The menu includes fish, meat, veggie options. Plated with class and served pleasantly by staff. One night I had the carrot wellington which had particularly good filling of carrot, onion, and spinach. Another night had the creamy risotto with asparagus & peas. Both were very satisfying. Desserts outstanding. The Carnacrach looked scruptious but I chose poached pear for a lighter choice. Had the Toffee Cake with sauce and the smallest scoop of vanilla ice cream. I would’ve enjoyed a little more ice cream with this large piece of cake.

Entered the cafe and smiled at the only person working there (dark haired woman), then asked politely if they are dog friendly. The server was very rude and abrupt with her response, quoting council regulations at me and telling me there are no dog friendly cafes in Jedburgh, except one on the outskirts. Obviously customer service is not her forte! Place looked quite dingy and like it could do with a clean/decorated. Cakes sitting out did not look fresh or appealing. Had the appearance of a cafe in a nursing home or something. Not good.

Popped into the cafe for some lunch whilst I was in Kirkintilloch. Friendly welcoming staff, environment cosy and clean. I ordered a lovely bowl of lentil and bacon soup, very tasty and piping hot as it should be. Lovely fresh sandwiches too and a great cup of coffee. Also had a crepe which again was lovely and made perfectly. Staff are on hand when needed but not intrusive. Lovely relaxing atmosphere, good music and also had a nice wee chat with a lady and her baby at the next table. Would definitely recommend a visit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was very disappoined to have to pay almost £9.00 for a take-away cup of Lentil Soup only without bread and butter (my choice) followed by a black coffee made up from 'drip' coffee and half a mug of hot water. My friends and I frequent The Tea Coosy most weeks and usually it is fine with no complaints but this week I felt totally ripped off. There is no way a paper cup of soup and half a black coffee topped up with hot water was worth that. Disappointed in the extreme.

We went there for my partner birthday dinner as there was 17 of us, everything was good apart from the prep ordered set up, as it was very confusing with the 5 course set up, everyone agreed with the comments that it wasn't worded correctly, as they said that we had to pick from 5 starter and 5 main and 5 desserts, as when I phoned to book it they did say about the 5 to pick from, but I thought it was just the way that they did it until we tryed to pre booking the meal and then we had to start again, if they had said that because it was a valitines night and we all had to agree on what everyone was wanting as you couldn't go over 5 options, quite confusing and a bit arguing amused us but the meal and everyone was happy

Had just the best experience at the Toll House cafe. Really nice food - very tasty leek and potato soup, and a cheese toastie that doesn't scrimp on the cheese and melted perfectly. Plus the owner is very friendly and made the place so welcoming. I was staying at a nearby house catsitting for the weekend and the house's boiler had broken, making me reliant on making a real fire. The owner, Julie, very kindly gave me some firelighters and gave me some other 'real fire' tips (they have a lovely one going in the cafe). Can't recommend it enough, both for the food and the lovely owner. I couldn't get back to report my fire-making success, but I did manage thanks to Julie! Great place.

Excellent food and service. Prices very reasonable. Would recommend and return I hadn't visited this Brewers Fayre for a few years.

I have been an enthusiastic and regular patron of the Pottery for more years than I can remember, certainly 22 plus years. I have introduced many friends and colleagues to its delicious cakes. I was upset and disappointed on my last visit to find that loud unpleasing muzak had been introduced. This ruins the ambience entirely. Who travelling in the Highlands wants loud irrelevant noise? Sadly unless this disappointing development is reversed the place will lose my regular custom and that of my friends.

We ate here and finished our meal, the waitress cleared away and we decided we'd have another round of drinks before leaving. We waited 5, 10 minutes and the waitress never came back. I went in search of someone but couldn't find our waitress. I didn't like to open the doors to the kitchen. We waited another 5 minutes and my wife said 'this is ridiculous' and went off in pursuit. She found our waitress in the bar (was she watching TV, did she fancy the barman?) and asked if we could get some service. The waitress said 'the restaurant is closed', as if we were being unreasonable in expecting to be served a round of drinks. No, the restaurant isn't closed if you've still got people sitting at a table you're serving and you haven't asked them if they want a dessert or offered them the bill but simply buggered off. So we said OK, can we just pay the bill. Which we did, and obviously didn't leave tip. We won't be going back.

We waited more than an hour to be served a frozen fish (allegedly fresh sea bass) and chicken tonight with boiled rice (allegedly delicious butter chicken curry). Other diners were experiencing similar delays and disappointments. Sparkling water was Aldi branded and charged at 2.80 GBP, wine was not great. The waitress was clearly embarrassed. Decor is bonkers. Fawlty Towers eat your heart out!!! If you have any other options, I’d avoid this one!
