The best restaurants in Scotland

Took about 20 minutes to make a chips and cheese and I was the only one in the shop. asked for it 3 times in a wrap, and the guy still didn’t listen, was on his phone constantly And when the time finally came it was the worst sauce and cheese I’ve ever had on a chips and cheese. Wouldn’t reccomend.

Absolute crap friends of mine went in for a coffee only to be told meals only and left. Think they are above everyone else just wait till this bubble bursts. The sooner the better.

A fabulous 3 course festive meal! The flavours for each course were perfectly balanced and presented beautifully. The service was delightful and we were helped to choose excellent wine choices. This was a perfect start to the festive season for us. Thank you.

Brilliant self-service farm shop, including artisan dairy products, local sourdough bread, baking bacon, meats and an excellent coffee machine. The unhomogenised milk is the best ever, just like it used to be, watch the cream rise to the top and pour it on your meusli!

I got a takeaway and it was hot and beautiful. I would recommend it to anyone for value and taste. I would have given it more stars if I could have.

Fantastic place. Accommodated dairy free and no spice requests for a child. Super friendly staff. Real family friendly atmosphere, was picking up but wish we had eaten in as made so welcome at pickup!. Fabulous.

Smashing wee cafe, very clean, great coffee, great roll n sausage n tattie scone. Friendly staff.

Ordered two coffees which arrived on their side in a carrier bag, both had spilled so I was handed a carrier bag full of coffee with two empty cups floating in it. Great restaurant to sit in as the food is fantastic but the delivery is so bad!

I recently celebrated my 40th birthday party at Sugarcane African Restaurant & Bar, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. As a party location, Sugarcane African Restaurant & Bar exceeded all expectations. The private event space was perfect for our gathering, offering just the right mix of privacy and openness. The team helped us coordinate from the food to the music, making the celebration seamless and stress-free. The restaurant also have a projector available, perfect to display pictures and videos during the event. The food was absolutely delicious and the quantity was great too. We had plenty to eat in and takeaway. I highly recommend Sugarcane African Restaurant & Bar for any occasion—whether it’s a special event, a night out with friends, or just a great dinner. They truly go above and beyond to ensure you have an unforgettable experience!

One of the best little tea rooms I've been to. Coffee & delicious cake. The lady who owns it is lovely , very chatty. Added bonus, there is a selection of small antiques for sale. I went back the following day for 1 thing & bought 6 things as couldn't make my mind up . Lots of lovely things to browse through. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

Such a comfortable bar with leather tub chairs. Very bright and cheerful bar and views over the nearby river Ness which haa a seal. With over 250 whisky brands, 50 gin brands and lots of local beers you should find something to try. Big decision then is a repeat or try a different one ! Only had drinks but the food looked appertaining and reasonably priced. Attentive and frienly staff. Unfortunately their piano sessions are only on of a weehend but can appreciate that would be another reason to stay a little lonher.
