we went there following the Scottish Elvis festival finale, which was running late and although the restaurant closes at 9 pm, it stayed open to accommodate guests. The food was lovely, really enjoyed my steak and my significant other enjoyed her lemon sole. we can also recommend the black forest gateau. The staff were pleasant, hard working polite and efficient, and a credit to the hotel. Rest rooms were spotless and it was a very enjoyable experience

Visited with family while on holiday. We rang to book for 10 of us, and couldn’t have the time we wanted but it was ok for half hour later. This was fine with us but when we arrived the huge dining room only had one other table of 2 in the whole evening. Lovely location on the waterfront but very dated decor. Our food was mostly very nice. The seafood linguine especially was a hit. However we ordered 4 pizzas; 2 came with the rest of the table’s meals but 2 were delayed. The waiter told us that this was because the pizza oven only holds 2 pizzas at a time, and apologised. About 5 mins later one more pizza arrived and then the final pizza about another 5 mins after that. The pizzas had a lovely crispy base (deep pan style) but too much cheese and toppings made the top wet. Overall ok but also quite expensive (£17 for a vegetarian pizza for example). The children’s menu was different to what was shown on the website, however the chef was accommodating and made our daughter a tomato pasta dish, which she really enjoyed.

We stopped in for Sunday lunch. Alongside the carvery they have a full restaurant menu, but we had the carvery. Good portions and lovely veg and roasties. Dessert was a cheesecake. Very nice. Staff were attentive and friendly and a good atmosphere with lots of locals also enjoying the Sunday lunch.

Great lunch, friendly staff and warm welcome. We really enjoyed the New York Deli sandwich and messy fries with spicy chicken. It was our first visit but will definitely go back.

Both had the fish and chips. It came quickly and was nicely cooked. The cheesecake dessert was delicious. Had two glasses of wine which was reasonably priced. The service throughout was very friendly. Overall good value and a good bar meal. We will come back.

Decent evening meal. Was fairly quiet on a Sunday so they were serving in the Ghillie Bar rather than the restaurant. Salmon was tasty, perfectly cooked and well presented.

We stopped here after visiting Eilean Donan Castle. We had made a reservation ahead of time. We were seated promptly. The service was ok. The menu was limited. The food was really good. We got the Pan Fried Duck Breast (GBP24) and Dornie Fish & Chips (GBP19). I absolutely loved the duck! Very tasty! The Fish & Chips was good but slightly on the smaller portion side compared to other places. We got cheesecake for desert and it was really good. I would definitely recommend this place!

Can't comment on the prices which were steep as 4 of us were on a golf deal which included an evening meal here, and a stay at Cameron House with Breakfast. Food was very good nice staff only slight complaint is we waited on sweets for a while and had to remind them.

We sat outside for 15 minutes then went into the bar to ask , only to be told that they don't do food anymore. The advertising outside says they do .

I was trying the new menu and it was really interesting. Bold flavours playing with Scottish products. Plenty of veggie and vegan options out of the classic (the vegan pastrami sandwich was amazing). Affordable prices. 100% recommended.

AVOID! Very disappointed with our visit to the Boathouse. We were outside with our small dog, assuming the outdoor area would be pet-friendly like most cafes (and like it has been in the past). Instead when we were turned away, the owner came out and confronted us in a surprisingly rude manner telling me that people are allergic to my hypoallergenic dog OUTSIDE. There was no polite request—just an uncomfortable and unnecessary scene. It completely ruined the vibe. Definitely not a place I’d recommend. AVOID! Get with the times, it’s 2025 and majority of the public have dogs. Treating us like 2nd class citizens when you allow screaming, snotty brats who misbehave - great business moto!
