Ask for 2 Jumbo haddock supper, then sat down , less than 2 minutes later I was called to collect them, as it was rather quick I asked if they were reheated, answer no, I'll call him a liar, £27 for rubbish total rubbish no wonder restaurant was empty , greasy crap, don't go near this place, two lads messing about behind the counter, should be sacked, this was Monday 12 may at 18.15.

Unexpectedly the pictures definitely make the place look better than it is and I hastily booked without checking out the reviews. I guess it is a charming wee hotel and the lift an interesting feature however I probably wouldn't stay here again. The original room we were allocated wasn't the cleanest and having what appeared to be pubic hair in the bath was slightly off-putting. We were upgraded to a new room which appeared much cleaner but as others have said the bathrooms are dated. Location was perfect for us and the event we were attending, and luckily it was only an overnight. Personally, if you are considering this hotel you may want to just book a premier inn or travel lodge instead since you know what to expect for the cost. I'm also surprised no-one has mentioned the weird smell that seems to be around once you have used your card to get through the first doors to the corridor of rooms as well as the rooms themselves. This was prevalent in both floor 3, the room and floor 2 and the upgraded room. The windows in the room do not open and the air con is just a con as the room was warm and had no air all night, as well as the constant noise of the machine meant we were unable to sleep at all. We left at 8am, and the blast of fresh air when leaving the hotel is a feeling of relief we will never forget! Staff were nice and personable so no faults there.

Inexplicably just stopped being a restaurant. Can't find anything about it online. Open but for what purpose I don't know. Now the guests at the associated premier inn next door have nowhere to eat. We were regulars and it was great to have somewhere affordable and reliable to get a meal. We are owed an explanation.

Espero volver pronto.

This grocery store was especially cool, as an American. Ground level parking, mostly covered. You grab your trolley, and head to the escalator. The trolley has magnetic wheels, so it locks onto the escalator which was really neat. The produce selection was small, but varied. The meat selections were very consistent, but you'll be challenged if you love bacon. It's more like.. thin ham slices. Still delicious though. The eggs aren't refrigerated and are on the same aisle as the sugar. If you're gluten free, you're in for a treat! EVERYTHING they had was delicious. Tesco has their own store brand of gf foods and it's better than anything I've ever found in America. THEY HAVE REAL LOAFS OF BREAD!!! Better than anything I've ever had. I brought 2 home in my luggage. There's nice clothes If you're a "member", you can scan your things as you shop and checkout on your own. This is the best market I've ever been to.

Bought one sourdough bread loaf and 3 brownies. He said we can have the last brownie (the fourth) for free yet we still payed £18 all together. No prices shown online and hard to find prices in the shop. Tasted great but not for that amount of money!

This hotel has lots of cosy, quirky corners as well as an impressive larger dining room. We were here for Sunday lunch (note - this menu differs from other days) and were presented with a reasonable choice of well priced mains. Everyone's food was lovely (the roast beef was cooked superbly) - generous portions and beautifully presented. However there was no mention of small portion options which many places now offer - one of the group struggled to even eat even half of the meal (and sadly couldn't even consider dessert) so while the food was lovely, it would have been nice to have had more appropriate options for folk with smaller appetites without wasting food.

Chapter and verse is my favourite restaurant in Forfar. The curries are the best, but the menu offers a good range of options for everyone, let’s say there is a mix of indian and pub meals. Service has always been excellent, fast and excellent value for money. I cannot recommend it high enough, this is because the kitchen staff is talented and consistent preparing high quality meals.
