Ross's Original Bar in Glasgow City

Fui a tomar una copa, me quedé a tomar más. El rugby estaba en marcha, la buena música era alta pero no ensordecedora, tal como me gusta. El personal es muy eficiente y amable. Volveré a visitarte.

Popped in yesterday for ONE drink. Music was good and loud but not overly-loud, rugby was on various screens, atmosphere was spot-on, service was great from friendly bar staff...so we stayed longer than one drink. lol. Great place and glad I discovered it.

Had a great festive meal prawn cocktail and turkey was my preferred choice but lots on menu. Cozy and welcoming. Definitely recommend.

Esperé 40 minutos anoche en una cola afuera en el frío helado y cuando llegamos al frente nos dijeron que era 1 en 1 fuera. Observamos como se iba una fiesta de Navidad completa (12 personas) y tu idiota portero se negó a dejarnos entrar. No estará cerca de este pub de nuevo. Estuve aquí 3 veces anteriormente y tuvimos una buena noche. Por favor, cambia de portero. El tipo es un payaso.

Visto un hombre poniendo sus manos en las bebidas así le dijo al portero que me dijo que estaba fuera de causar problemas y yo no era bienvenido, entonces procedió a llamar a mí y a mi compañero bolsas de escoria y recuerdos y nos dijo que nos arrastramos de vuelta bajo una roca que venimos de un lenguaje y comportamiento horrible de alguien que está empleado para hacer que la gente esté segura y asegurar que todos están teniendo una buena noche el otro portero estaba horrorizado por su comportamiento y lenguaje. El hombre no debería estar en el trabajo que está si así es como hablamos y reaccionamos ante un cliente preocupado

Great music, great people, fairly cheap! The music is quite loud though

We went to ross's sat night for a few drinks however saw food and it looked good 😉😊 but the drinks and nightlife in the place was amazing so we never left the place and we had a ball well worth a night out would recommend

Gran bar, no hay problemas con eso, la selección de bebidas era buena y el servicio era excelente. SIN EMBARGO, el volumen de la música casi ensordece a mi esposa y a mí. Tanto que no pudimos mantener una conversación. Hubiera sido el tipo de bar en el que nos hubiéramos alojado, pero nos fuimos después de uno como demasiado ruidoso - y esto fue a las 3 pm!

What you see is what you get here. A bar with loud dance music, all day and night. Great In small doses.

Karaoke to loud and eejit kickin' off at the bar. Not a pleasant experience. One pint and off.

Good meeting place and great service

Stowed on the weekends. Can very quickly become like sardines but a good mix of people nonetheless. Some staff are better than others and the bouncer (one of) has a mad power trip from time to time but overall a decent night can be had.

Its ok. A bit full of maddies.. went back in at the weekend after 5 years..! Good music, good staff kept the beers coming and prices, not too bad. I have to say tho, the wee neds who are looking for a fight need papped out the door. 6 of us left early cos of them.

Sólo entré porque necesitaba retrete. Huele horrible en la zona del bar, los aseos de señoras estaban fuera de uso por lo que tuvo que usar discapacitados. Absolutamente asqueroso. Mi compañero fue a caballeros y la taza del inodoro estaba llena de rollos de papel higiénico. 50 por 2 bebidas para usar inodoros de mezcla. 🤬

Toilets, urinal you could smell up the stairs. Men's toilet door should be closed. Didn't have food. That would put me off.

One of the best Friday night's I've had in Glasgow, in a very long time.

Popped in for a drink only. Service was good. Pub had a few customers in but this was midweek and in the afternoon so this would be expected. Would visit if in area again.

Great staff as always. Bar needs modernised and a refurbish.

This place was jumping! We walked past and had one of those Kevin and Perry parent moments where we decided to pop in. I felt old 😄 but was fun re living my youth. It was absolutely packed and pretty lively, good fun and a nice wee experience.

Defo a bar worth visiting as a first point of call on a pub crawl. Good service and decent music.

Place was heaving, couldnt get to the bar, standing room only, bein ex fire service, if a fire had broken out in there it would have been disastrous, even standing shoulder to shoulder beside a colleague i couldnt hear him, music was ridiculously loud, and im a metalhead!

