The service and food is 1st class. I have got to know the staff very well and I’d just like to thank Lavina, Kerry and Sophie for always being pleasant with me. Regards, Jordan

I took my son to The Remedy Cafe today mid-afternoon. He ordered one of the all-day breakfast items and I ordered a fruit scone. On the positive, the food items were tasty and well-presented. We did have to wait quite a length of time for the food to arrive. Our drinks (coke and coffee) then arrived when my son has almost finished his food, which wasn’t great. The welcome and general interaction with staff members could have been warmer also. Finally, in order to pay our bill, we had to join the length takeaway queue, which wasn’t a great experience either and do perhaps this system could be reconsidered. Again, the food was good, and the cakes also looked terrific, it’s the service they isn’t quite up to scratch in my opinion.

Lovely little cafe right at the beach. Best coffee I have been served in a cafe in a long time - even the cup and saucer were lovely! I ordered breakfast which looked amazing, tasted amazing and was such good value! The perfect hidden gem!

The cafe's location couldn't be better. I didn't have food today but noted that on offer, and overall it looked attractive and appetising. The service was polite and competent - no complaints. The main issue is the coffee. Tastes vary I know, but as a coffee lover I must say what was being served was really quite unpleasant to my taste. This is the second time I've had not very nice coffee in this cafe - I had hoped this was a 1-off problem but it seems not. I returned my cup today and the staff member who dealt with this offered me a 'single shot' coffee to try as a replacement. This was a slight improvement but still barely drinkable - it's really very bitter tasting and acidic. Another type of coffee blend is not on offer. I think this is a big problem for this cafe. If I return it will have to be tea! It's such a pity as I live nearby and want to support local enterprise. The coffee is blended by a local company too, so this is doubly frustrating. I would suggest they do some research on coffee tastes and try another blend. What is being served presently is bad.

Serving hatch is a good idea, stopped people like me feeling guilty of having dirty feet in a premise’s . Coffees were good, they may not have had the flapjack, but the paradise cake was tops. Great location too.

The majority of the staff here are nice people and very helpful. There’s one girl, blonde with tattoos who is terrible. She spoke to the other staff in a disgusting manner while I was sat having my coffee. Then was speaking about other customers who were still in the cafe, so they could hear with such judgement and attitude. They really had done nothing wrong. She lets the team down.

Food was alright however did not get the bread i asked for, I have an intolerance to white bread and I was given it and staff appeared annoyed to change it to brown. Staff appeared to have an attitude towards customers paying before myself and then spoke down to my partner when we asked to pay for the bill. Soup was great! Sandwich not so. All in all, a perfect location for a swift walk along the beach and a takeaway coffee however I won’t be returning for food as it is the 2nd visit that I have felt staff cannot be bothered serving. Such a shame, would love it if the staff were nicer!

We had been before for breakfast which was great. Today we had a ham and cheese sandwich and a tuna sandwich. Both made with cheap brown bread which seemed like morrisons own. Tuna has a couple of teaspoons of filing. I took it back and apparently more was added but I couldn't tell. The cheese was 1 thin slice as was the ham ehich made it tasteless. The were served with about 6 crisps no sslad/coleslaw. Tuna was advertised as having onion but there was none. To charge £4.70 for each sandwich of such poor quality as takeaway is shocking. The 1 point given is for the coffee which was lovely.

Saturday 10th June. Very disappointed with the customer service this morning to the point, I cancelled my order and left. What happened this morning was simply unacceptable and down right rude, I parked directly facing the takeaway door the woman who, I don’t recognise (New staff member) seen me approaching and turned her back and walked away, normally there is a bell on the counter at the door which wasn’t there this morning so I waited 2/3 mins and could see that the staff members where just having a chat amongst themselves not caring about the customer so, I decided to go in and the same member of staff says is it take away to which I replied yes and she proceeds to say you need to order outside to which my reply was you clearly seen me coming and turned your back and walked away the place was dead with 5 staff members on site she replied you should ring the bell again I reply there is no bell on the counter this morning seems she wants to get into a confrontation so I politely say just cancel that order and leave. Being the owner of two local businesses myself, it’s a shame some staff are not up to scratch in terms of face to face customer service and personable service.

Coffee was good but OMG the sandwich was a disgrace … cheap bread which was obviously out of date as the crusts were hard and the bread was nowhere near soft, also cheap butter which you could taste … 2 small pieces of bread and abt 5 crisps and a pot of watery salad which was awful cost me £4.50 !!! Wasn’t worth £1.50 …. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be back … so sad as it could be a great place for dog walkers and beach lovers.. but needs to be good food !!!!

Have visited The Remedy when in Ayr numerous times. I'd have to agree with other reviewers that indeed service can be somewhat slow & without a smile. There are usually 5 staff (incl the owner working). With a small menu & I think 6 tables to serve there seems to be a lack of staff motivation & general lethargy. As other reviewers have mentioned staff do consistently play with their phones. Having said that the coffee (Rocket Monkey) is good & the homemade cakes by a local lady tasty.

I come to this cosy café quite often in the mornings. İt's in a perfect location to stop by; after the morning walk. Lovely staff. Freshly grounded coffee. Food is also very fresh and healthy. Lot's of parking is available in front of the cafe. Convenient location by Ayr sea front. Highly recommended, we are the Remedy.

I recently moved to Ayr and this cafe is a few minutes walk from the house. The USP for this place is the view. Which is lovely. However I have to say that the service is poor. So much so I ended up walking out. None of the staff acknowledged me entering despite having to walk past them and having been in once before with my wife. No pleasantries whatsoever. I found myself a table and sat for fifteen minutes and during that time no one came to greet me or ask if I would like a coffee or even if they could help with the menu. As I said I’ve previously been in here with my wife and service wasn’t speedy that day either, but I put that down to the place being full of Ayr tourists. Twice during my wait, people walked in up to the bar for takeaway and were immediately served. And despite looking around to catch their attention a couple of times I was still left sitting. So I got up and left. I personally won’t be back, and reading some reviews, it’s clear it’s not an isolated issue, albeit some people did appear to enjoy it, so may just have been an “off” day. I went along to the Secret Garden cafe less than a mile away, was cheerily welcomed, sat down, order taken and served within 10 minutes. Stark contrast sadly.

This is the last Brewers Fayre in Scotland i hadn't visited (now that they have closed the Glasgow ones) So i needed an excuse to tick it off. I was staying next door. The staff were very friendly , there weren't that many but they still seemed to be everywhere and on hand when needed. It wasn't that busy that evening but more did come in throughout the visit. The food service was quick and the meal was tasty. Just disappointed you have now got new kitchen doors which don't match the other ones with pentagon shaped windows! The area we sat in had clearly been freshened up recently with newpaint and carpets.

The West Kirk Restaurant is a delightful gem! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a cozy meal. The menu features a fantastic variety of dishes, each bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The staff is friendly and attentive, making every visit feel special. Highly recommend for a memorable dining experience!

The hotel is very dingy but its extremely old so maybe thats why it hasnt been done up, must be the style their after. The bar staff were quite incompetent. One forgot to give me my change and then later on at night the other barman gave me the wrong can - twice. The breakfast was good and the woman (kirsty i think) was spot on.

The food here is great, the angel cut fish especially and the pizzas are good... But they really need to fix their ventilation. Every time for months I pickup food the atmosphere in the shop is very smokey and hard to breathe. Think what it must be like for the poor staff who work there day in day out? Can't be good for them!
