Hagan's Smashed My Breakfast! What a meal! What a service! What a delicious place to eat! I arrived at the cafe. I was starving hungry. I'd only eaten a three course breakfast, a cheese board, and a small amount of budgie pàté that morning, so as you can imagine, I was ravenous. Delirious with hunger. Tweeking like a junkie in rehab. Ranting like a 1980s post match interview. Slurring my word like a wrestler after one too many piledrivers to the head. When I stumbled across Hagan's. I was immediately greeted by a friendly man who identified himself as an Undertaker (he was toe wrestling a man he called Kane). He was extremely friendly and kept offering me a tombstone (I bought mine by saving my pocket money when I was ten. I didn't know the day I'd die so I just stuck a pin in a calender. I've been dead for 60 years, but I'm looking good!) I took my chair at a table, which he offered to slam me through, I politely declined. He handed me the menu. I browsed and decided to have a full English Breakfast (can't go wrong). The portion was bigger than Andre the Giant. Heaving mass of protein. Steaming mountains of mushrooms. Tomatoes so red they looked like they'd been put in a head lock by Randy Orton. I couldn't have cooked better myself and I was once Gorden Ramsay's anger management coach on Hell's Kitchen. Food and service was outstanding

Definitely no frills but it served a very nice fish and chips. The curry was also very nice.

The food is always spot on, but it is a very popular cafe so spaces are limited. My only criticism is that I find it very smokey in there and it makes my eyes sting after a while.

This place was recommended by the hotel I was staying in. It's tucked away on a side street about 5 mins from the railway station. Doesn't look much from the outside and the inside's not much better, but oh my, the food is something else. Plenty of choice - chicken nuggets, 3 sizes of fish, homemade rissoles (which looked good) etc. I ordered medium fish (cod), large chips, large peas and large curry sauce, which came to approx £14. The fish was freshly cooked to order. Initially I was only given reg chips but the gentleman serving called me back and gave me the extra to make it up to a large portion. He didn't have to do this as I wouldn't have known the difference and couldn't even finish the reg portion as it turns out. Anyway the fish was crispy and delicious. The chips and peas were tasty and everything was non-greasy. The curry was flavoursome, and not too spicy. I eat F&C at least once a week and this was the best I've had in the last 2 years or so, just a shame it's so far from where I live in the North West

We have found this amazing gem of a place. The food, staff and friendly patrons have made these last x2 weeks really enjoyable for my mum. She has chatted to many friendly people and wants to return daily. Thankyou for Always being Kind & Friendly. 🙏💕🙏💕

Brilliant food we had fish and chips on our 1st visit and a cooked breakfast on our 2nd visit. Large portions and cooked to perfection. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly.

Atmosphere, well its a take away. Not essential. Had a cornbeef Rissol and a Cheese Rissol for a quick lunch. Excellent. Can highly recommend the Cheese Rissols 👍😊

The staff were friendly and accommodating, the service didn’t take long and I enjoyed my food immensely. Reasonably priced and to be honest, we need more places like this. Good, affordable cafe food. Not avocado toast.

Food is always great here. Decent portions and not bad pricing either. Some of the staff can be a bit quiet/miserable but we all have bad days. Can be a little chilly in there sometimes too but all in all, a great cafe

Wide range of food on the menu. Usually pop in for brunch on a Sunday, small to large portions. Often see the roast dinners being served and they look very tempting and such a great price!

Went for breakfast after a lot of people haved raved saying the breakfast is brilliant. Jeepers wept, never again. Feel sick leaving with the grease from the food, and the greasy floors!

Lovely homemade food, just like you had when you were a child.

The last great greasy spoon cafe in Carmarthen and possibly Wales. And that's said in a complimentary spirit. A very transport cafe vibe. Reminiscent of the 70s and 80s. Simple menu with classic British fare. The breakfasts are the star of the show and available in a selection of sizes all day. Well kept toilets including a well equipped disabled and baby changing area. A local legend among its faithful fans.