Just in for drinks, this place was bouncing!! Great atmosphere, reasonable prices. Worth a visit!

Only ever been in for drinks but it is always jumping. It can be a little too crowded at the weekend if you're not in early enough to get a table! The music is always brilliant and whether you're a youngster or an auld yin there is something for everyone. Great wee bar for a day out and with outdoor seating it is great in the sunshine months too.

Was in this bar tonight, with no other customers than myself and one friend. Went downstairs to toilet and after saw an open door and ( maybe unadvisably) looked in and awoke a very unfriendly "manager " . On a later toilet visit, said manager accused me of trying to steal stock and "assault " him . Am open to further conversation with Bar owners/management

Quiet during week,but Saturday Party central;heaving jumping up & down,earbashing noise,on for you young Dudes&Dames.I went for a Pizza across road,with her indoors.

Food great, as always. Friendly and helpful staff. Ladies toilets not in a great state at time of visit.

The Toilets let this bar down, out of the 4 ladies only 1 worked, floors flooded, toilet seats hanging off no toilet roll on a Friday afternoon disgusting

I've been here in the 80s Good party atmosphere. Drinks good prices on a return visit

I was advised to come here by some friendly locals outside the horseshoe bar. My first opinions were not great but the customers and staff were very friendly unlike my previous pub I visited. The karaoke was bouncing and the doorman was very chatty and friendly. Recommend this karaoke bar over any other in the town

Homemade Burgers are unreal if the right chef is in that day, normally Monday, Friday and Saturday. All staff are great too,..friendly, great service and welcoming.

I came in for a beer on a Sunday afternoon and place was dead, no atmosphere and pub looked old and dirty, floors were sticky but on the plus side the bar staff were friendly and the pub was warm when it was cold outside.

Quiet office workers kinda bar during week but come the weekend it's party central

Music fantastic. Far far too cramped, dangerously overcrowded and toilets and stairwell are an absolute disgrace and filthy.

We went into Ross,s bar in Glasgow as 2 couples,first impression was very good,clean,traditional Glasgow pub,it had a great range of beers,some of which I never knew,when we got talking to the barman,about these,he offered us small samples to taste them,this was a great touch from him,we also had food,which was lovely and reasonably priced,all round it was a great visit,and I'm looking forward to the next one.

We nipped in here for a quick drink before going for a meal over the road, we ordered drinks and sat at a small table against the window and was instantly struck by an awful smell which actually put us off our drinks! It was as off someone had been sick the night before and it hadn’t been cleaned properly! Either that or just generally smelly. We quickly drank up and left as it was making us feel I’ll!!

Been here before on 3rd December 2021 and had a great night, place was jumping and the karaoke singers were great entertainment Came though today with my husband for a weekend and to see Jersey boys. Had a nice meal in a lovely restaurant across from Ross’s and thought we would pop in here afterwards before our next booking at another pub. Bouncer asked my husband to lift his jumper to show what he had on underneath, fait play as it’s was Celtic v Rangers so understandable but he let us in as my husband had a plain white Tshirt on and no football colours. Got to the bar and ordered our drinks, only to be tapped on the shoulder from a guy in a hoody! Pulled us aside to the door beside the doorman and said sorry guys your not welcome tonight as it’s regulars only!! I was absolutely appalled by this! Like I said, we have been before and always recommended it to friends who were coming to Glasgow but tonight our faces clearly didn’t fit for this individual!! It’s quite funny though, we had 2 female friends from Dundee also in the same pub, who are clearly not regulars. But they had no issues!! I was so angry that I called up to speak to someone but the manager wasn’t available and the female I spoke to said she was the supervisor, basically said they have a strict policy on celtic and rangers day! I told her we were from Dundee on a nice weekend away, I had black on my husband had a white Tshirt and pink hoody so why the hell would we be mistaken for football fans! Ridiculous! I won’t be back anyway, thats me done. Can’t be doing with wee guys on a power trip! So please get a grip of your customer service guys!

