The Lab in Glasgow City

After having a terrible experience at Wunderbar Glasgow we experienced Totally different vibe at The Lab Glasgow where they could not have been any nicer and helpful. Kyle especially was extremely helpful and professional throughout and we would recommend this bar as racially friendly and a good place to socialise.

Just read that The Lab is shutting down after 25 years. Absolutely gutting. Thanks for many great memories. Wishing the Staff & Custom all the best.

Absolutely had a great night..bar staff excellent tenders & people ....really genuine nice folk. Didn,,t have food loads a good beer n fancy cocktails that blew my head off lol not all ....some lol...Great place 10/10

I love this place. It's so down to earth and reasonably priced for a city centre bar. Great atmosphere, and just really chilled.

Much better atmosphere and service than wunderbar

can’t say i had a good experience here, we were denied to use the bathroom after all of us buying drinks and when the manager saw us talking about what happened he approached us shouting and physically shoving us out, using foul language and calling the girls in my group ugly, I think he acted in such an unprofessional manner and just overall embarrassed himself infront of his customers, place wasn’t anything special anyways.

An excellent venue for alcohol enthusiasts. Tasty test tubes add to the enthusiasm

Very friendly helfpul staff, especially the doorman who helped me find a table. I am a wheelchair user, and they accommodated me and my wheelchair. Well done to all concerned..

Great hidden gem of Glasgow. Brilliant atmosphere and staff are lovely. Good outdoor area and a good selection of drinks. Always worth a visit.

Staff lovely but an awful smell, which we thought was coming from downstairs toilets/drains. This prevented us ordering food. This is the first time I've experienced this in here as its Normally very nice

Great wee pub and great staff especially the older man. Fantastic prices and noyou don't have to leave after two hours we will be back soon . And thanks the staff for a lovely evening.

Quite small and cold. We expected the decor to be more in line with the name. Loved the test tubes on the walls though (want them). Okay prices, quick service even when crowded.

My friend and I went in to have a drink. The man at the bar SHOUTED at us angrily and told us that they were shut. I have never felt so insulted and belittled in my life. After that, my friend, who has a medical pass, asked to use the toilet and yet again, infront of all the customers still drinking in the bar, this man, yelled at my friend and told her she couldn’t use the toilet. I have never felt so unwelcome and insulted in my life. The man had glasses and short dark hair, he must have been a supervisor or someone with authority to speak to us the way he did. Will not be back! No offence to the rest of the staff who seemed like lovely people. I just feel bad for them that they have such stinking management ! I would completely understand if they were shut and politely declined us, but this was the rudest encounter I have EVER HAD!!!!

Great pub Great choice of beers and great service. 5 test tube shots for £5 can't beat that. Give it a try. Was a Wed aft so not that busy to comment on the atmosphere.

Lovely place, lovely people, just came for a drink on Saturday night with 3 pretty Scotish ladies.

The lab is always good. Great service and atmosphere the food is good and it can be busy. Evenings and weekends booking advised. Friendly helpful staff. Prices are also great for the city centre. Out door space is also good. Heaters are on when its cold.

I really like thd pub but the smell of damp was really bad.

Nice bar, hadn't been in for 10+yrs, decor has changed somewhat but nice to see the test tubes still very much present. Lovely vibe and reasonably priced for town drinks.

We only went for a drink on this occasion but as always the staff are friendly and attentive. It's a pub with a very nice atmosphere and it's well run. We managed to get seated in the wee beer garden this time which is pretty rare, only due to its popularity. We pop in most times when in Glasgow and will readily pop back.

Lovely hidden gem I discovered by accident as I was wandering through the city streets. Superb friendly service and a great mix of regulars who have accepted me as their own and gave me lots of recommendations, loved the atmosphere and felt safe as a solo female traveler.

The booze is good but the toilets, seriously!? You have lab technicians and research assistants, its 2023, these are gender assigned jobs, sort your sh!t out

As good as always, hands down the best wee bar in town (with a beer garden). Google has asked if the Lab has changed since my last visit... It's better! And Google has asked yet again... Now it's Apr 23 - still the best beer garden and bar in town. Hands down.

This place is awesome. Nearly forgot it was here as it is tucked away, but every single time I've been it's packed with people, which says a lot about a pub located on a side street. Picture is the delicious tray of test tube shots they offer which are lethal, delicious and amazing value for money.

A lovely hidden bar on the edge of a shopping street. I stumbled on this bar while trying to find a short through Glasgow. I'm delighted that I did. This bar has a small, but great outside area, to drink and eat. Inside comfortable booths line the walls. Good place to have a pint.

Great wee pub and hidden down a back street it is never swarmed but always busy. They do a great pint of Guinness and their signature test-tubes are worth a go. Good for a night out, but in my mind will always be somewhere to sneak off for a pint during a much dreaded shopping trip (a haven)

A Glasgow Institution? Too much? Maybe. Take a break from the shops, enjoy the buzz, grab a beer and a bite. If you can find it, of course.

Great little bar very close to shops in city centre. Pity kitchen is now closed so its bar nibbles only.

This is just off of Buchanan Street, very close to Princes Square Shopping Mall. Popped in for drinks on a wet Thursday afternoon. Sat in a booth and we were greeted with a smile. We ordered drinks that came quickly. We didn’t need to ask to reorder as a nice barman with silver hair and glasses,came over and said, same again? This was great service. A nice wee treat and prices reasonable.

Visited for a quick drink and ended up staying for a few. Welcoming and cosy atmosphere. The five tests tubes for £5 were fab, would recommend. Will definitely return!

When everywhere is packed you can quite often find a bit of calm in the Lab. Solid choice of beers on draught and a small outside space. Only con is it doesn’t get any real sunshine as it’s tucked down the alley

Goos wee jaunt for a beer and a few

Great city centre bar with a courtyard available to sit in too. Good mix of age groups and not over run with the young team! Atmosphere is always buzzing and the staff are always really friendly

Great place when on a night out

Hard to find if you don't know it. Had 3 cocktails. First was priced as all inclusive but other 2 were charged for each item which made a difference of just over £28. Didn't notice it till the day after. Only bad point by the staff

Always nice to visit the lab. Concealed just off Buchanan Streets main shopping area, its a nice wee hideaway with outdoor seating when the weather is good.

V.G covid procedures. Attentive service. Very good all round.

A bit quiet when we went midweek in the afternoon, but was getting busier around 5. good location.

The blue lagoon in Glasgow. Deep fried pizza and chips. The most calorific thing I've ever enconted. Maybe I'll die ? I posted this on accident and don't know how to remove it. I'm sure the lab dishes up better grub than this.