Excellent staff, service and food. The staff are always cheerful and helpful. Service is excellent with everything freshly prepared and cooked Food is of an exceptional standard and very competitively priced. Called on a number of occasions with my mother, wife and grandchildren and never been disappointed

OK if you fancy a quick snack and don't mind your surroundings. It's a bit scruffy, noisy and the staff are a bit grumpy.

I have been here twice in this last six months and tbh the food has given me the stomach cramps and diarrhoea twice now I haven’t gotten off the toilet all day I lost days of work because I have eaten here disgusting place for food slow service Grubby tables

Just had lovely fish chips and peas - delicious!! Not at all greasy! Staff friendly. Toilets and cafe look basic but VERY clean. Recommend trying out if you’re passing like we just did.

Good value food and staff are great

I like this cafe. This is very useful when you are shopping on the Pensarn Shopping estate. The staff were prompt and attentive and there was a good range of food on the menu. This cafe is located on the ground floor so access for physically challenged is perfect. There are toilet facilities here with easy access. This cafe is located adjoining the fish bar and I have to say the fish was lovely. There is plenty of seating which looks deceiving from the street. To find this cafe it is located just across the street from the Royal Mail sorting office. (You can't miss it). This is a nice cafe with a good lunchtime menu. So, If you need a break from shopping this would be a good place to visit.

Food isn't bad from here but with all honesty the store really does need to make itself more appealing! If you visit in the evening, you only know it is there if you actually know it is there! The exit is through an atrium type exit, with no lights above the door as you exit, therefore, watch your step as you leave! The service...well..perhaps a smile or two would have made a difference....you may hate working there but geez....I don't really want to know that!

Stopped here twice now and so pleased with everything staff friendly, quick service also clean and tidy each meal we've had can't fault, the place is always busy so that says a lot will be visiting again.

Usually grab a takeaway from here, but opted for dine in this time. A cafe, no fuss and frills place. Serving all day breakfast, toasted sandwiches, jacket potatoes, kids options and more. Keeping it simple - cod and chips. Good service, food was nice and prices reasonable.

Very expensive place to have food I wood never recommend it to any person food hygiene is not very good staff going out side for a fag then not washing there hands after being out side picking up the food with there hands no gloves worn no hair nets worn should be up to the food safety regulations to wear them when doing food.

Always love food at Hagan's from their awesome full breakfast to theirs Sunday dinner that always reminds me of mammies when I was a kid. All staff are so welcoming and happy to see me and my son.

Usually spot in but found a hair in my breakfast this morning, noticed staff cooking didn't wear hair nets. Not good.

Waiting for our car to be repaired in garage next door to the fish and chip shop decided to go for coffee.We looked through the menu and were impressed by the price of pensioners lunch…..£6.50 which included a tea or coffee.It was a . No brainier.We ordered one faggots,peas and mash and a gammon and egg and chips wow….really generous sized meals.Very impressed,lovely meals,will certainly be back.All that for £13.50 for two!!That would not be enough to pay for a single meal in Saundersfoot where I live. Very busy,fast efficient table service. Will be back.

Roast beef dinner, meat was lovely , Roast potatoes completely inedible hard on the outside completely dried up in the middle. Really disappointed with the meal.

We go every Saturday morning for breakfast before doing the weekly shop and it literally sets us up for the day. Good value and generous portions of food 👍

A great place for a lovely cooked breakfast!

This is by far our absolute favourite cafe for a proper English breakfast. The eggs are always cooked perfectly, the sausages are divine and the bacon is so thick you could use it for a doorstop. We have never been disappointed. Highly recommended.

Guys I’ve never ever left a review before but I’ve had to today We ordered a curry rice & chips , waited to long for it & when it came it was pretty much from a packet , a small handful of watery rice & curry & poor chips to go with it We Also ordered a chicken dinner that came 10 mins later & was cold I’ve owned cafes , food vans & was brought up in the pub business This was very poor I know the staff are young but tottaly non engaging with no obvious training Now if you want a top class meal drive 13 mins to CAFE JAS cross hands lights Thank me later

Don't know about the cafe. I use the take out. Plentiful chips with my favourite - their home made corned beef rissole. Other choices look appetising.

