left, and went to the Joiners Arms instead. Much friendlier staff there - and thankfully they had a table at 6.30pm on Valentine's Day! Needless to say, we will never be returning to the Sessile Oak! Edit - I can see that someone from the Sessile Oak has read my review, and thanked me for my feedback. If the restaurant manager reads this, I would like to suggest they hire hosts / greeters (especially for special occasions) and put in place some customer service training.

Lovely restaurant with great food but the welcoming staff are the real reason we return each week. In particular special mention to Vickie Nikki amy and kasey especially on such a busy night as valentine !!!!

Came here today after 1-2 years. Surprised to see there was a pool table which was nice! The lady behind the bar (dark hair with a fringe didn’t get her name) who served us was amazing especially as I had a few amendments, asked straight if we had any allergies and served us quickly and professional! Food was great, however only downside which is why I marked 4 stars was that the fries weren’t hot more warm and a bit crispy but definitely still more than edible! Will definitely be making more of an effort to come here now we have moved closer.

This is our favourite place when visiting Trostre Retail Park. Great service and food. Unfortunately, this time around, our full breakfast was a little cold and undercooked, hence just 4 stars, but may be because it was close to the end of breakfast service.

nice place in principle but lacks quality control in the food that comes out of the kitchen. 4 out of 4 visits has resulted in food being sent back to the kitchen because of quality control issues. Won't be going back. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Had an amazing dining experience at the Sessile Oak. Food was hot, fresh, and delicious, but the best part was the service my party received! Special shout out to Vickie, Amy, Kieran, and Harrison who went above and beyond to make our visit one to remember. 10/10 would dine again

The food was excellent and the toilets were exceptionally clean.

Sunday afternoon 19th Jan - Having just had a bad experience at a Llanelli Brewers Fayre we stumbled upon this place on our one-hour drive home and gave it a go.. What a positive difference. Atmosphere and layout of the table settings was so much more pleasing, uncluttered and roomy. Approached the staff at the bar and asked about food and were greeted with warmth and a welcome from the tattooed lady behind the bar. We took a seat, gave our table number and paid for one main carvery and one vegetarian dinner(and there were choices of veggie meal) and then proceeded to get our food with no fuss. Plenty of food was available and a choice of lovely looking meats for the non-veggie eater... as one would expect at a carvery!!. A decent selection of vegetables was also available to choose from. We filled our plates and found that the gravies were all suitable for vegetarians too. Well done guys. Next thing was to EAT the food. Lovely succulent meats with fab taste and the veggies were equally as good.... so much so that for only the second time in such an establishment, we both went for seconds of the vegetables. Consequently, neither of us wanted a dessert, but were reliably informed that a decent selection of desserts were available. The place was pretty clean throughout and the only negative inside was a few sheets of paper on the floor in the toilet which other dirty customers were responsible for! They would be cleaned soon after. Outside, there is tarmac car parking but this is limited but there is an ample sized overflow carpark with level access for wheelchair users BUT... the surface of the overflow carpark has deteriorated somewhat and wheelchair access would be possible, but a little bumpy.. i.e. it could do with a new re-surfacing!. The main carpark seems fine. Overall, we were very well pleased with our experience here and would certainly place it on our list of places to eat again if we find ourselves hungry and in the vicinity again.

Food was awful. Had a carvery and the gravy was like water. Yorkshire pudding was like rubber and could not cut it. Stuffing was not cooked and full of huge lumps. Place has gone downhill over the last year. Won't be returning

Very poor. Despite pre-booking a Boxing Day menu for 2 the table was not set up properly with only one set of knife and fork (we had to take from another table for our mains) & no table cloth. Starters were served 10 mins apart, akin to a relay race!!! My wife ordered a carvery meal & I had ordered a Salmon En Croute, both of which had to be collected from the carvery - strange to say the least. Dessert, we both had Berry Crumble, was piping hot including the bowl it was served in. Unfortunately the custard was cold. Also when booking we asked for a bench seat as, being diasabled, I have difficulty sitting on a single chair. Despite the pub being only 25% full, that request was not fulfilled. We have always believed the Sessille Oak to be one of the best places to go for meal anywhere in West Wales but after yesterday they will never see us again. Sad really.

Had my Christmas dinner there this year, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this place. You won't be disappointed 🙂

Xmas day experience was so well done ,well organised the food was outstanding the temperature was not too hot inside the building and the staff and manager were fantastic.We have had some bad experiences over the years at this pub .This made up for all of them ,see you soon and definitely next Xmas

Enjoyed everything and not rushed

We visited here today for Christmas lunch and the four of us thoroughly enjoyed. Lovely food and lovely staff. Good price for a three course for Xmas day. My large wine at almost £12 a glass knocked me sideways but besides that an enjoyable time.

It was a brilliant experience. The staff were all friendly, and the welcome was friendly. The prices are good, and the food is tasty. I highly recommend it.

