The Aragon in Glasgow City

Had a fantastic time at the Aragon, the team looked after us spectacularly, even accommodating our request to play the All Blacks rugby game.

One visit on a recent weekend in Glasgow. Only had time for one drink, would have stayed longer if we had time. It was quiz night but we couldn't stay. Staff were friendly, we were served very quickly and reasonable price for a couple of drinks. Would definitely revisit if in the area again.

One of the oldest pub on the byres road. Nice brewed beer and decent price. If you want to taste something authentic please give this pub a visit. It was my 4th time I am never disappointed.

My memory of this pub is hazy but I do remember it being very traditional and filled with students, who created a good atmosphere. Situated around half way up Byres Road and standing out with its hung / picture style window facade, there was a great selection of draught beers on offer, with the added bonus of live sport as well.

Went in last Sunday for a soft drink.. partner got 2 draught cokes.. they were as flat as a pancake.. 2 actually serve that and charge nearly a £5..

Attentive, friendly staff, although a limited choice of ale the Aragon's own cask beer (3.9%) is pretty quaffable. The Bellhaven took me back to 1986 ! Place was mobbed with sports screens. Nice for a swift 'half' if on Byres Road.

Good alternative option on Byres Road if you are after value for money and the sport on the television. Customer base is a good mix of locals, storytellers and their dugs...

Didn't have food but would recommend for sure if you're out on your own and want a nice relaxing pint. Staff couldn't be friendlier also. Will be back.

One of my favourite pubs in Glasgow. As a writer this gives off such writer in winter vibes. Friendly staff, cosy and snug. It’s reasonably priced and always busy, but not overwhelmingly so. At weekend it can get rather hectic, though that’s to be expected when it’s as small as it is. But overall a really nice place for a casual drink or to kick off a night out

Popped in for a pint on our way to a restaurant further up the street. Looked like my sort of pub, well priced beers. Laid back regulars. Barstaff were friendly and the wife was happy to see they did pink Martini on tap! Ended up staying for a couple, nice local sort of atmosphere. If I lived in Glasgow, I’d pop in regular

Old style pub ,but staff are friendly ,used to live round corner so pop in when in area ,don't serve food .

On vacation from California and stopped in to have a pint. Place was almost empty. The girls behind the bar were very pleasant. Both were students at one of the university's and started singing to the music on the radio. Must say both had lovely voices. Would definitely come back

Nice vibe but EXTREMELY rude bar staff. Despite providing legal ID twice they were still suspicious for some unknown reason. When we made an attempt to apologise for the offence we had apparently caused, this was responded to with more hostility. Wouldn’t recommend going if you’re under 40, the staff seem set on keeping it an old fogey’s pub.

Friendly , good service, plenty screens for customers to watch whatever sport they are into. A wee bowl of fresh water for our dog, we will be back

The Aragon is the Aragon is the Aragon. Much loved by many. Always visit on our jaunts through the west end. Worthy of its reputation.

The Aragon is the quintessential pub to visit. While it has a great local feel, it is welcoming to everyone. It has reasonably priced drinks and is ideally located in the West end and close to the University of Glasgow campus. It's a must visit location in the West end and a great place to spend a casual afternoon or evening. Also, very dog friendly. Definitely go visit.