We have visited on several occasions for a Sunday lunch which is reasonably priced and plentiful. So we had no qualms in visiting today (Thursday) for lunch. At 66 years old and pre-diabetic my appetite isn’t huge and I ordered a pensioners sausage and mash, not badly priced, or so I thought, at £6.50. However, when my lunch arrived I was very disappointed to see that I had been served what amounted to be a plateful of dry (difficult to swallow and presumed to be powdered) mashed potato with one very small sausage to the side. I waited for gravy to arrive, when it didn’t, I asked if I was going to get any. I was told that, dependant upon the amount I wanted, it would cost an additional £1.50 or £2.20! So, if you fancy a plateful of horrible, very dry mashed potato, that leaves a nasty aftertaste, together with a very small sausage with not a drop of gravy or a pea in sight-I highly recommend this place

Well dissappinted with our meal today. Had a take away or would have returned it. Been going here for years and always had a lovely meal. Sausages seemed they had been recorded as batter was beyond tuff not crispy. Chips were luke warm and very greasy

£7.00 for cod bites and chips!!! Then the bloke kept on calling me sir, when he asked if I wanted salt and vinegar he got me to do it myself!!! Poor service, poor quality food it wasnt even hot it was luke warm.

If you are looking for a traditional chip shop cafe with bloody good breakfast and good prices, this is the place for you. If you want velvet seats, fancy coffee and avocado, go somewhere else 👍

This place is amazing.. The menu is vast.. Prices are reasonable.. Staff are friendly and helpful.. The food is delicious, and the chips are to die for.. Plenty of seating and has bigger tables for larger groups.. Plenty of parking too. A must try if you haven't already

I have been going to Hagans for a number of and the quality of service and food is as excellent now as it was the first time; which is why I keep going back. The best breakfast in town and very reasonably priced too.

I've been here many many times and NEVER had a bad experience always had great and friendly staff serve me and always generous on the chip amount. this one guy behind the counter no idea what his name is but has great banter. And overall great food.

I’ve been a very loyal customer here for many years but on my last visit I could not believe the attitude of a staff member when I questioned the cost of my meal. It was tomatoes on 2 toast 2 sausage and black pudding with tea. This is something I had on a regular basis and was always charged around £4.50 but on this visit I was charged £9. I had already just paid by card as I couldn’t hear her with all the background noise but I double checked and she said £9 I said that can’t be right as it has never costed that much but was told it’s the new rules and that’s it and walked off. I went home and messaged them on Facebook to try and get an answer but got this response. I'm sorry you feel that way, the price has always been on the menu and the owner sets the prices. The staff have been told to adhere to new rules to ensure that customers are correctly charged for their order. As you can appreciate costs have gone up considerably and we need to ensure consistency in the charges as on the menu. I hope this gives you an insight as to why this has happened. Thanks Hagan's I totally understand about price rises but doubled??? I don’t think so! I can’t believe I felt so upset and angry about this that I had to write a review. I have always praised them in the past but this is such a letdown . Please see photo and judge for yourself.

Excellent chips! Prices are reasonable and the service is always friendly. Its also easy to park outside, so makes getting a takeaway really easy and convenient. There is also a restaurant, but I have never used it, so I don't know what it is like.

Went on a trip after the cinema, absolutely vile 🤢, would not recommend, onion rings weren’t cooked, chips had been sat for hours, absolutely terrible.

Amazing place, the fish was made fresh to order and the portion sizes are huge!! The fantastic staff bent over backwards to help. All in all a great place to eat great hot fish and chips. I cant recommend enough!!

Was waiting in the que and a woman came from the back (grey hair with glasses) starts picking up chips and eating them then continuing to eat chips. No gloves nothing bare hands all over the chips that’s are being served to the general public!! What I seen was enough to make me not want to eat at this establishment anymore. This use to be my preferred chippy but after today I don’t think I’ll be back. Hygiene is key!