We visited today for Breakfast with Santa and it was such a good experience. The food was lovely, the place was clean and tidy and Santa was brilliant. He made an effort to come round every single table and talk to all the kids. It didn’t feel rushed or cheap. But most of all, the staff were absolutely outstanding. Attentive, friendly and efficient. It was very busy but not once did they let on that they were stressed or under pressure. Always either serving customers, clearing tables, answering questions or helping kitchen staff. My husband is vegan and there was still plenty of options for him with Ben being very mindful of cross contamination. I want to give a special mention to Ben, Emily and Eli especially as they were gold star throughout. Excellent morning. Thanks for putting a huge smile on the kids faces. Merry Christmas x

£6.30 a pint and the worst carvery I’ve ever tried to eat, diabolical.

We always stay here when visiting family prior to Christmas. The only criticism is the strong smell of cannabis at the doorway to the accommodation block and particularly at 6.50am this morning (20/12/24) which must have been blowing through the heating flew. Otherwise a nice place to stay and eat. The staff a exceptional.

Took an age for the soup starter to come, and having ordered leek and potato I got tomato. No apology, just “that’s what we have”. Soup was nice though. Main was good. In summary, food good, service not so much.

Only popped in for a drink but carvery looked and smelt delicious dessert were so pretty too. Big place tables not too close to each other.. would go bk again. Will try food next time. Funny thing all the time I've gone shopping here I've never noticed this pub!!

Amazing service! Friendly staff with a homely feel. Tasty meal for the family and good, well kept beer for the gents of the family. Will be returning very soon

2 guests had 3 courses. 1 x prawn cocktail - bowl full of lettuce topped with 5 prawns and a light drizzling of sauce. 1 x chicken strip and popcorn combo which was light on the bbq sauce and the chicken was like it have been cooked yesterday and today. Both had carvery, the meat had some taste to it and was nice, the Yorkshire pudding was like cardboard even when soaked in gravy. The carrots and peas were rock hard, good enough to put in a pea shooter. The stuffing was nice. The cauliflower cheese was OK. Desert - the only only bareable part of the meal. The apple crumble could of done with a few more minutes under the grill and twice the amount of custard. Rocky road sundae was nice.

Fantastic service, although it was really busy, and we were a large party, the team were so friendly, and provided great service. It was the best experience I've had there!

I have been to many Marsden pubs throughout the country and this is by far my worst experience Being a vegetarian I always have the cheeses leek and potato pie as it is absolutely gorgeous on this occasion when the pie arrived at my table it looked like it had collapsed when I enquired they told me it was like that as they microwave there pies!!!! Needless to say I could not eat it as the pastry tasted Raw!! Absolutely terrible never again it has put me off ever frequenting one of your pubs again Absolutely Shocking!!!!!

Friday 6th Dec 24, 1pm. Three of us had the carvery. None eat more than 40%, it was terrible. The fourth person had a jacket potato with chilli which was okay. A complaint was made prior to our table being cleared of the waste food. To my knowledge the complaint was not acknowledged but I was busy in the toilet dispatching the little I had eaten.

Absolutely amazing service, especially by Emily 💖 But all the team are amazing always welcoming 😍 my lil family love coming for a game of pool, watching sports and enjoy the food and drinks 🥳

Food was cremated in a furnace from hell, hairs in food, got 2 meals instead of a meal and a side costing extra, staff are nice though but just issues with food

Alex behind the bar was very helpful, friendly and polite, took our food order which we had a few alterations to, everything arrived exactly as we asked. Generous portion sizes and good value for money.

Booked the hotel for a cheap and easy place to stay when visiting family. Room was lovely and just what we needed. Room was quiet and comfortable. Easy to access and location was great to get to where we needed to be. We also ate in the pub, food was excellent. Atmosphere is great and just a nice place to relax as it wasn't too noisy. Definitely will stay again when we need to visit family.

Very friendly staff, great food, great value. Stayed in hotel so had breakfast and dinner. Carvery had loads of meat and veg was amazing. Breakfast was plentiful and again lovely. Staff have been amazing throughout our stay.

Myself and my husband looked forward to a roast and usually it is delicious but today was awful, the sprouts were hard, the beef was tough and did not taste like beef and the roast potatoes tasted odd, we were really disappointed as we do not go out much and this is our treat. Will be thinking hard about returning

Came here for my son in law's wake. An area was sectioned off for us. Plenty of food available in the buffet my daughter had arranged. Also went to alot of trouble to set up a laptop so we could see photos of Pete.

Great service from Vickie this evening (12/11/2024) it was myself and three feral children! Vickie watched my kids while I went up to the carvery, was pleasant to myself and kids and even gave them all a squidgy toy for being so good! She also helped me get the kids back in their coats and wellies when leaving which was really helpful. Lovely lady. Thank you Vickie, you made quite a stressful meal time that bit easier :)

We had a lovely delicious Sunday lunch today. We both had pork, it was gorgeous. The veg trimmings, gravy tasty. The staff and chef very friendly. Will definitely return and recommend.

Pleasant room, good size, nice shower, sensible heating controls, very comfortable bed, pretty quiet once other guests had settled. Carvery meal generally good - cauliflower cheese was very undercooked and some of the vegetables were not very hot. Meat serving was generous, all meats tender and properly cooked. Sticky tables and menu. No cutlery on our table or any nearby, no idea where to find it. Meal was okay, beef was hard and burnt on the outside. Team seemed very young think maybe some maturity on the team might help with customer experience.
