Great food and definitely delivers on the cheese. My brother and I both went for the American - pastrami and Monterey Jack cheese. It was delicious, so good we had to go back for seconds. Great comfort food, as it was raining we ate them in the car with some good coffee that we also ordered, but there are park benches near by if the weather is good, or you’ll could take a stroll along the beach.

Not sure what all the hype was about … ordered 4 toasties … buffalo, 2 tripple cheese and ‘classic’ mac and cheese. Very disappointed. All tasted of flavourless cheese (definitely couldn’t tell there was meant to be different cheeses.) and for nearly £7 a toastie it was pretty sub standard. Tick it off as Done … but would’t go back. I was expectingly hot gooey flavoursome cheese on crisp buttery sourdough and maybe nicely seasoned … this was just banged out and was tasteless.

I have wanted to visit this place for months and have been so hyped about it. I don't think there is actually words which describe how worth the wait this food was. The toastie was so good I would have eaten it even if I had accidentally dropped it in the sand.If my gran was still alive, I'd punch her in the face if you told me I'd get a toastie out of it.Cannot recommend these toasties enough, I almost bought two they were that good. I think im going to have to start factoring in trips to The Cheese Toastie Shack in my monthly expenditure because without sounding dramatic, I think I'd literally die without them.

Brilliant service and probably the best toasties that we have ever had. Simply brilliant. The day we visited there had been a storm the night before and the shack had been slightly flooded from the property above, damaging the tills. To make things worse the card payment system was not working properly but the staff were still cool calm and incredibly polite, taking time to engage with customers despite the technical issues they were having. This is a wee gem and if your in at Andrews well worth visiting.

Yep - unusual quality toasties in an unexpected spot - that is part of the thrillThe quality is great but be prepared for a wait and you need to be prepared to eat them there and then - no matter the weather!!Very popular - thought the mushroom and camembert toastie was fab; red leicester and chorizo equally fabAlso great lemonade but a bit pricey £16 for 2 toasties and 2 lemonades - be warned!

First time getting a toastie after following their Instagram page for ages, and it did not disappoint! Creamy macaroni with stringy cheese on thick white toasted bread delish! The only thing was I felt like it was a little greasy, not sure if they are toasted with butter on the outside and that’s why??? Small queue and waited around 20 minutes for which is understandable at this time of year! I will definitely be back!

Great place to go with family at Kingsbarns as well. Cannot wait to go back and even though there might be a slightly longer wait due to current circumstances I know it will 100% be worth the wait. Always have brilliant toasties in St Andrews. Yes the queues can take a while on a sunny St Andrews day but definitely worth the wait! Never had any complaints about any of the toasties we’ve tried - my favourite is the mushroom one but would happily eat them all. The toasties are crispy on the outside and delicious inside - Mac n cheese is amazing. Husband has had one which he can’t remember the name of but says it was delicious!! It’s my plan to try them all. Camembert, balsamic mushroom and wild rocket is next in the list! My husband and I regularly go to kingsbarn for a toasty, taking in some of the wonderful Fife coastal path. Being French, i love cheese, it is in my DNA. the cheesy toast shack never disappoints! They have quirky fillings, using goat cheese, emmenthal, camembert, along with cheddar of course and their famous macaroni cheese toasty. These continental cheeses are complimented by quirky condiments. The staff take care and time to cook toasty, always very chatty and friendly! Real people people! Yes, you may have to queue occasionally, but this is a testament to how good it is! We travel 40 miles for a toastie from the shack! Please try them. You wont be disappointed! Travelled an hour and a half to get here, the rationale to the family was a lovely walk on the beach at St Andrews with the dog. However, the real reason was the Mac & Cheese toasties I’d seen on Instagram. Well, they lived up to the hype! First great sign was the queue. No great comfort food outlet is ever quiet. The busier, the better. And it was mobbed today with lockdown easing and the sunshine being out. Ordered everyone their toastie of choice. Service with a smile from front counter and back of the kitchen. Bit of a wait but it was absolutely worth it. Both my kids and my good lady wife struggled to finish their food but agreed it was probably the best of its type they’d ever had. Even the dog loved the bits she managed to steal from a plate. (just as well it wasn’t mine!)Can’t recommend this place highly enough. Seek it out if you’re in the area, know that popular things are worth a wait, enjoy your grub in a great setting where you can walk at least some of the carbs off when you’ve finished. We’ll be back!

