The best restaurants serving British food in Scotland

Lovely food served by lovely staff. Great meal and very tasty food, well presented. Even put candles in the desserts for the birthday boys. Thank you Buchan Braes.

Food is really good, servers are attentive friendly and polite. The menu is varied and very reasonably priced. We have now been several times and can personally recommend the food. We have sampled most of the menu and nothing has been disappointing.

We needed over 50 fish suppers on the beach last night for my son's memorial. Monica and Ricardo went out of their way to ensure it was fantastic, hot & tasty as ever. We cannot thank them enough ❤️

From start to finish we had a wonderful weekend stay , Hotel is in good condition , rooms excellent airy and fresh smelling , bed was comfortable , and en-suite was large . The dining experience was great , fresh scallops , venison , salmon was magical , cooked to perfection ! No frozen food here !! Good selection of whisky a tad overpriced but ok . Location is lovely , gardens great and an abundance of birdlife dotting bout .

I've been twice now since the hotel refurbishment and enjoyed rump of lamb which was superb both times. The venue has gone from a little shabby to a lovely, warm and welcoming environment for dinner. The staff are young and enthusiastic. The only exception was the barman who looked seriously unimpressed when he passed our table and my partner politely asked him for more drinks, he gestured that he was serving someone, he actually scowled at us! To be fair he did return later to take our drinks order but we'd already been served by then. Another scowl from him thrown in our direction! Not very pleasant, more training needed I think. The importance of learning to smile at customers, seems basic in the restaurant business but not everyone got the memo! Still the food was superb, the venue lovely and the rest of the staff were great so would I go back? Absolutely! I've only knocked a star off due to the barman but maybe it was an off day for him. Highly recommend!

The most depressing coffee shop I've ever had the misfortune of visiting. Completely soulless, coffee isn't great and cakes were stale. Never again

We ordered steak pie,which was delivered pipping hot. Tender and fresh. Portion size was more than expected. Great choice

Plenty nice clothes no mirrors. I asked about a mirror and was told to look in the beauty department. I wanted to see a jacket not my face.

Very clean cafe. Lovely food. Homemade baking done daily. All staff are very polite and professional, very helpful. Has a shop and museum attached to it and an art gallery.

Dined here, as staying in hotel and did not fancy walking into Campbeltown to find a restaurant so it was easier to stay put. Booked for 7.30 but they called us to put us back to 8.30 as they had a party booked in. They then call our room at around 7.20 to ask can we come now but no as we weren't ready. Agreed we'd come asap around 7.45. Party of 10 had grown to 14 and were very very noisy. Couldn't here ourselves speak. My starter of scallops,expensive but tasted fine. My halibut was tasty and enjoyed the meal. One of my sisters thought the langoustines were overcooked and again expensive. Steaks and lasagne were eaten with my sisters saying yes all good. Service all good and then breakfast in the morning. Menu very good, service a bit haphazard but friendly waitress and all enjoyed that meal too.

My family of 4 stopped here to eat during our driving trip around Scotland. We all got traditional breakfasts, which were delicious with big portions. The service was very good and we got our food fast. That night, my wife realized that she had lost her fanny pack. We contacted JJ's Cafe and they told us that they had found it at our table. We were already back on the road by then, so there was no way for us to return to Fort William to retrieve it. We asked them to ship it to our house in the USA, and they did! I would go back to JJ's Cafe for the good food and service alone, but I would ABSOLUTELY go back for the opportunity to support a business like this whose owners and employees care this much about their customers. Thank you!!!

Lovely wee cafe with a real old fashioned feel. Food was really nice and staff were great. Brilliant value too. Even a couple of builders coming out as I was going in commented on how good it was. If you can keep builders happy then you must be doing things right. Sad to see for sale signs in the window, I hope it continues just as good into the future and that someone with the same values takes it over.

Had drinks and chips after a long time in the next door splash park. Service was friendly, chips were hot and nice. Everything we needed. Would recommend.
