The best restaurants serving British food in Scotland

tionist who checked us in and explained all about the hotel and its restaurant. We booked breakfast for following day. Our room was on the 3rd floor and was deemed double deluxe. Upon entering I found it clean tidy and well done out with tv,large mirror ,cupboard and bed with ensuite bath and shower. it was comfortable enough with extra pillows in said cupboard. All electrics are powered by your door card so you cant really forget or lose it. Only problem was it was a warm night but if you opened the window a lot of traffic noise was unleashed. But dinner and breakfast in the restaurant was excellent(seperate reveiw)

Lovely juicy burger and a surprisingly nice Greene King beer called False 9. Long time since I've enjoyed a Greene King beer. Another return visit. This time a nice piece of breaded fish and bottle of Birds & Bees. Was very enjoyable.

Myself and work colleagues came here for a works night out. We booked the table weeks in advance for food and drinks. When we turned up, we got our table right away, and we ordered drinks. The drinks were really nice and we enjoyed them. We ordered another round, and we waited 30 minutes for the cocktails to arrive. When we went up to order food, we got told they were not serving food. When we asked why, as we had booked in to get our dinner. We got told that they had a table of 30 coming, so they were too busy to take any more food orders. We ended up drinking the rest of our drinks and left. We thought it was disgraceful that we booked weeks in advance for food to be turned down on the day. I think that's awful customer service, and I don't think I'll be back again.

A group of 10 stayed for one night and had dinner. The staff were extremely friendly and the standard of food was excellent. Lovely clean rooms with beautiful views. We even topped the night off with the Northern Lights appearing.

Beware!!!! Only serving breakfast if you're lucky. No longer serving lunch or dinner despite website declaring otherwise. No facility to book on line as there are virtually no facilities. Exactly the same scenario with the restaurant at the Premier Inn in Dumfries!!!

Great varied menu with excellent kids choices , very friendly staff who always make time to chat to my 3 year old daughter when we visit

Conozco este pub desde hace muchos años y ha cambiado de manos muchas veces. Si bien la comida siempre es excelente, el lugar necesita ser dirigido mucho mejor. El personal está en su mayoría bien, pero en algunas ocasiones he sido testigo de que son muy groseros y stand offish. La entrada tiene un letrero que dice esperar a estar sentado, bueno se puede esperar una eternidad (incluso cuando no está ocupado) como las chicas charlan y se ríen en el bar nunca hay ninguna urgencia para saludar a sus clientes que es una verdadera decepción. Es una buena mina de un pub si solo se ejecutara mejor. Espectáculo pobre

I rarely review hotel, but I really want to give a big shout out to the super friendly staff i encountered at the hotel. Everyone had been amazing and very kind and patient to guests. This made me feel better about the basic room I got at the hotel. While the room served its function, it’s far from a nice experience to stay there. I heard the deluxe room was much better, I wish I didn’t save a few bucks to go for the basic room. Please anyone who plan to stay here, go for the deluxe room!!

A great place for a good pint of Guinness after a walk around Loch Arddunain.

I’ve not been to Craigmarloch in such a long time (many years). We ordered two mixed grills which were cooked to perfection with peppercorn sauce. The food was not only tasty but of good quality, was really hot (which is a bonus) and was excellent value for money. Definitely will be back.

Food is lovely at that pub.It's a nice quiet place

Cosy, clean, and also very good noise level, which is appreciated by neurodivergent people! The food and drinks are delicious, and there's an amazing range to try. There are a ton of vegetarian and vegan options for food and drink, and a wonderful staff member helped to customise a drink to make it decaf and vegan! The staff are all lovely and helpful, and are so quick at making everything that it's almost surreal. We'll definitely be back!

Booked 2 weeks ago for valentines night to be phoned 4 hours before booking and told they couldnt honour the booking, what a disgusting place i wouldn't eat here now if it were free seriously !!! Managment should be sacked no wonder locals do not use this hotel, avoid at all costs