Kingsbarns is one of our favourite beaches and it’s made all the more special by The Cheesy Toast Shack. What could be better than sitting on a bench, looking out over the sea and eating a delicious, freshly-made and substantial toastie? They’re all made fresh to order, so it can take a while, but there’s plenty of friendly conversation while you wait. The St Andrews one is good too and although it has a bigger menu, Kingsbarns is still The One for us. What’s the secret? Maybe the almost-burnt outside? The sourdough? Who knows, but they’re well worth the trip.

Never had a Mac n Cheese toasty before but wow! I wish we were in St Andrews for longer so I had the time and tummy space to try more of the fantastic sounding toasties. Great location with views of the city, harbour & coast. Genuinely friendly and fun staff. What a find. Would heartily recommend this. You won’t be hungry or disappointed!

Cheese toasties are great. Home made macaroni and cheese is great. Home made macaroni and cheese in a toastie put together by people who know how to put together a Mac and cheese toastie? Awesome. It inspired me to write a limerick for them.

my partner and I visited the East Sands branch after a long morning of walking - we ordered the mushroom and camembert toastie and the New Yorker and they were both incredible! service was also lovely, we were served by a super friendly girl with red hair (didn't get her name sorry!). We will definitely return when we are next in St Andrews

This toastie shack is fab. Great variety of fillings. Mac and cheese was delicious. There are benches to sit on and public toilets at the beach which were very clean . The beach is a hidden gem.

A lovely accompaniment to a beautiful beach - tasty cheese sandwiches on a homemade bread. Between us we had three varieties, all of them really tasty. Good value and a lovely chat with the German couple running. Would, and will, definitely go back. I’m not one for writing reviews generally - so my 5 spots/stars is a true rating of cheesy goodness.

Have visited Kingsbarns and St Andrews many times but had not heard of The Cheesy Shack before - until today! Having visited Falkland Palace earlier, decided to drive back home along the coast. It had been a while that I had actually driven down to the car park - and on a rather chilly/blowy day it was just great to see The Cheesy Toast Shack!, Had a lovely chat with the lady there and really enjoyed our Brie, Salami and caramelised Onion Toastie on delicious sour dough bread! Highly recommend a wee visit, and I will be back for sure!!

Have passed a few times when on holiday in East Neuk, made a point of stopping by for a toastie this trip. Fantastic, good selection made with sour dough bread, very filling and very enjoyable. Will definitely be back!

Who doesn't like a cheese toastie? Then there's the Shack's toasties, raised to a level beyond. Just go and buy one and ignore the review that said they're greasy. They're not. They're huge and filled with cheeses n stuff and utterly, utterly worth the trip.

Not only was my toastie delicious, but the service was incredible. It was a pretty popular time, and there was a bit of a backlog, but the staff was very apologetic and incredibly sincere. They even offered me my can of coke for free, because I had waited so long. Like all good things, expect a wait, but I promise, it’s worth it! For the quality of food, I didn’t mind the queue.

Normally I would give 5 stars due to the quality of the food and service over the past 3 years but unfortunately recently the service has gone down. Last week the guy ( with a woolly hat) couldn't cut salami ( slivers flying off or big chunks were cut- quite funny really if it wasn't food) and the gorgonzola cutting resulted in an unappetising blob ( in addition, his packing was atrocious) but I had patience and smiled with all of that thinking that he was new ( even if I had to tell him to add stickers to prevent the salami from falling out . However this week the same guy was rude and wanted to serve a man behind me, I objected saying I was in a hurry and only needed bread ( I am a pretty chilled lady usually ) and instead of apologising he said said he couldn't get there at that moment due to his colleague being in the way! Not good! I am not sure if I want to return.......

Only our 2nd visit here, but the portion sizes are huge and staff are friendly. The prices have slightly increased but it's still well worth the money! We tried the strawberry sundae, chocolate fudge sundae and the ferrero sundae, Highly recommend.