Mental, In a good way. Was in on a Sunday night. Met some cracking people. One bouncer on. If it kicked off the place would get trashed. Apart from that. Class. A right Glesca night out👍👌😉

You know what, I like the place. But that’s now twice I have been for a night out with my mrs and twice there had been issues. Some girl was singing on karaoke tonight and shouted something on the microphone which wasn’t acceptable for a mixed pub and I got dragged out by my t shirt by the guy who either runs or owns the place and it wasn’t even anything to do with me. That was after an attempted headbutt by yourself on me. Until your bouncer stepped in and stopped you, so I hope someone contacts me to sort this

Good pub,prices for drink and food very reasonable

Visited for a quick pub lunch. This used to be a brilliant bar but oh has it gone downhill. Food and service were ok but there was no way to check in. Not one member of staff was wearing a mask either. My husband ordered at the bar and said he felt his feet were sticking to the carpet. Stairs and carpet down to the toilets were even worse and surely a hazard. Ladies was awful with broken toilet seats where there actually was one. And I use my own tissue because no way was I touching the toilet paper supplied. Plenty of soap when you got a sink to work. Can only submit with 1 star but it's really zero. Won't be back.

Was in 2 weeks ago , having a great time , in the place for a few hours , the place is busy , so I am standing at bar , I moved over to the space in the bar , where the barmaids come in and out of behind the bar , with the place that busy , people trying to buy a round , I moved to the side of bar to let people order their drinks, manager comes up behind me , grabs my arm and tells ma I have to leave , because a took 1 step behind the bar, the happiest guy in the place 😀, a disgrace

Went into bar yesterday with a few mates for a few beers, no draught lager, had a busy weekend we were told. Staff were pleasant enough, owner no so pleasant. Also over priced. Will never be back.

Disgusted!!! Got "caught up" in staff "escorting" ppl out! After being pushed aside and injuring my shoulder as a result, I approached bar staff... Rudely ignored re my concerns... Bar man brushed off my complaint and texting this from hospital 3 calls unanswered.

Visited bar tonight. Atmosphere great however when staff were "escorting " ppl out, I got pushed against wall twice! Approached bar staff and my concerns were NOT noted. Bar man turned away and ignored my concerns...Texting this from A and E! 3 calls to pub unanswered! DISGUSTED and APPALLED at staffs lack of concern... Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy!

Such a great find within the busy but wonderful Glasgow town! Friendly and helpful barman but that is where the service ended. No clean tables, complete disregard to covid rules (used face mask 😷 left on the table by some previous numpty) and it remained there until I politely asked for it to be removed. Complete disregard to the comfort and safety of patronage. What a shame as such a nice ambiance if only the staff gave a damn!

It’s a great bar with fantastic staff. Good food, presented well and quick to be served. Bar prices are great too. Brilliant karaoke. This wee bar would be hard to beat. Has it all 💕💕

Went to Ross’s bar on Saturday as an unplanned visit after we were given awful service across the road in Tingle. So glad we came across Ross’s, they opened up 10 minutes early for us, we had a lovely area at the back which was perfect for our group of 21. Staff were amazing, really accommodating, got involved in the fun, Played great music, plenty of space for dancing and drinks were really reasonably priced. We had a ball, no one wanted to leave! Thank you for a wonderful afternoon, you made our day!

After having an awful experience at local bar Tingle we stumbled across Ross’ bar which was due to open shortly. We were in Glasgow for a hen party and seeing a large group outside they opened up the bar early for us and gave us a great area at the back of the bar and put some brilliant music on. The staff really went out of their way to make our day and put a smile on our faces! Thank you for being so accommodating! Drinks are also great price! Would recommend anyone visiting Glasgow come to Ross’. Thanks again!

Barmaid serving me stopped halfway through to check IDs on a group of young lads. Then gave us the wrong drink, which we'd checked she understood as there was an allergy issue. I gave up, told her to forget it. The comment from the gentleman behind the bar was not necessary either. Disappointing.

Cracking night out with good music

Great no-frills Glasgow pub with very competative prices. Gets lively at the weekends and although a little basic, it's generally good service.

Adequate mirror quality in the guys toilet and decent lighting too. 'The mirror man.' The mirror equality crusader........!
